We stayed for three nights at the Riverside Hotel. It was great. The Las Olas Boulevard is a great place to just walk up and down and enjoy the time. The pool was clean and quiet. If you are not too crazy about the beach this should be your choice for Fort Lauderdale. And if you still need the ebach. its just a 5-10 minutes ride away.

I stay at the Riverside every time I go to Fort Lauderdale (about 4 -5) times a year. It's always superior. You can want for nothing when you stay.

Something was going on at the desk which seemeed to occupy the entire staff for about 10 moinutes when I checked in, but finally check-in was quick when someone became available. A few minutes later I found the room was not what I requested; went back to the desk and had a surreal experince while a desk clerk tried to find me what I wanted (turned out […] they didn't have any Kings availble). Overall, (I was in the "Tower") the room was nicely appointed and if you spend your entire time in downtown Ft Lauderdale, the location can't be beat. I do wish ALL hotels would stiop using that chemical or wax or whatever on the bathroom floors that simply pick up dirt off the bottom of one's shoes and just smudge the floor. Hotel is great, staff is friendly and the location is good. The pool is very nice and hotel is clean. I would highly recomend staying here

This hotel is good, very helpful staff and a nice pool and location. Only downside was the A/C that didn't work properly.

We went there to celebrate our 25th Wedding Aniv., we were upgraded to the Tower's with an excellent view of the river and city on the 9th floor. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large and clean, the room was very large with a table & chairs and desk. Walking distance to ton's of restaurants and attractions. Pool was very clean and we ordered […] lunch at the pool, which was not pricey, and ate dinner in the hotel pool Indigo, which was elegant and not overpriced for the portions and service they gave you. I found the location and room condition very good. Las olas boulevard is one of the most beautiful streets in the USA

From the moment we arrived, we were treated to exceptional service by an extremely responsive and helpful staff. We stayed in the Tower in a spacious, comfortable room with a private balcony, overlooking the river. For three days, we felt elegant and pampered. In the evenings, we were entertained by live piano music while having cocktails in the lobby […] bar -- or just outside on the patio. The concierge was most helpful - with restaurant suggestions and reservations -- and even provided us with drink coupons at the restaurant we selected. The location can't be beat - right on Las Olas Bouleard, among the shops and restaurants -- and right across from a fabulous gelato store! It's only 15 minutes from the airport. The only drawback was the buffet breakfast, which, while inexpensive offered only oatmeal, scrambled eggs and bacon, although the fresh-squeezed orange juice was deliciouis. I would stay there again in a heartbeat -- and am looking forward to doing so!!! Mehr

The Riverside Hotel was everything it advertised-- in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, one block from Los Olas, on the river, it is completely modernized with the ambience of a European hotel. Great hotel, great location, great service. Three small problems need to be fixed, however. First, there were no dinner room service menus in the room. They said that they were making new ones (and had no problem sending one up) but it was strange. Second, the rooms could use bathrobes. We had some difficulties with the room when we checked into the Riverside. My husband and I booked on hotels.com and then I called the property to ensure our wheelchair access room. I was assured that this would be available. When we arrived the room was not available. We had to spend the first night in a tiny room on first floor. The light coming in […] from the window and noise of old-fashioned air conditioning made for a sleepless night. We were given a 50% off dinner coupon for the mix up. The food was fabulous and the service even better. I can not say enough about Denise the hostess and the wonderful Chilean bass. We had breakfast both mornings and had the same experience. The valet people were professional and very thoughtful. The staff at the checkin tried in every way to make up for the mix up. There was one problem with trying to get towels at the pool but all in all it was a wonderful time and the location could not have been better. Mehr

The hotel was just beautiful! We only stayed over for one night, but the service was wonderful, the rooms were beautiful, and we loved the view!

Hotel was good and very central. We stayed 4 nights. Rooms were clean although towels were not changed during our stay only straightened up on the rails. (I only realised when I unfortunately got lipstick on one of the towels and it was still there days later). We also ate in the restaurant on one evening but found the particular option we chose was […] poor. It was honey chicken wings which were covered in fat and not crisped at all. Also with no accompaniments. Beds were interesting as I am quite small and they were so deep I felt like the princess and the pea. Mehr

My husband and I booked a room to stay and go out with friends in Fort Lauderdale. When we arrived, the staff was more than friendly! Also, something was messed up with our reservation, so we got a FREE upgrade to the SUITE!!! It was AMAZING!!! It was on the top floor of the tower section, Suite 1201, and we had a wrap around balcony overlooking Las […] Olas! Absolutely STUNNING!! The room itself was fantastic. Extra large, with a sitting room, a bar, a jacuzzi tub and a huge bedroom with a King size bed. We could have fit 8 people in there!! It was a great experience and we will DEFINITELY be returning in the near future!!! :) Mehr

This is definitely the hotel to stay at in Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is conveniently located with tons of restaurants and nightlife withing walking distance. The entire staff; front desk, parking valet, housekeeing, security and restaurant wait staff are the best!!

We stayed here one night waiting to fly home. We were in the "classic" part of the hotel and loved it. The location is wonderful as you walk out onto Las Olas. While that is not why we stayed here is was definitely a bonus. The room was everything we expected while the hotel itself exceeded our expectations. Definitely stay here.

This is a very lovely hotel with professional personnel.

The location was great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to be on Las Olas but was not very concerned about the quality of the rooms. A suggestion .... take the water taxis, they are a greay way to get around and also see the waterfront area for only $20 per day.

This hotel is in the middle of it all! Food & Shopping are all walking distance and so is Riverfront. You can watch all the boats on the river from the room (in the new part of the building). Even though the hotel is an older hotel it is VERY clean and nice. Def will stay here again.

Perfect location for shopping/dining in Fort Lauderdale. The hotel rooms were very large but lacked any real contemporary upscale feel. Felt a bit old and tired.

Linda at the front desk was extremely helpful and nice. She made sure that all needs were handled properly and professinally; she met all concerns with a smile and a friendly attitude. She is a great asset to your team.

There were some positive and some negative. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The location was very convenient to shopping and restaurants. The holel is very old and seemed shabby. It needs a maintenance overhaul. Parking is not included in the rate and was very expensive.

The check in was a breeze with a couple of surprises, but the staff was very friendly. The room was small but comfortable. The wording on the website offered Traditional and Classic rooms but I made the reservation based on the room availability thinking an upgrade would be offered at check in, however it was not. The coffee maker in the room did not […] work, but we ate breakfast in the nearby Las Olas restaurants during our 8 day stay so this was not a big deal. Room service was available for our convenience and there are a few restaurants that deliver food right to your room late into the evening. The housekeeping crew was very helpful and friendly. There was no internet access in the traditional guest room we stayed in, but there was a business center available in the lobby. there was a fitness center, bar and on site restaurants as well. The pool is across the street but it was maintained nicely and heated. You could also order lunch and have it served poolside. The hotel is located right in the center of Las Olas and right on the river with Water Taxi service available to take you to the beach and other points of interest along the water ways. The only downside was that we had to leave ... oh yeah and the parking was expensive at $17 a day for self parking and & $23 for the valet. We will definitely be back again! Mehr

The customer service was outstanding from check-in to the time that we departed. The facility was an older building but very well maintained. Everyone was friendly and happy that you stayed at their hotel. We had several meals out next to the street, I was enjoyable watching everyone walking by while we ate our meals. The food was very well prepared […] with a good portion. If you like excellent customer service with a very friendly staff at a very gorgeous hotel them this is the place for you. The hotel in within walking distance to many of the shops and travel by car is easy and they have maps in some of the magazines that you will find helpful. Mehr

I enjoyed my stay. However, there is an original side (called classic) and a new side. When given the choice, select the new side. Larger, newer rooms versus smaller, older rooms.

Will stay here again and again for sure! It's convenient to everything, the staff is extraordinarily attentive, and the grounds are incredibly well maintained.

The location is in the heart of downtown. we got a room for 3 nights at the modern building by the beautiful view on the river and the chek-in was done smoothly and quickly. stuff was so polite,nice and cooporative. I recommend the hotel to everyone who looks for comforts and closing to all attractions in Fort Lauderdale. All above features by suitable […] price. Mehr

The Hotel is convient;ly located in downtown Ft. Lauderdale on Las Olas Blvd. Great resturants and shops are all within an ease walk (less than a block). Staff and room conditions are great and you are only a mile from teh beach. Very safe location.

Visiting for business, in the best location of ft lauderdale for business and the riverwalk which has great bars and restaurants. 5 miles to beach but shops etc all in walking distance

From an unbelievably helpful staff and spacious rooms by the river to the fantastic room service I would recommend this hotels to my friends and my mother! And everyone knows their mom deserves the best! Don't let the slightly dated decor scare you. This hotel has every amenity you could want at a totally reasonable price. The location was excellent. This hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Close to the water taxi, bus and many shops and restaurants within walking distance. We arrived early and checked in early. I definitely recommend this hotel.
