Leider ist das Hotel ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen und der Gesamteindruck des Hotels ist nicht so gut. Die Zimmer im ersten Stock sind sehr hellhörig und man wird durch den Strassenlärm und auch durch die Eismaschine auf dem Gang gestört. Der Service ist im grossen und ganzen gut. Einzig eine Dame am Empfang ist eine Katastrophe. Sie ist unfreundlich […] und hat wohl keinen Bock auf ihren Job. Das Hotel liegt sehr gut, da man nicht mitten in der Stadt ist, die Innenstadt aber in wenigen Minuten mit dem Taxi oder der Metro erreichen kann. In unmittelbarer Umgebung sind auch genügend Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vorhanden. Mehr

It was OK. Lot of noise from heater all through night and noise from road.

The Midtown Hotel is a good value for Boston. We've stayed there several times for a night or two for college visits, drop-off, pick-ups, and have been very satisfied. It's definitely not fancy, but it's clean, and the location is great --close to BU and Northeastern, Prudential Center, Newberry Street and more. Hotel staff has always been courteous […] and helpful. So if you just want a decent place to lay your head at night without the frills, it's a good fit. Mehr

This hotel very dissapointing , the room was dirty and had a very odd smell. There was a horrible view of the underground parking lot from our window and the hotel itself is right next to the highway . Not worth the money and the staff was rude

we enjoyed our stay due to the staff, the location and cleanliness most of all. Our room was large but odd floor plan for TV viewing and bathroom was small; however, we were not there to watch TV and lounge in the bath so it was a great stay for the price.

I admit I am spoiled when it comes to hotels. I travel a lot for business but I do expect some basics to be in place. The staff at the Midtown was awesome, friendly and helpful. The good in my review stops there. The hotel isn't what I would call clean. The beds are so soft that I woke up with back pain daily. The TV channels don't match what is on […] the lineup card. The bathrooms are cramped and not very clean. If you're a traveler on a budget - great price - unless you have a car. The $18 a day parking rate exceeds the non-validated published price in the garage. But I would think twice if you are considering any time in the hotel at all. There are other hotels for $20 more that offer a lot better comfort. Mehr

Parking: additional charge $19 WiFi: $4 for an hour, $20 for a day -- for each computer! So that would have been $60 for our two computers and my son's iPod Touch. Breakfast: not offered, free or otherwise

The price for Midtown Hotel is very reasonable compared to other large hotels in the area. The hotel is older, but clean and well-maintained. The fee for Internet wireless access is extra, but very reasonable. Hotel employees were friendly and helpful. It is located close to hotels which hold large conferences and is within walking distance to many […] restaurants, shops, the Museum of Fine Art, Fenway Park, and the Boston Commons Garden. It does offer parking accommodations (not sure if there is an extra charge), and is also very close to the Prudential and Symphony subway stops. Mehr

A great value for the location. The hotel staff were wonderful.

Hotel was advertised as a pet friendly hotel. Was charged an exra fee, which was not mentioned on website. Had to leave dog in car when we left room as was told at the front desk that dog had to be in a crate if left alone in room. No mention of this on website, or we could have brought something. Had emailed hotel when I booked about my dog and they […] were not aware of it when I booked in. It also happened to be one of the hottest record breaking days, which was a concern when leaving my dog in the car, so had to rush and was not able to do alot of what I had planned to do. Also air conditioning did not work and windows didn't open, so it was a terrible sleepless night. Only 2 pillows on a king size bed. The hotel itself is very old and outdated. Had arrived earlier than checkin and the front desk person was helpful in getting us our room, instead of making us wait. The bellman, Kevin, was very pleasant and helpful. The location is great, but with the extra charges, it cost more than it was worth. Have stayed at better hotels with my dog for alot less. Mehr

Midtown Hotel is fairly priced compared to location, rooms are big and the beds are good, except terribly lumpy extra beds. Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful.

Bring a really good pair of ear plugs if you're not a extremely sound sleeper. Whenever a door within 100 feet of your room opens or closes it seems as if it is your door. Disconcerning to say the least to think someone has opened your door multiple times an hour. thier product is a place to sleep, if you can't sleep, the product needs improvement.

The first person we met at the desk does not seem too enthusiastic to see or talk to us. But the others were excellent especially when we asked to be moved to another room area that was more quiet.

The hotel and surroundings were very noisy. The walls are thin and you could hear everything in the next room. The location was ok depending on what you want to do. It is more then the said distance from South Station which had a negative affect on our stay. It cost more for cabs to the prime sights in Boston. If you need to stay in Boston, this place […] is ok but,I am sure there are better places closer to the places of interest. Mehr

The midtown hotel was very convenient to back bay and a decent walk to Chinatown and the theater District. Service was very friendly and quick. Having parking there was wonderful!

I stayed in this hotel with a group of my female friends for a weekend in Boston. We had the standard room with two double beds, and it was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The service was good, providing a cot and extra toothbrush when we asked, being unphased with our somewhat complicated parking arrangements, not disturbing us in the morning, […] providing the right number of towels, etc. The location is very convenient to the T and to lots of shops and restaurants. My only complaint was the odd bathroom set-up - a single light switch for the toilet/shower room and the sink area outside. Since the sink area (at least in our room) was only separated from the bedroom by a partial frosted-glass wall, this meant that when someone got up to use the bathroom at night they either had to use the toilet in complete darkness or wake up everyone else by turning on a bright light that shone out into the bedroom. As stated by others, this location is terrific for many - across the street from the Symphony, next to Northeastern Univ campus, 1 block to the Prudential Center mall, half a block to the Green Line T, just over a block to another T line. Most tourists will probably want to stay closer to Quincy Market or more towards that side of town as that is where […] the more 'touristy' and historic sites are, but if you need to be on this side of town, the location is great. An older hotel, and like most older hotels, the rooms are quite large, much bigger then the more modern hotels, rooms have shampoo, soap and body lotion, irons and ironing boards, alarm clock radio, tv with cable. There are no in-room refrigerators, but heat, hot water, etc.. all worked great. There is no wi-fi, if there is, then they charge for it, and so I give it one star off for that - there is no excuse for hotels not offering free wifi anymore - I would rather pay for the cable tv which I don't watch, then have to pay for wifi. Being so close to the University there were a lot of younger people staying there, but in general the place was quiet, clean, safe, and though I didn't have a car, there is a lot. A pool too, though it was closed up for winter. Mehr

The Midtown was perfectly located--walking distance to everything. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We rented a refrigerator for the room for 5 dollars a night. There is no microwave. Our only problem was a noisy person in the room below us. A woman was talking nonstop in a very loud, agitated voice, at […] all hours. The last night I had to call security because it was so loud and I worried about what might be happening.. To the point...not a bad place, not that modern but functional and for the price compared to the others...worth the price.

I wasn't sure about my choice when I saw the hotel from a block away . . . looked like it could be a bad 'flashback' from the 60's . . . upon entering the lobby, though, my apprehension quickly started to vanish as I was immediately greeted by a very professional and efficient gentleman. As I had arrived too early to check in, but still needed to get […] to my meeting, I was cheerfully informed that I could just check in my bags and be on my way! After a long day I returned to find a different, but equally welcoming gentleman at the desk who quickly summoned my bags, and some help to get them, and me, to my room. This fellow not only ushered me to the room, but turned on lights, closed drapes, and made sure all was OK before quickly disappearing out the door. The room, with 1 King bed, was marvelous. It was exceptionally clean and well-kept. There was more space than in any hotel I have stayed in for the past year (including suites!). Everything was there and in order, making for a very satisfactory 2-night stay. The location was perfect, close to everything I needed, and afforded a great launching pad for excursions around town. Not only can I recommend this hotel, but I am looking for a reason to Return to Boston so I can stay there again!! This is a very well-kept older hotel with great personality and a competent staff. I stayed here when traveling to Boston for interviews. Location is great, near Prudential center and Symphony, near Green Line T stops. Although hotel building is older, room was clean and comfortable. Only complaint is having to pay for internet.

Hotel has great location, room is spacious and clean. Still, few things: no internet in rooms, there is an option to pay for 2 hours (of course, two consecutive hours - which really made me feeling cheap in 21st century). But major problem is that even when you pay, internet conection is way to slow. I just used my phone to check the email and etc. […] Parking is a bit expensive ($18 overnight, which means you need to leave the parking when you check out, which is at noon) It is not that bad comparing to other places in the city, but I expected as a guest not to pay at all. Great location, friendly staff. Hotel is outdated, but if you are looking more for a cheap place to crash, this is for you.

The hotel was ok; they definitely cater to a lot of partying college-age kids. However, you cannot beat the location. Walking distance from South Station; just two blocks from Boyleston Street. A lovely shopping mall is across the street and there are lots of restaurants, bars and even a supermarket just steps from the hote.

Would recommend this hotel in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Good room service although a bit pricey for the hotel restaurant. Internet available for surcharge.

I had a great overall experience at The Midtown. It had definitely seen better days but it was clean, convenient, and cheap! One can look out the window and see the breathtaking Christian Science Church right across the street. The Boston Symphony is literally on one corner (along with the "Symphany" T stop) and The Prudential shopping center is on […] the other. The staff was helpful and nice (shouts out to Wally/Walter and the nice bellhops). We checked in on Foursquare and got free parking the entire stay! Tl;dr Pros= affordable, great location/safe neighborhood, convenient to bars, shopping, Fenway park, public transportation, whole foods and artsy stuff, Friendly staff Cons= not too ritzy/glamorous Pay extra for fridge (a few bucks a night) and Internet access Mehr

The hotel front desk staff were attentive, helpful, and pleasant. They were particularly helpful with directions and recommendations. They were friendly making me feel welcome throughout my stay. I recommend the Midtown Hotel to Boston visitors.

If you're looking for a quiet night's sleep, this is not the place for you. Although the rooms were large with sufficient amenities, the building is old and you can hear not only your neighbors' conversations but also doors slamming up and down the hall. Pros: The hotel is very conveniently located near the Hynes Convention Center and the subway -- […] both a 5 minute walk. Mehr

this hotel is clean, convenient and comfortable.. the only thing i do not like is the serves attitude are not good!~

Overall impressions: This hotel is a good value for the location and access. It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is clean and functional if you are looking for a place to stay in Boston. Staff: The staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. They had good recommendations for things to do and how to get there. They were also very accommodating […] on moving us to another room when we asked. Amenities: I am a little disappointed that there are still hotels that do not just offer internet with the room fee. Rates in 2011 were $3.95 for 2 hours, $10 for a day. Hotel also had a pool, but I did not check it out. For a charge they have parking and a shuttle to the airport. Rooms: Our room was clean and functional. Towels and beds were nice and clean. Location: Right next to the Symphony stop on the green-T line, this place has fine public access to Boston. Mehr

Loved the location, loved the price! You can walk anywhere, so don't bother with a car!
