Die ehemalige Bergbaustadt Girdwood ist eine Hochburg des Ökotourismus. Am Ufer können Kajaks und Boote gemietet werden. Im Ski-Resort Alyeska werden die Berge von Wintersportbegeisterten zum Leben erweckt. In Portage Valley befindet sich das Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, in dem kranke und verletzte Wildtiere gesund gepflegt werden. The staff and otel were nice but very sterile, Was very dissapointed with our families stay over the christmas hioliday, For a destination resort that has been bragged up, there were hardly any activities and christmas theme going on, We also were awaken at 330 am christmas eve by fire alarms and evacuated the hotel for 40 minutes, with no explanation […] about anything. Woud not spend the money on this place again, Its over rated unless you just want to spend allot of money a night for a small room. This is definitely a destination stay - I doubt anyone "stumbles" upon Alyeska. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. My only suggestion is that the lighting in the bathroom could be a little brighter. You can't beat the views...even if your room faces the parking lot, you are surrounded by mountains and trees. My only complaint had to do with the restaurants. Or lack there of! All of the hotel restaurants were closed except the Bar/grill and there was not one mention of that fact when we made the reservation. And while the halibut was delicious I felt gouged by the $28 dollar price tag for 2 inch square piece of halibut. If go there during the off season […] you should plan on eating elsewhere! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Alyeska. The accommodations were very nice and clean. We loved the hot tub and swimming pool. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only complaints were that the water flow in the shower/tub was extremely low. I tried changing the settings on the shower head, but it didn't help. We also would have liked a […] microwave in our room, but it wasn't a huge deal. I wish we could have stayed longer! I guess we will just have to go back soon! Great hotel! I stayed for the weekend with my family. We loved the pool and hot tub. Breakfast buffet was ok. Couple of the dishes were a little cold on the buffet line. Went on a hike. "Lovely hotel, great pool, fabulous views"
The only complaints I have are concerning cleanliness and noise level. Apparently the housekeepers forgot to close the door to the bathroom in order to sweep up behind it thus leaving a pile of unsightly pubic hairs behind. Kinda gross. The second morning we were there we were awakened at an ungodly hour by a toddler jumping on a bed and throwing a […] tantrum. I have children and I understand that these things happen, I just don't know why the rooms are not better insulated for sound. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to bring us extra towels and bathrobes. There is a refrigerator, safe and a coffee maker. The beds were comfortable and the pool was great. The hotel lobby and ammenities were very nice. The hotel employees were effecient and courteous. The room was disappointing. For a "deluxe" room it was small. Not 6x8 prison cell small but smaller than the average economy room at hotels I have visited in the past. Everything was great except our room was 77 degrees. When we told them at the front desk at checkout, they said we should have said something and they would have fixed it. We just opened the window as we got in late and were tired. Other than that it was really nice. I especially liked that the bathroom and bedroom areas were separated so lights weren't […] an issue. Classy hotel with mostly a comfortable stay-room thermostat could not be adjusted so room was a bit hot at night; pillows were feather which I have allergies to so they were itchy; modem in room did not work; would have been if Starbucks or a restaurant in hotel opened by6:30 so early risers/workers could get coffee and food.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"Nice place to stay"
We enjoyed our stay so much that when our plans where changed due to weather we decided to stay there for another night instead of driving to some place closer to our next destination. It is located on a small road so no road noise. Pool and hot tub where nice on a cold, rainy day. Food was generally good. Onsite tram was fun, hiking trails right out […] the door, girlfriend enjoyed checking emails by the fire, nice views from the room and common areas. Two negatives: 1) A rude person answering the room service line one night. Called another night and another person was very pleasant. All the other staff were pleasant. 2) They use air assisted flush toilets that are very loud. Minor things and the positive far out weighed them. My wife and I were there on our 25th wedding anniversary for 2 days in mid-September just before leaving on a cruise. Alyeska is really a hotel for a ski resort. We were there off season. Food was very good to excellent. The hotel environs were good. We did have rain while we were there or it would have been even better. But all in all was a great […] place to spend 2 days pre-cruise.
