Wollte mit meiner Schwester die Stadt erkunden, e Sehenswürdigkeiten , shoppen und tolles Essen geniessen. Wir waren mehr als positiv überrascht von der idealen Lage des Hotels. leider war zu wenig Personal anwesend beim Frühstück und an der Bar am Abend. beim Frühstück musste man lange warten, bis man bedient wurde, das Buffet wurde nur langsam wieder aufgefüllt und die Tische benutzten Tische wurden auch entsprechen alnge nicht abgeräumt und wieder aufgetischt, dies alles weil Personal knapp war. der Service ansonsten war […] sehr höflich und nett. we stayed here twice in mid April, during an unexpectedly cold and wet period that followed an unexpectedly hot period. Whether the weather was the cultprit, who can say, but the temperature of the room was uncomfortable . . so much so that one night, even with the windows open (Letting in swarms of mosquitoes whose bites remain evidence even a week […] later), we were sweating too much to sleep. the hotel was good enough to relocate us to a bigger and more expensive room, with more windows for more ventilation (and more mosquitoes!), and the rest of the stay was great. I was really surprised bay this hotel. We had come from a small room in Rome and it was great to have a large comfortable room in a great location. Some of the staff were ordinary in their attitude and service especially the guy serving at the bar but you get that. Would recommend this hotel.

We booked this hotel and were very pleased. Great location...just minutes from all the tourist sites, shopping, restaurants and train station. They had the best breakfast with plenty of options and seating. We would definitely stay here again. The only reason we gave service a 4 was because you had to sit down in the lobby for the free WIFI.

We stayed in Florence for the last three days of a two week trip to Italy. We loved the location of this hotel. Everything was within easy walking distance. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, professional and courteous during our entire stay. Very elegant and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

On entering the hotel, which is a 10 minute walk from the train station, we were greeted by an overwhelming smell of sewage, a smell which pervaded the lobby for our entire stay. We arrived at the hotel after three in the afternoon but were greeted with the news that our room was not ready. Maintenance were in fact trying to re-hang the bathroom door, […] which they failed to do. This hotel is a perfect starting-point for a visit to Florence. It is easy walking from the railway station and is in a quiet street. The hotel matches the surroundings - a wide boulevard, high end shopping (even if you are just a window shopper) and beautifully lit as the Christmas season approaches. This stay was for a brief four day November vacation in Florence. for the price, the location was excellent; right by the Santa Maria Novella train station and a close walk to all of the sights and shopping. The free breakfast was excellent! Fresh Italian cold cuts, fruit, cheese, breads, eggs, sausage, juices, and fresh coffee. One of the best free […] breakfasts I have had. I had a single room which was very small but it was fine. Nice quiet room with safe and excellent bathroom. Only complaint was that in the winter the air conditioner was turned off and the room was very hot making it difficult to sleep. You can open the window but it will still be warm. Mehr

A good nice clean comfortable hotel in a great location. Walking distance from all major attractions of Florence. Staff could be more polite and friendly, but other than that the place is well recommended.

The Hotel was a 5 mon walk to every attraction. The location was great.The hotel itself was also good, the reception helped us alot.breakfast was good. Rooms were big and clean. Overall Everything was great. But there is one little thing, we had two double rooms, one seemed to be pretty much noisy during the night and early in the morning, so we had […] little difficulty sleeping. PROS: -Location (close to all sites) -Breakfast -Room 506 (double superior) -Desk staff (most of them) -Close to self-serve laundromat -Neighborhood quiet (block free of traffic) CONS: -Mushy beds -Not the warmest reception by the person who checked us in

Arrived in Florence by train - quick taxi to this beautiful hotel. Room was typical european city room -- not oversized but very well appointed. Bath was very clean - looked like recently redone but very small. We just returned from 3 weeks in Italy staying in various types of places. Hotel De La Ville was perfect for Florence.

This hotel is a 10 minute walk if you are coming to Florence by train and then perfectly located near the sights (old city, Duomo, David, etc.) They offer an American happy hour which I thought was a bit strange where they serve some light snacks between 6pm and 7pm every day at the bar...only catch is you have to buy a drink which would be fine except […] a vodka orange is 12 Euro! Breakfast was good (they had a full spread of cheese, meat, fruit, hard boiled eggs and even had a hot selection of scrambled eggs and sausage). No complaints at all about the room, met my expectations of a 4 star hotel. The staff at the desk was quite nice and helped us with reservations for good food spots. Mehr

Great location at the end of Tornabuoni on a pedestrian street. 10 Minute walk to anywhere; Ponte Vecchio, Train Station, Duomo, Santa Maria Novella Pharmacy and right near tall the designer shops, and the fabulous Stozi Museum and Ferragamo Shoe Store and Museum. A real winner. Will go back there again and again. Too bad about the very small rooms […] and the charge for Internet. A wonderful breakfast room and beautiful property. (stay away from single room 512....teeny tiny). Very safe city walking area at night. Mehr

The hotel is older and has that 1920's feel, which isn't bad (my BF liked it, I didn't). The room was actually larger than I expected. I was underimpressed by the staff. They were cold and not especially helpful. When we asked for restaurant suggestion while we waited for check-in we were sent to the biggest tourist trap by the reception desk. It was […] horrific. The bartender at the bar is nice but avoid the snack foods at the happy hour (vienna sausages and cold tuna pasta salad is not my cup of tea). There internet (2 euros for two hours) is incredibly slow even if it is a bargain. Mehr

You can't go wrong with this hotel. Right in the middle of everything and very clean, comfortable hotel. Housekeeping came 3 times during the day which I have never seen anywhere in all my travel. Staff is very helpful.

The hotel was excatly as described and as expected. The room was a tad small, but hey we came to see Florence not a hotel room!

We had an excellent stay at Hotel De La Ville. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station and a five minute walk from the city center (Duomo). The hotel provided a clean simple room with a large bathroom and free breakfast. The maid service was as expected for a four star hotel. The breakfast was nice and the only thing to complain about was the […] eggs. Italians don't know how to cook scrambled eggs and one day it was pretty bad. But the eggs were still better than at a five star hotel we later stayed in, so we simply think that Italians don't know how to do scrambled eggs. Internet came in two options. A two hour voucher for 5 euros that can only be accessed via wifi in the hotel lobby, and an in-room wired service for 24 hours. The 24 hour service is provided as one continuous interval. The two hour voucher can be divided up into as many small intervals as you like. We used one two hour voucher for our stay of three nights and had time to spare. Mehr

This is a great location within easy walking distance to everything, I found out that all the people at the desk to be not all that friendly, and every time I left the hotel I had to leave my hotel room key at the front desk. That wasn't the biggest deal, but it was annoying because whenever I came to retrieve the key, some of the desk people weren't […] in a rush to give it back, and they seemed annoyed that I was there, in fact one just kept talking on the phone while looking at me for 5 minutes, when all she had to do was hand me a key. Good service, very pleasant accommodations, excellent location - The Hotel De La Ville facillitated a wonderful week in Florence. I've stayed at this hotel three times and will book again when I return to Florence.

We just did a Paris/Venice/Florence/Rome vacation and used the same price/review/star parameters to pick rooms online. In most cases, we got tiny rooms in relatively shabby hotels. The Hotel de la Ville was the shining exception...it looks new, its elegant, the staff is great, the rooms are huge by European standards, and it is a five minute walk to […] most of the major attractions. Wish any of the other hotels had been even close. Plus the breakfast was really awesome, the elevators were a decent size, the AC worked perfectly, the bathroom was awesome...I could go on and on. WONDERFUL place. The only downside is the internet...the wired connections in the room don't work with Vista or Windows 7, and the wireless connection only works in the lobby/bar/social area on the first floor (but thats okay...just settled into a comfy chair, had a martini, and checked up on work). Still, it was the most reasonably priced of all the wireless connections we had during our two week trip. Can't say enough good stuff about this place. Loved it loved it loved it! Mehr

This hotel is in a great location. It's a pleasant walk to most of the areas you will want to see in Florence. The front desk was exceedingly helpful and kind.

I will stay here again. Close to the Duomo, walking distance to the Arno and retail stores. What more could you ask for? Very happy with the service and convience of the location

I've stayed here before. I love this hotel it's so convenient for SMN train station and close to all the major attractions. We had a better room last time we stayed so it was a bit of a disappointment, but for the price I can't complain. The dining room is lovely and the breakfast is varied and plentiful. The staff who run the dining room are superb. […] The head man (who is Indian?) speaks perfect English and runs an outstanding establishment. I'd stay again. Mehr

The staff at Hotel De La Ville was extremely helpful and pleasant. The breakfast each morning was freshly prepared and was of good variety and quality. The room was very nicely appointed and had a surprisingly large bathroom. The only downside was that the airconditioning didn't quite keep up with the unusually hot weather.

The rooms were nice, clean and spacious. The location was perfect. I would definitely go back there.

The hotel is decent and in a great neighborhood close to everything. The value is excellent as the guest room rate was very, very reasonable.

I normally stay in 3 star hotels in Florence, but this 4 star hotel had a special rate, and I jumped at it. What a Treat! to get such much for a 3 star rate! The address/location is excellent, and there is a large sitting room with fireplace that we had to ourselves. Free internet access on two machines (both slow though). Pretty classy though not ornate.; […] definitely not BASIC. Drawback: unpleasant front desk ladies. I stay in Firenze regularly and am familiar with many of the local hotels, on both sides of the river. The reception staff were atypically unpleasant, but the bartender was delightful and even refused tips. Mehr

This is a lovely hotel with a great location. The management and personnel could not have been more gracious and helpful. AFTER we'd checked out we experienced a glitch in our travel plans. We went back to the hotel and the manager walked us around the corner to a travel agent to help us. Then the manager helped us plan a pleasant day so it wouldn't […] be wasted time. Excellent location, pleasant hotel and efficient

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel De La Ville in Florence. Great central location, very helpful staff, good breakfast buffet, nice room. Everything was so nice. Only down side were the beds - a bit hard. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Hotel, Wonderful location centrally located. Wonderful experience only downsize was the staff. They tend to be more business formal and not very friendly...even the breakfast staff was very cold. Through my travel experience I have found that "people" and there interaction is what creates memories and an experience.

The hotel was excellent. Good location. Nice room. Quiet. However, the front desk staff was at best indifferent to us, and it seemed as if we were a bother to them every time we stopped at the front desk for a reservation or some direction.
