Croce Di Malta Hotel - Florenz

Das große Plus des Hotels ist sein Garten und der kleine Pool mitten in der Stadt. Ich war jetzt zum 4. mal dort und wir hatten diesemal ein sehr kleines Doppelzimmer und grundsätzlich habe ich immer, wenn ich über Sie (oder Expedia) buche Zimmer zur Straße, nie nach hinten. Vorne ist es schon laut. Hinten sehr ruhig.

Das Hotel liegt günstig im Zentrum von Florenz. Allerdings ist es nicht das sauberste. Wir haben eine Junior Suite gebucht und leider war das alles anderes als eine schöne Erfahrung. Wir sind im Bett mehrfach gebissen worden und Moskitos waren nicht in Sicht. Vier Sterne ist das Hotel auf keinen Fall wert. Schade.

Ausfall der Zimmerheizung am 2.Tag zwang uns zum Umzug in ein anderes Zimmer (trotz dieser Unannehmlichkeit konnten wir uns "verbessern"!). TV: 7 italienische Kanäle, in deutsch nur SAT 1 und RTL2, deren Nachrichtenangebot sehr dürftig ist. Zimmerservice sehr gut. Bar war abends geschlossen ( das lag vermutlich an der geringen Belegung zu dieser Zeit) Preiswerte […] Lokale in unmittelbarer Umgebung des Hotels Kein Touristenrummel zu dieser Zeit: Sogar beim Eintritt in die Uffizien keine Wartezeit Mehr

ein wirklich sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel nicht nur bezüglich Preis/ Leistung

Das Hotel liegt im Zentrum von Florenz, das ich sehr positiv. Der schöne Innenhof war sehr ungepflegt. Es war schmutzig und überall lagen Zigarettenstummel herum. Schade! In der Nacht wurden wir immer wieder von der lauten Warmwasseraufbereitungsanlage, die sich dauernd ein- und ausschaltete, aufgeweckt. Unzumutbar!

Good location, Nice Staff But facilities is old and dirty, like the shower Price is not worth

This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Firenze train station. Hotel staff was very friendly and we were given a room upgrade. The room was very nice! I would recommend this hotel, we got a great deal.

Great quaint hotel in the heart of Florence. Surrounded by wonderful restaurants and close to train station for day trips.

We stayed for two nights, I feel a slightly bad about the poor review because the staff were friendly and helpful. that being said, the room was unbelievably loud. We didn't sleep for either night. Also, the wifi was completely unavailable, the TV didn't work at all, and the list goes on and on. I would look elsewhere unless the price is REALLY right. […] The location is decent but It's a two star at best. As an aside, the restaurant that's attached to the hotel (wine bar) had really poor food and the waiter tried to pour me corked wine out of a decanter which, I had to fight to get reimbursed. Mehr

Besides the bad Wi-Fi connection (unable to receive signal in room and had to connect downstairs) and repeated signal interuptions, hotel was a great place to stay!

We had the best stay here during our Italy trip. The location is very central , not only to the station but to all the tourist spots in Florence. The room was clean, breakfast was scrumptious and service was good. The only issue was that the wi-fi is not strong enough so you need to come down to the lobby to access the internet. Location was quite good. Breakfast could offer a bit more variety day-to-day. Coffee from the machine was very poor - so you need to ask the staff to make it. Not everybody knows that. Internet didn't work from the room. In the downstairs guest area - it worked for 5 mins and stopped as well. They need to do something about it. The rest was great.

Warning: This is NOT a four star hotel. Upon checking in I was put in a room that was horrible: tiny, dirty with a bed that was very low to the ground. After complaining, they put me in a better room. But by American standards, I would put the room and the hotel at "two star". The bathroom was fine and very clean. But the room needed to be cleaner. This […] hotel needs to spend money to buy new furniture for the rooms - as the furniture is old and somewhat shabby. The free Continental breakfast was very good! Great pastries, good selection of fresh foods that were replenished often. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel also needs to spend money on refurbishing the hotel: they need new carpet in the hallways and better lighting. The hallways are dark, not very clean and look pretty shabby. The room, the location, the courtesy of the front desk people, and the breakfast, were according to the expected and I was very satisfied. The shower and tub at the lower level need at least a curtain; otherwise when you take a shower it will be difficult not to have a wet floor. The bathroom in the upper level is quite uncomfortable since you cannot […] sit in the toilette without your legs hanging inside the shower, and when taking a shower it is quite small for a large bodied person. It is a fine hotel with a charming feel. Our period style room was a suite with two levels and was very comfortable with a fridge, lounge area and modern shower room down stairs and very large bed, a safe, and full bath and shower upstairs. The only problem was, it was on the front of the hotel overlooking the street which was very noisy with revellers […] and traffic at night and more traffic early in the morning. It was impossible to keep out the sound even by closing the internal shutters. So we found it difficult to sleep. Something should be done to deaden the sound either by an addional inside window or thick heavy curtains which can be closed fully. For a 4 star hotel the breakfast was disappointing with limited hot dishes which were mostly cold because they were not kept covered, also the variety of juices, meats, cheeses and salad dishes was very limited compared with other 4 star hotels experienced. Convenient, and near to the railway station and centre. The room was very big, well it was 2 rooms in 1 with 2 showers, toilets and washbasins, so no fighting to be first in the shower. Also the room had a leather settee that converted into a bed. So all in all a very good choice of hotel. There was a good amount of choice for breakfast. Would recommend for the price, staff were helpful and a good location

I liked Croce di Malta Hotel in Florence. Good location, just within 5 min from Firenze S.M.N station and easy to access because it's located in front of Santa Maria Novella church. Usually the air conditioner or fan is very noisy in hotel rooms in Europe. We seldom hear the noise, yet it was very comfortable temperature in the room. We traveled in […] summer, on those very hot days in Florence. But we enjoyed playing in the swimming pool in their garden (maybe only the hotel guests can access to it). If I have something to complain, the noise of water running was noisy. (But it might be common?), and I think they can improve their breakfast service better. Mehr

Overall our stay was very nice. Our room was small, but comfortable and having a pool was nice considering it was 95 degrees out. The best feature was the rooftop bar which offered a fabulous view of Florence at sunset. Breakfast was just ok. I'm not sure who has sliced hot dogs for breakfast, but they can get them at the buffet. we recommend this hotel for both sunbathing by the small pool and beeing at tourist; shopping center and central cultural city just a few minutes walk. A bit noisy from street activities outside during night. Very good breakfast buffet and relaxing open area just outside the hotel (St.Maria church).

We stayed in one of the junior suites. The hotel is not well kept, our room was very dark, and in general the pictures do not reflect reality. We doubt whether this really is a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station, and also within walking distance to most of the sights in Florence. The staff was friendly and helpful, and can help with registering for various tours. The room was comfortable and there is an outdoor pool. The bed was the most comfortable one we slept in while in Italy.

We had an excellent stay at the Croce Di Malta. The location is excellent, about 400-500 yards from the Santa Maria Novella train station. When you exit the train station, turn and start walking toward the buildings across the street on the right. On the other side is the Santa Maria Novella church and the Piazza. The street that the hotel is on is […] on the far side of the Piazza. It is convenien if you know where you are going. We arrived by train but flew out and took a cab to the airport. The airport is only 15 minutes away and the standard fare is 23 Euros. The hotel is an easy walk from all the main sights, the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Accademia Gallery. The room was large by European standards and very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good. There was a charge for the wifi, 10 Euros a day. Overrall, we had a great experience there and would stay there again. I recommend it. Mehr

The hotel was pretty good but we had some issues. The first night our air conditioner in the room didn't work and the hotel was fully booked so they couldn't move us to another room. They gave us a fan which worked pretty well. The second night we moved into another room and the air conditioner worked but the hotel turns it off in the middle of the […] night. There are controls in the room but the hotel overrides them. I had to go down stairs at 4am and ask them to turn it on again. When they did they put it on fan so the room was still a little warm. If you stay here I suggest you request a fan. The beds were quite comfortable. Breakfast was okay. The location was excellent! Mehr

This hotel has 2 major pros: its location and its terrace overlooking the city! That makes me recommend it to anyone going to Florence. Otherwise the hotel is a little past its prime, and the service and overall comfort is below its advertised 4 stars.

This is a good place to be in Florence. Usually hotels in the city are really expensive, so this would be a good option if you are not willing to pay too much, but if you at least is looking for a clean room, a good breakfast, and a good location. I stayed there for three nights and I would defenetly come back.

This charming property sits in an ideal location...we loved the charm and would stay here again...we had a 2 story room with 2 baths...the beds were comfortable and the room was quiet...the only down side was the hotel and interior was pretty dated...having 2 baths were great but they were so small barely one person could fit...the staff was very helpful...we […] did have spotty Internet service...overall it was a great place to call home for 4 lovely days in Florence. Hotel is good, we were satisfied with everything, nice staff, everyone speak English,it is close to the train station and the Hotel is located in the center of Florence.The price in dollars is higher but that is an issue with the dollar exchange rate not with the hotel.By the way we met Rick Steves two blocks away from the hotel.

Initial room allocated to us was split in two levels with the beds located in a floor above a small sitting area. Access to the beds was via a metal staircase which was extremely noisey when going up or down. This was obviously a feature in the adjoining rooms resulting in a very poor nights sleep due to noise from the neighbours during late and early […] hours. After complaints to the management we were relocated to a quiet area of the hotel where our stay improved. Be sure to ask for a quiet room! Mehr

Was ok, not sure about the 4 star rating though. The hotel has plenty of character, think the best thing is the location, close to train station and all the sights. Would only stay here again is the price is right, as it was for this booking so was happy with this hotel.

everything was so nice. location was good. The room was so nice. I stayed two type room. One type was a room is made two floor. Here is really so great. There are very big bathroom, two TV, sofa, very big closet, very big window and very big bed. Everything was so great. And another room was also so good. I booked single room. but room size was so big. […] The ceil was so high. Especially I liked big window. And breakfast was good. not bad. Good location, nice clean room helpful staff.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, giving us clear instructions re parking & directions around town. However, I would say that they were not clear about how much the parking cost. It turned out to be €24 per day when we were there in Feb 2011, at a local garage which is the standard daily rate at all the garages in town, so not sure what […] benefit we had being with the hotel. The website is misleading in saying there is parking with a surcharge which suggests some sort of deal with a garage where you pay less than the standard rate. Apart from that, the hotel was nice, the bathroom clean, slightly dated interiors, but a nice restaurant and bar. Over all a good stay and great value for money (bar the parking). The local area is lively at night, little restaurants and very busy bars, but you can't hear them in the hotel. Mehr

Blocks from the station is awesome. I was lucky and got a room with a balcony, which was insanely awesome. Hotel is in pretty good condition, staff a little indifferent but not unhelpful. Excellent downstairs/lounge. What a view from the rooms on the small 5th floor!

This hotel is close to everything, though most hotels should be as Florence is small and walkable. For the cost, the hotel was great. There was a pool and a courtyard that were good to have, though really need renovated. Staff was available t the front desk, but not always at the bar or restaurant.

Hotel is in a great location. This was our second time to stay here because we really enjoy the hotel and the surroundings.

A super spot a few blocks from the train station. Walk to all the sights and views of Firenze. Small but adequate bathroom. Breakfast included and welcome. Only real complaint was a rock hard mattress and totally lousy pillows. But after climbing to the top of the Duomo and traipsing all over town - sleep came quickly. We enjoyed this hotel very much. It was a nice, large room and was conveniently located by the train station. Very comfortable room, although it had the typical European hard matresses. very good value in central florence. The swimming pool was put to good use by our children.The restaurant (breakfast and dinner)) were below par compared to similar Irish standards, but otherwise this hotel was very good. I would definately go back.

Great hotel - very grand & well kept. The pool is a godsend in the heat. Area is not great, but convenient with about 10 minutes from the train station. Roof bar is nice but expensive. Breakfast is standard continental fare.

I thoroughly enoyedmy stay at the croce di malta hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and always very plesant. The breakfast was nothing spectacular but there was more than enough to satisfy. The swimming pool is small but is open 24 hours a day and very welcome after a long day exploring Florence.
