The food was great and the staff was very helpful. With the area I was in the securty was little to much,but it is important to maintain security.

Requested via Hotels.com a smoking handicapped room on the first floor with a refrigerator and a king size bed. When l arrived, it was a non-smoking handicapped room. Two queen size beds and no refrigerator. Night manager moved a refrigerator in and gave me an ashtray to allowed me to smoke in the non-smoking room. The alarm clock didn't work and there […] was no phone in the room so I asked the desk clerk to knock on the door to wake me up. Good thing my cell phone woke me up, I would have not heard the light tapping on the door. I wanted to do some work at the desk, but there was no desk lamp and the table was in darkest corner of room, so had to ask for a lamp, got a shadeless floor lamp. Let's summarize - 2 queens vs 1 requested king bed, non-smoking vs requested smoking, no refrigerator, no functioning alarm clock, no desk lamp, no phone in room, did not replenish the coffee from the previous day, but the staff was very accommodating. Pretty well summarizes my stay at Rodeway Inn in Cedar Rapids, IA. Mehr

This hotel was a place to sleep. No shampoo and conditioner, and the phone buttons were all removed except the numbers to make outside calls. Very strange. The sheets were also doubled over with wrinkles. With all of this, I gave it a 3 because I was very tired and just wanted to sleep.

Nice sized room. They kicked somebody out for having a pet in their room when we got there. So it does show they are strict about no pets which is understandable.

There were BED Bugs! I told manager he could barley sleek English no lightbulbs in room cigratte hole in bedding and carpet the lock did not work on the door!! Had to go get cleaning supplies and clean room and then ending up leaving and going to a Country Inn& Suiets much better there! Someone needs to turn this place in Please!!!

The bathroom mat had been used. The Breakfast was bad! The OJ was spoiled along with the stale Cereal

This is awful no wifi. Dirty kitchen area, water down coffee and apple juice. The sheets were stained. Don't go sleep in ur car it's better.

We booked our reservation by phone rather than on-line because we wanted to ensure that there were no outrageous extra fees for the dog we travel with. We arrived at the hotel at about the time that it was getting dark, and that was perhaps part of the issue. The Rodeway is in a commercial / industrial area of Cedar Rapids and I suppose that they don't […] cater much to "tourist" travellers. To say that it is in a rough neighborhood would be kind. We found out upon arrival that although they didn't have the fees, they did have a 20 lb size limit. Hotels.com quickly got us another hotel reservation in a different part of town. Beware. Mehr

Hotel was selected in spite of a few questionable reviews, thinking the number of reviews were small and may not have been representative. After not being happy with the cleanliness of the room (dirty carpet, marked up walls, dirty ash tray in a nonsmoking room) and being told it was our fault for not reporting more timely,, (we were there maybe an […] hour), we made a comment to the manager saying 'I guess the reviews were right'. His response was, "I don't pay attention to the reviews",,,which confirmed our suspicion. Hospitality NOT a priority. Cost was reasonable until the extra fees were added for a pet and 3rd adult. Not really fancy but easy to get to with a great price. Well cared for with friendly service. Free breakfast was pretty limited but still free. Would certainly state here again.

When we checked in we heard birds chirping. We were told they had 3 birds there and said, "wait until you hear the dog". Not knowing what that meant, we forgot about the comment. After settling in, we left the hotel. On the way to our car, the desk fellow had the big black dog on a leash. Seeing us, the dog barked like crazy, pulling at the leash, trying […] to get to us. If the hold on the leash had been dropped, I shudder to think what would have happened. Getting into our car, we saw a woman leaving the hotel and the dog did the same, startling the woman as it did, us. When we got back to the hotel, we told the man we did not appreciate the action of the dog. Smiling, he said it "was a guard dog" and seemed proud of its behavior. We thought it was awful, and very scary behavior!! When we check in to a hotel and pay good money to do so, we expect to feel safe while there - not threatened by a guard dog! We've never encountered situations like this anywhere else we have ever stayed. Is this known about by managers?? Should scaring patrons be allowed? The whole situation was VERY inappropriate. I will never stay here again they charged rooms to my account that were not mine and Discover is diputing. The room was dirty blood on the wall and the staff were very rude. No one that weekend was happy. The manager yelled at customer it was the worst experience of our life.

This motel was typically of 2 star motels in this relative price range. The people were friendly, the room was typical for such hotels, in terms of cleanliness, and wear of rugs, paint, bedspreads, etc. The bed was more comfortable than many. We didn't check in until after 11pm and the front desk clerk (and owner I think) rushed to the door to let us in and was the most pleasant clerk we had ever come into contact with. My boyfriend was walking in one of the two nights and was carrying several drinks. The same clerk called our room and offered a portable cooler to use while there! The daytime […] clerk (I think owner's wife) was also one of the best we had ever met. Decent breakfast, indoor pool, and comfy bed. Couple minor things that could have been in better condition in our actual room, but all staff we met over-ruled those minor things. This has now became our favorite hotel in Cedar Rapids, well and probably in top 3 favorite of all hotels I've ever been, too! Mehr

It was a great place to stay. Very quiet. Nice room. Big enough. Never went to the pool. The breakfast was fine.

very friendly staff, clean rooms, close to Amana, IA

Rooms were dirty. Bug under pillow. No frig or microwave in room like website states. Hotel staff not willing to assist with cancelation due to unsanitary room conditions. Office manager did not speak very good english, hard to understand.

Clean and comfy room, friendly service especially the maid service. Wasn't in the best neighborhood but wasn't the worst either.
