Marriott San Diego Mission Valley - San Diego

This hotel was very nice centrally located close to all major freeways in SD. Not far from downtown, zoo, sea world, mission beach. Excellent shopping Fashion Valley Mall 5 minute driving Mission Valley walking possible lot of stuff in walking area. I had fun.

Not at all impressed with this hotel very old decor sixteen dollars a day to park your car in their lot, or park out on the street which only had like 10 spaces everything else was a fire zone. Had to call maintenance to the room to turn the heat off and reconnect the air we were sweating in the room. Nothing complimentary like breakfast, my husband […] went down to the lobby thinking he could grab a breakfast bar or juice, he was told immediately sorry, nothing is complimentary. The only reason we stayed at this hotel was my doctors office was three blocks away, we will never stay there again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!! 4 and a half star hotel, i don't think so.:( Mehr

I was here on business. The bed & pillows were awesome. I went to workout & there were men everywhere (maybe a conference). They hogged the machines & when the guys got off, there were others lifting weights behind it. I didn't workout because I felt like they'd be looking at my butt the whole time... Otherwise, the hotel was great. I ate there too […] & the food was decent, I just couldn't work off the calories at the gym after :) Mehr

The hotel was just ok and just average for the price per night...

Standard Marriott quality. $14 charge to self-park. $18 for Valet. Neither a good deal. Next time we'll stay where there is free parking.

We picked the hotel because of location near Qualcom Stadium. The trolley was right there to take us about anywhere to in San Diego and also to the stadium if we wanted to go that way. We would stay there again. The included breakfast was great.

Great hotel...Great pool... we enjoyed our three day stay.

This hotel is great, but the room was way too small!

BEFORE YOU PUT PEOPLE IN THIS ROOM, YOU SHOULD AT LEAST PAINT THE WALL IN THERE. IT WAS DISCOURAGING TO MEET PEOPLE THERE AND NOT EVEN INVITE THEM UP FOR A DRINK. IT LOOKED LIKE THE WALL WAS WRITTEN ON ,AND SOMEWHAT COVERED UP.

Front desk personnel were very helpful with directions, particularly when heavy rain made some of the surrounding roads impassable and alternate routes were necessary to reach various destinations within the city. This hotel is located conveniently close to many of the sites of interest in San Diego.

In summary: - No trouble with online reservation through hotel booking service. - Checked in without any problems. - A bit annoyed at the cost to park each day. ($14) - Free wireless in the lobby, but pay for a wired connection in the rooms; a bit backward. - Room clean, odorless, and regularly straightened by housekeeping. - Halls somewhat noisy, audible […] in room. Great room, very convenient for business travelers and vacationers. Just two things to watch out for: 1. the beds are way too soft, never had a comfortable nights sleep, and 2. They do a lot of business parties around the pool area, so it was closed a lot. Seems like every time I wanted to use the pool facilities, it was closed for another party.

At first I was frustrated that are room that we requested and had paid for(already taken out of my checking account) was not available and they wanted 4 adults to go to a King size bed. But after the clerk did checking she finally found us a room and the rest of our stay was wonderful. Everyone was polite and nice. I would stay at this hotel again.

This hotel is very nice. It's very close to Qualcomm stadium, and there are lots of shopping and restaurants very very close by. If you don't really want to be downtown, this is a great place. Away from the downtown business, but still only 15-20 minutes away from the beaches. The Metro line stops right at the back of the hotel as well, so it's easy […] to get anywhere, even without a car. The hotel itself was AMAZING! Very beautiful, clean, and nice rooms. The staff was all very friendly and the amenities were perfect! However, the hotel was fairly far away from everything. It is by a lot of condo's and has no night life to speak of. I would highly recommend this hotel to people who aren't looking to party in downtown.

Friendly staff, nice room. Try to park off-site for free.

This should be a 4 star hotel HOWEVER, they skimp on bath towels and some are stained to boot. The bed, while it looks nice (the linens) sagged A LOT and felt like a hammock. Also, there is a $14 per day parking fee, regardless of whether you are a guest. Other than these issues, the hotel is great.

Beautiful Hotel.. great location for seeing San Diego, but hotel nice enough that you may not want to leave. Beautiful pool area.

Surprisingly no flat screen TV, difficult to navigate remote. Not very good shower, only two large towels and oe robe (for two guests). Can hear people taking shower in rooms around.

The hotel was really nice. I met my husband there. He was on leave from the military and I hadn't seen him for eight months, so it was a great place to have a mini vacation! The only two things that I did not like was paying money per day to park in the hotel's parking lot and paying for water bottles that were in the room.

Far from downtown, you will need a car.

This is a kids friendly hotel. Upon check in, we were given beach toys for our 2 boys. Had dinner at the restaurant and the hotel was having movie night by the pool showing "Bolt". The room was ok. Found a long hair on the bathroom floor which should have been invisible to the cleaning crew. The pillows were too soft. Overall, it was a nice, kid friendly […] hotel. Would stay there again. Mehr

The hotel was very clean and nice. My only complaint is that they charged $15/day for parking and didn't have free Wi-Fi, that was an extra $12.00/day. But if you don't mind spending the extra cash it was a lovely place.

The room was very nice. The staff was very professional courteous and kind. The bed was very comfortable. The only bad comment I have is the parking. We paid $14 to park off the street but because of space the parking spaces were very small. Only a sub compact car would fit in the spaces. We had a new car and I was fortunate to park next to an SUV that […] had to take up 1 and a half spaces so I took the other part and my space. There was no way to park in the space right without having your door hit the car next to you or theirs hiting yours. Mehr

This hotel is waaay out of the way considering other places in SD I've stayed at. Rooms are average, as is everything else in the place. Not bad, but nothing I'd go to unless I had a meeting in that specific hotel.

this hotel was extremely nice. the pool was amazing and had many things for my sons to play with. the lounge area was/is awesome and so is the gym. exceeded my expectations tremendously. the staff was also friendly and i now foudn the place where i will stay from now on in san diego. i do come often and have stayed at many of the hotels.

The hotel was nice, and had many features that we enjoyed. The elevator was down, so it took quite a while to get an elevator up to our floor/down to the lobby. The restaurant is quite expensive ($20+ per entree), and there were some renovations to the main restaurant being done, so makeshift tables were set up very close to the lobby - in a busy area. […] The staff was very kind and helpful, and constantly asked if we needed anything. The only exception to that was the bartender, that rarely manned the bar, so the service was very slow. The drinks were very strong though, when you finally got them, which was a plus, since the bar was very expensive as well. Drinks averaged $10. The pool area was amazing and relaxing, and the staff there were friendly, offered prompt service for ordering drinks or food, and towels were constantly replenished. Close to downtown and the beach (~15 mins). My main complaint would be that the maids knock on doors beginning at 8am(!) to ask if they can clean. Put a Do Not Disturb sign on your door if you are not an early riser! :) Mehr

The hotel lobby was great, while we were waiting in line to check in we were able to snack on hot smore chocolate chip cookies and milk. The hotel lobby also had complimentary strawberry water. This summer Marriott is having a deal where we got 4 free movie tickets, the only problem was when we got to the movie theather they did not take the tickets. […] We found out later that only some theathers participate, however if you go to a theather that says they do not take the hollywood money you can buy the tickets and then send in your receipt and the hollywood money coupon and get a rebate. The hotel room was very clean and had nice bath and body shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The pool also looked beautiful. The hotel is also close to many restaurants and malls. Mehr
