San Diego Marriott La Jolla - La Jolla

We stay in Marriott Hotels whenever possible because of the consistency. But with this stay we found the room to be very small and needing a "facelift". The colors were dark and dingy. The mattress was definitely slept on one side more than the other as it literally sloped to one side when laying on it. This room was not up to Marriott standards.

This was my first trip to San Diego and I loved every minute of it! The hotel was beautiful, I could walk to get breakfast at my favorite bagel place and coffee shop. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here before and always have a great experience. The hotel is very clean and everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Had a glitch in my parking bill and they took care of it immediately with no questions asked. Highly recommend The Marriott in La Jolla!

I had higher expectations from the Marriott. The room was small. It did not have the "wow" factor. It wasn't very clean. The sheets were torn and the room was dusty. It just looked run down. I was disappointed.

From hotel staff to room to convenience this hotel has it all!!

The place was full but the staff was very nice and accommodating with our requests. I was impressed after a previous stay with the facilities. Would return on my next trip with great pleasure. And good location for all services as well.

The location is perfectly suitable for the visitors of UCSD since the free shuttle stop is at nearby area. Our room is clean, but somehow it's very outmoded. The socket comes off the wall and the rug has some stains. The hotel won't provide you the frig, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste ans so on, unless you ask for them.

The room was small but nice. Staff was wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. Service was very good. My only issues were these: 1. tell us we have to pay $20/night for parking. We were lucky to find parking on the street just down the hill for free. 2. Room is advertised 'with balcony.' But the balcony was so tiny that there was no room for a chair […] & table to sit on it and enjoy the view. It was standing room only. Not the balcony we were expecting. 3. The indoor pool & whirlpool are surrounded by exercise equipment. It was unusual, and made the whirlpool less enjoyable. Otherwise, and overall our experience was very satisfactory! Mehr

My eleven year old son enjoyed every minute of his stay. 4 days 3 nights! he loved the indoor/outdoor heated pool+ jacuzzi. Old but elegent hotel definitely will stay again. Hotel staff very helpfull and friendly.

Great place to stay. Short drive/taxi to gaslamp.

We made reservations at the last minute and were initially given a room in which the elevator noises kept us awake. We complained to the desk clerk and he immediately moved us to a much more luxurious and quiet room with a balcony. He also gave us 10,000 Marriott points! Pretty good stuff, but needs an upgrade/reno

The entire staff was warm, friendly and professional -especially William and the parking attendant. Pool was a perfect temp. Loads of fitness equipment! Other than a little trouble with the heating ( I could not get the room quite warm enough the first night - second night was fine. VERY comfortable beds. All in all - an exceptional hotel. I have stayed several times at this hotel due to its location, close to my need. The staff y very friendly and the Room service has been great! The hotel facilities are a bit old, but it is still worth the stay.

We stayed here on a family vacation with a toddler. Room overall is very clean and comfortable but it's a bit small, not much room for kids to run around. There's not much counter space, so with all of the things that come with traveling with a toddler, it was a bit challenging to place and use the necessities. The standard breakfast is simple, nothing […] spectacular but good enough because it was convenient to grab a quick bite and head out the door. Would stay here again, only if traveling without the kid. Mehr

Very comfortable. Great service. Super health club and pools. The breakfasts were wonderful. Parking and internet charges a bit excessive. Moved over to the Sheraton La Jolla after staying here and wish I had stayed (even at a higher cost) - can't imagine how these two hotels get the same rating. The Marriott was MUCH better.

Hotel common areas like the lobby and lounge areas are very nice. The rooms are fair. And the noise from the elevators is extremely obnoxious.

Overall conditions and service was up to par; however, one criteria I use to judge a hotel is the quality of its towels and Marriott left a lot to be desired due to the thin towels provided, i.e, one shower and the towel could almost be wrung out.

We happy to have choosen San Diego Marriott La Jolla hotel for our stay in La Jolla. The room was very confortable and clean. The hotel service was excelent. The location close to the sights scene areas. We will stay here again.

desk staff had poor attitude all shifts. hotel staff was short handed. rooms were very small. pillows had feathers. 20 dollars a day for parking.

The stay was very pleasant and satisfying but this is the first time that I have to pay for parking, $20 per day is stiff. The upfront money intended for hotelroom items that I may consume is another surprise. All places I've been, hotels provided complementary items including parking and breakfast. This extra charges on top of the advertised price […] maybe a turn off for some future guests. Mehr

very nice place, friendly staff with welcoming attitude, great customer service overall!

The room itself was quite nice and the staff I personally encountered were very friendly. It was only later that I discovered that they had erroneously charged a $123 restaurant bill to my room. What was even more strange was the fact that even though I was around the corner and several rooms away from the elevators, I could still hear the whine of […] their motors every time they were used. At first I thought it was the wind, but it wasn't windy outside. The sound must have been carried through the vents. The biggest disappointment was the sound that the neighbors' doors made as they let them close on their own. It seriously just about rattled the room about every 10 minutes as my neighbors left before me. The noise was about as loud as you would expect your own door to make, not those down the hall. I did give a "yes" to a recommendation because the hotel is still pretty nice and is in a nice location, but that goes ONLY for BUSINESS travelers who intend on getting up early. If you are there on leisure and expect to sleep in to the incredibly late hour of 8 AM, then I would say stay SOMEWHERE ELSE. Mehr

Great place to stay. Only gripe is that you have to pay for parking, $20 per day is a bit steep for guests. While jogging I noticed the office complex around the corner had daily parking rates of $10 per day and I will use that option if I ever am in La Jolla again!

we arrived late at night...check in was a nightmare because they gave us at first an unmade room. To make up for that error, we were upgraded to a jr suite. Problem was that their card keys could not open the door. We tried 3 different sets of keys to no avail. Except for that problem, everything else was almost perfect. Their breakfast buffet is excellent […] and well worth the price. Rooms are quiet and bed is very comfortable. Parking is pricey. No wifi in rooms. Mehr

I was in town, UCSD Marriot, and needed to place to stay. The price was good and the quality and cleanliness was awesome. I booked a regular room and it's restroom and bed room reminds me of Palazzo in Vegas. I did not bring tooth brush, so I called, and the receptionist asked me if I need to tooth paste as well. Also, the brought an extra toothbrush […] for me. I was very happy with the service. Mehr

Made my trip to Seaworld well worth it. Even enjoyed the salsa club on Sat. night . that was part of the hotel

Beautiful , convienently located off freeway hotel. Everything was wonderful. We took our food from the bar up to our room upon arriving at 10pm.... And it was delicious! Overall, i would definitly stay here again.

Great location...seems a little more appropriate for families (but could have felt that way since there were a LOT of kids for sports events). Great staff!

A nice hotel locates cross street from West Field UTC at La Jolla. Got surprised about $20 parking fee，but there is 24x7 security guard stands by. OK for that. Wireless is not available in room. Use wired internet connection ask for ~$13 per day. Wireless in lobby is free. It does not make sense and some inconvenience. Vent directly blows air toward […] pillow area. Not very nice. Lobby has a bar and lounge for entertainment. Other facilities are good. Mehr
