Die Lage ist 1a, das Zimmer war im 5. Stock nette Aussicht. Jedoch war das Bad nicht sehr gut geputzt, in der Badewanne befand sich eine Art alter Rutschstopper oder das was mal davon übrig war, das war ekelig. Das ganze Zimmer sehr staubig, die Gläser wurden scheinbar wenn unbenutzt vom Vorgast nicht erneuert, dicke Staubschicht auf dem Glas. Aber […] wenn man nicht so zimperlich ist durchaus ertragbar. In der Minibar stand nur eine Flasche Wasser. Aber aufgrund der Lage des Hotels, war ein benutzen der Minibar nicht notwendig. Preis Leistung für ein 4* nicht gegeben. Die Lage hauts wieder raus. Das Zimmer lag im 7. Stock zur Straße raus. Die Aussicht von hier über die Stadt war zwar schön, jedoch drang von dort - insbesondere nachts - Lärm von der Straße sowie von Kneipengängern ins Zimmer. Das Zimmer selbst war recht klein, die Möbel in die Jahre gekommen und teilweise schmuddelig (fleckige Sessel). Das Frühstück war dürftig (Marmelade, Butter […] aus Aufreiß-Packungen, geringe Auswahl an Wurst, Käse, Brot), dafür jedoch recht teuer. Mehr

Obwohl wir online gebucht hatten, waren wir nicht im Hotelbuchungssystem eingeloggt. Alle erfordelichen Angaben mussten wiederholt werden. Die Parkgebühren sind weit überetrieben und gren7en an Wucher, deshalb ist ein Anreisen ohne Auto sinnvoll. Das Frühstück ist für den gezahlten Preis sehr dürftig.

Das NH Carlton Amsterdam liegt sehr zentral und in unmittelbarer Nähe vieler Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Zimmer sind sauber (bis auf den in die Jahre gekommenen Teppichboden), aber herausragend ist das Haus durch die freundlichen Mitarbeiter, die bereitwillig jede Frage beantworten, Restauranttische reservieren und Pflaster hervorzaubern, wenn man sich […] eine Blase gelaufen hat. Auf dem Zimmer kann man sich morgens den ersten Kaffee selbst zubereiten, Frühstücken geht man dann eh in einem der tollen Cafes am Grachtengürtel. Kurz um: Für einen Kurztrip gut geeignet. Positives: Service an der Rezeption SEHR freundlich. Die Lage ist super. Nur wenige Schritte trennen einen von der Partymeile im Rembrandtplein. Die renovierten Zimmer haben ein stylisches Bad. Negatives: Die Hygiene und der Zustand der Zimmer ist für meinen Geschmack nicht 4**** wert. Bekommt man eines der […] (noch) nicht renovierten Zimmer kann viel Staub für das Adlerauge entdeckt werden. Besonders übel fand ich: Flecken auf dem "neuen" Bettlaken. Mehr

Die Sterne entsprechen nicht den deutschen vier Sternen. Die Zimmer waren ansonsten ganz gut. Lage ist perfekt. Man kommt sofort überall hin.

Das Hotel liegt wirklich perfekt im Zentrum Amsterdams. Alles sehenswerte ist schnell und einfach erreichbar. Unser Zimmer war leider sehr schmutzig. In der Toilette klebten noch Kotreste unseres Vorgängers und überall lagen Haare herum. Ausserdem sind die fenster schlecht isoliert. Vor allem die Strassenbahn ist auch in der Nacht sehr laut.

Im Grossen und Ganzen ist dieses Hotel OK. Mehr aber nicht. Vorallem entspricht es nicht den Vorstellungen, die man von einem 4-Stern-Hotel hat. Höchstens 3 Sterne wären angemessen. Dem entsprechend waren unsere Erwartungen nicht ganz erfüllt. Preis/Leistung stimmte für uns nicht.

Alles war perfekt, ausser das Duschen war mühsam. Kein Druck auf Wasser und somit war das Haare waschen eine längere mühsame Sache!

Zimmer im siebten Stock haben zwei Balkone mit unvergleichlicher Aussicht über Amsterdam. Komfortable Zimmergrösse, sauber. Hervorragende Lage mitten im Zentrum, zwei Schritte vom Rembrandtplein. Freudnliches Personal. Für Amsterdamer Verhältnisse hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Idealer Standort, liegt direkt am Beginn der Strasse, an dem all die Shopping-Möglichkeiten liegen, der Flower-Market ist direkt neben dem Hotel, die gehobeneren "Clubs" sind wenige Gehminuten entfernt und zum Red-Light-District sind es auch nur 5-10 Minuten zu Fuss. Great location and good value for money. Will book same hotel again in the future. Shame I couldn't get a further discount as I am Airline crew!

Exterior noise made sleeping difficult - better double glazing may be required. We found no air conditioning so would hate to stay on a hot summer's night.

When we arrived, our room we booked had been given to someone else (over booking) but they did upgrade us to a huge room, which was nice. However, there were 2 TVs in the room, but only one worked. The room was a little dated too. However, the bathroom has a bidet in it, which means the door doesn't open fully and has a rubber stopper. I didn't realise […] this when I first went into the loo, so opened the door and walked forward only to find the door hit the stopper and bounced back hitting the corner on the top of my bare foot. A week later, it hurts a lot on the top - almost like it chipped the bone! Other than that, lovely room with a view over flower market. Mehr

There was very bad aircondition or air circulation in the room. You can not breath in the room in the night.

would do it over again tomorrow, close to rembrant sqre with all the different restaurants

Unable to sleep on friday nights. Terrible noise problems outside the premisses.Breakfast in restaurant could not order coffee only. Must take full meal at a rediculious price.

The noise level was extreme as our hotel room faced the street. We were not able to get a good night of sleep the time we were there. I would advise others booking at your hotel to ask for a room not fafcing the street. Some of the hotel assistance was satisfactory and some not so helpful. We were given some incorrect information when asking questions. […] As this was our first visit to the city it would have been helpful to get correct answers. Mehr

Very good location .

Outstanding hotel in a great area of Canal District with a great view. The single bed was two double beds just pushed together but the only reason for that is because there are a lot of Americans that stay there and to accomidate for the American King Size thats what they have available. Staff speaks multiple languages and can assist in anyway possible. […] Best deal out there in Europe! Mehr

This hotel is definitly in need of a referb. It is in a supurb location, but certainly does not justify a 4* rating. You cannot have an iron in your room, but you can use one padlocked to the wall in a seperate room. The rooms are very basic, but reasonably clean. Located just 4 tram stops from Cental Station. Quiet confortable and lots of places to eat and shop.

Very very very old and dated. Needs a lot of TLC. Ive stayed in anumerous different hotels around the world and with the quality this has none at all. You could barely move around the room as its so small even when its meant to be double more like single. Its far too expensive for what it is. photos on this site are misleading as its no near like it […] at all. I will not be recommending this hotel at all. Mehr

Fantastic hotel. Great location within walking distance of everything yet very quiet. Superior rooms have great balcony views of the city. Would recommend this hotel100%. Quick easy check-in and check-out. Very efficient staff. Room service very reasonable price too.

The fact that this is a four star hotel is a joke. The rooms were worn down and dirty. More like a two star hotel if you ask me. I've stayed at two star hotels before and also paid the price. This hotel did not offer good value for the money (it was New Years Eve, and we paid over 100 euro per night - and don't forget about the additional tax that all […] hotels in Amsterdam charge). The toilet reaked of urine, so much that we had to ask them to do something about it. The mini bar fridge had some brown dirt in it (mold?) and was completely empty. When we asked them why it was empty, they said that they had to empty the minibar because there had been so much theft lately. The hotel is located centrally, but the area in itself is not that cozy or charming. There are nicer areas in Amsterdam to stay - that are still central. The hotel staff were quite unattentive and not very friendly; always doing something else at the same time that they were "helping" us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I've stayed in Amsterdam before, and there are better places to stay. Mehr

Used to be the Jolly hotel. Great bargain hotel, good service and great location. "Free" Wifi in lobby sucks, the low speed makes it useless and people wonder in from the street to use it.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking primarily for a well-located base for discovering the beautiful city of Amsterdam (walking distance to most of the attractions, small supermarket, restaurants etc. nearby ...). The room - though not five star luxury - was clean, large and very comfy. The hotel staff was very, very nice, accommodating our […] special requests for additional blankets and luggage storage (great system for this by the way - unlike in many hotels you can't just grab any bag, so we were glad to know our luggage was safe until we had to leave in the evening). The only thing we weren't too happy with were the high parking charges of 40 Euro per day (at the time we asked, but that may obviously change ... plus parking in Amsterdam is very expensive overall, so we shouldn't have been all that surprised). But the park & ride system in Amsterdam is really great, so we simply checked in and then parked the car at the Olympic Stadium for the duration of our stay. We would definitely go back and recommend this hotel to any of our friends! Mehr

good location as only a short walk to most tourist areas,the hotel was very clean and well presented in the lobby and front desk but was expecting more from the room as being a 4 star hotel but was clean and comfortable,and was only a standard room anyway. but after being out in amsterdam on new yrs eve i wasnt that bothered anyway.

Very nice and friendly service. Very helpful. Very good hotel location, in heart of Amsterdam. Our room was a little bit quiet and darkable. Bothroom OK. It was enough for couple of days, by spending most of the time outside. Old style TV (no LCD, etc.), few choice of normal channels. Free internet in rooms would be nice.

location is awesome, rooms are fine. they have internet but it's not free in the room, only in the lobby and 30 minutes at a time.

clean room, good location, friendly staff

Visited Amsterdam for 3 days with my partner, upon arrival to our hotel at midnight after a 3 and half hour drive from Calais the staff could not do enough for us. We were given a great room with a lovely view, very spacious witha jacuzzi in our room which we were pleased with. However the heater in the room did not work, bathroom radiator was not working […] the shower door was broken. We had a very restless night sleep to the point where we didnt sleep and got up to have breakfast at 7am which was very average, When we complained we were given a superior room on the 7th floor with a balcony which we were very coimfortable with. In both room however although it was a double bed we were given two single duvets. very strange and made sleeping very uncomfortable. Staff were very friendly and very accomadting and helpful with things to do. The location of the hotel is good for walking distance of 10 mins to Dam Square and Red light district, about 5 mins to Rembrandt Square. All in all a pleasant trip I would definitely visit again, however may stay a bit closer to Dam Square next time, walking in heels wasnt easy. Have a great time. Mehr

A bit old fashioned, but very nice downtown hotel. I had a very big room, clean with ok facilities. I was just missing free wireless internet access in the room and perhaps CNN. Ok price/quality ratio.

The hotel is in the middle of the city, everything is so close that there is no need to take a train, the stuff knows English very well and so helpful. there is safe in the room that open and close with credit card (No charge) clean towels every day. can walk to Leidseplein, Jordaan, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank Haus, Amsterdam Museum. Tram nearby. Friendly staff, clean room.

A good location, but this hotel is scuffed and dirty. Curtains, towels, beds, everything is old and worn out. And this hotel is not cheap. Also, the worst internet service I've ever had in a lot of international travel. Could not get a reliable connection, and they charged $25 per night for internet! Go elsewhere.

My friend and I stayed at the NH Carlton for 1 night and wished we could stay longer! It was absolutely beautiful, the service was fantastic, and the location was midway between the station and the Van Gogh museum. Most sights were within 10 minutes walking. 100% recommended!

Great Location, Amazing staff and clean space

Unbeatable location a block form Rembrant Square, next to Flower Market and 15 minute walk to RijksMuseum and Dam Place. Largish room, plenty of closet space. Appreciate the large bathroom towels but the lighting was awful - only high intensity spot beams from cieling casting shadows over one's face - hard for shaving and make up application. Good service […] but always a new face at the front desk. The lobby did not feel much removed from the clamor of the street. Overall, a decent hotel, and given this was our first time staying in Amsterdam, might consider other hotels on a return trip. Mehr

The hotel staff was great!!! Really attentive and polite. The hotel is conveniently located. However, the condition of the rooms was a 2 start at most. The furniture and curtains were torn up and outdated. The hotel wasn't worth the rate we paid.

EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD, STAFF SO HELPFUL...NO DOUBTS WHERE TO STAY NEXT VISIT TO AMSTERDAM !!

Really enjoyed my 3 night stay here. The hotel was clean and the staff helpful. The downfall is that their breakfast is 15 bucks a day per person which is not worthy.
