Im NH Giustinano stimmte alles: Zum Mittelklassepreis gab es ein sehr modern und stilvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer (hatten allerdings das Angebot zum Upgrade wahrgenommen). Das Zimmer war groß, das Bett sehr bequem. Das Bad war klein, aber mit allem ausgestattet, was erforderlich ist. Das Zimmer war nach erstem Anschein sauber. Der Service war in Ordnung, insbesondere beim Frühstückspersonal hätten wir uns mehr Freundlichkeit gewünscht. Aber das ist nach unserer Erfahrung Rom-typisch. Das Frühstück selbst war vielseitig und schmackhaft (mit Ausnahme des Automaten-Kaffees).

Das Hotel liegt ausserhalb von Rom und ist wirklich sehr günstig über die Bahnstation Pantanella zu erreichen. Es ist in einem sehr guten Zustand mit Marmorböden und vielen Details, die es schön verzieren. Ein typisches italienisches Früstück ist zu erwarten, das sich in Umfang vom deutschen unterscheidet. Leider haben wir gefühlt das mit Abstand schlechteste Zimmer bekommen, da es im Gegensatz zum gesamten Hotel wirklich sehr einfach eingerichtet war. Aber es war sauber und wir hatten vier schöne Tage in Rom. Empfehlenswert vom Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Wir verbrachten insgesamt 4 Tage mit unseren Kindern in Rom. Das Familienappartement des B&B war Ideal für uns. Die Lage In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Kolosseum und zur Metro war hervorragend. Der Vermieter ist unheimlich freundlich und hat sich bestens um uns gekümmert. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ruhig gelegen, die Betten waren sehr gut.

Starhotels Metropole befindet sich mitten in Rom in der Nähe von: Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma und Santa Maria Maggiore. Nicht weit entfernt befinden sich: Forum Romanum und Kolloseum.

Roms Hauptbahnhof Termini - eine eindrucksvolle und moderne architektonische Sehenswürdigkeit - ist das Tor zur Stadt für alle vom Flughafen Fiumicino kommenden Besucher. Zwischen dem Bahnhof und der mondänen Via Veneto befinden sich mehrere Orte, die einen Besuch wert sind. Der Palazzo Barberini ist ein wunderschöner Barockpalast, die Terme di Diocleziano waren einst der größte Badekomplex der Stadt und die Kirche Santa Maria della Concezione besitzt eine beeindruckende Kapuzinerkrypta.

"Hotel Metropol nicht so zentral"
Das Hotel Metropol ist nahe am Hauptbahnhof Termini - jedoch relativ weit weg vom Zentrum. Taxi vom Zentrum zurück kostet zwischen 8-12€. Man hat ca 30-40 Gehminuten bis zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten (Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Castel dei Angeli, Petersdom). Dafür ist es relativ nah zum Kolosseum und zum Foro Romano (ca 15min). Hotel ist OK, Frühstück […] für italienische Verhältnisse auch OK. Zimmer sind nicht sehr gross und nüchtern eingerichtet. Allerdings hat es im ganzen Hotel Teppiche, was ein bisschen eklig ist. Es ist ein Businesshotel - allerdings ist Wi-Fi nicht gratis, es kostet nochmals zusätzlich 5.50€ für einen Tag. Wir hatten ein romantisches Wochenende geplant - für sowas ist es nicht die beste Adresse (und doch relativ teuer). Mehr

Das Hotel liegt sehr nah beim Bahnhof und die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuss gut erreichbar. Das Zimmer war ruhig, komfortabel und geräumig. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis war in Ordnung.

"Komfortables Hotel an zentraler Lage"
Unser Zimmer im 8. Stockwerk war zwar nicht besonders geräumig, aber dafür erwies sich das Badezimmer als reinster Tanzsaal (mit Jacuzzi und TV-Monitor!). Matratzen und Kissen gehören zum Besten, auf dem wir je gelegen sind. Die (bahnhofsnahe) Lage des Hotels ist für römische Verhältnisse ruhig. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten befinden sich in Gehdistanz […] (10 bis 15 Minuten). Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig. Wohl war der Kaffee im Kännchen wässrig, aber auf Wunsch wurde kostenlos köstlicher Capuccino oder Latte Macchiato in der Tasse serviert. Der Service (Reception, Restaurant, Zimmer) liess keinerlei Wünsche offen. Absolut empfehlenswertes Hotel. Mehr

"Very good location"
We spent 3 days at the starhotel; very good location, metro stations termini or repubblica are reachable within 3 min walking distance. Termini train station terminal fiumicino is a 15 min walk away. Rooms were clean (80's design), staff was helpful, location was v. good. Perfect hotel for a weekend-trip to rome.

The hotel is just in walking distance from Rome Termini train station. There are many restaurants around, taxis are available either at the hotel or nearby. Friendly staff, excellent and for Italy oppulent breakfast buffet included in room price.

"A Good Choice"
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Termini Station. After flying to Rome, we took the DaVinci Express to Termini. The hotel about a 10-minute walk from there and is also very close to the Piazza della Repubblica Metro station, which can come in handy. The hotel was very clean throughout, and breakfast was outstanding. We prefer to stay […] a little distance from the major tourist hubs in the city, so this is a good choice. If you're physically able, walk from piazza to piazza and enjoy the sights. Mehr

This hotel has all the amenities we Americans expect. Soft beds, fluffy pillows, coffee in the room, english TV channel, great A/C, sound proofing. Lacks the old world charm but after traveling in Europe a while you can appreciate modern amenitites. Very convenient to the train station. Hotel was well located for travel around rome walking distance to the Termini station. The environment was clean breakfast ok. the rooms were of good standard. On our first night was uncomfortable as the airconditioning system was not working. We informed the reception the next morning and they moved us to a better room. Good customer service. Communication […] was limited for the price paid for this hotel. you get first 30 minutes internet free only on your own lap top and there after its very pricey. Room was clean (though it was the second room we requested because the first room reeked of cigarette smoke). Service was professional and polite. It was no problem switching us to a different room on request. Front desk staff also made reservations for us. The buffet breakfast was good. Booked a junior suite however am not sure that was what I was provided as the room did not match the description. After querying this with hotel staff concierge advised was not a suite however reception were adament that it was. The hotel itself was wonderful. would have been better to stay near some tourist spots as we were only there for a short stay. The room was very hot, we complained but to no avail The room was barely cleaned daily and the walls were filthy and chipped with certain areas not painted. the drain in the shower constantly backed up and the tub was full of hair. Good choice for a city centre hotel, easy location to get to but can be a bit noisey at night due to traffic so ask for a courtyard facing room if possible. The breakfast is a bit samey each morning and can be very busy after 0900. If you want to use the Internet in your room this is a rip off. However they do provide free (very very slow) access for […] 30 mins in the foyer. Do go out use the buses and trains, these are a bargin and dead easy to use. We went to Tivoli to visit Villa D'Este which was the high light of our stay. Rome is very expensive, I am convinced they charge whatever they can get away with once they scanned you for your dress code! We did find it annoying that they add service charge to the bill then verbally asked for the tip as well ! Mehr

Great hotel front desk. Breakfast buffet was very good. Excellent cappuccinos; I am now addicted to cappuccinos!!! Best part was the breakfast staff...very polite and helpful, especially Renato!!!! He's the best!!!

Nice four star hotel. What you would expect. Comfy bed, good breakfast, good service. Right by train station, and good location (Rome is very easy to get around). About 15min walk to Colosseo and main tourist area. 5min walk to train station. Wlk out main door and turn left - bar/pizza place across road is brilliant.

The location is great, was just a walk away from Termini station and it's not as seedy as I have thought. Very smart, and comfortable business hotel with reliable free wifi in the lobby...great value for money.

"Nice location and free WiFi in the lobby"
We stayed here four nights in December 2011 and had a very good time. The breakfast buffet is nice, with yoghurt, cereal, coffe (incl. a variety such as cappuchino etc.)/tea/juice, bread, fruit, bacon, egg, sausage. Toaster is missing though. No Chinese (noodles, rice) etc if you are looking for that. WiFi is provided free of charge in the lobby and […] breakfast area, but you need to get the WiFi code from the reception (and it only lasts 30 min). So we always took 3-4 codes at the same time (which is no problem). Location is convenient. 3 min walk from Termini train station (where the trains from the airport arrive) and the bus terminal (with bus directly to e.g. Vatican). Mehr

"The Starhotels Metropole, Rome"
This hotel is excellent, close to Statzioni Termini, but keep an eye on your handbag as one of our party has their purse and phone stolen by a pickpocket at the Termini. Staff were excellent at the hotel and recommended 2 restaurants for our party to go to . We were given an upgrade to deluxe rooms, which were very spacious and quiet and clean, nice […] robes and slippers also in the room. Breakfast okay, plenty to eat but if you want toast or boiled eggs you have to ask for them. Breakfast tea was in short supply in the rooms, you couldn't even get it from reception. Hotel handy for the metros and you could get tickets from a shop nearby. Mehr

Hotel location ok for the most part. (Termini - Easy to find when you arive from train. Also City bus nearby.(a lot of walking anyway in Rome). Very good cleaning of the room, and a good breakfast. The Hotel is very clean with spacious lobby. We walked to the Colosseum and to Trevi Fountain. It is in a great location next to the train station if needed. there are also scooter rentals near by. The Washington Bar/ Restaurant on the corner has great food as well as all the other near by restaurants. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very […] friendly and helpful with directions etc. I would definitely stay there again. I have recommended this hotel to coworkers and friends. Only had 1 issue with a room (911) that was next to some kind of generator that made some noise that kept us up at night, they promptly changed our room the next morning. The staff/hotel was very accommodating to our needs. The windows in the room are huge and open for some fresh air. Some of the rooms have a terrace with a small table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. All in all my wife and I enjoyed this trip greatly and loved this hotel and Rome. There are many hotels, but as we looked into them as we passed, we noticed none of them had such a large and comfortable lobby as this hotel. The bar is small with just one bartender so you may have to wait a little for a drink, but the service is always friendly and that’s where we also got some info on the local restaurants and just plain friendly conversation. This hotel is about 35 – 40 minutes from the Fiumicino airport, which cost about 50 to 55 Euros for two. There are other taxi services available. From the airport we just got our bags and started looking for transportation and we were approached by a taxi van and we took it. They brought us to the front door of the hotel. There were other passengers with other destinations on the same trip. The driving was CRAZY, and I live in NY so beware and wear your seat belt. Also the best advice for walking around we got was when crossing a street, at a crosswalk, hesitation kills. Just keep walking and get on the sidewalk as soon as you can. Very good hotel, we even had a nice little balcony. The room was very clean and spacious. Great service, friendly and the receptionists were very helpful. Although the immediate area isn't that nice, it's very close to most touristy attractions and everything was within walking distance. I'll stay there again and I would recommend it to friends and […] family. Only reason I am giving it a 4 is because the decor was very dated and some waitresses at breakfast were a bit rude to us. We stayed at Starhotels Metropole for 9 nights. The room was exactly what I expected based on information on the Hotels.com website as well as the hotel's website. The room was spacious by European standards, the bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. The breakfast was a great bonus and the buffet has a wide variety of food to satisfy most […] travelers needs, not to mention that the coffee was excellent. We utilized the main termini frequently so this hotel was well situated for us. Our room faced the courtyard so it was very quiet even when we left the windows open. Have only good things to say about this hotel. There was 3 of us sharing a room and it was spacious and comfortable for us all. Really clean room and the bathroom was spotless too, we had a bit of trouble sorting out the air conditioning but it was fine in the end. After a wonderful, but exhausting day, we arrived at our hotel not really sure what to expect. We were extremely happy with the hotel. It is well presented, the room was very comfortable, and the hotel was in close proximity to an excellent restaurant. We had a thoroughly pleasant stay.

The hotel location was really very convenient, close to the centre with vecinity to both taxis and the terminal. The service and cleaness were really impressive. However the only drawback was the breakfast; which was not up to the standard. This should be improved with more given attention to varaities of the food. Also the reception staff, though helpul, […] but should be more warm with guest. Mehr
"Great Hotel"
Great hotel close to Rome termini +-400 meters. Room recently refurbished, large and comfortable. Bathroom superb. Staff helpful but the telephone took precedence to me standing at the counter. The breakfast was great a wide selection and great quality. I would recommend this hotel and definitively stay again.
Nice hotel with with attractive rooms and good bathrooms. Walking distance to the central train station, and also the metro system. Not really walking distance to any main attractions. Area near the train is not too attractive.

This was a great hotel! We really enjoyed staying there. It was close to the train and Metro station. We walked there from the train and had no trouble finding it. They were so nice. We arrived about noon and they found us a room that was ready. This has never happened before on any trip we have made to Europe. Most hotels let you store your baggage […] and check in later. We were able to go to the room, shower and change and then go out and see some sites feeling refreshed. The breakfast was very good. There was a huge dining room and so many things to choose from. "Front desk staff"
I was traveling with my 80 year old father on his first trip to Rome and we booked a room at the hotel last minute. The front desk staffer named Ben was incredibly helpful and friendly, gave us great advice for an evening meal, made the reservation for us, talked us through how to get to the Vatican, i can't say enough great things about this person, […] As your first point of contact the desk attendant is where you make your first judgement and he was terrific, thanks again and we will be back. The location could not be beat! We felt this hotel offered tremendous value - one of the least expensive we found for the star rating and walking-distance to almost everything in Rome (we did take a short cab ride to Vatican City). Accolades - Comfortable and supportive bed, nice linens, helpful front desk attendants, large lobby, nice breakfast available from 6:30 -10:15 a.m, excellent cappucino, choice of breads and rolls, sausages, bacon (way too fatty to eat)scrambled eggs, cold cereals, cheeses, salami, ham, yogurt, baked apples (YUM!) juices, bottled water, with fresh fruit […] (apples, bananas, pears, apricots) which we took for a snack later in the day, quiet hotel, good elevator service. Dissapointments - Rome City tax assessed at checkout, drinking glasses in bathroom not refreshed daily, no iron and ironing board, 19" analog tv (only english language channel was BBC) wall adjacent to headboard showed black marks and scrapes (unacceptable for any hotel) breakfast never varied during 6 day stay.
