Kein Internet am Zimmer, und den Fernseher konnte man schlecht nutzen, da er sich im hintersten Eck des Zimmers befand, den man vom Bett aus nicht sah. Es befindet sich aber super zentral und der Touri-Bus haltet sogar direkt davor. Nur wenige Blocks weiter gibt es einen Pool, den man mitbenützen darf. "Klasse Hotel"
Das Mayflower war bisher eines der besten Hotels das wir in den USA hatte. Service war sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Die Größe des Zimmers war mehr als ausreichend. Wir waren zuvor in NYC im Hotel New Yorker und wenn ich die Größe, Ausstattung und Komfort vergleiche liegen zwischen beiden Hotels schon zwei Sterne. Einzig die Parkgebühren waren […] meiner Meinung nach mit 45 Dollar/Tag um einiges zu hoch. 60m entfernt war ein Parkhaus für 22 Dollar/Tag. Wir würden jederzeit wieder im Mayflower übernachten. Man kann die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen, das Weiße Haus in ca. 10 Min, die Mal mit Washington Memorial in 15 Min. Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen, mit Ausstattung, Service und Sauberkeit waren wir sehr zufieden. Das Zimmer war auch zu viert gut bewohnbar, einzig der Internetzugang war zu teuer. It is a nice, clean and comfortable hotel, but certainly not my favorite. I work right next door and occasionally stay here for convenience. My stay on 6/8 was average. The bed was actually leaning a bit to one side. It didn't prevent me from getting a good night's sleep, but it was noticeable. My reservation included breakfast at Edgar. I was seated […] without delay, but it took the server 15 minutes to bring my smoothie and water. Then another 15 minutes to return with my omelette and toast. The meal was good. "Don't bother to call ahead"
My two daughters and I had reserved a room with two beds, paying more than for a king-bedded room. I called the morning of our arrival to let the hotel know we would be late (about midnight) and to confirm that we had a room with two beds. No problem, they said. When we arrived, the desk clerk saw the three of us standing there and was very friendly […] and said she had upgraded us to a suite. Great! When we got to the room, it had a nice living room but just a king bed. No pull out sofa. We called down to the front desk and were told this was all they had, and that they could bring us a rollaway. So while we appreciated the nice upgrade, I would have preferred to have the bedding I had reserved and called in advance to confirm. "Affordable Luxury"
Great service at this hotel. Was checked in by Kellie, who straightened out a Hotels.com mistake, and got us into our room without a big hassle. The hotel breakfast buffet is substantial, even though they do charge quite a bit for it. ($27.50 a plate). Valet parking service is very quick and efficient. But here again, they charge quite enough for it […] ($46.50 a day). The room we had was clean and comfortable. Not much of a view. But, none of us cared after two long days of sightseeing. The bar/restaurant "Edgar" serves up some deliciously refreshing cold beer for tired and thirsty sightsee-ers. Upon check out, we noticed a discrepency on our bill, which Anica fixed quickly and efficiently. The Mayflower Hotel is an overpriced, overrated large hotel. The service is impersonal and slow. The rooms are small; we had to be moved from a postage stamp sized king bedroom at one point. The location is excellent for central Washington D.C. The food service is adequate if expensive. Valet parking is outrageously expensive and slow. The Mayflower did not live up to its standards. There are always not enough staff at the time you need them. Valet parking is terrible, overly expensive and late to bring your car. "quality of catered food not consistent"
Location would normally be ideal, but road construction (4/10/13) causes traffic headaches for check in. Food for some events was good, and other events (lunches) were a disaster (poor quality of food for lunch event) Overall, stay and personnel were excellent. Rate for room was reasonable for the quality received. Excellent upgrades in bath facility […] (but a little small). Quality consistency for food on catered events needs help. I was there for the National convention of Colonial Dames XVII Century. Cafe off the lobby had very slow service and no customers. Food at that cafe was good, just slow service. This is not my first stay. I have used this hotel over 35 years. It is still an excellent stay. The construction on streets is not the fault of the hotel. Hotel staff very friendly, and excellent. "Center of everything!"
We had 2 rooms and absolutely loved it. The hotel staff were outstanding, polite, helpful and made an effort to acknowledge us at all times. The rooms were exactly what we wanted and even the smallest ask was quickly responded to by the hotel staff. "In the Heart of the City"
Part of the reason I had such a good time in DC was because of The Mayflower. The location was ideal. Restaurants, coffee and shopping were close as well as the Metro station. "Friendliest Staff"
Our stay at the Mayflower was a wonderful experience. The moment we entered the hotel, we received a warm welcome from the bellman and the front desk. Our room was spacious, beautufully appointed and clean. My husband and I were especially impressed with Amanuelle, our concierge. He was helpful booking tickets, but moreso than that, he went out of his […] way to make our children feel special. He sent movies to the room for them and called my youngest daughter by her name each day as we entered or exited the building. She was on cloud nine. I'm sure you've heard this before, and there may not be much to do about it, but being new to visiting Washington, D.C., we were very surprised that there was no parking for the hotel, and that what parking there was would cost $20 or more each time we parked. At the very least, you should make an effort to educate visitors on this point. Secondly, […] some of the staff at the concierge desk were quite brusque, impatient and unsympathetic in answering our questions about the area. Customer service was a no show! Lots of people waiting in the lobby for hours to get their rooms. No accomodations were done for early arrivals. Beds were very small and short not suitable for anyone over 6 feet. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"Great place to stay with family in Washington DC"
We had a wonderful stay at the Mayflower. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to the sites easily and the Metro and bus stops were just a block or two away- easy access for my elderly mother. "Not so close to all the must-see sight but doeable"
The Hotel Lobby is very nice and beautiful. The staff is very helpful. The room while clean and comfortable, needs a little TLC. Some wallpaper was pealing, bathroom vanity had a fake drawer front that didn't match the vanity and the coffee vanity showed a lot of wear. The last negative was the gift shop. "Dated but nice"
Was in town for a family event. The hotel was nice but seemed a bit dated. Didnt really have a 'happening' feel. Could be that Feb is just not busy in DC but didnt get that sense when we were in Dupont for lunch, which seemed a bit more vibrant. Olivia was very helpful at the front desk at check-in to make sure our room didnt face an alley and that […] it was on one of the top floors. The room itself was pretty roomy, slightly dated, and the king bed was very comfortable. My biggest issue is that the hotel charged us for mini fridge items simply because my husband took a few items out/moved them around to make room for a bottled water we'd purchased. It was unpleasant to get the final bill under the door on Sun morning with $50 worth of mini fridge items. I called the front desk and they said they'd look into it by sending someone to our room. No one showed so my husband called again and the front desk told him that they figured it out and would adjust our bill accordingly (my husband apparently had eaten 1 candy bar when I wasnt looking). We've yet to see how the charge will appear on our cc bill but it was just a hassle that detracted from our experience. There is also what I would call a wine bar in the hotel. It was alright but I thought 3 shots of espresso for $20 was a bit much. It was also closed to new business by 1:00 AM on a Sat night. I guess we walked away with a slightly underwhelmed feeling.
