Das Hotel hat uns, was Sauberkeit, Komfort, Modernität und den Service (auch sehr gutes Essen im Restaurant!) angeht, sehr gut gefallen. Leider, und darauf bezieht sich die insgesamt nicht so gute Bewertung, lagen unsere Zimmer zur Rückseite, wohl zur Livourne-Straße, hin, so dass wir wegen des dort herrschenden Lärms eigentlich 4 Tage nicht richtig […] schlafen konnten. Ob es nun Gäste des Hotels waren oder nur irgendwelche Passanten, die sich mitten in der Nacht auf der Straße unangemessen laut unterhielten, während sie das Hotel passierten, wissen wir nicht, jedenfalls hätte man jedes einzelne Wort der Unterhaltung mitschreiben können. Morgens recht früh hörte man dann LKW-Motoren-Geräusche und laute Rufe, wohl jene der Fahrer, die einen Wecker ersetzten. An einem Abend (ab ca. 21 Uhr) war der Lärm von Presslufthammern für ca. 2 Stunden zu hören, wohl wegen eines Rohrschadens. Das hatte mit Erholung nicht viel zu tun, so dass wir wegen dieses Lärms, trotz der hervorragenden anderen Aspekte, beim nächsten Brüssel-Aufenthalt ein anderes Hotel wählen werden. Wie schon ein anderer Gast, der sich umlegen ließ, berichtete, ist der Lärm im neuen Teil des Hotels wohl nicht gegeben, aber mit Kind und Kegel wieder umziehen, nachdem alles ausgepackt war, wollten wir auch nicht, zumal man auch von Nacht zu Nacht hofft, der Lärm möge eine Ausnahme gewesen sein, was er aber in unserem Fall nicht war. Zimmer waren (mit Ausnahme der WC) sehr schön gross und extravagant ausgestattet. Parken vor dam Hotel am Wocheende war praktisch. Tiefgarageneinfahr schien uns für den Kombi doch eher eng zu sein. Beim Frühstückstücksbuffet hätten wir (im Vergleich mit den anderen Hotels unserer Mehrstadtreise) mehr erwartet.

Everything was perfect - friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Good location and the room was great (we are a family of four). The only thing I would advise is to provide free WiFi, we travelled through Europe on a three week holiday and most hotels provided free WiFi. We strongly recommend the hotel and will stay there again anytime.

I have written a lengthy review on TripAdvisor which can be seen, but the main points are as follows: (1) the front desk was impersonal and understaffed (many times no one would be at the desk, every time I called the front desk from my room, no one answered the phone), nothing warm or welcoming about this place; when lost luggage was delivered to the […] hotel from the airport we had to come down to collect ut ourselves; (2) the 13 euro breakfast was fine but still overpriced, and was presented as a special arrangement to avoid paying 25 euros. Could not imagine paying 25 euros. (3) the room (#64 Olaf Suite) was clean, but several issues: (a) when a light was turned it blew the fuse of the entire suite, requiring a call to the front desk (see above) when the fuse was finally flipped the offending light bulb was never replaced;; (b) the walls were paper thin such that we could hear a family playing and laughing in the adjacent room until past 11pm when I finally had to go next door and ask them to be quiet; (c) the security lock on the terrace sliding door was broken preventing us from feeling safe; (d) our extra bed was to be charged for 25 euros for the stay but we learned upon checkout that it was 25 euros per night - we were too disappointed with the hotel to argue. I'm a young guy and I stayed with my friends days ago, and since this is a kinda upscale hotel, I feel like they suppose I cannot pay for that rooms (around 10,000 Euros), maybe they need to appreciatte their customers more... Everything to a high, 4 star standard. lovely large room with flat screen tv, king bed, clean shower, loo etc and balcony with great view on tenth floor. 2 downsides were only an hour's free Internet access and extortionate rates thereafter and streetwalkers outside at night as after dark this central shopping area is a mini red light district.

First impressions are vital. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the check-in desk was understaffed to the extent that though we were only 5th in the queue it took half an hour to check in. When we finally got our room key it was incorrectly activated such that we could not get into our room and had to return once more to the check-in desk where […] they were also adamant that they'd given us two room keys when they had only given us one. I stayed at the hotel for one night with my sisters. We arrived early in the morning, and they were very accomodating in setting up our room for us. Although I had booked the hotel for 3, it seemed their records indicated that I had booked it for two. However, they let me know that someone would come and set up the sofa bed for us in a couple of hours, […] which happened. The hotel is located on a very famous street and was surrounded by high end stors such as Dior, Versace, LV, and Chanel, if that's what you're looking for. Brussels is a very walkable city so I didn't feel as though I was too far from anything. There was also a train station very close by. Only had one night in Brussels & crack of dawn departure to airport. We took convenient Louise Metro after arriving for shopping and sights. Downside is nearly $50 fixed rate for taxi to airport. If not for so much luggage due to extended time in EU and early hour we definitely would have taken metro to central train and from there direct to airport. […] It is only about 10 miles from hotel so taxi fee is excessive. I have lived in Brussels and wanted to be in this neighborhood. I also needed 2 beds in a room, all at a good rate, so this hotel was ideal. They were extremely accommodating and since I stayed for over 10 days they were kind enough to offer me some extras. Like many hotels there if you forego room cleaning they provide a 5 Euro coupon per day for the […] restaurant. Note that the only free internet is the single computer in the lobby, although they have a reasonable daily rate, and weekly rate for WiFi. . The breakfast on weekends is only 13 Euros and is a great buffet (more on weekdays). Plenty to do, see and eat in the shopping and historic district all nearby at walking distance. Mehr

This was our first stay in Belgium and were very skeptical of where to stay. We were absolutely satisfied with the room/service/food/bar! We stayed for 2 days then stayed in Paris for 2 days and came back for the remainder of the stay and didn't get in until 11:30 pm and ended up getting a room on the smoking floor due to the hotel was booked. Couldn't have been happier with the Bristol Stephanie. The room was spacious by American standards, and huge by European standards. And it was quiet. The bathroom was nice, with two sinks and plenty of counter space. The Avenue Louise metro station wasn't a five minute walk away, with at least two breakfast places on the way. The Congolese neighborhood […] with its interesting restaurants was also a convenient walk. Hotel service was very good, including the fact that we were able to check in upon arrival from New York at 7:45 a.m. And every day you keep the same towels and sheets, you get a 5 Euro voucher for the bar. I had only two peeves: the in-room safe didn't work, because one of the wires had come disconnected (OK, practically no one ever steals anything in Belgium, so who cares?); and the beds were soft and saggy for our aging backs. Also, beware that your hotels.com price does NOT include a city tax (we paid a little more than 7 Euros a night). Mehr

If you are offered a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the street, be prepared for some very early mornings, as the noise from the commercial vehicles delivering and collecting from the hotel is horrendous.

After a long flight and train trip from Canada, the large and comfortable suite was very welcome. Reception staff were very helpful, taking our luggage when we arrived early. Nice restaurants less than 15min walk away on rue Lesbroussas between Ave Louise and Place Flagey, especially Indochine (Vietnamese, vegetarian friendly).

convenient stay for 1 night. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Car parking is expensive. The fold out bed needed to be repaired by my husband before the children could sleep on it and ought to be replaced. Breakfast had a good choice.

Our room at the Bristol Stephanie was extremely spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. My husband and I stayed in Brussels for one week and all staff members were gracious, helpful, and friendly for our entire stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie. It is conveniently located close to some great shopping and the metro is just down the street. It is not hard to walk anywhere in Brussels, however at the end of the evening we welcomed the 10 euro (including tip) taxi ride back to the hotel from the Grand Place area. The staff were friendly and […] helpful. We did not dine in the hotel, but the food smelled good and the bar area looked very comfortable and relaxing. A couple of criticisms would be 1) poor design of the shower door - water leaked quite abundantly onto the floor - we had to mop up after each shower and 2) some work was going on right outside of our window - we woke to see strange workmen scaling a ladder/scaffold outside of our window. Oh and 3) we never did figure out how to work the lighting - I guess we could have asked the staff what the trick was for adequate illumination. All things said, I would still stay at the hotel. Overall, a great hotel. Huge room, comfy bed and really good shower. Locations is a bit out of the city, but still plenty of places to eat within a 5-10 min walk. Internet is 7 euro per night which is not too bad... The lift is annoyingly small though, and our pram/stroller didnt fit in, which meant pulling it apart each time to get to our room... Beds were wonky soft - the mattress slid all over the box spring. Sit on one side and the other side would lift up. We booked for 3 people but had to pay extra for breakfast for the third person plus room tax (on top of what was paid to Hotels.com). But, the location was great and in the end it all worked out.
