Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport - Birmingham

Hi, i loved the new rooms, really good standard & very clean. Food service slow at night time, to many bar & management staff hanging around & not giving support to the waiters. Management more interested iin the foodball match on that night.Shuttle service to airport & NEC is an excellent service

Our stay was quick but fine. The duvets on the twin beds were too short for my husband. The only other things I noticed is that room cleaners don't do corners...a glitch for me. Staff was very efficient and pleasant. Not sure about the blaring music outside the front door at 6 in the morning!?

Very impressedd with the hotel. Good friendly staff, excellent rooms, gym and swimming pool good. Only critism would be the food - too expensive for what you get

-The 'complimentary' parking is at a surcharge of £12.00, should be made clear in the description -Was not given any information at check-in regarding breakfast nor the above parking fee -Eventual breakfast information was inaccurate -TV in the room didn't work -Shower in the room varied from very hot to cold -woke up at 4am by a noise from the ventilation […] system, no assistance provided from the reception, no other choice but to have an early morning -after checkout it took the hotel 2 hours, and 2 telephone calls to confirm whether my forgotten phone charger could be collected Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, very unhappy with my overnight stay Mehr

Really nice hotel, just a few minutes from the NEC. Meals pricey but other places to eat a short drive away.

Negatives: - 1. Corridor and bedroom door could have done with decorating 2. 2 of the lightbulbs needed replacing Positives - 1. Great location 2. Restaurant and food were excellent 3. Pleasant and helpful staff 4. Price we paid via Hotels.com If deal was available at same price in future we would definitely use hotel again

hotel was great, some staff were a bit off, but overall the hotel was good.100% wouild stay there again.

Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this hotel. The only problem we had was the computer system was down when we arrived, they were unable to book us in asked us to wait, got drinks and waited in the bar. Receptionist came over said they had upgraded our room and handed over they key. Ten minutes later she was back asking if we would mind having a different […] room?? Whole process took about an hour! Excellent steam room and pool facilities. Good breakfast too. I'd stay here again!

Good clean hotel but price of internet was silly - apart from this a good place to stay for a couple of nights.

Hotel was nice & clean with good facilities such as pool. Only downside was the food & drink was extremely expensive for what you got. Probably why the room rates are cheap as they make it up by overcharging for food & drink on the premises. Other than that no complaints.

great hotel, convenient to NEC - great for the business traveller!

Room this week not as good as previous weeks. rm 210 a bit basic . TV difficult to work, room cold with an extra heater. Front door needs replaced- aged . Room cleanliness good but door entrance poor tea stains running down outside. Bar food good- Soup ok but over priced, spice cod with rice very good would have that again. Service very good at reception […] and at meals. Mehr

Staying here weekly. room last week far superior last week to this. Housekeeping could be better around attention to detail- spills down door etc. Food expensive in bar for what you get. Staff- very good

No frills or thrills hotel, just business like, efficient and clean providing a good service for transit travellers or businessman/Sales rep wanting a cheap clean place to stay for a night or two.

Great base to visit the NEC or even start your holiday from with a Courtesy bus to the airport, NEC and Birmingham International train station. The hotel is well situated for all three sites. Rooms are comfortable with a choice of pillow and all the usual hotel room furnishings. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and the Pièce de résistance was the […] magnificent pool, hot tub and steam room. All of which were spa standard the changing facilities were clean with fresh white towels for customers. There was even a fully equipped gym. Yes you could hear the occasional plane taking off but this did not cause disturbance and be assured of a great nights sleep. Would stay here again. Cheers Mehr

Really clean room and pool/steam room. The whole hotel appears to have been recently done up? Good service. Only criticism was that the bar food is expensive and you are a captive audience as the hotel is in an area where there are few, if any, other options. Apart from that, though, excellent.

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay. However, when it was time to pay for any additional purchases, I noticed that we were being charged a 2nd time for our room. We had already paid at least 6 weeks in advance to hotels.com. When I brought it to the girl's attention, she disagreed. It was only when I insisted that we had pre-paid & showed my receipt that […] this was corrected. Luckily, I was there to check, otherwise my husband would have paid a 2nd time. I suppose it was a little confusion between the hotel and the hotels.com. Mehr

I booked the hotel on line and it was meant to be just an over night stay following a concert , but i booked the wrong hotel and ended up here , it was a lovely mistake we found the hotel a lot nicer than the one we had stayed in before and was very pleased with the room it was spacious and the bed was comfortable, the bar stayed open untill twelve […] o clock and we were made to feel very welcome by the hotel staff and from now on we will be staying here instead of our usual hotel... well done it takes quite a lot to impress me... I booked the hotel to get some sleep for a short stopover in birmingham. The hotel was the cheapest on a price comparison website so decided to book it. I had read the previous reviews about the hotel and was a little unsettled after reading. There is some valued comments from some of the travellers however this did not lead me to have an unpleasant […] stay. The customer service was excellent and this is a hotel well worth considering for staying in. The only point I have is that it is a little unclear about the free shuttle service to the hotel. If you head to the monorail and get to the train terminal and go down the escalator to the bus station the shuttle runs every 30 min. It is worth ringing the hotel when you land as the shuttle stops and a free taxi is sent to pick up passengers. Don't be put off by the shuttle going to the train station as it's probably as handy and quick as staying on site at the airport. Mehr

It was my husbands choice to stay for the night for his birthday.We had previously enjoyed stays at this hotel.The hotel is supposed to have been refurbished but when we arrived we were stuck in a basement room which was still part of the old hotel.The bar was ok as was the meal we had there. The room had an inter connecting door which wasnt a problem […] until I was awoke by people coming into the next room.It sounded like someone entering our room.This was around 12.30am and they were still making a noise untill about 3.30am at which point we complained and it went quiet. It was supposed to be a relaxing weekend but we felt shattered on leaving the hotel. Mehr

Either newly built or refurbished, some finishing touches not done. Not very busy but understaffed in the bar area. Clean spacious bedrooms, great breakfast. Free parking, good location to explore surrounding area. Nice pool with jacuzzi & steam room.

Our one night stay was a convenient stop gap although turned out to be a pleasant time. The pool, hot tub and steam room were fabulous and the room was well equiped, comfortable and clean. Our only problem was that our sat nav could not find the hotel so we were driving around a while. As there are two Holiday Inn's in the area we did waste time at […] the wrong hotel. Mehr

reception is undermanned with the result I had to wait around to check in; male staff seemed to faff about doing not much while female staff did all the actual work of processing people; went to the bar for a much needed drink, nobody behind the bar; waited 10 minutes, still nobody behind the bar, so went without as there was no bottled water in my […] room. overall, not much of a home away from home and quite soulless and poor service at the point that you need it, arriving and leaving. no help with luggage offered. room sineage was confusing on ground floor; signs for rooms in the 600 range simply disappeared and you're left scratching your head where to drag your heavy suitcase next.... Bed not very comfortable. Car parking that my Hotels.com booking advised was complimentary apparently should cost. They waive the charge but said that Hotels.com were wrong.

Comfy stay well looked after. clean room and a good breakfast. Free shuttle bus but take your life in your hands.

This level of disorganisation would not be tolerated in a cheap flophouse of the '50s

The Airport Shuttle is free but sometimes you have to wait over half an hour. Make sure you ring the hotel to tell them you are waiting. The staff were excellent as was the indoor pool. The carpets internally are a bit worn and the corridors could do with a lick of paint.

turns out this hotel is on the back side of the airport (was the old airport holiday inn) - there are closer places to stay to the terminal if you just need an overnight at the airport - cost me $10 to get to the inn, - wifi was not included - cost another $30 for that for 24 hrs

from the moment we arrived the receeption staff were very helpful and helped with all our needs advice was given for the best value for money from the breakfast is cheaper if you order the night before and kids eat free fro the room service. the bed was very comfortable plus the pillows were very comfortable we had a family room which was very clean […] and we had lots of room. Next time we are going to be stopping there and we will leave our car there as they is a free bus service Mehr

Helt OK hotell för övernattning vid besök av NEC Birmingham. Shuttlebus från flygplatsen har lite oregelbundna tider, alltid bäst att ringa receptionen och förvarna. Hotellets bar är ganska dyr och vid vårt besök mycket underbemannad. Fick vänta två timmar på pizza, men fick den då å andra sidan utan kostnad. Personalen var helt slut och som en följd […] av detta inte särskilt trevliga eller serviceinriktade. Som helhet upplevde vi dock hotellet som ett prisvärt alternativ. Mehr

Let me immediately say that this hotel is not close to the International Airport. You have to take a shuttle and an airport train to reach the terminals. The International airport has several hotels just around it, and this is not one of them. My room was far from clean. I was easy to see that the person who lived there before me had very long black […] hair. Especially on the bathroom floor. The internet is quite expensive, 15 pounds per day (noon to noon), and then it is even slow. I ordered a fish & chips from the hotels bar, the worst I ever had. I wanted to buy some cigarettes and I walked for maybe 20 minutes or more to find a small shop. There is nothing around the hotel. I have to say that the staff was very kind, especially in the reception. I did not have a bad stay, but I will choose another hotel next time I'm going to Birmingham. Mehr
