Had a very nice time. The Southern hospitality was overwelming
This hotel room was outstanding. It is located 1 block from boubon in the middle of everything. The room itself was the size of 2 rooms and you could walk out the patio doors directly to the pool area. Outside, this room had its own patio set just for your enjoyment. I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to have a good time. This room was the […] Premium King size bedroom. Mehr
"Under Consruction"
We enjoyed our stay despite the construction, this hotel will be up and running some time after may 2012 and will be a prime spot to stay. Only one block from Canal street whcih was a favorite of mine. I would try to stay there again.
"Hotel Chateau on Bourbon in New Orleans"
Hotel is undergoing major renovation so nothing, other than the room itself, was available to guests. Will be nice when done, but did not know until arrival about construction work.
"Under Renovation"
Hotels.com failed to advise us that the hotel will be undergoing a 4 million dollar renovation even though we booked in August for a Feb stay. Hotel was a mess. No lobby, Exercise, Pool and limited to entrance to hotel thru alley.
"Hotel Chateau Bourbon New Orleans"
Was under construction, no pool, no restaurant, no courtyard, no place to put clothes in room dresser. Plasterboard pieces in hallway, dusty. Etc.
"Chateau Bourbon Wyndham Hotel in New Orleans"
The only good thing about this hotel. is the check out process! They are refurbishing the place, and it should be s/d why the work is on-going The coutyard bar was cloased, reno' work. no pool, no gym. The smell of paint all through the hotel, as well as your room No powerpoint/receptacle in the bathroom, had to scramble under TV to get to electricity […] point, my wife wasn't too impressed! As I said room smelt of fresh point, which got a little overpowering. This was not a "cheap" place too stary and in no way did it meet our expectations, would not recommend. One good thing, was the location, right at the edge of the Frech quarter, Bourbon/Iberville street, good location for the Mardis Gras parades in the French Quarter. Mehr
Nice Hotel, but we were a little put out. Hotel was under renovation. No one said anything about this when we booked the hotel. We had no resturant, no bar and no exercise room. Now this would have made for a great visit to the cresent city but in return, was just a visit. I am sure things will get better but not during our stay.
"Chateau Bourbon Wyndham Hotel - Feb 2012"
I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past. It is a great location. Right now i would not recommend staying there. The hotel is being renovated and is a mess. No gym on site... need to go "several blocks" to a sister location. Not really what you want to do when traveling. The chute that brings construction garbage from the roof or floors […] above ran right past my window... i think the crews must have started around 7am. Not really when you want to be woke up while in New Orleans. Mehr
"Chateau Bourbon in New Orleans"
I have several reasons for being disappointed in our recent stay at the Chateau Bourbon. First of all, the hotel clerk assigned us to a room that did not have any type of view out of the window. There was a window in the room; however, it was a view of a pile of mattresses in an alley way. We immediately called the front desk & asked to be moved into […] another room, but the lady told us that the hotel was booked up & we would have to wait for a new room on Sunday morning. The hotel clerk also told us that we would have to pack up all of our stuff on Sunday morning & store it in the lobby until after 3pm. The new room was a lot nicer than the original room; however the hot water was not working on the sink. Since we were tired of all the inconvenience, we decided to overlook this problem. To top off our visit, we found out that the hotel was undergoing a major renovation when we checked in so the lobby was sealed off during part of our stay. Mehr
"Chateu Bourbon Hotel"
The hotel is still under extensive construction/renovation. Our room was clean, but no internet service, no drawers.
I just got back from an awesome stay at the Chateau!! The hotel has currently done renovations and is still working to finish up, but I had a very nice room! Clean, fresh wallpaper, a new bed and nice bathroom. The room lacked some furniture/decorations, but I wasn't too worried about that, it had everything I needed. It's right around the corner from […] Bourbon St, so it's quite, but close to the action. I'd definitely stay there again. Mehr

"Stayed during renovations"
Although there were some interruptions in the water and there were renovations taking place, my stay was still very pleasant. The hotel staff was very attentive and provided complimentary breakfast for any inconvenience encountered due to the construction. I would definitely stay here again and look forward to the outcome of the improvements.
"Construction Zone"
I was not happy that their was construction going on. I am in the construction bussness and no how jobs of this sort shoud be done. Their was no protection from the worker and the guess. That is so wrong. The smell of construction should not have been. Their was no safty set up.
"DO NOT STAY HERE !"
I wouldn't know where to begin when when I say " DO NOT WASTE YOUR $ ..." - granted, the location is great - and the concierge and a few of the front desk staff were super sweet ... BUT .... Our room had NO DRESSER ... and it was the most pathetically sad-looking hotel room I've ever seen - ON top of that, the cable didn't work well - AND we had to […] ask them for a fridge 3 different times, and none of them really worked in cooling anything down ... There was SO much construction going on (the noise was ridiculous) - they had to shut off the water for 7 hours at a time ... I regret having paid SO much money to stay at this place and would NEVER make the same mistake - VERY highly dissatisfied and disappointed ! Mehr
"Under construction"
Warning to anyone considering staying here: this hotel is undergoing massive reconstruction. The hotel will be gorgeous when it's finished, but at the moment the place looks like a building site. The workers started at 8am right outside our door. Seriously think twice about staying here for next 6months or so.
"Under comprehensive construction"
Do not go to this hotel for the next 6 to 9 months. There is construction going on everywhere in the hotel. It should be closed while the work is underway. There are paint fumes throughout. Loud construction noise beginning at 7AM, including power saws and hammering. Water outages lasting 7 to 8 hours per day (that right no flushing toilets at that […] time). Exposed pipes and wiring. The staff is nice, and ultimately this will be an OK hotel, but frankly there are many other choices in the area, and there is no reason to subject yourself to living at a construction site if you don't have to. Mehr
"construction"
construction on the 4th floor was loud and woke me up before 8:00 (on vacation, not work). I felt like they should have compted me something?! otherwise the hotel would have been a lot of fun.
"Chateau Wyndham in New Orleans"
Nice hotel in a very active part of Bourbon Street. Could not sleep for noise. No water in bathroom but they repaired quickly. Water pressure too low and drianage slow on shower. Saw roaches on floor that morning. Disappointed.
"Chateau Bourbon Wyndham Hotel in New Orleans"
We were very satisfied with our stay here. The hotel staff were extemely polite and helpful. The hotel is undergoing renovations, however, the construction areas were secluded and we were never bothered by construction noise. The hotel is situated at the top of Bourbon Street. There is a very nice restaurant and bar on the lower level, Red Fish Grill. […] We found the bartender to be very helpful with suggestions for our trip. We loved our Bourbon Street balcony. Note... Staying in a Bourbon Street balsony room will be an expreience you'll always remember, however, probably not the best choice of rooms if you're looking for a good night's sleep. Mehr
"Right in the French Quarter"
Hotel is located in the French Quarter walking distance to Bourbon Street. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit dated, but comfortable and came with a balcony overlooking Rampart. The hotel is under construction (or, as they put it, "progress"), so be aware that not all amenities were available. The proximity to Bourbon street did make […] it a bit noisy until after midnight, but eventually the noise subsided and we slept quite well. We enjoyed our stay. Mehr

"Chateau Bourbon Wyndham Hotel"
Great location and good price. The hotel's exterior is undergoing some maintenance but it didn't affect our stay. The rooms were nice and roomy.

"Needs Some TLC"
The hotel has been sold and is going to become a Hyatt in March or April. That could be why there is construction going on inside and outside, which makes for way too much noise - and we should definitely be told this before booking. The rooms need updating, badly. The tub looked too old. It really could use complete remodeling, but the location can't […] be beat if you're interested in the French Quarter or on the edge of it. Mehr

"WARNING"
Courtyard under construction!
"Close to all the must-see sights"
the hotel was being renovated so the room needed work. However it was a very big room. The price of the room was reasonable due to the great location and was told that the rates will increase considerably when the renovation is completed. The hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful.

"Great location"
The hotel staff was very friendly. Comfortable beds. ••before booking i recommend calling the hotel and making sure the construction/remodeling is finished. We were awakened by the loud sound of construction, even on a Saturday morning.
"Chateau Bourbon New Orleans"
We were not impressed with this hotel at all! There was construction throughout which we were not made aware of until checkin, and we were also informed that the water would be shut off from 8-5 both days we were scheduled to be there. The construction started at 7:45 one morning and the second the housekeepers were so loud (yelling up and down the […] halls) that we were woken up at 8:00. After checking out we were incorrectly charged and I had to call the accounting office there. The man was not helpful and after several minutes trying to explain that we had prepaid for our room through hotels.com, he finally agreed that they had overcharged us and he would correct it, then he hung up on me! NOT impressed, the only good thing was the location was excellent for going to Bourbon St. There are too many other lovely places to stay to waste your time on this one! Mehr
"Great location, very comfortable stay!"
We spent four nights here before taking a cruise out of Nola. The hotel is going though renovations, so there were some issues with noise and the construction situation, but we were compensated with a free breakfast, and felt treated quite fairly. Parking is $30 per day for valet, but this is in line with other hotels in the French Quarter. Food was […] excellent in the hotel restaurant, and the hotel bar is much nicer than other on Bourbon Street. Overall, very happy with our stay, and we will be back! Mehr
"Chateau Bourbon - Renovation Mess!"
We stayed at this hotel the evening of Dec 19, concluding a cruise trip. The hotel building is nice and big with a nice lobby. Unfortunately beyond that there is nothing to be talked about. THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER due to construction. We were told this when we walked in but being tired from our trip we let it go. The water stopped running from 9am […] until 5pm. We didnt realize how awkward this is. Even the bathroom situation until we woke up. There is a lot of noise from the bar next door. If you want to have a little bit of rest, DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to hear constant rock band and base pounding from next door. The rooms are huge and the bed are comfy that is a plus. That is the only reason we stayed and did not bother moving to another one. The hotel staff are polite. The bell boys are extremely nice and helpful. They gave us Free bagels and coffee as "COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST" for the no water situation but it did not help. Come on bring a full on breakfast at least the bacon right? This hotel may have potential. perhaps after renovations it will be better. Otherwise, please stay away unless you have way to many daquiris and all you have to do is pass out. Mehr
"Very Noisy Hotel"
We had a room facing the street. The rooms have little sound insulation. We were constantly woken up during the night with car horns, garbage trucks, party goers, etc. Then the hotel is undergoing rennovations and loud construction (drilling, hammering, grinding) noises started around 6:00am. Finally no water from 9:30am to 7:00pm. Hotels.com did not […] notify us of this at the time of booking, although expedia did notify a friend who booked with them. Expedia booked them an inner room which they said was quiet. Mehr
"Chateau Burbon"
It was a great location and the hotel was clean and perfect for my family. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The staff was very polite

"Find Another Hotel"
Discounted room must mean the least desirable as far as the hotel is concerned. Place is run down. I ended-up in a room a block from the elevator and with no exterior windows. Front desk staff not all that friendly or helpful. Bartenders were terrific!!
"hotel a mess"
the hotel was undergoing renovation. This is the second time this fall that Hotels.com has set me up with a hotel undergoing major renovation with all the dirt, noise, blocked hallways. The other was the Hotel New Orleans Convention Center. In addition this hotel did not have functioning WI FI. The staff was rude when I continued to inquire about the […] wifi. Mehr

"Comfy and convenient"
We stayed in this hotel for a bargain price, and it was well worth it! We have stayed in many hotels in New Orleans, and this one was just as nice as some that are twice the cost. I had a conference at the Sheraton and Marriott and this hotel was only a few blocks away. It is on Bourbon street, but on a fairly quiet part of Bourbon, so we were able […] to get a good night's sleep (after we partied the night away a few blocks down Bourbon!). The beds and pillows were comfy, and the room was a nice size, bigger than some New Orleans hotels (we had a king room, there was a little table and desk as well). There were really only two issues. 1) the ice machine on our floor ran out of ice, and even though I called the front desk about it they did not fix it in the 5 days were stayed there. 2) The hotel restaurant and the room service were quite expensive for sub-par food (the expense you might expect, but the food should have been a little better). Overall, a good experience! Mehr
"good location, some weird maintenance issues"
This is in a great location and the staff are really helpful, but the building is quite old and we had no to minimal hot water most of our stay. If you are visiting with a very full itinerary and are just sleeping not hanging out here it is fine.

"Old but clean and friendly."
This is not luxury, but it is up to Wyndam cleanliness standards. The complex is HUGE and it's sometimes dizzying when finding your room, but the ceilings are high and there are courtyards everywhere. This is a great location because it's just far enough (a couple of blocks) from Bourbon, so you don't get the noise. The staff were VERY friendly, helpful, […] and clearly enjoy their jobs. The construction/renovations they are doing made some things a pain (couldn't go in the courtyard), but we got a GREAT room rate. Overall, very satisfied and I'll stay here again. Mehr
"Wyndam - under renovation"
The hotel is currently under renovation and I overheard that it should be completed by June 2012. Surprisingly enough, I didn't hear any noise - so that is a good thing. The only thing I have to complain about is the limited room service hours - breakfast from 6-10 and dinner from 5-10.
"Lovely hotel"
The hotel had a grand reception area and the room was lovely with high ceilings and large windows. The balcony looked right out onto Bourbon St. We enjoyed sitting out there and watching all the activity when we were taking a break. That being said there was a bar right under our room and it was noisy until way after midnight. The staff was friendly […] and helpful. Mehr
"Typical Big Easy Hotel"
Hotel was in a terrific location - right off Bourbon Street and easy access to Canal Street and the streetcars. Long winding hallways to finally get to our room. Hotel was good for what we wanted - quick access to the French Quarter. My one complaint was the hotel bar - we went to the bar for a quick drink before heading out on the town and we sat in […] the bar for almost 20 minutes and no bartender. Complained to the desk and they said he was probably out making coffee and would be right back. Left to go somewhere else - after all - it isn't hard to find a bar in New Orleans! One good thing is the Red Fish Grill is attached to hotel - one of our favorite restaurants in Nawlins. Plus, The Acme Oyster House is right down the street - best place for Po Boys and Oysters in the Big Easy. Mehr
"Chateau Bourbon - French Quarter convenience"
Bonus points for being only 1/2 block off Bourbon Street. Fortunately this hotel is huge enough that they're able to keep you away from the overdue renovations underway. We had a courtyard room that was sheltered from street noise but unfortunately had lousy cell phone reception. Minor blemishes (dark decor, drapes coming unhemmed, weird power switch […] options, charges for wi fi) will hopefully be cured with the updates. She's a grand dame that could be fabulous - right now she's a bit of a dowager! Mehr
