Sheraton Orlando Downtown Hotel - Orlando

Ich kann nur Positives über das Sheraton in ORlando Downtown berichten. Eine Taxifahrt in die Innenstadt kostet ca. 5 dollar und das Hotelpersonal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Für unseren kurzen Aufenthalt in Orlando war es evtl. sogar zu nobel. da hätte es auch was günstigeres getan.

I was charged a smoking fee and I don't smoke and have to dispute it now.

The first room they sent us to had an unmade bed. The second room was ok. We stayed at the Sheriton only for the convenience of being close to the theater. Room not much better than a Comfort Inn or the like . No contintal breakfast. No place to eat within walking distance. $3.00 for a bottle of water - are you kidding?? Could we afford it - yes. Overall the hotel was very nice. I just wish that they would advertise somewhere on their listing that you have to pay to park your vehicle. You would think that with how much you already pay for the room, that parking would be included. And I also didn't appreciate that the front desk assistant didn't provide me with the same basic information about […] the hotel when I was checking in as she did for the family in front of me. Thankfully I was listening as she explained where the amenities were or I would have had to call Guest Services to ask what floor the gym and pool were on. I'm not the type of person to make things about race, but working in the customer service field myself, it doesn't look good when you go above and beyond for the "white" family in front of me, and simply hand me my room key and say "Have a nice day." Everyone else behind the counter was super nice and very helpful. Mr. Raymond was the most helpful of all. I really appreciated all of his help during my check in. Again, overall I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again! Mehr

Not family friendly. Only go there for business. very stuffy.

We stayed at this hotel because of it's location. We wanted to watch the old Orlando Arena implosion and had a great view. The staff was very friendly and the area is great if you are looking to go out downtown.

Hotel advertises "free shuttle" to nearby Amway Center. No shuttle available on big concert night. I have a feeling it's never available. It's too close, about 6 blocks, for taxis to make money. The night was freezing cold, and a scary area to walk without lots of other people around. Advice: Take walking shoes and a warm cover. Also, hotel has mandatory, […] expensive valet parking. The Sheraton Downtown Orlando was great with the exception of parking which was a real pain. It is 100% valet which is problematic when you use the hotel as a business base for the day and need to come and go. It is also expensive at $20 overnight and guests I had invited to dinner all had to pay $8 parking fee. Not goods. Not at all convenient.

Very pleasant and knowldgeable staff. Good hotel to be in for any venues going on at that area of Church Street Station or Amway Center.

Very close to Amway arena walking distance will stay again most defiantly!!;);)

We had a reservation made through Hotels. com two weeks in advance of our arrival. Upon arrival we were informed that our king size room preference was not available and we were going to be downgraded to a room with a Murphy bed. This was not acceptable to us, but the front desk girl was very curt and not very understanding. After a bit more complaining […] to her deaf ear, I requested a manager. He was very empathetic and placed us on the Sheraton Club member floor in the Govenors Suite, great view from the 15th floor, all in all a great upgrade. Was just a shame to have had to complain to try and get what we had already paid for, but kudo's to the manager for making a fast and correct call. Mehr

Hotel was nice, but very pricey. You are paying for the location. Staff was very friendly, but they work for tips, too! The room was clean, but there was no controls in the room for the A/C and it was a bit cold for my taste. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We received excellent guidance on good food and entertainment in the area. The hotel is close to the Amway Arena and nightlife- wouldn't suggest for theme parks as that would be quite the hike.

The only thing not perfect about this hotel was parking. All mandated valet parking and pretty pricey.

The stay was very nice. Everyone was very friendly. I will recommend this hotel to everyone.

Great stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed in a King room for a performance we were attending at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center. What an incredible convenience! We ate dinner in the sports cafe downstairs and had a cocktail before the show. The service was wonderful and timely. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the location could not have been more […] ideal (we also went out afterwards - only a $5 cab ride away from downtown Orlando nightlife). We didn't spend much time in the room but it would've been satisfactory either way. We hope to stay again soon! Mehr

Nice hotel in downtown. Clean comfy rooms and friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Will stay there whenever I am in downtown Orlando over night.

When we checked in they only had valet service and you could not park your own car which was nice but costly. They told us the fee for the valet was 16.00. But when we checked out it was much more than that. THEY FAILED TO MENTION THIS WAS A NIGHTLY FEE. When brought to their attention they simply stated "ok" and were rude and not very accomodating. […] Because manners and basic competency are crucial to me I would not recommend this hotel. To get to the point. Love the hotel room. Overnight valet at $16 was required which was not great. Having to wait in line 30 mintues JUST to give my ticket to the valet and and another 20 minutes for my car to arrive for a total of 50 minutes to get my car was beyond unexcusable.

The sheraton in downtown orlando is a nice hotel, staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very nice and comfortable and they have a nice pool. The only thing i didnt like was their valet service. This seems a bit rediculous. During the time we stayed there the hotel was far from full, so your car was parked nearby. You could actually see […] it parked within 10 meters, of where we would be standing to wait for the car to be picked up. So we had to pay 16 dollars per night to have our car parked, where it would be far more efficient to get it ourselves, as it was so near. The sheraton should offer people the option whether they want valet parking or not, because for us it didnt make sense in this case. Mehr

I stayed a night here for an event at the Bob Carr Center. It was very convenient for my 75 year old mother and I to just walk across the street to the venue. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Check in and check out was fast and easy.

Great Hotel. Friendly staff. They could have had a shuttle available to take us to the hospital where the race starts. They said they normally go to the facility, but didnt start running until 7:15, and that was race time. I didnt see any mention of the race (our event was the Arnold Palmer Children's hospital fund raiser race) in the hotel, that would […] have been nice. Maybe we were the only ones staying there. The decor in the hotel was nice downstairs where you check in but the other floors was not worth the price of the hotel. The room was small and looked below average for the price. I stayed in nicer hotel for a lesser price. Overall it was a motel for a hotel price. Below average hotel was disappointed

If you're seeing ANYTHING at the Amway Center, THIS is the hotel to stay at! A short walk away, it was perfect for our overnight in Orlando to see the American Idol concert! Room was clean, bed was comfy, great t.v., great coffeepot in room, bar was great, delicious breakfast... We reserved a room w/two double beds via hotels.com. Upon arrival, only a king room was available. Hotels.com confirmed w/hotel that two doubles were, in fact, available but not yet cleaned. Was not given the option to wait and by the time I got this info, we did not have time to change rooms. Hotel shuttle service is non-existent, especially on days […] with events at the Arena. Hotel staff told me free shuttle ran from 7am-11pm daily and serviced a 4 mi radius. No one informed me we had to reserve the shuttle. Upon learning this, we asked for a cab to be called. A cab never came. After waiting 45 min, one of the valet attendants went above and beyond and drove us in his own car to the restaurant. I paid $16+tax/night for valet parking and did not want to pay an additional $10+ to park downtown for dinner when hotel offered free shuttle service. As for the room, it was comfortable except for the two large bugs spotted. A fridge was offered for a $25 service charge (waived after our room debacle noted above). Room service is a huge waste of money. I paid $22 for an order of 3 pancakes with a small fruit garnishment (a few strawberries) and a glass of milk. The pancakes were so tough, we had to cut them with a knife. We were in town to attend a concert and chose this hotel for its proximity to the Amway Arena and nearby downtown along with the so-called free shuttle service. Needless to say, I will not stay at this property again. Mehr

Typical city hotel. Handy for the Amway Arena

I was not very impressed at all with this hotel. The room was dusty and dirty and on the first night, there was no running water. The staff was friendly, but I will not return or recommend to stay there.

The hotel was quick and very friendly. I travel a lot and this has been one of the best hotels I have been in. The service was great and the room was clean and really comfortable. The staff will bend over backwards to help it's guest. It is only 3 blocks from the heart of Orlando.

Stayed here to attend a concert in the new Amway Arena. You can walk to the venue (takes you about 10 mins, and the area can be somewhat deserted, so be watchful). The area has good restaurants and stuff to do afterwards. Easy access to I-4 and the 408. The room was clean, more than enough power plugs, bathroom was OK. No microwave in the room, no microwave […] on any public area for you to use. Parking is extra price. No self-parking, need to pay $17 a day extra for parking. But parking in Downtown Orlando, close to the hotel, pubs and restaurants...I don't mind paying it. Overall, 4 out of 5. Will do it again. And did I say I actually live in Orlando? But staying here saved me traffic, time and inconvenients. Thanks, Sheraton! Mehr

I was impressed with the service of the valet and front desk employees and the location was excellent. I would stay here everytime I go to Orlando for basketball games and concerts because it is within walking distance of the amway center. The rooms I was a little disappointed with. When I walked in it smelt as if someone had just got done smoking and […] the cover on the bed had been tore as well as tears and stains in the cutains. The room didnt match how great the rest of the stay was for us. Hopefully next time the room will be redone and clean!!! Mehr

This is a great place to stay for concerts at the Amway Center. They gave us a free shuttle to the Usher concert and it was only a 3 block walk back.
