I'm very annoyed that the ice machine was closed. I had to have room sevicve every time i wanted ice. Unacceptable.

I stayed at the Omni C'ville the weekend of April 13-15, 2011. I've traveled to C'ville a lot over the past 10 years, and I almost always stay at the Omni. Originally, it was b/c of the convenient location, but I have grown very fond of the place. The service is really excellent -- it's a hotel where the prevailing ethos really is hospitality first; […] they genuinely care about your comfort and the pleasantness of your stay. They're attentive without being obtrusive or obsequious. When I arrived after a long car trip with a 2 y/o and a pregnant wife, a porter promptly materialized with a cart for our luggage and a bag of amusements for my son. It contained a couple of harmless toys, some crayons, and a "treasuremap" and it immediately put my son in good humor. As I was checking in, they provided me with a glass of champagne and (after asking my permission) some sliced strawberries for my son. Our aerobed sprung a leak, so we had to call down for a cot for the boy. They promptly brought one up and it was really surprisingly comfortable! It was also very low to the ground, which was nice for our little man. I should also note that when I went to the bar for a bourbon, I received a very generous pour -- not unusual for a bar, but very unusual for a hotel bar. Their bar is also quite well stocked. Everything was just pitch-perfect, as always. I frankly can't imagine why anyone would want to stay anywhere else. Mehr

I was only here one night to run a marathon the next morning but you would have though I was the most important customer they ever had. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Even though I went a litle past normal checkout time so I could shower after the race, there was no additional charge. The only reason I stayed here was because […] the marathon start/finish was right out their back door. It is not the least expensive place to stay but I have no regrets! Mehr

The Omni in Charlottsville, VA is a great value. The staff, front desk, maids and beyond were all super helpful and kind. We brought our English Labrador and he was welcomed by staff and guests alike. It's really comforting to stay in a hotel where you feel your needs are met and requests fulfilled with a smile. This was a really nice hotel. We needed a cot and it was already in the room when we got there. Plenty of room even with the cot. Beds were comfy and room was clean and fresh. Location was good. Check out the view from the roof--pool is up there too although not open just yet. Loved the restaurants behind the hotel. We loved watching the guys play hockey […] and the curling teams at the ice rink next door. The only negatives were that you could hear people in the hall talking and whenever someone closed the door, it banged. Having the chrome ice buckets was bad when someone was filling it at 5 AM and the whole floor could hear the banging. If you could get past those things, it really was a nice hotel. Great Location, near nice restaurants, very clean and nice rooms

The Omni has an ideal location in Charlottesville. The wonderful downtown shopping area is just outside the door and it is also filled with wonderful restaurants. The University of VIrginia and VMI are within a couple of miles. The service was wonderful and the staff very helpful with recommendations and maps. The only issue was that you had to pay to have wi-fi in the room. I haven't seen that recently and think is really unwarranted.

room too small for a family, pool was great, hotel resturaunts service was VERY SLOW.

Hotel was perfect located for our needs to be close to the Main Street mall. However, the bed was so-so and the pillow were really bad. Best to bring your own.

Had a great mother-daughter weekend. It was a great hotel for the price i paid (hotels.com rate made it a reasonable value). Don't know that I would stay there without a discount though. Self Parking was convienient; it's right on the Pedestrian mall and you can walk to restaurants and shops. Sauna and Jacuzzi were wonderful. Could have used more signage […] to find them, and there was no info in the room about them. I knew they were there from reading the hotel website before my trip. Mehr

We didn't stay long but everyone was overly friendly and helpful. They brought us both a crib and a refrigerator for our room within 5 minutes of asking. They have free parking in downtown Cville and an indoor pool, too. One caveat is that they charge per night for Internet and don't make that apparent until you've signed on to the network. The hotel is great for business downtown or court related. It is a bit far for the University. It is close to the downtown mall and cute restaurants. Also good for meetings. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

this is the second trip we've made as a family to the hotel and we had another great experience, would recommend without hesitation to those wishing to stay close to the downtown pedestrian mall in C-ville.

This is a 1st class hotel from the time you arrive till you depart..Staff is excellent-knowledgable-friendly...I'm handicapped and they could'nt have been more caring. Room, restaurant,atrium area-beautiful place to stay. Location has to be the best at foot of Main St.-shopping restaurants excellent. Price reasonable for this caliber Hotel. What a perfect hotel in the middle of everything! The customer service was wonderful!!!

This is a good hotel by chain standards. However, the reception staff was unwelcoming both to us and another client who was there at the same time. I asked if they were able to give us a room on a higher floor as I'd requested. She did make the change, but clearly we appeared to be a bother to them. For this reason I will not stay here again. The hotel […] was not busy. In contrast, the Concierge, Bell Man and breakfast service staff were very hospitable. We feel that the room was overpriced. The bathroom was quite small for this class of hotel. The location worked well for us, and there was complimentary parking which is always welcome. Mehr

3rd visit to Charlottesville to attend an event at The Paramount. Perfect location, perfect hotel, wonderful room service. Seems to get better every time we stay there.

While this hotel gets four star ratings it isn't as nce as a typical four star hotel. Our room smelled moldy and the carpet had a visible stain. The lobby was adequate for this rating. On the plus side, the location is great and the fitness area/pools are impressive.

We loved the ability to walk to the Pedestrian Mall right outside of our door and the nearby Jefferson Theatre. However, for the price of the room, we would have expected no Internet fee and a refrig. Complimentary breakfast would have been nice as well. Knew we weren't getting it, but would have liked it.

We just wanted an overnight getaway to a hotel with an outdoor pool and the Omni fit the bill. The pool area is small, but well-maintained. You can't beat the convenience of walking out of the lobby directly onto the downtown mall. People-watching, shopping, restaurants -- all right at your doorstep. For some reason we were booked into an accessibility […] room and the roll-in shower was unpleasant as we had water all over the bathroom floor after 2 quick showers. Next time I would ask for a room change to a proper tub set up. We were also 2 rooms away from the elevator shaft so I did hear the elevator motor start up all night long. Fortunately, the hotel wasn't very busy but it was definitely audible from the room. Bed was very comfortable, but no fridge in the room, just a locked mini-bar. Mehr

While the location of the hotel is ideal it was the hospitality of the employees that made this experience perfect. This hotel is adjacent to the wonderful shops and botiques that span 8 to 12 blocks of the city. Some say it is the essence of Charlottesville. The grace and cordiality of the people is hard to describe. When we entered the C & O restaurant […] several blocks from the hotel they knew I was a train buff. When a big freight train was passing the station the manager asked us to step outside and see the long C & O freight train until our entre was ready. This hotel is located at one end of the pedestrian mall with local independently owned shops and restaurants. It was lovely to be able to walk out of the hotel and be right in the center. One big disadvantage is that we were in the accessible room as the person I was with is on a mobility scooter. The shower was not accessible for her as it was a regular […] bathtub/shower with grab bars. What happened to roll-in showers for accessibility? This was a major issue. Mehr

Great location for tourists. Adjacent to restored Main Street with many excellent restaurants featuring outdoor seating in nice weather. Very close to UVA. And also close to Monticello.

Hotel is nice, staff in particular is friendly and eager to please. Dining room waitstaff especially proficient and pleasant. But, after taking a tour of the Carolinas and saying at several hotels (some considerably cheaper, some considerably more expensive) this is the only hotel in any price range that charged us $10 a night for wifi, and $10 a night […] for parking. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was great - a great view, comfy bed, and clean. The downtown stores and restaurants directly behind the hotel were a pleasant surprise. So much to do within walking distance. Many historical sites as well as the University of Virginia minutes away. Can't say […] enough good things about the experience. Mehr

Great location. Very comfortable rooms and an outstanding breakfast buffet. Professional and courteous staff. My family and I had a great stay.

This hotel had a fantastic location at the top end of the historic pedestrian mall. It was walking distance to stores and restaurants. We travelled with our children and they were very friendly toward them, giving them a kid's goodie bag at check in. The rooms were clean and in very good condition. Everything was really great except that the staff could […] have been more helpful with recommendations for eating with children and the concierge service was not overly helpful. If you're in Charlottesville for fun, you're in luck: at the Omni, you're a walk to coffee, shops, and tons of restaurants. If you're there for business, the Omni is a great spot for meetings and easy access to major roads. Additionally, the valet was prompt and friendly. And the front desk staff helpful.
