The Westin San Francisco Market Street - San Francisco

Excellant front desk receptionist. We enjoyed our short stay in San Francisco. Hope to stay again in February.

We stayed at The Westin during a weekday and everything was nice. The only thing I would say is that the room we got was super small. I'm sure there are larger rooms but we got the ones in the end that were like half the size of a regular one. Still the location was great & the room as very nice & comfortable. My wife and planned a last minute trip to San Francisco no place to stay, and no itinerary. We searched and found Westin and knew the reputation of Westin hotels and figured we couldn't go wrong. Well, we were right. A beautiful hotel centrally located, with a great lobby bar, and amazing staff.. The woman who checked us in even sent us a present one […] evening, 2 glasses of grand marnier, as a welcome gift.. Excellent location. Air conditioner in the room wasn't working the best, but it was cold out so it didn't bother us too much

The concierge's were incredibly helpful and assisted us with several inquiries on restaurants, places to go and fun things to do. Nothing much to do for the kids in the hotel. It was very clean, but was surprised there wasn't any kind of referencing or specials offered for the hotels bars or restaurants.

Great location, very clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Parking is expensive.

Park across the street at the Hearst Building. It's $23 overnight compared to the hotel's $54!! Valet at the hotel gets busy too around check out time.

Everything was first class. We loved our stay here.

With the exception of the "Heavenly Bed" which is named correctly, this hotel was a disappointment . Rooms were small and cold(decor). Bathrooms were very small and dated. Valet Parking is $52 per night while there is a lot around the corner for $25. Location is terrific - close to downtown shopping, metro , and a very good breakfast restaurant called […] "THe Grove" right across the street. Mehr

Great hotel in convenient location to shops, transport and restaurants.

Overall the stay was very nice. We had a problem with our room and it was fixed immideately, plus we were given a complimentary breakfast for two in Ducca restaurant. The room was very clean, the stuff was very helpful and professional, the bed was fantastic. I will definitely stay here again.

Solid 4* hotel with great location for business or tourism. By the jewish museum, Moscone Center and within walking distance of shopping, financial district, and the Embarcadero. My BF and I used it as a HUB coming from NAPA - as our flight was very early - thus, planned to spend the last day of our vacation in SFCO and the Westin Market was Perfect. Great Customer Service and EVEN BETTER Bed - we would have stayed longer - we walked all over. Nice Ending to our days...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We ate breakfast and lunch here and the food was good with great service. However, I mistakenly booked this hotel thinking it was the Westin on Union Square about a half mile away. If you want to stay on Union Square, this is NOT your hotel. A modern 4 star hotel with almost everything necessary provided. Very convenient location and competitive price. It would be better if Internet service is provided with compliments.

In a busy section of town, and walking distance to many attractions - Union Square, ferry building, shopping on Market, etc. Rooms were clean, check in staff friendly and efficient. We didn't have free wireless, which is always irritating. Parking is very expensive - it was going to be over $70 for our large SUV for just an overnight. The parking guy […] nicely directed us to an adjoining parking garage that cost $25 overnight; no access between 11pm and 5am, but that wasn't a problem. Mehr

Really enjoyed our stay and the convenience of the hotel to the shopping area, plays, and other activities. Service was first class . We will return soon.

Love this hotel, nice location, nice view, excellent device, very clean, next time I go back to San Francisco I will make a reservation at this hotel again.

This was the second time we were at the Westin (different location). We hated it. The quality of guest rooms was below standard comparing the price we paid for. Staff at check in was semi rude, concierge lady was nice but the guy in the afternoon was extremely rude to us. He even helped somebody else who cut in front of us before my husband and I. We […] were asking for TAXI info, yet he recommended us to take the bus, " it's cheaper only $4." How dare him! We spend money at the hotel yet thought that we could not afford to pay $15 w/ tip for a Taxi to the Fisherman's Wharf? Mehr

booked this hotel based on the reviews posted on the hotels.com website and I must agree with other clients that the location was incredibly convenient. My husband and I stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend and could have not asked for a better location during our 1st visit to San Francisco. We walked to must attractions (MOMA, Ferry Building Farmers […] market, embarcadero, Union Square shops and restaurants, took the Cable Cars at Powell and Market) and for the other attractions public transportation was very close to the hotel. Service was the standard expected for any Westin hotel. Overall very satisfied and would use this hotel again and again! Mehr

Overall, the stay at the Westin San Francisco was pleasant. The room was comfortable and the staff is friendly. Nothing in particular stands out; however, no negative experiences.

Nothing to note about and nothing fancy about this old and in some way run down hotel. Very noisy AC wakes you up at each start. Area ok. Extremely expensive parking. I recommend to park in a public place close to union square that costs a third.

We had a great stay at the Westin. Our only complaint was the parking which I knew was going to be an issue from previous reviewers. If you are going to drive to the Westin (BART is only 1 block away) make sure you park in the lot across the street. Be aware that they close at midnight M-Sat and at 10pm on Sun. So you won't have access to your car […] during those times. The Westin is located on 3rd St which is a 1-way street. The westin is located on the left, so make sure you are on the right hand side to enter the public parking lot across from it. Otherwise you'll have to circle around which is hard to do in SF. Stayed 2 nights Thanksgiving weekend and was given a spacious "Starwood Preferred Guest" room on the 28th floor overlooking the Convention Center and Yuerba Buena Gardens. King bed room had 2 club chairs we pushed near the floor-to-ceiling window, made cocktails and watched the sunset over SOMA, the hills and the far bay. Unfortunately, the room had […] joining doors with the next room where some late-night revelers were staying with visitors to their room and finally after 2:30 a.m., I called the front desk complaining of the noise and security paid them a visit. Was quiet after people left, but sleep was hard to find with the air con cycling on/off the rest of the night. 8:30 a.m. I went to the front desk and Carmen listened attentively to our experience, checked if our neighbors were staying, and decided to move us right away to the top 36th floor to a room with an expansive bridge-to-bridge view of the City along with apologies from the hotel. The stuffed chair smelled very strong like something I shouldn't say online. They swapped it out for us in less than 5 minutes.

Stayed in hotel with my husband, three-year-old and mom for three days. Service was good, except that they didn't remove the honor bar items as promised. Clean and modern and luxury-like without actually being luxurious. Nice location in the middle of everything. Concierge was very helpful over the course of our stay as well.

Although, the room is small, its very nice and cozy. Best of all is the location. Its very convinience.

Stayed there twice. Each stay was 3 nights, with an excursion to Napa in between. The first stay was in a normal deluxe room (we stayed on 7th floor) and the second stay was in what they call the Grand City View room (we stayed on the 21st floor). Difference was the view of the city for the latter - on the higher floor. But the significant price difference […] was not worth the view. Service was good and front desk staff were helpful. But the hotel does not have many amenities. Not that I needed it, as we were mostly in and out - visiting sights. There is a Ducca Restaurant which serves buffet breakfast. This was disappointing as the cutlery had jam on it. Seems that the table was hastily cleared and set without attention to detail. We had to ask for clean cutlery and for the table to be cleared of bread crumbs. Location is fine - although it is not smack in the middle of boutiques and shops. A short walk and we were in range of pharmacies, supermarkets and Union Square. T-mobile and AT&T were conveniently close for us to get SIM cards for our phones. Overall, a good choice - but no need to pay extra for the view of other buildings from a top down perspective. Mehr

I have to say that this was a great hotel & I would stay here again. There were just a few hiccups that detracted from the stay. 1) When we arrived they did not have the bed size we confirmed when booking. They offered us free breakfast to make up for it, which was very nice, but did not make for a great expereince. 2) Our room was right next to the […] elevators & they pretty much ran all night & made a lot of noise. 3) The fan in our bathroom would not turn off, which added to the noise of the elevators & made for a pretty restless night. 4) The bed was too hard for my husband's back & he woke up in a lot of pain. The staff was very friendly and the location is unbeatable for shopping & sight seeing. The breakfast buffet was very nice. Overall a great place to stay. I just think we got a bum room.
