Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 17. Feb. 2013Wir waren zu zweit für 4 Tage im Februar hier. Das Hotel ist seeehr zentral gelegen und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir hatten zuerst ein Zimmer zugewiesen bekommen, das nur 2 Fenster zum Lüftungsschacht hatte, bekamen aber am nächsten Tag auf unsere Bitte hin ohne Probleme eine anderes Zimmer, das sehr schön war. Personal durchaus freundlich - bis auf die für den Frühstücksaal zuständige Mitarbeiterin, die braucht noch ein paar Unterrichtsstunden zu diesem Thema.

"Hotel ideal um morgens wegzufliegen."
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 8. Feb. 2013Hotel liegt in einem Gewerbegebiet und direkt an der Autobahn. Morgens benötigt man mit dem Mietwagen ca. 10 Minuten zum Flughafen. Ideal also falls der Flieger morgens losgeht. Wie es in unserem Fall war. Um Madrid zu erkunden gibt es geeignetere Hotels.

"Zu vieles klappt nicht"
Hotelinfrastruktur ohne Mängel. Lage des Hauses wäre eigentlich top. Nur- trotz zweimaligem Anruf klappte der Shuttleservice vom Flughafen nicht. Wir mussten ein Taxi nehmen. Beim check in sehr lange Wartezeit. Der Hotelangestellte zeigte uns freundlicherweise noch das Sanduhricon seines Computers. Die Dokumente werden noch von Hand erfasst statt gescannt […] oder kopiert. Das erhaltene Zimmer entsprach trotz zweimaligem Nachfragen nicht dem reservierten Nichtraucherbereich. Nach Beschwerde haben wir das gebuchte doch noch erhalten. All das ist um ein Uhr morgens, 6 h vor dem nächsten Abflug einfach zu viel. MehrAuthentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

27/28 August 2011, Ehepaar Als wir ankamen, hat die Rezeption uns gefragt ob wir zu Abendessen möchten, haben wir gesagt nein. So haben wir gefragt ob es in der Nähe Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt, da wurde uns gesagt ja, aber diese sind über das Wochenende gschlossen. Als wir dann selber draussen waren, waren einige Geschäfte offen. Das Hotel ist alt und […] braucht eine Renovierung, Das Zimmer ist auch sehr altmodisch eingerichtet , aber das Bad war ok. Der Pool sieht auch nicht einladend aus, dafür war die Liegewiese gut und sehr gross. Es ist in der Nähe vom Flughafen Bajas und der Shuttlebus ist gratis. The front desk sent me up to my room with only one key. Apparently you need 2 keys to use the safe. So I fumbled around trying to use the safe to not avail. It was not obvious on any written info that 2 keys were necessary. Good breakfast but 20.00E is too much. Very friendly and helpful bellman who took me outside to explain directions to a Plaza where […] many restaurants were located. i would stay here again. Liked the location. Ok for a 1 night stay. Outdoor pool fairly dire looking. Good breakfast. Rooms large, clean and quiet. Receptionist could do with some customer service training, or at least speak to when you check in/out. "Bad Staff"
I spent five weeks in Europe and this hotel was by far the nicest in which I stayed. It reminded me of a Marriott or Holiday Inn Express in the United States.I stayed there for one night as I was flying out of Madrid early the following morning. It was not, as the Hotel.com description described "connected" to the airport. It was a 10 euro ride from […] the airport (which I had reached by subway from downtown Madrid) to the airport. The next morning I used the hotel's shuttle service to get to the airport and that worked perfectly. Shuttles apparently run every 15 minutes. My problem with this hotel was the staff. They were not warm and welcoming, no smiles or greetings upon checking in, and in fact many of the employees I encountered seemed angry. After checking in I had problems connecting to their wifi and returned to the front desk to ask for assistance. The woman there was abrupt, dismissive and disinterested. She offered no help whatsoever. I checked the restaurant to see when they opened and what was on the menu and the manager/maitre de was abrupt and openly hostile. I later ordered a coffee from the lobby bar and was served by a man who seemed very angry and upset. Being close to the airport - or in other words - in the middle of nowhere, it's kind of hard to understand why parking carries a heavy fee, even if arriving late and merely spending a few hours until the morning flight is due. To exacerbate this fact, it didn't seem possible to get close to the hotel entrance without passing the parking gate a bit outside […] and thus picking up some kind of parking ticket just when about to approach the hotel grounds. Otherwise a fine stay. Somewhat bored staff but it should be mentioned that this is not unnormal on hotel airports where people traditionally spend a single night. Used this hotel only for the night upon return to Madrid in anticipation of a departing flight the next morning. The Melia Barajas is an excellent hotel due to it's location near the airport . and they also provide a free shuttle service between the hotel and airport. the hotel is OK for the airport- only 7 min by transfer, and the shuttle runs often. The building in itself is quite big, probably from the 70's, and the common areas are huge. Lovely garden. Rooms a spacious and comfortable, but seriously dated. The furniture is all of that 70's dark wooden pieces that have seen better days - varnish peeling, deco […] fading. The reception staff was hit and miss- the cleaning staff lovely and accommodating. "Great hotel for business near the airport"
Very comfortable hotel, a short bus ride (free shuttle) from the main Barajas airport. The main metro is is seven minutes walk from the front door and takes 20 minutes to get to the city centre, so - though not as handy as a city-centre hotel for tourism - it offers very good value for money. Staff were friendly, the rooms very comfy, and I had a great […] club sandwich in the pleasant bar area the first night. I'd use it again, definitely. My only complaint concerns the shuttle bus - others arrived pretty frequently, but I had to wait 30 mins for mine. "Good hotel when in transit"
Overnight before returning to USA. Shuttle from airport to hotel made a number of stops to drop off what appeared to be airport workers making us think the van was more of an employee van than a hotel shuttle. Check in/out process efficient and our initial room had a problem with the a/c and they immediately sent a tech and relocated us to another room.
