Das Hotel ist günstig und die Zimmer waren sauber. Die Lage ist unmittelbar an der Hauptstraße und dementsprechen laut ist der Verkehrslärm während der bis in die späten Abendstunden riecht und in den frühen Morgenstunden wieder beginnt.

I would never stay at this hotel again. We made reservations online and the hotel wasnt what was pictured online but the address matched. We had very poor customer service from the front desk clerk from the time of check in. The room was discusting and the AC unit did not work. We tried to give the AC time to kick on and work but never did and we had […] to switch rooms in the middle of the night. It was very inconvient and when I asked if there was anything they could do for us the front desk clerk said rudely all i can do is switch you rooms. They didnt want to make anything better for us or make anything right. The hottub did not work at all. Overall the hotel is gross and I would never ever stay there again. Mehr

Room was clean, beds were very comfortable, and hotel front desk were extremely friendly. Good room service, decent breakfast, The lighting at night is excellent all around the complex would stay here anytime again.

Stayed here for three nights, was Spring Break so very lucky to get last room! It is very easy to miss the entrance to the motel, & it's a very tight turn into the one way system but after missing it the first time, we didn't do so again! The room was a good size with two double beds; clean enough, bit jaded - the only thing against it was the smell! […] Can't describe it - it wasn't smoke, it wasn't damp, just a really bad smell. You did get used to it once you were in, but it wasn't pleasant. That said, we didn't bother saying anything as we were out most of the day, and only there for three nights, and as it was spring break, we knew rooms were hard to come by..... There was a decent sized pool with plenty of seating around about it; didn't use the pool but enjoyed the last rays of the sun for the day. There is a busy road in front but it was easy to ignore the traffic noise when I was reading at the pool. Didn't hear anything at all overnight. Both the receptionists I spoke to over our time there were really friendly & helpful, giving a map & info about the local area. Breakfast was basic, but had cereal, oats, fresh fruit and yoghurt; choice of bread, choice of bagels; plus cold & hot drinks so we had nothing to complain about. We walked to a different eating place each night; a Greek restaurant, and a Japanese restaurant - both about 3/4 mile's walk; and a fast food place about 1/2 mile away. Not many folk walk it would appear, but it was safe and well lit, and the pedestrian crossing served its purpose at the busy junction. Plus it was good to have a walk back to help work off the huge portions everywhere!! This motel was ideally placed for 'doing' Clearwater beach and the coast road south from there, along with various nature parks - the distances are not great so a relatively easy drive each day (sat-nav proved invaluable!) There were other hotels/motels available but, for the price, the Howard Johnson at Clearwater can not be beaten. Mehr

The hotel staff was very unfriendly and made you feel like you were bothering them anytime you went to the front desk. Those people that work at the front desk do not need to be in customer service and if they choose to stay there I think they need to go to a customer service training. Also, the bathroom in our room was not very clean at all.

We had a great stay at this Howard Johnson's. Very much appreciated the comfortable beds, the clean well-kept room, the complimentary breakfast, and finding out that the hotel is pet-friendly for our next stay with our pup!

This was a great hotel for the money.....the staff were really friendly and accommodating.....the breakfast was just what we needed to get a quick start to our day. The room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

with the exception of one day our room was not cleaned it was overall comfortable

This was a older hotel. People were very nice, The price was right.

Overall stay was ok. Nice room. Nice employees. We received a free upgrade due to a booking error.

The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.The continental breakfast was good.Choice of 2 cereals,toast,bagels,doughnuts,english muffins, oatmeal,coffee, apple juice, orange juice.The sheets and towels however, were old. There were some holes in the sheets and you could see through some of the towels and face clothes.But they were clean. The room […] was large including fridge,microwave,coffee pot and table with 2 chairs.the room was old and needs a bit of renovations but it was clean and thats what really maters. the location is close to mall and beaches but it is extremely difficult to get out of and get into parking lot because hotel is right on US 19 with Rushing traffic (Rushing with a capitol 'R') Overall, we did find it was a good place for the price we paid. I am always a little leery about "motel" properties...but the reviews were good, and all the other properties in the area were double the price for the weekend I was in town. Very glad I decided to take the chance, because this property was very well kept, and convenient. I am fairly critical about accommodations, and really cannot find much to say […] in critique, given the price, and other considerations (it isn't the Ritz, but you can't measure it against the Ritz). I requested a main floor room, since I had a lot of gear to load in and out each night, and my request was honored, as promised by the front desk after I made my reservation here. The staff was very friendly, both pre-arrival and when I checked in. They had a morning breakfast, which I did not make much use of, but did grab a coffee and a couple bananas for my day. The location, along US19 made the hotel accessible to local amenities. We come back to the area each year for an annual BMX Race, and this will be on my "recommended list" from this point on. Mehr

Visiting friends and they all turned their noses when i mentioned HoJo's. but I'd come back, price is right and close to good pubs and eateries.

We enjoyed 3 nights at HJ, well pleased, good rate, front desk staff very efficent and pleasant. Older facility, but clean and comfortable, would readily recommend !

The hotel room itself was fine. It was clean and the kitchen area was nice to have. The bathroom was OLD and rusty. Not the best bathroom I have had. Wouldn't suggest this hotel for a female traveling by herself.

It is a very convenient and reasonable hotel to stay. Breakfast though good is expensive. Rates are reasonable and enjoyed the stay.

The bed was very comfortable, the staff was very friendly and the rate was reasonable. the only thing that i can "semi" complain about is that the carpet needs to be replaced and the TV needs to be upgraded.

We stayed at this hotel because of the reviews. It is an older hotel, but the service was excellent. We were there for 3 days. We were in a room with a king bed, very roomy and was very happy they had a refrigerator and a micowave at no extra charge. After we checked in in the afternoon, in the evening we found the sink did not drain and after futher […] inspection it was leaking on the floor. We called the office it was after 5 and the maintenace was already gone, Shane immediatly moved us to another room, but it was a smoker room, I asked her for another room and without question she moved us to another room on the 3rd floor. It ended up to be one of the best stays we had. We also had trouble loging in on the interenet and she went out of her way to help us and call the company. They were very accomadating, the continental breakfast was great too. We would definatly stay here again as the service was great! Thank you Mehr

Found room was comfortable and clean. The management was very courteous and pleasant to deal with. The complementary breakfast was very good and the items were fresh with good quanity and quality.

My daughter and I came down to visit her friend, I had read the reviews and some were negative, I decided to give it a try. We were very pleased over all, The room was very clean, bed comfortable, everything we needed. Well located, but a tad hard to find I drove right past it the first time. Rooms are very outdated and could use some updates. Tryning to connect to wireless internet was very difficult at times.

For this caliber of hotel, it was the absolute worst at which I've ever stayed. We called ahead, ensuring our reservation when we were about one hour from that destination. The individual on the phone was a bit rude, but even moreso exemplified upon our arrival. Every comment I made, the person at the desk contradicted. I asked upon arrival, after the […] room was assigned if it might be possible to get a first floor room, and within a nonosecond, she responded, "I have none available." She didn't even look to verify, just immediately responded, "None available." I said, "Are you sure, my wife is handicapped"--once again, without even TRYING to accommodate, she stated in the negative. The room was filthy, the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom. My party was thoroughly disappointed. The area at the front desk smelled like a smoke house because the desk person would just step outside and her cigarette smoke would waft into the front lobby. I would NEVER stay here again, and if this is at all indicative of the Howard Johnson chain, I would not make use of the entire corporation's locations. Mehr

The hotel was all we needed, for the price, it was great. We just needed a place to sleep while we were visiting Clearwater beach. It was on the highway, but we had a rental car and had no problem. The hotel is old, but had a pool and hot tub, although the beach it why we were there. I will recommend it to anyone who wants a good deal and just a clean […] place to sleep Mehr

The hotel is old and outdated, and it shows on the exterior. While our room was clean, there were numerious burn marks on the desk and bed side tabels, and some of the adjunct furniture was starting to fall apart. The entrance is very difficult and confusing to get to from a very busy highway, and frequently required making a U-turn in the middle of […] US-19. Also, the air condition had a bad rattle as if the fan blade was loose or something, and made it somewhat difficult to sleep. While the price was right, I found the accomidations lacking. The staff was very friendly and helpfull however, and the maid did a wonderfull job cleaning. As I said, the hotel was clean, the comfort was adequate, but overall it could use some good old TLC and some updating. I will probably try to stay somewhere else on my next trip down. Mehr

I was looking for a cheap hotel to stay at for a friends wedding, and I was impressed with the price. Room was comfy and clean, housekeeping came every morning. One staff member was a little rude, otherwise the other hotel staff members were very friendly.

Simple hotel, nice beedroom, cleam, confortable bed. Problem: in your neighborhood one Kia dealer, with car maintenance; continental breakfast just help if you dont have much time, but you just eat bread, cereal and coffe. Its not ner the beachs, but is near restaurants and good stores.

Really nice hotel. Rooms were large and clean. Had conveniences like refrigerator, microwave, internet, etc. Only negatives... one being that you can not see the hotel very easily when driving down the road and if you miss it, you go over a bridge and have to drive down a good ways to turn around and come back. Then due to concrete median, you have […] to go down a ways the other direction and do a U turn to get back to the hotel. You also have a pretty good drive to get to the beaches. The place was clean and cheap but not in the best neighboorhood. It was a hot weekend and the a/c couldn't keep up. My phone in the room didn't work but I had a cell phone. Their continental breakfast is a joke. Hotels should either do it right or just serve coffee.

Stayed for 3 nights. No complaints really just breakfast a bit limited in selection but staff were very helpful, located quite well, room clean and a pleasent stay overall. First motel we ever stayed in and we'd definately come back again. Staff very pleasent and very helpful. Thumbs up from us.

The hotel was in the right location where I was visiting. It's not a fancy place but it is well kept and got us by. the only bad thing was the carpets in the room. They need to be steam cleaned. My son had black feet walking barefoot. Overall the price fits what you get. It was cheap and cozy.

Good deal and exellent location for the price

Friendly front desk staff. Didn't like that hotel was close to busy road. Breakfast was minimal. Location is good for short stays definitely not long stays.

I was spending most of my time in Dundein visiting my son. The hotel offered my exactly what I needed: hot water and a comfortable bed. It was not great, but there was nothing negative I could complain about.

The Hotel was clean in almost all areas except for the bed, I found long black hair in between the sheets and the sheets did not fit the bed. I constantly woke up thru the night with them ruffled under me, first time this has ever happened to me. The bed was very uncomfortable! I did not sleep well at all. The first night upon arrival the lady at the […] front desk was rude, (I almost did not stay because of her) but then I felt I dont have to deal with her after tonight anyways and I was tired after driving 22 hours to get there, I understand we all have bad days but when someone has been on the road for a long time I sure did not need her unfriendly attitude, I was not grumpy towards her. On my departure Monday, a different lady was at the front desk and she was very polite and curtious. Unfortunately I cannot give this hotel complete satisfaction. I have stayed at many different hotels and this one for bed comfort, rates very bad! Please, please update the beds and sheets! they are definetely needed! Mehr

The room was clean and nice looking. However the comfort of the bed (mattress) was less than par in my opinion. As for the bathroom tub, it could have been a bit more clean and work better (plumbing, drain). Now, the neighbor hood was ok and close to beach and restaurants. Comfortable stay - was hard to find
