La Posada de Sante Fe Resort & Spa - Santa Fé

This was a decent place to stay, but be forewarned that you'll pay for the privilege! Buried very, very, very deeply in the confirmation is a "resort" fee of $30/day (plus taxes) on top of the Hotels.com price. And what does this "resort" fee get you? Free internet (free?), valet parking, and the opportunity to pay $200 for a spa treatment. I guess […] we weren't their expected clientele, as we spent our time exploring Santa Fe, and hiking in the surrounding mountains - not sitting around a spa. Mehr

The spa hotel is very nice with small 'casita' type units. The spa area I cannot judge because I never visited it. Nevertheless the charged me $ 30 extra for each day as a 'spa fee'. I told them in the beginning that I would not use their spa facilities and would not want to pay. In the end they charged me about $ 100.- extra for the three nights I […] stayed there. This greatly annoyed me as I only slept in my room and did nothing else in te hotel. I argued with them about it, but they wouldn't be flexible on that. I travel frequently to Sant Fe but will not stay in this hotel any more for that sole reason. Too bad, because otherwise I liked it. Marilies Mehr

They added a resort fee of $40 to each room. When asked they said it was for wi-Fi and car. I pointed out that I had used neither, but they charge everyone. Poor answers, poor service, worst in resturant. Would not stay here again.

Hotel was ok, service fairly poor, rooms somewhat undersized and bar / restaurant prices very much inflated. Considering the prestige of the hotel - gym / exercise facilities were extremely limited and dated surprisingly. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for value for money. I was less than impressed with the additional "hotel service […] fee" for parking !! Mehr

Watch out for surprise resort fees for things I did not use.

The blemish was that the basthroom sink was dirty and full of hair. Otherwise very nice hotel.

We had a great time in Santa Fe... and the friendliness of the staff of La Posada was greatly appreciated. Any staff member at any given time was more than happy to entertain our inquiries. Excellent restaurant staff!

Stayed here for Christmas 2011. First class, friendly service. We have a small dog and they were extremely pet friendly. Minor complaint - not a bright reading light in room, all compact flourescents. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel staff was pleasant and easy to deal with, the best part of the experience was easily them. For what we paid, I thought room was adequate, definitely would not pay the "in-season" rate. Outside temperatures were quite cool (50's daytime, low 30's night) and, upon arrival, found the heat had not been turned on and the room temp was 50 degrees. Took […] 3 hours to get the temp up to 70. Location was within walking distance of all the great shopping, galleries, and museums of Santa Fe. Sort of felt this may have been the special "Hotels.com" room. Mehr

This is a beautiful property with a friendly staff. Rock Resorts owns the property, and needs to spend some money updating some of the room items. For example, an I-pod docking alarm clock would be nice. The staff was helpful, but perhaps a bit overworked during the holiday weekend, you must call for ice etc, and often the wait was over 30 minutes. […] The location is great to walk Santa Fe, and Canyon Road galleries. Shuttle service was useful and friendly. We would stay again, but hope RR puts some update money into a beautiful place. Mehr

The shades in the living room were mildew ridden, one night turn down service, next night none, 2 days newspaper, last day none, til we called. water flowed out of shower. large gap between patio door and outside. Could have easily been robbed as we were on the street and the fence could have easily been jumped and no one would have known it. plaster […] from walls falling off near patio door. mini bar not secure, not a problem for us but if children were there it could be. this hotel is has beautiful grounds, excellent for walking to the plaza. they upgraded our room to a large king with fireplace and private patio which was nice. we had no problems with the room.our patio was dirty and never cleaned, chair cushions grimey. the pool was noisy with children with no adult pool available. the pool didnt have enough room […] for the number of guests, chairs etc. and was left dirty after the heat of the day so we werent interested in using it in the evening when the children all went away. the resturant was very average. a mamosa was$12 which i thought a little high for champagne and orange juice. if you are going for close proximaty to the plaza it was great and easy to get to. in the summer months if you are looking for a relaxing adult experience this is not it. The grounds are gorgeous, the room was beautiful and very comfortable. We had a delicious breakfast with gracious service. The only minor drawback was that the pool area was VERY crowded and noisy (I had to leave and go back to my room because there literally was not a single chair to sit in or lie on) and the pool water was very dirty both days when […] we used it. First, every member of the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. Not sure how I rated a upgrade, but I got a room in the original casitas with a fireplace which was WONDERFUL due to unexpected cold weather. The bed was very comfortable and the decor made me feel I was really in the Santa Fe I remember from when I was a kid. The grounds and main […] building are so beautiful. The rooms are much too small. There is no seating other than a small desk chair and the bed. The rooms are not sound proof. Housekeeping forget to clean our coffee service. Our traveling mates had no hot water one morning but they did move us that day. The hotel adds a resort fee of $30.00/day. The dining room is very nice but pricey. All in all, there […] are much nicer hotels in the area. We were very disappointed when comparing to other Rock Resorts. Mehr

$30 resort fee not included in hotels.com rate. Also, there is no Ihome clock radio in the room. lastly, not all rooms have fireplaces. still, a very nice place, great service, great location, but expensive.

It was just a one night stay but an excellent choice. Hotel staff were extremely customer service oriented. Beautiful hotel. Room big and comfortable. Beds cozy. Much to offer guests if you are staying a while. Very southwest! Can't wait to go back.

Our room, a double with 2 queen beds, had a fireplace that was well stocked with firewood, and a lounge area that had a second television. We also were given purified drinking water in glass bottles, great advice from the concierge, a wonderful experience at the hotel's spa (a wide array of expensive-but-worth-it services), and the offer of a ride anywhere […] in the vicinity. The hotel is close to the Plaza and all the shops, and an easy walk from at least four major art-gallery districts. Santa Fe is a feast of fine art. The hotel, spa, and restaurant are a bit on the expensive side, but that is what you expect from this level of service and luxury. It's worth the splurge. We had a great time and would definitely return. Mehr

Nice enough place but way, way, over priced. The room was pretty old and needs to be renovated. I have stayed in much nicer resorts for half the price. The food service was very slow.

The parking situation was confusing and inconvenient for us. Every time you wanted your car, you had to tip the valet both coming and going. We also felt the prices were too high.

Walking distance to great restaurants and the main downtown area. Hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to any area within a two mile drive. Free valet service in or out of the hotel parking. Terrific bar and outside dining. Great food. Staff very accommodating.

Breakfast dinner and bar service were non existant. English muffins came after breakfast was finished, asking for peanut butter caused a major pannic. No one acknowledged us when we sat down, asked for bar snacks during happy hour, got "I will check on it" and the waiter never returned, dirty glasses/dishes left on tables consistantly. Bathrooms are […] very small, cramped. Adding the fireplace in the unitsounds romantic but, it takes up too much floor space in a small room, especially for a destination that might be a summer destination. I would have prefered the floor area, space for a luggage rack( I like living out of my suitcase, that is how I pack). Bed and desk were jambed in, night stand on only one side of the bed. Patio was a very small, shared space with another unit, with tables that were too big, ate up too much room at the front door, not private. Light switch for front door light did not work, had to unscrew light bulbs so we could keep the search light out of our eyes (the bed is right next to the front door and window). Forgott a make nup mirror in the bathroon, took 2 days to find it, no call back and when I offered to pay for postage they took my credit card. We have left the mirror behind several other times (not on purpose, just sometimers disease)and have never been charged postage before. Spa prices were consistant with New York City, not New Mexico............Valets were fabulous! Mehr
