I rarely write reviews. Especially reviews I have to create an account to write, but in this case it is the least I can do. This hotel has the typical qualities of a four star hotel -- nice modern, clean rooms, rooftop hot tub & garden with heat lamps, a great location near the nightlife and waterfront. But what sets this hotel apart and the reason […] I would always book this hotel every time I return to Vancouver is because of the service! Everyone was polite and helpful. A special thank you to Albert who takes pride in providing amazing service. He was helpful, knowlegable, and genuinely cares about your experience in Vancouver. He'll tell you why Vancouver is such a great city, how to save money, and what not to miss. Thank you Albert. Also a thank you to Damien for ensuring that our vacation was truly a vacation. Parking fee is $27 and parking lot is so poor. The chair of room was torn, floor is dirty. Bellboy is so rude and unkindness. we absolutely do not want to go there.

We went to this hotle for our anniversary and we were pleasnatkly surprised at the honey moon suite .. very very nice

NIce hotel, rooms are small and the AC is very very noisy. One can hear the shower in the room.

dirty shower, uncomfortable beds, uncomfortable pillows, noisy location... wouldn't recommend it to anyone! Way overpriced!!

Hotel was nice, easy to find, had to loop around to get back onto the freeway. Only downside I didnt like was paying 27.50 a day for Valet parking where I had to park my own vehicle, come and go as you please but pricey.

We loved our stay in this hotel, hot tub was nice, room was very clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful. The location is great... Walking distance to shopping and clubs and right next to Granville Island. Will be back!!

Great stay! The food in the restaurant is divine! The chef is superb. We enjoyed a cosy room and fabulous food in the restaurant. You'll enjoy it too!

Clean room,good location,friendly staffs,but internet was so slow and very difficult to get connected!

Great room layout, HUGE jetted bathtub, comfortable bed, friendly staff, I will be back for sure. It was great overall.

I was met with apologies that the only room available for me was very small and cramped and had no amenities for my disability. After one night, I was moved to a slightly larger room. The TV remote was hard to understand. The radio was very complicated. The bed was topped with a bedspread that must weigh 50 pounds -- quite impossible to have atop one. […] Though I am elderly and not strong, I had to shove it onto the floor in order to get into bed. The hotel staff were quite friendly and tried to be helpful, but it's just not a good choice. The hotels.com agent who took my reservation told me the room would have a kitchenette, but only a coffeepot was available. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay. The valet services saved us much apprehension. The room was roomy and had all that we required. Thanks, you will see us again.

We stayed for one night not my fav location in Vancouver. Room was clean and tidy but so small.

Just a couple of small issues. Wireless is only at the desk in the room...so you can't use your laptop on the bed or window. Also...I ordered a pizza from room service and it was really disappointing...cheese was tasteless and hard and thick. The extra toppings were quite skimpy. Also the coffee maker cord was too short with no easy access to outlet..I […] had to pull the coffee maker and use it on the floor. Mehr

the staff was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. But the internet service was terrible......gets very slow at the times of day when there are other people in the hotel online. The eliptical trainer did not work, the same as when I stayed there six months ago.

The hotel location is great. Had to pay for parking (parking tax in Vancouver is like 12%). Free a bottle of wine is just a wine tasting. I bed seems to be smaller than other hotel.

Hard mattress, could hear all traffic noise outside the room, not a great view, staff was great, not worth the price.

Stayed at Hotel in Sept '11 and we booked a two bedroom suite for our family. The room was adequate but they was only a portable aircond machine in the lounge room. It was so hot inside and never cooled down. Temperature outside was not warm yet inside we were all sweating. Do not book this hotel unless the air conditioning is resolved.

The pros: friendly, helpful staff. Free upgrade to king, Secure parking, clean, quiet room, can walk to most attractions. Con: advertised as a one bedroom but was really a studio with one bed. Would stay there again.

Our family of four (two kids in their 20s) squished into this room and had a great time, but it would have been much nicer with just two of us, since the beds are doubles; no queens. Other than that, it was wonderful. Best housekeeping staff I've ever run across, excellent concierge and front desk people. I liked that it was smallish. Definitely go […] up to the roof deck with a beer -- great city views. My daughter used the rooftop gym, though only because dad and bro were on the deck outside; otherwise it felt too isolated for her. Mehr

Nice hotel for the price. Within short cab ride of all attractions. Value for your money.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful but the room needed to be redone as the carpet was torn in multiple areas and the desk chair seat was ripped as was the the shower curtain. The hotel was convenient to the trolley stops and was within walking distance to restaurants and the waterfront. I would recommend it with reservations.

This hotel is in a great location in terms of being close to lots of things in Vancouver. However it's old and it's located right next to a freeway on-ramp. NOISY! The room was definitely dated. The "queen" bed was a double at best. The "jetted tub" was just a regular sized bathtub with some jets on the bottom of it. We should have just paid the $20 […] or so more and just stayed at a higher end hotel. Lesson learned. Also, parking is $27/night. At least you can come and go as you please. I don't think I would stay here again. For a few bucks more you can stay in a much nicer place. Mehr

Excellent hotel, not in the middle of vancouver down town but still within walking distance, excellent service

We loved pretty much everything about this hotel. A few let downs - faulty TV, wireless slow, wine tasting is only one glass - but we made up for it with the location and Albert! The man knows his way around the city and is beyond helpful. Thanks to him, I recommend this hotel to anyone going to the Vancouver area for the first time.

We were with friends and were offered an upgrade to a higher floor, 2BR, 2 bath condo with spectacular views instead of our separate rooms. The unit was nice, albeit a bit overcrowded with furniture, but lack of luggage racks and hangers were a slight inconvenience. I think the unit is usually rented for longer stays and has a small equipped kitchen. […] The master BR was king bed and better equipped, but the extra room was pretty tight. All in all, a comfortable stay made great by location and view. Staff was fantastic by the way! Really went out of their way to help with dinner bookings at some nearby eateries, comped us on parking, etc. Mehr

We were a little surprised to see our hotel entrance at the foot of an entrance ramp to a highway. But the lobby and rooms were large and nicely decorated in a sleek style. As we got to know our way around, the hotel was just blocks from the West End, Yaletown, the river walk, and the ferry to Granville Island. This motel is a 15 minute walk from the downtown area. The room was of good quality but a little cramped. Staff were friendly and very helpfull

The location and size of the unit could not be beat for Downtown Vancouver, The staff was super accomodating and friendly.

The service was very good. However, the room given to us faces a balcony that is covered with countless cigarette butts and bird poops. The room is also facing a busy high way. Moreover, I requested two queen beds but they only have two double beds which is too cramped for three people. I asked the front desk to switch us to a room with two queens, […] but he said that they only have double beds. As a result, one of us actually had to sleep on the floor. Overall, I think this hotel is overrated. Mehr

Service was really nice, but the rooms (especially the beds - they are smaller than full size!) were pretty tiny. Also, the neighborhood was ok - had to walk a bit to get to areas with restaurants, etc.

My companion and I had lunch there. Our hamburger was awful.The worst we have ever had in a nice hotel restaurant. It had a gravy-like sauce which one does not expect on a hamburger. I was hungry but left it after a few bites.It was fairly expensiv eas well. Needless to say we went elsewhere for dinner.

I’m an optimist, so I’ll start with the perks: the staff was friendly and accommodating; the hotel was within walking distance to some downtown locations, the ferry, the biking/walking path by the water; and secure parking was available for $20/night. That’s about where the benefits end. The “wine reception” was one hour, every day but Sunday and they […] make it seem like “help yourself to wine for an hour.” Not the case. The glasses were about 1-2 ounces of wine, no seconds. The worst for last: major updating needed, not just in décor (stained wallpaper and bedding), but the bathroom light switch was broken. I’ve read reviews of “needs updated” and I thought those folks must be snobs, but it’s true this hotel needs updating. Among out first impression, my husband wanted to leave and priced other hotels in the area, but we learned we’d have to pay for a nights stay in this hotel anyway; I convinced him it wasn’t that bad, but conditions got worse. After our first night, we tried to leave for the day and our room wouldn’t lock. The friendly front desk attendant was happy to send maintenance, but we requested another room since we were not impressed with this one. We were moved to the 8th floor, “the executive floor,” it was the same as it too lacked quality, but this room did have a working lock and light switches. Neither room had fitted sheets, but had flat sheets instead… both mornings we woke up with the mattress exposed, we both questioned the cleanliness of that. Surely there is another hotel available in the area with a similar pricing point; I’d go with another hotel. Mehr

Overall we didn't mind the hotel, staff was friendly it was close to main streets and restaurants, however the room we had was very tiny for the price we paid. We felt claustrophobic.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel. While it is a little out of the way, it was easy to reach all the points of interest in the downtownh area by walking. When we first arrived, we were surprised by the small size of the lobby and its apprearance. But the room turned out to be spacious and clean. The only drawback was the portable air conditioning […] unit which was very loud and drafty, as you could not sufficiently reduce the fan speed.
