PULLMAN PLAZA HOTEL - Huntington

The description is a "little" miss leading as it relates to the River View Rooms as you cannot see the Ohio River from the 4th floor, but overall the rooms are fantabulous!!!!! I can't wait to go back!!!!

Great old hotel. They're trying to renovate it a bit and that's good because it needs it. The Pullman has always been the fancy hotel in Huntington and with just a little bit of renovation it could be that again. I had an upper floor room with a view of the river. The bed was great but the decor was dated and so was the big window (it was hard to see […] the river because the glass was about 50 years old/dirty). We were just an hour outside of our hometown, so we knew the area pretty well. The only issue we had was finding a tube of chapstick (not ours) in the floor, and there were 2 burn holes in the outer comforter. We had requested a smoking room, but still didn't like the holes. This is supposed to be a nicer hotel, and I didn't expect that. The breakfast […] buffet the next morning was great, and was included with the room, and the staff was very nice and helpful. enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Very friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and quit room. I recommend this hotel for a romantic or bussiness trip.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Pullman Plaza in downtown Huntington. It had the amenities of a much more expensive hotel. We received complimentary passes for drinks at the bar inside the hotel and buffet breakfast both mornings of our stay, Valet parking was free and there was poolside service available. The hotel doesn't seem to have been updated […] recently as far as decor but the overall surroundings were comfortable and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The downtown location couldn't be beat, the hotel was within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and entertainment including several theaters. It's also close to the waterfront park and the marina. We plan to return to the area soon and will definitely stay at the Pullman Plaza again. Mehr

We use Pullman Plaza a lot for all the candidates we bring in for faculty positons. It is close to food, entertainment, shops and movies. It is also in walking distance of things that way they see a small overview of the area.

Saw no indication of valet or bellman service. Had to retrieve a cart and haul all baggage. Electricity went out for hours in whole hotel. Backup generator allowed elevators to work, but GLOW STICKS were the only source of light in them and in the public restrooms. I was given a glowstick in order to find the toilet paper! No wifi or internet. Only […] basic TV channels. However, food was delicious in Coach Bobby Pruett's resturant. Also a free breakfast buffet was provided each morning and was hot and tasty. Mehr

I feel like for the price the pullman charges a night they need to do some serious updating! We had a no smoking room but it spelled like smoke. The wireless would not work in our room and the breakfast was medicore at best. That being said the customer service and wait staff in the hotel were super helpful and friendly and this hotel has the best location […] in Huntington! Mehr

bath room was very tiny - exhaust fan did not work to remove moisture when showering, hair dryer did not work everything seemed very dated and was not what I expect for the rate and other reviews for this hotel hotel is convenient to access local events hotel staff is excellent

I've been traveling to the Pullman for 5 years or so now. There have been no investments to the property. The AC units are old an noisey, the athletic facilities are non-existant now (they use to have a deal with the Y but no more). Additionally, the WiFi system had been down for some time so internet access was by hard-line only. This will be the last […] time I stay there. very good location hotel nice and clean. they also give you a card for free drink and a card for free breakfast. The breakfast bar was excellent... I will definatly stay again.

Very friendly staff, free drink and breakfast coupons at check in, very pleased with the hotel, would recommend if staying in Huntington

This was our first experience at The Pullman Plaza Hotel. Accomodations appeared to be 10-15 years old but are extremely well maintained, neat and clean. The staff is helpful, friendly and accomodating. Just a GREAT attitude. The bar and breakfast restaurant are nice. The "upscale" steakhouse on property is nice but a little pricey for the quality served. […] At this pricepoint one would expect more "in house" production of appetizers, sauces and dressings, etc. These seemed to be be prepackaged and bottled. The downtown area is just steps from the front door and activities abound. I was able to start my morning with a run through the city park (about 6 blocks away) and then grab a good breakfast in the hotel before heading out for a full day of shopping, visiting and relaxing. Overall, a nice hotel. Staff was friendly, rooms were a bit dated but clean. Lobby & area around hotel nice too. For an area that's not exactly thriving it was worth the price. Downtown Huntington has a lot of potential.

This hotel was just run down and overall not clean. The ceiling in the conference room was falling apart. I think the person that cleaned my room did the best she could but overall the room was just dirty and things were old and not kept up. If I ever stay in the Huntington area again I will definitely find a cleaner place to stay.

It is a hotel where no one smiles, bad breakfast, bad service, what can i say more except we wanted empty plates even the room service could not provide us that. We ultimately moved to holiday INN hotel & suites just across the road from Pullman plaza hotel. We found everything to be a world apart in Holiday INN hotel & Suits WV 25701. Everything in […] Holiday INN was wonderfull, whatever u say to the hotel staff they made sure to arrange it. But pullman plaza was very very bad, i do not recomend u to stay at all no matter what anyone says. its pathetic......very bad. Even the busines center at pullman plaza was out of order, where as in Holiday INN hotel & suites computer and internet was freely available in the room. so why stay in Pullman Plaza when everything was so pathetically bad. we had to go there for some medical procedure to be performed on my father inSt. Marry's medical certer WV and someone recomended us this hotel, i must say its very bad, so once out paid dates were over and we had to extend we moved to Holiday INN Hotel & Suits WV 25701 which is worl class. so all travelers stay away from Pullman Plaza hotel its very bad. I'll admit that the appearance of the lobby and exterior of Pullman Plaza are nice and somewhat updated. The rooms, however, appear that they were decorated in the 70s and that the mattresses and bedding were probably purchased around the same time. The bed was very uncomfortable. The free cold breakfast was awful. For a fee you could upgrade to a hot breakfast.

Good location, great views of river and downtown. Convenient to Marshall, etc. The hotel just needs a bit of updating to bring it up to par with the price and the hotels that it competes with at that price.

The staff was friendly and pleasant to be around at check in/out and also in the restaurant. The entire experience was relaxing, pleasant. I felt safe.

The hotel is within walking distance of shopping and restaurant. The ac was not working properly though and we had to buy a fan. We could not go out to the pool in the evening due to the fact a high school reunion closed it off for themselves. They already had a banquet room, did the hotel have to give them the pool/pool bar also?

It was a decent hotel. Bad decorations. Really ugly comforter and wallpaper. There was a lot around we could walk to, but they cleaned windows at a nearby building at 7 am! We got free drink coupons at the bar downstairs which was nice. Breakfast was okay at best.

The room rate was a little high but once we checked in we found out why. The valet parking charge was included in the room rate, although tipping was encouraged and we did, and we were given coupons for the FULL breakfast buffet and 2 cocktails for each night we were there. Made the room rate a lot more acceptable.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and comfortable and the free breakfast was wonderful.
