Wir möchten immer ein Zimmer zum Hof haben und nicht eines im angrenzenden Hotelgebäude. Ich habe deshalb schon die teurere Zimmerkategorie gebucht mit 2 Betten. Aber wie letztes Mal 10 Dollar Upgrade gezahlt. Aber dafür super freundlicher Service. Super Preis Leistungsverhälltnis für San Francisco und tolle lage zu Fuß 5-10Minuten zur Fisherman-Warf. Auch parken für 12 Dollar in San Francisco ,es sind es in den meisten anderen Hotels 25-50 Dollar.Jederzeit wieder.

Das Hotel liegt in der Geary St. ein paar Blocks vom Union Square. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im zweiten Stockwerk im Mittelgang, was den großen Vorteil hat, dass man den Straßenlärm nicht mitbekommt, sondern nur den gelegentlichen Lärm den andere Gäste verursachen. Die Zimmer haben nur ein kleines Fenster mit einem wenig schönen Ausblick auf den Innenhof. Das Continental Breakfast besteht aus Kaffee, Toast m. Butter u. Marmelade, O- bzw. Apfelsaft u. einem Stück Obst. Problematisch ist die Parkplatzsituation, da gleich vor der Haustür eine Bushaltestelle ist und ansonsten i.d.R. nur Parkplätze für Kurzparker vorhanden sind. Das Hotel bietet für 30 $ p. Tag einen Valetparkservice an, d.h. es kommt jemand u. parkt das Auto irgendwo, was sehr gut funktioniert hat. Das Hotel liegt zwar in der Nähe des Unionsquare aber auch sehr dicht am Tenderloin Bezirk, den man vor allem Nachts meiden sollte. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel vom Preis - Leistungsverhältnis weiter empfehlen!

The Hotel is very nice, the only thing is the parking is very expensive 47.00 a night but you could park in front of the Hotel for 29.00 a night

"San Francisco Downtown"
I was very disappointed in this Hilton Hotel, it wasn't up to the standards of other Hiltons I have stayed in. The location was not what I expected, I asked for a Hilton close to Fishermans Wharf and this Hilton was located downtown so we needed to drive everywhere we wanted to go. The view was nice from our room of the city, however it wasn't worth […] the money we paid nightly and I was disappointed I was informed until we arrived that parking was over $50.00 per night. The hotel was very old and homeless people were right outside the entrance to the hotel begging every time we left the hotel. Mehr

"Watch for hidden charges - internet, parking"
Their website says 'in-room internet' but it isn't free, its actually pretty steep. The good news is the lobby has free wifi though. Also they are clear that the parking is extra and post the value, but they dont tell you about the added tax on the parking that is pretty hefty as well... beware of the extras. We recently stayed one night at the Hilton. We had very good front-desk service and our room was nice and clean even though it looked like it had not been updated in quite a few years (33rd floor). "Very convenient location"
Because of Christmas, hotel decoration is beautiful and cozy but room is very small and we hardly can turn around with two big bagges. Another thing have to mention that the rate from Hotel.com is at least 1/3 of the hotel front desk price. I found this when I have to extend my stay in this hotel and later on in the other hotels that I reserved through […] Hotel.com. Mehr

What a great place! We had two rooms. They were on separate floors. The staff moved us next to each other on the same floor. They upgraded one room at no extra charge. My only complaint is the cost for parking. They get you there. That's big city life for ya! Looking forward to coming back.

My husband & I took our 4 children ages 12-21 for Xmas break. We had a wonderful time. Hotel was conveniently located near lots of great restaurants & shopping. I highly recommend the Urban Tavern next door to hotel. My husband & I stopped for cocktail & was speaking w/ our waiter from couple nights prior. We mentioned we didn't have xmas dinner reservations […] & they were booked. Our waiter spoke to mgr & mentioned we were guests @ Hilton. They squeezed our family of 6 in. Only bummer was their pool was under refurbishing & they didn't have continental breakfast. We did have vouchers for Starbucks which is located in hotel. We were allowed to use next door hotel pool, which was indoor. Sauna & steam room were a plus. We would stay here again. Mehr
"Great hotel great location"
I stayed here while visiting a friend for her birthday, and i mist admit that because i got the hotel for such a low price relative to other hotels in the neighborhood, i was skeptical of my stay. But as soon as i stepped into the lobby i felt relieved. It was huge and very nice with chandeliers hanging everywhere. I had requested a high floor room […] with a view and that what i got, the view was amazing. The room itself was nothing fancy but it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Hotel was un a great location, we walked everywhere. The only negative thing i have to say was that the price of parking was a bit rediculous. But i suppose it is Union Sqaure. We always stay at the Hilton when we come to SF. It has a great location, no hassle to get around. Our room was ready when we arrived at 11:00. Thats great service that we didn't expect. Everything we needed was available for us. Thanks Hilton!

"SF Hilton Union Square"
Excellent location. Beds extremely comfortable, and I have back issues. Luxurious bed linens and toiletries. Fabulous city views. Couldn't have had a better experience. Parking pricey though.

Hotel room was just OK. Breakfast was superb -- had everything you could think of from scrambled eggs, fruit and cinnamon rolls to congee, trout and cheeses. It was not your average breakfast buffet. I expected a lot more of the room. We had to change rooms, matress was really soft. We could also hear our "neighbours" talking and a baby crying down […] the hall. Our new room was a bit of an upgrade, much cleaner, better matress. We had an exterior facing room, so there was a lot more car/traffic noise -- but better than babies crying. Mehr

The hotel is close to everything but if you are traveling with your family you may want to consider staying at The Westin instead. The rooms (at least the one we got) are extremely small... No space to put your luggage or move around.
"One of our best hotel stays"
My wife and I both enjoyed all aspects of our 4-night stay at the Union Square Hilton over Christmas. Every member of the staff we interacted with - desk, bellhops, door man, concierge, dining staff, room attendant - was friendly and efficient. Several of them provided helpful advice about bus routes and things to do. It was a real benefit to us that […] the desk would change large bills for bus fare because SF Muni accepts only exact change. The concierge recommended and arranged a town car to the airport for our departure and that proved to be excellent advice. The hotel has a grand lobby like you don't see so often nowadays and we enjoyed spending some time there watching people pass through. Elevators are fast, which we appreciated after some experiences with long waits at other places we've stayed. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. We were fortunate enough to have a fine view westward from the 28th floor, which made it even better. The brunch had more selections than we expected and was very satisfying, especially the orange juice! The location is a few blocks from Union Square but had the advantage that it is across the street from the car rental agencies so it was a very easy matter to pick up and drop off a car. Much more convenient and lower cost than renting at the airport. Our only complaint, which was a nuisance more than anything, is that the tub and toilet drained very slowly. They would do well to look into the condition of the plumbing. Overall, the Hilton gives every feeling of being first class hotel. We enjoyed it as much as any stay we can remember. Mehr

We took our very young granddaughters to San Francisco for a couple of days and wanted to be near Union Square. We had stayed at this hotel before and knew it was just what we wanted. Staff was very nice, room was very clean, tight, but clean. We had a wonderful city view from the twenty-third floor. Starbucks located in the lobby. Foley's Irish House […] within a block, Union Square a block and a half. Great location. Parking across the street from the hotel and near the theaters. Mehr

They had a very accomodating staff. We had two rooms that were originaly on separate floors. They upgraded one room at not extra charge so we were next to each other. The entire hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays. It is close to Union Square, great restraunts and pubs. Cable car accessis two streets away on Powell. My only issue was the cost […] for parking. They get you there. My suggestion is to check in and park in a city lot or across the street. You don't need a car in San Francisco. "I was skeptical but glad I booked it!"
The hotel is a block away from the beautiful and famous Union Square, within walking distance to the Powell Bart station and the trolley station! I was skeptical about the hotel due to other reviews but I am so glad we stayed here. My boyfriend and I loved the fact that it was within walking distance to so many locations. The gym was awesome I was able […] to run 10 miles on the treadmills. The only suggestion I have is for cheaper guest parking- it was $47.00/nite plus 14% occupancy fee. And the breakfast buffet although plentiful in options were cold. They need burners for their food containers to keep warm while people keep opening the lid letting the hot air out. Other than that I loved it and will be back soon. We stayed on Tower 1, 12th floor. So street noise was limited since we were higher up. Mehr
"Nice Hotel but beware of Taylor Street"
The hotel was nice and had many amenities. I liked the complimentary access to the gym and cleanliness. The location is also close to Union Square which is nice. Hotel security was not very friendly and tended to be slightly tense at times. The hotel is adjacent to Taylor Street which has many questionable looking people walking up and down the street […] at all hours of the night. Reports of people getting assaulted on Taylor Street also kept us from walking down this street. We went to the Golden Gate Theater and had to take a taxi back home because of the neighborhood. If you know which places to avoid, this is a good hotel. Parking is $32/night so plan in advance. Overall, this hotel is a 4 star, I just wish more could be done to shuttle people to Union Square and the theaters. Mehr

Expected more from the Hilton. Weird decor. Broken heater, which was fixed. Cleaning supplies left out. Not bad, but not great.
"Fun for the holidays"
Awesome hotel. It was under construction, but they were very accomodating and put us in Tower 1 which wasn't being renovated. The neighborhood is right on the border of the Tenderloin, but blocks from Union Square. It's a great location if that doesn't bother you. Decorated to the nines for Christmas. Great breakfast included in our stay. We got two […] rooms which were only 2 doors down from each other. Mehr

The location is really good, but be careful when you check in that they don't give you an older room in one of the older towers.

The entire floor stank, and the stank got all over my clothes. The next morning everyone said I smelled like a cheap motel. The location is great, staff is awesome but the quality of the place is no better than a motel 6.

The hotel is really old and the room we got was really in a really noisy corridor. There were weird people on that floor and we would be up all night because of the noise. In addition, the internet connection wouldnt work even after we paid for it. Really poor connectivity in the room for cell phones as well. Overall a disappointment for the price […] we paid. The location is good since it close to the shopping area but a few blocks north are really shady full of homeless people. Mehr
