As always, Swisshotel is extremely clean, rooms are spacious and amenities are first-rate. A nice touch this visit was the guest services attendant who, upon checking my driver's license, noticed that my birthday was the next day. She upgraded our room free of charge and sent up a lovely plate of fruit and cheese with a celebratory message on my birthday! […] It made a delightful weekend even more special. Mehr

Lobby was being renovated, really disappointing, but perhaps why we got such a good deal. We had a hard time finding a cup a of coffee in the building in the morning other than inthe room. Heating vent rattled all night, windy night. There was mold in the shower - shower door was not sealed and it leaked on the bathroom floor. Bed was not comfortable. […] I mentioned all of this on my way out and they said "Oh, I'll let the engineer know". Great location, fanastic views from all sides. Fine for what we wanted, but not would not pay regular price for that. Mehr

Beautiful hotel in a great area not far from areas of fun. We were disappointed that there were no POP machines. We ended up having to have room service where 2 10 oz sodas were 17 dollars! It would have been nice to grab a drink at the hotel that was reasonable...like the convenience of a POP machine.

The hotel was undergoing renovation. No Valet parking and VERY expensive. Find an alternative.

At a quick glance the room was clean as were the other rooms our friends had booked for the wedding. However, beyonyd the surface the rooms were dirty especially the bathrooms. Just disappointing overall. Sofitel or Hotel 71 would have better fit our needs. However, the wedding group was meeting after the reception at the hotel bar which was promised […] to be open...it was closed. Just disappointing for the cost of the hotel on the surface it's convincing but beyond that not worth it. iHomes that did not work, no refrigerators, no blackout drapes only sheers. again just disappointing. Everything was great till I noticed they had a $75 hold on my account that I was not told about @ check in. When I asked I was told it was for incidentals or movie charges neither which I had also that it would be 5-10 business days till taken off.

Waited 45 mins for them to find my car. other then that the stay was good.

The hotel was great and location was awesome my only complaint is i wanted to swim for mabe a hour and they wanted to charge you 15 dollars a person to swim and use the gym i payed a lot of moneyfor the room i think the pool should be included!

Hotel in under repair and I would not stay there while this is taking place

I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with the Swissotel. It was a bad experience from check in to check out. When I checked in there was a stain on the bed linen. The handset on the one phone in the room didn't work and I was not granted a late check out upon request. Awful customer service.

Great location! Clean, quiet rooms. Wonderful views and great pool. Would stay here again!

The hotel staff was super nice, parking secure and underneath hotel. Room was clean, and the hotel was impeccable. We stayed for one night with some friends, room was large enough for the four of us. We went to second city and old town...had to take cab. Although, quick walk to Millenium Park and Michigan Avenue shops. Great place, would stay again […] . Mehr

I would say that this is a fairly average hotel - no real negatives, no real positives (the view can be nice if you get the right room, which we did not). I was disappointed that the bed preference that I selected was not accomodated ("Booking through a 3rd party are not guaranteed") - guess I needed to read the fine print. Also, check-in was a bit […] lengthy. If you can get a GREAT deal, then go for it - if not, there are better choices in my opinion. Mehr

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Excellent place to watch the fireworks especially on New Years Eve.

Excellent hotel. Very clean, very attentive. A sophisticated atmosphere, yet family friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast buffet at Geneva. The reviews here have panned it, but the buffet offered a lot of choices, and kids under 12 eat free. If I would have known the hotel lobby was under construction I would have stayed at another hotel. The front desk was under staffed. The room was nice. I've heard good things about the hotel but they did not make me a fan.

This hotel Will be my first choice when staying in the Chicago area. Business or whenever I am with the family. Walking distance to the best shopping on Michigan Avenue. The beds are all so comfortable.

I would definately come again. Great views, great staff, and it was close to everything. The indoor gym, sauna, pool and hot tub were top notch.

We loved our stay at the Swissotel but there were some charges that were crazy. We didnt get discount on parking in their ramp, it was $15 a person just to get into the pool, and room service had a $3 delivery fee and then a 22% service charge. A pizza that was $18 ended up costing us $30 with a tip. I hate to complain so much about the price but I […] am a full time student and I am a little tight on cash. Mehr

Not sure if I would recommend at this time - lots of construction; kind of a mess and disorganized. The restaurant is a disaster, no service, too expensive and in the basement. Much better off to walk out the door and go to any number of convenient cafes located up and down Michigan Ave. Parking prices should be taken under consideration when booking […] - they are typical Chicago, but still painful to see on the bill especially if you think you are getting a bargain. Hopefully in the coming months after construction it will improve. Nothing was a deal breaker and I would book again. Mehr

THE HOTEL IS IN A STATE OF CHANGE. THEY ARE REMODELING AND THINGS ARE NOT UP TO THEIR NORMAL STANDARDS. THEY ARE TRYING TO DO A GOOD JOB, BUT CURRENT CONDITIONS DON'T ALLOW THEM TO MEET THEIR NORMAL HIGH STANDARDS. I WILL GO BACK, BUT NOT UNTIL THEIR CURRENT WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED IN THE SPRING.

As picky ai am the price was fair and you can't best the location, view was spectacular and the poll was clean and spacious I will go again...oooh the one bad point was regionally parking $52 for one night eeeeeks...and it took them thirty minutes to bring out to me from wherever t they took it.

You get what you pay for. The rooms are nice. The pool is cold. The hot tub luke warm. The parking lot experienced lines of angry guests including us...nice people but could use much better management. Oh and the breakfast at Palm was a wasteful ripoff. Probably would not stay here again...

The Hotel was less than expected on several counts. Generally I had a feeling that it was seffering fianaincal hardship and sought all oppurtunities to nickel and dime me. For example sending received packages to automatically UPS in a deal that allowed UPS to chage a service fee, they call it a Holding fee just to allow me to pick up the package.Many […] more examples also exist. Also no accomidation is made for the inconvience of the lobby being under construction. Many things would have been appropiate they chose NONE. The worst was when a credit card held for incidentials was, as they say denied. I was not informed about htis until late day two of a prepaid five night stay. They informed me by denying me entry to my room. Added embarsement by haveing security meet me to allow entry to retreve an additoianl card. Keep in mind that they had my $$$ for the entire stay and at most I wored then $15.10 for incidnetials. Since I could not get access neither could reeoem service who did not celan my room for that day. Mehr

Stayed there for a convention in the nearby Hyatt. Great hotel with amenities and close to numerous Chicago attractions, restaurants, etc..

Beautiful facilities and great service!

The night before staying here we stayed at the Hilton. The Hilton is a classic hotel, but it's old. The Swissotel is much more modern, and therefore just seems cleaner and more comfortable. The beds were amazzzing. We had a great view of the pier, the staff was efficient and friendly, the concierge was super helpful. I don't have one negative thing […] to say about this place. Except that my breakfast of a coffee + a banana was $8. Just avoid the breakfast. Mehr
