die anbindung mit den öffentlichen verkehrsmitteln zur innenstadt ist super. das frühstück sehr dürftig, aber daß es 24/7 kaffe und tee umsonst gibt, haben wir oft gern genutzt. der preis schlägt alles! dashotel hat seine besten zeiten schon hinter sich. aber für den preis ist es top.

sehr angenehm. Leider wird beim Frühstück nur Wegwerf-Geschirr verwendet.

Es ist wirklich so schön, wie sie beschreiben. Die grosszügige und einladende Lobby in der ersten Etage diente u.a. dem Weinempfang aller an diesem Tag anreisenden Gäste. Allerdings scheint die Zeit auf 17 bis 18 Uhr begrenzt zu sein. Eher als Ausnahme bekam ich später noch einen Gutschein für die Bar, die nicht ganz so nett ist, wie die Lobby. Beim Frühstück im benachbarten Bistro muss man wissen, was man wählt, um nicht vom Amerikanischen Geschmack überrascht zu werden.

Zu unserer Ueberraschung war alles viel kleiner, als es in den Bildern erscheint. Der Fotograf hat einen super Job gemacht. Dennoch ist das Hotel eine sehr gute Wahl. Allerdings hatten wir eine Suite. Wir haben das Zimmer-Service-Fruehstueck nie genutzt, da es genug guenstige und gute Alternativen in der unmittelbaren Umgebung gibt.

"Under staffed and under construction"
If I would have known the hotel lobby was under construction I would have stayed at another hotel. The front desk was under staffed. The room was nice. I've heard good things about the hotel but they did not make me a fan.

This hotel Will be my first choice when staying in the Chicago area. Business or whenever I am with the family. Walking distance to the best shopping on Michigan Avenue. The beds are all so comfortable.

I would definately come again. Great views, great staff, and it was close to everything. The indoor gym, sauna, pool and hot tub were top notch.

We loved our stay at the Swissotel but there were some charges that were crazy. We didnt get discount on parking in their ramp, it was $15 a person just to get into the pool, and room service had a $3 delivery fee and then a 22% service charge. "Swiss Hotel under construction"
Not sure if I would recommend at this time - lots of construction; kind of a mess and disorganized. The restaurant is a disaster, no service, too expensive and in the basement. Much better off to walk out the door and go to any number of convenient cafes located up and down Michigan Ave. Parking prices should be taken under consideration when booking […] - they are typical Chicago, but still painful to see on the bill especially if you think you are getting a bargain. THE HOTEL IS IN A STATE OF CHANGE. THEY ARE REMODELING AND THINGS ARE NOT UP TO THEIR NORMAL STANDARDS. THEY ARE TRYING TO DO A GOOD JOB, BUT CURRENT CONDITIONS DON'T ALLOW THEM TO MEET THEIR NORMAL HIGH STANDARDS. I WILL GO BACK, BUT NOT UNTIL THEIR CURRENT WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED IN THE SPRING.

As picky ai am the price was fair and you can't best the location, view was spectacular and the poll was clean and spacious I will go again...oooh the one bad point was regionally parking $52 for one night eeeeeks...and it took them thirty minutes to bring out to me from wherever t they took it.

You get what you pay for. The rooms are nice. The pool is cold. The hot tub luke warm. The parking lot experienced lines of angry guests including us...nice people but could use much better management. Oh and the breakfast at Palm was a wasteful ripoff. Probably would not stay here again...
"Swishotel more like nickel and dime hotel"
The Hotel was less than expected on several counts. Generally I had a feeling that it was seffering fianaincal hardship and sought all oppurtunities to nickel and dime me. For example sending received packages to automatically UPS in a deal that allowed UPS to chage a service fee, they call it a Holding fee just to allow me to pick up the package.Many […] more examples also exist. Also no accomidation is made for the inconvience of the lobby being under construction. Many things would have been appropiate they chose NONE. The worst was when a credit card held for incidentials was, as they say denied. I was not informed about htis until late day two of a prepaid five night stay. They informed me by denying me entry to my room. Added embarsement by haveing security meet me to allow entry to retreve an additoianl card. Keep in mind that they had my $$$ for the entire stay and at most I wored then $15.10 for incidnetials. Since I could not get access neither could reeoem service who did not celan my room for that day. Mehr

"A GEM amongst a sea of old / "classic" hotels"
The night before staying here we stayed at the Hilton. The Hilton is a classic hotel, but it's old. The Swissotel is much more modern, and therefore just seems cleaner and more comfortable. The beds were amazzzing. We had a great view of the pier, the staff was efficient and friendly, the concierge was super helpful. I don't have one negative thing […] to say about this place. Except that my breakfast of a coffee + a banana was $8. Just avoid the breakfast. Mehr

"Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff"
This hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The best thing about the rooms are the large windows. The bathroom was a nice size and clean. The water pressure was just right. The rooms are larger size than hotels for a similar price. The only complaint is that it is a little bit off the main road. I knew this when I booked the room […] but I may consider a hotel closer to the main areas. Mehr

"Fall Weekend"
A very nice hotel, particularly for business travelers. Clean and well-appointed with very comfortable beds, but with limited access on foot because of its location on E Wacker Drive. Wireless internet service is overpriced and the signal strength leaves a bit to be desired. I was charged for that service twice in the 24-hour period I was there, as […] well as for a few items I touched but replaced in the refrigerator after missing the tiny warning printed on the inside. The items were removed from my bill without question by the very courteous front desk staff. Examine your bill closely. The Sunday brunch buffet was very good and offered a reasonable value for the quantity and variety offered. I would return to this hotel any time. Mehr

We have stayed in many fine hotels in the River North area and this was the finest and so far our favorite. Definate return. The staff was great!

"Manager (Alex) never responded"
I spent 4 days at the Swiss the 1st thru 5th of October 2011, No water, soap, coffee, shampoo, ect were replaced each day, room was poorly kept by staff. I complained twice to Alex manager on duty and he promissed to get fixed but never did so. He also promissed to ruduce rate and once again never did. This place used to be great....service is everything […] and they simply lost it. Mehr
"Swissotel - Chicago downtown"
the location of the hotel and the views out onto Navy Pier was wonderful. They have a lovely work out facility and pool and hot tub. After walking around all day on Michigan Ave. and Lake shore dr it was a perfect place to go soak in . Our rooms were fairly small but had wonderful views of the river.

"overpriced and not worth it"
The lobby is miniscule and not comfortable. The drinks at the bar a way overpriced. The breakfast restaurant is ugly, overpriced and in the basement. Nothing at all special about this hotel except the high price of the food services. Positive comment. They discount parking for hybrids.

This is probably the cleanest hotel I have ever visited. All the staff were helpful when needed.

We love the location and stayed many times. I think the beds are very worn and uncomfortable. The lighting is so poor in the bathroom I couldn't see to put makeup on. They are using the new spiral lightbulbs and they aren't strong enough.

This place is beautiful. The pool is on the 42nd floor with great veiws of the city, hot tub too!! The only bad part was hotels.com booked me through expedia where I was lead to believe I had booked a suite when really it was just a standard room. The manager fixed the prob with an upgrade for us. "Hotel near Navy Pier"
Great view and good location. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, park in area. However, internet is not free with the room in this hotel - and that was a surprise for this type of hotel. Adds to cost of the room per night if you want this.
