Für einen Sightseeing-Aufenthalt haben wir 2 Nächte hier verbracht. Die Lobby und der Innenhof: famos. Hotel-Angestellte in Livree und zuvorkommend, Chek in war problemfrei. Bis auf die Tatsache, dass das Gepäck entgegen der Ankündigung erst nach längerer Wartezeit und nach einem Anruf aufs Zimmer gebracht wurde. Dann kam das Zimmer: Alles war drin, […] Klima, TV mit Internetzugangsmöglichkeit, Safe, Minibar etc.. Jedoch: im 7. Stock unter dem Dach unmittelbar unter Lüftungsschächten gelegen, deren Ventilatoren deutlich wahrnehmbar arbeiteten. Das Doppelbett war praktisch nur von einer Seite "begehbar", da die andere Seite fast an der Wand stand und ein Verschieben nur in sehr engen Maßen möglich war. Die Fenster waren in einem desolaten Zustand, die Gardienen zum Teil eingerissen, der Seilzugmechanismus nur an einer Seite fehlerfrei bedienbar, Tapete löste sich an einer Stelle von der Wand, die Sitzbank hatte einen Riss und mehrere Oberflächenschäden, Farbe am Schrank war zum Teil fehlend. Kurzum, die technischen Mittel waren vorhanden, die Raumausstattung war alt und abgenutzt. Darüber täuschte auch nicht das mit Marmor ausgekleidete Bad hinweg. In diesem war auch Abnutzung deutlich erkennbar und, was am meisten störte, die großen Handtücher rochen enorm muffig. Erstaunlicherweise war dies bei den kleinen nicht der Fall. Auch das auf-den-Boden-Legen (dann sollten die Handtücher getauscht werden) brachte keine Verbesserung. Fazit: Technik allein reicht nicht, auch der Rest sollte stimmen. Ich gehe davon aus, dass die restlichen Zimmer in den darunter liegenden Stockwerken annehmbarer sind, denn wie sonst würden sich die vielen Sterne erklären lassen, mit denen das Hotel wirbt?! Mehr

Das charmante Hotel ist perfekt gelegen - U-Bahn in unmittelbarer Nähe und sowohl Buckingham Palace als auch Westminster Abbey und Big Ben "within walking distance"! Das Personal war äuserst freundlich und zuvorkommend; das Zimmer trotz zentraler Lage ruhig mit guter Grösse und einem ansprechenden Bad. Einziger klitzekleiner Wehmutstropfen: Das Hotel […] ist etws in die Jahre gekommen und könnte einen sanften Liftup brauchen. Mehr

Nah von Bahnof, super Location, man kann alles zu Füß erreichen.

Sehr schönes und großes Hotel! Wunderbare große Zimmer die normalerweise für London nicht üblich sind! Direkter anschluss an die U-Bahnstation ca. 500 m entfernt. Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert!

Pros: - Excellent location (!), you can do Buckingham palace and Westminster in no time. Tube: St. James's Park is very close, and Victoria station a short walk away. Bus stops available in Victoria street. - In general very positive, service-minded staff. - Tiled, modern bathroom, lovely huge towels, - Large room, we had an extra bed in our room, it […] did not feel crowded at all. Cons: - The carpet was very dirty (ugh!). - Overpriced breakfast!!! (And it didn't taste well either). Best tip: Skip it and eat somewhere else. Mehr

This is a stylish yet old-world feeling hotel a block from Buckingham Palace. It is beautiful and the staff were quite accomodating. It is, however, in the process of being renovated and paint odorl gave one of us a headache all 3 nights we stayed. Still, the renovations are well-done with glamourous new bathrooms, we walked to Parliament, London Eye, […] and Buckingham Palace, and the courtyard is lovely. Unfortunately, it was very cold when we were in London, so we could not enjoy the courtyard. If there in warmer weather, it would be an elegant place to enjoy tea or a drink. Lack of parking is another issue, but that is common to most city hotels. Mehr

Lovely hotel. Newly refurbished room on the fifth floor was lovely and so quiet, you wound know you were in London. 5 min walk to St James's Park tube.

Room was a bit small but was only there for one night. Hotel was a few blocks from Buckingham Palace and alot of great pubs and restaurants. Would TOTALLY stay there again next time I visit London!

We liked the location - not on the main road and the entrance was very welcoming. The reception was very polite and we were made to feel well looked after. We were offered a paper and wake up call for the next morning. We were not so impressed with the room. It was quite small and the bathroom had seen better days. We would stay again but would upgrade […] to a better room. The facilities such as restaurants and spa were very good and generally a very nice experience. Mehr

Beautiful hotel in a terrific location with excellent, helpful staff. Only downside were the amenities in the room. We stayed in a King Suite, the robes were very hard and threadbare, badly needing replacement. Towels and toiletries were limited to two each. Even only two biscuits with the coffee/tea supplies! There was a charge of over £20 to use the […] TV, this is scandalous, basic channels such as CNN and Sky News should be free!!!!!! Also our outlook was the side of another building and a ventilation system, very disappointing for a King Suite! Mehr

This hotel is great for folks in London on business. The St James tube is within minutes and getting to St James from Heathrow is easy if the fast link to Paddington is used.

Crowne Plaza pride themselves on their image well their staff lived up to this as they were all very helpfull indeed But their room did not The room I had was very small & the most disapointing part was the clearence at the end of the bed around 18" to 24" one could not walk past the end of the bed but "Skuttle" & was even worse when using the bathroom […] at night Mehr

FOUND THE STAFF VERY HELPFUL. HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND REASONABLY MODERN WITH A GREAT GYM WHICH WAS FREE. THIS HOTEL WAS CLOSE TO EVERYTHING WE WANTED TO ACCESS. ONLY 1 BLOCK FROM ST. JAMES UNDERGROUND STATION AND 2 BLOCKS FROM THE VICTORIA TRAIN STATION. LOTS OF REASONABLY PRICED CAFES IN THE SURROUNDING AREA.

We picked this hotel for it's location - right around the corner from Buckingham Palace, but we enjoyed it most due to the large room (which was a surprise), the great staff and the very cozy lounge. The hotel was very 'comfortable'. We we also able to walk just about everywhere. We loved it.

The Hampton Lounge was excellent and service excellent.

We were pleased with the location of the hotel it was very central, close to Victoria station, across the road from tube station and 5 min walk to buckingham palace, However our bedroom was very small.

For a "Quick" London visit- 2 1/2 days prior to a cruise ,this was the perfect place to stay. Hotel was nice, clean and super convenient. It was an easy walk to all of our "have to see" locations. A real deal for the price!

From the moment we arrived (7:30 a.m.) we felt so comfortable and well tended to. This was a great location for walking to many things. We absolutely loved our room and the staff was so attentive. This was a wonderful experience for us and I will highly recommend it to our friends and family.

Enjoyed stay at this hotel. Very close to St. James tube station and walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, London Eye, and many other sites. Staff was helpful on getting us a nicer room. Free internet in business center was easily accessible, with three computers and printer. Nice old-fashioned atmosphere. Close to Victoria station and shopping center. A very quiet place in a busy city center.

Check-in was very slow. Courtyard restaurant and bar wait staff rude and ignored us. They also became agitated when we asked for a menu! Bellman did not hire the correct taxi. Bath tub dirty, rusty with mold. Robe felt stiff and scratchy. Nice comfy bed and convenient location to Buckingham Palace.

Perfect choice for a stay in London and great price!

Staff at the hotel were more than helpful. The many restaurants are very good, and the Zander Bar- longest in London, is also a must! The foyer is beautiful, as is the Victorian courtyard where the Bank restaurant stretches outside in a glass conservatory- a most stunning setting. Rooms are slightly dated, the bathrooms are not particularly luxurious, […] although they are clean and adequate. The rooms would benefit from a touch of TLC, but they retain charm, comfort, cleanliness and suit every need imaginable. I would recommend this hotel to anybody, although it is at the upper end of the London market, and for a small sum extra, one could stay at the Ritz. Mehr

This hotel was really nice and by UK standards, our room was larger than expected. The front desk service was great and the desk clerks very helpful. The concierge desk was often staffed by snobby old men - when I did get a younger fellow - they were nice and helpful. My impression is this hotel thinks it is fancier than it is. Don't get me wrong - […] it was a very nice hotel, but people were a little rude and not particularly friendly. Snobs would be the best word. I don't quite fit that category, so it was a little uncomfortable at times. The location is great! 5 min. walk to Buckingham Palace - close to St. James Park and the underground by the same name. A small grocer market next store, cashpoint (ATM) nearby and plenty of pubs, bars, and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again, and hotels.com made it affordable (at least for central London). If you request a single bed room, all they do is split a king size bed - which is fine, but just know what you are getting - not two queens, or two doubles, but two twin beds. Mehr

Staff were well trained and helpful. The hotel was really well positioned for Buckingham palace and other tourist sights. Only disappointment was that the room wasn't as plush as the rest of the hotel.

I love beautiful old hotels. And this was it. Cosy, comfortable and very English. Just perfect for a fan of the English. And 2 minutes from Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately the Queens Gallery was closed until mid June. So next time.

Very nice business type hotel. Well maintained, fantastic staff. The pluses outweigh the minuses, but a few gripes. Internet in room overpriced at £10/day, but free use of business center machines. Restaurant food fair to good, and of course overpriced. Room a bit small with only 18" clearance between bed and opposite wall. Older building, so maybe […] my room was not the norm. Mehr

-Very conveniently located. -Close to all major touristy venues, including shops and restaurants. -Cordial and quick with room service. -Fast moving breakfast services.

Every aspect of our stay at this hotel went beautifully, from check in to check out. The staff was friendly and curteous and helpful in every way. We enjoyed having the paper delivered to our room each morning, as well as the complimentary chocolates and bottled water. The beds were very comfortable, the room quiet and restful. I have been to London […] on six other occasions, and have stayed in properties that were more expensive,... but this was by far, the best hotel experience I have ever had in that lovely city. Mehr

The Hotel Crowne Plaza, St James is an an excellent location, walking distance to Buckingham Palace and the Open top buses. Cafes, a convenience store and and an excellent pizza shop are right outside this hotel. Makes it very easy for people with walking disabilities. Do not get the rooms on the first floor as you will hear the noise from the tube. […] The rooms overlooking the garden, which was on the 4th floor was just perfect. Mehr

Enjoyed the stay very much. Located just a couple of blocks from Buckingham Palace and close to all bus services and underground. Great local pubs nearby. Staff at hotel were very professional. Free internet service was very convenient.

My husband got sick. The concierge was very concerned ..called cab to go to hospital...Also made excellent arrangements to go to airport.

Great hotel with superb service and a pretty good location. The courtyard is absolutely beautiful. There is a great pub called The Albert down the street but for the most part the area does not have a lot to offer for restaurants and almost nothing for nightlife.

The Crowne Plaze St. James is a very nice hotel in a somewhat inconvenient location--unless you want to spend time around Buckingham Palace. A good walk up to major shopping, theatre, and museums. Comfortable and modern room and fairly quiet. My room was next to the maid's service closet, so considerable banging in the early morning marred the tranquility. […] Desk staff were responsive as much as they could be. The nearest tube spot is a few blocks away, though at night it was a bit confusing coming back to the hotel and the area is dark and a bit deserted after 9 PM. As a woman alone, I felt a bit nervous walking back but not terribly so. Overall, a nice hotel. Mehr
