Light switch did not work. No bath fan. Outrageous prices for breakfast! No access to wireless unless you paid over $7/hr. Not located near the good shopping area. Not at all as advertised!!

This was a beautiful hotel, very satisfied with this booking, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nicely decored,spacious, the beds were amazing.....the food in the restaurant was a little pricey, but very tastey. The only thing I found a little weird was that for 1544 rooms they only had 1 pool....it was Easter weekend that […] we were there and it was quite busy.....but I would definately stay there again and recommend this hotel to friends and family. We spent Easter weekend at the Hilton Chicago and had a great visit. The Hotel is well located by the Park and came with a parking package which was convenient and reasonable value. It has a good Convenience Store on the ground floor for snack/breakfast. Hotel was the Largest Hotel in the World when built in the 20's and walking to your room offers […] good chance to exercise. Hotel is located near the major attraction in the city so location is very good however hotel property is very old, room carpet were worn out and looks dirty. washroom was in Ok condition.

Lovely view and very convenient to Grant Park as well as Millenuim Park.

Everything was fine. Location was great for walking to museums and nearby restaurants. Lakeshore across Michigan Avenue allowed for pleasant walks and a run. Self-park lot was filled so $57 per night valet parking rate was unexpected.

Don't even think about swimming. +there are kids shouting, running and diving everywhere... very noisy and not the place I would recommend to get some rest. -- : The bar closes @ 11pm so you better plan your evening outside because even if the place is cosy (with fireplace) and prices are not that expensive, you can't expect to order a Mojito after 11. That's crazy in an hotel of that size... There is another bar opened til 3 in th morning but they don't make mojitos so you're stuck and you'll have to put you coat on and go spend your money somewhere else... Mehr

Everything about the hotel was great, except the rooms were not renovated and showed their age. Not a typical Hilton experience

Great price for a upscale hotel. Comfortable beds, nice swimming pool and fitness area. Multiple dining option. Only bad thing that I noted was the cleanliness of the room. I saw tons of dust bunnies plus there was a broken coffee stirrer and hair tie on the floor that did not belong to us.

I thought the hotel was beautiful and the people were friendly, but I asked twice for the room temperature to be lowered to be more comfortable and they did, but throughout the night, it was muggy and uncomfortable. I had a bad night's sleep. Also, they should consider free wi-fi. Won't stay there again.

We love this hotel - close to many of the museums and great rooms. Beds and pillows are dreamy. Overnight valet parking was $57, not the $44 quoted online, and not even for a full 24 hrs. Hotel restaurant was yummy, but our server was disinterested. Regardless, would come back.

While this hotel is looking a little dated (perhaps retro?) in its decor, it is very comfortable. The elevators are very fast, the concierge service was outstanding, and breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Hilton hotel is amazing . Our room was smaller then what I expected for the price we paid. In the bathrooom there was no cold water so taking shower was not possible and water pressure from the bathroom sink was very poor . After we reported it to the front desk they fixed the problem after couple of hours.

What an awesome experience. The best to stay at if you want to be close to the museum, aquarium and planetarium. You can walk to pretty much anything. Grant park is right across the street. The hotel staff are very helpful. The hotel is very clean. Make sure you have enough change for tips. Valet, bell hop, cabs, restaurants. Get a lake view room.

We rode the Harley in on St. Pat's - The Hilton Chicago was very accommodating, parking us in a great, secure location just in front of the office. The hotel itself was fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful. The nice thing about the Hilton, it's withing walking distance of just about anywhere you would want to go, The Mile, Millenium Park, Field […] History Museum and Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier. We enjoyed walking to several Pubs for the celebrations and being right on top of the parade route! The Hilton Chicago will definitely be my hotel of choice when visiting downtown Chicago! Mehr

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who asks. The staff was professional, friendly, and went out of their way to insure that our every need was met. For all of the upgraded, state-of-the-art amenities provided on our recent stay I was VERY disappointed in what was missing. The light switches did not function at all and we had to search for a switch on a lamp before we could get any light. The desk lamp did not function at all, making the desk space shadowy and difficult to work at. There were many […] in-room entertainment options to choose from (too many, really), but it was very difficult to simply find a decent TV show for my child (9 years old) to watch while I cleaned up and got ready for dinner. Navigation was difficult in the TV system (problem of the controller) and options were more limited and harder to find than anywhere else I have recently stayed. The large cabinet below the TV, built for a small refrigerator, was empty -- no fridge, just air. This made bringing home the leftovers from dinner pointless. No newspaper, local or national, was either offered or provided in the room in the morning, so I stumbled into my day without it. It was a series of lapses that differentiate a really great hotel from one that is merely pretentious. Mehr

This Hotel is Beautiful to visit. The room was amazing with gold bathroom fixtures, touch screen desktop computer & really comfy pillows plus a great view.. I would reccomend anyone to stay here, & I will definately be coming back

Great location, helpful staff, great pub downstairs. Amenities were very nice. Would highly recommend.

me and my boyfriend stayed there for a concert but I was initially thrown off when we were placed on a floor right below construction with no other guest. But with one phone call to the front desk we were moved to an upgraded room away from the loud construction. The workers were extremly nice and helpful, and the hotel was down the street from shopping […] and less than 10 minutes from the united center. Mehr

The old Conrad Hilton hotel still has the fancy ballrooms. The King room was small but comfortable for the 2 of us. Bathroom a little outdated for the 21st century. The Executive floor was worth it for appetizers at night and breakfast in the morning. Parking package was well worth it. Locatation wasn't bad. Mile walk from the Milennium Bean. Taxis […] were $10 each way to the Theatre district and waiting out front. Staff was very friendly. Mehr

The foyer is stunning, as are many of the original period details. It is a very large complex, and sometimes we wished there was a shuttle to ferry us back and forth from our room! Decor is traditional but somewhat tired, and our room had far too much clunky, oversized furnishings for comfort. The in-room computer was nice, but the attached fees were […] NOT. The pool and gym facilities are very handy, but the Irish pub was closed. There was some unpleasant rennovation noise on our floor, and when we contacted the front desk it ceased immediately. They also gifted us a free breakfast for the inconvenience. Location is a bit south of the main Loop area, but cabs are plentiful and the El is only a couple blocks away. Mehr

The pool was a bit cold

The price was great and the location was wonderful. Great service.

I stayed overnight at the Hilton Chicago with a friend, and it was a great experience. Check-in was quick and easy with a very friendly receptionist. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. We went at Christmastime, which made it even more impressive with the decorations and the huge tree in the lobby. Our room was comfortable and clean, and there […] were plenty of TV channels and movies on demand to choose from. We ordered a pizza from room service, which arrived quickly and was delicious! We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast buffet the following morning in their well-decorated and modern restaurant, and that food was also perfect. A lot to choose from, and all delicious. We checked out very easily, just using the TV in our room. All in all, an excellent one-night stay, and I would definitely go back. Mehr

Overall it was a nice place. However the water pressure in the shower was terrible. The tv reception was not great. There was no microwave in our room and the fridge was not cold and we found no way to turn it up. And finally, the charge for parking was ridiculous. I will probably not stay here again.
