Der Grand Place ist schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen

Beim Verlassen des Zimmers um 12.30h positionieren wir das Schild ' please make up the room'. Als wir um 18.00h wieder kommen, finden wir einen Zettel vor, daß das Zimmer nicht mehr aufgeräumt werden konnte, da es bereits zu spät war. Auf unsere Frage nach einem späterem check out am Abreisetag, sagte man uns, daß der Preis für ein check out um 15.00h, […] statt 12.00h, 25% des StandardZimmerpreises beträgt. Beides habe ich in einem 5 * Haus noch nicht erlebt. Ebenfalls sind die Preise für das infotainment sehr hoch. Mehr

Die Aussicht auf das Feuerwerk war fantastisch. Bei offenem Fenster im vierten Stock, hat man die beste Sicht auf das Feuerwerk.

Freundlicher Empfang, hilfsbereites und für jeden Wunsch offenesPersonal, zentrale Lage, von der aus Sehenswürdigkeiten als auch Einkaufsstraßen auch zu Fuß ( von 200 m zum Grande Place bis ca. 3,5 km bis zur Avenue Louise) zu erreichen. Auf dem Weg zur Louise sollte man dem Magritte-Museum und dem (gerade in Renovierung befindlichen) Justizpalast einen […] Besuch abstatten. Friendly employees, just one minute from the central station by foot - son it is not necessary to take a taxi from the airport - the train is much faster due to a lot of traffic on the road. Minibar prices thought were a stiff. Internet worked fine. If your roonm faces the trainstation it is unbearable to open the window. We did not mind and would stay […] again in this hotel. Concierge works excellent; really good leads / suggestions for restaurants. Hotel is located smack in the center with every attraction within walking range. Restaurant facilities and selection of food for breakfast could be better. It turned out, that on 1 May the restaurant is closed - that is not 5 star standard. Also, there was one or two parties […] / celebrations going on during our stay, so the restaurant was also closed for those events, so only the bar area was available for dining. No swimming pool, however fitness works 24h. Overall we believe this hotel is a four star hotel, not five star. Mehr

Lovely hotel, very central. breakfast wasn't included in our rate and is expensive in the hotel but close to many restaurants so that wasn't a problem. It was great to be able to print our boarding tickets in the computer room and we enjoyed a few cocktails in the hotel bar (the complimentary snacks were a nice touch). Definitely will be back!

Would not recommend this hotel if you need to use internet. Their connection is slower than a dial up connection from the 90s. If all you need is a bed to snooze in front of the train station than it is ok. Not worth at all the price!!!

Centrally located, charming hotel. Service was very good and the rooms were pretty and clean. They are renovating at the moment and so it will be even better. I would stay there again.

Very nice hotel and centrally located to all. I would recommend requesting a room on a higher floor. I stayed on the 2nd floor and could hear street noice at night since the hotel is directly across from the Central train station.

The hotel was OK, but not even close to be titled 5stars!

The location of the hotel is great, but they were doing renovations and the rooms were too hot! Not sure if the A/C was working or not, but we could not control the temperture in our room. The staff was friendly and professional.

Great location at excellent rate. Only weak points are the extremely weak concierge service and a somewhat outdated building and interior design.

The hotel has a really good location. The only thing we did not like was that we could not open the windows to cool down the room. And the air conditioner did not work either. But Le Meridian is always clean and has nice rooms. You can't go wrong if you stay here.

I recently stayed at the Le Meridien in February 2012. I caught the Eurostar from London for a business trip and stayed here to relax after my meetings. The hotel is 1 train stop from the Midi station and the train is free with the use of your Eurostar ticket! The hotel is directly across the street from the train station called Central Station. The […] hotel's location is perfect. Tons of stores & restaurants are only 2 blocks away. Try the Greek pitas near the Haagen-Dazs, they are only 4euros and taste great!! There is a market across the street on the weekends as well. The area felt safe for me being Im a young single female. I felt as if the hotel was the best in the area as well. The rooms are fabulous, have wash cloths, the bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, and there is also a computer room near the lobby with free internet access. My room was situated on the street side & I didnt hear any noise and had a great rest. The staff are very helpful, they signed me up for a starwood alliance membership card which I appreciated. They also hold your bags if you need them to after you check out. Only thing I wish to make you aware of- they charge a small fee upfront for miscellaneous fees for each day. I fully paid on hotels.com but they still wanted more money but all my cards were blocked because I did not have time to call my bank before I left. You can try have the reception block your room from making any charges to avoid this fee. Looking forward to going back longer and doing some tours ;-) Mehr

Le Meridien Brusels is an extreme value in a prime location with an excellent staff both attentive to needs and prompt to react.

Initially we thought that the hotel was possibly under renovation from the approach to it but then realised it was not the case but there were public streetworks. It is handy to the railway which is across the road but not that noticeable so it does not really have that 'railway hotel' feeling, and from the rooms, one looks out over the Groote Markt […] area which is immediately behind the hotel and is a wonderful myriad/ maze of streets. We were there for all the Weinachts festivities so we had the extended market spreading out through all the little streets. The hotel is also in close proximity to other sites notably the Cathedral of St Michael and St Gudula, almost 200metres or so away. The room was very comfortable and the bed for us as parents was comfortable as was the trundle bed for our daughter. Breakfast was nice and well presented and the staff friendly and efficient. Right outside the Central station. Great location and within walking distance to everything. Don't buy food at the hotel...it is WAY too expensive.

Nice hotel, near the station and just few minutes from the main square.We arrived by car without any problem following gps instructions.A garage is available.

The hotel looks nice outside but is a disaster inside. The room temperature was set at 85f the thermostat was broken. The upholstered chair had a 2 foot tear. The bathroom sink was cracked from the drain to the top of the sink. The bathroom floor had streaks that looked like it was last cleaned with a dirty mop. Internet access was charged per day and […] was expensive. The remote control did not seem to work with the TV. Avoid this place like the plague! Mehr

This is a great location if you want to be near the Grand Place and other tourist areas! One of my tour books mentioned Le Meridien being in the "seedy" area around the Central train station, but I found nothing "seedy" about the area and thought the hotel was very convenient and fairly quiet -- or, at least, as quiet as any hotel is when you're separated […] from others by a single wall, floor and/or ceiling. I also read another reviewer who complained about having to pay for TV, but that reviewer simply misunderstood the TV system. Every time you turn on the TV, you were shown a "special offer" that gave you access to "TV, movies and internet" for a set price; however, if you just wanted to watch TV, there was no charge. (I presume there was some type of on-demand TV programs that were included in the package, but I never opted for it, so I don't know.) I was also pleasantly surprised to find that I had 30 minutes of free internet access every day. (It may have been mentioned somewhere, but, if it was, I overlooked it.) The room size and bathroom size were also very good, especially for Europe, but I did have just a "superior" room with a queen bed, so I don't know if the rooms with a king bed or 2 single beds may seem crowded/small. Le Meridien is the perfect place to stay is Burssels - perfect location, exceptional service, and the room was one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in, anywhere. Loved this hotel!

Very nice hotel, great location

There is nothing to compare or match the service level n hotel lay out n rooms. The Manager of the Le Meridien Brussels should take a trip to Thailand n learn from their own chain. Up grade the service level n change the carpet in the room would be nice.

I found a good rate for our vacation stay in Brussels. The hotel is right outside the central station. Many of the key points of interest are nearby, the starting point for many tours including the tour bus is nearby, and there are many coffees/restaurants in the sourroundings. Definitively, great choice

Great location near the central station. Rooms need refurbishing. Our room was not clean. Unloading our car was difficult as we could not drive up close to the entry.

We had a very comfortable stay at this most centrally located hotel. The staff was courteous and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to my friends as well.

Location across from Brussels Central is amazing. Its close to Grand Place and other sites. Location wise, its amazing. Service was very poor. Had a complaint about the room and the night receptionist told me he could not do anything, and there was no night manager. In the end, they made no effort to make us happy. Room had worn carpet and a mix match […] of old and modern furniture. Definitely not up to Starwood hotel standards. Mehr

My partner and I stayed for 4 nights at Le Meridian. Firstly we were over the moon with the location of the hotel. You can step straight off the airport train right onto the doorstep of the hotel. No expensive taxis, no long journeys. FANTASTIC! We sent a request to the hotel by email before we arrived to request a newly renovated room but they had […] not received or aknowledged our email upon arrival. The girl at the desk wasnt that friendly in regards to this and didnt really seem to want to help us with this request. We were put in a room on level 3 of the hotel. This was one of the older rooms but we were pleasantly surprised. The room was exceptionally clean, tidy and cosy. The bed was amazing! We missed house keeping the first day but on the second day all our amenties were replaced, where usually they do not unless you have finished completely the ones you had. We couldnt have had a more comfortable and pleasant stay in this respect. On the day of checkout we requested slippers to take home and they arrived at our door 2 minutes later. Great Service! The Le Meridian is conviently located to LOTS of bars, restaurants and shops 1 minute around the corner. This area was busy with people each night we were there. Great atmosphere! Overall the Le Meridan is slightly dated but perfectly located and exceptionally comfortable. Give it a try! Mehr

This was a lovely room. Verz comfortable and clean. The location was also great. I would definitely stay there again.

Our stay at Le meridien was great. Phillipe was fantastic and gave us all the great recommendations and was friendly throughout. I wished he would have been there our whole stay, even he needs a day off. Thanks for the comfortable beds, cleanliness and great amenities. Super location across from Centraal Station means you save on cab fare from the airport. 5 minute walk to Grand Place, 10 minute walk to St. Geiry neighborhood, 10 minute walk to shopping district, 10 minute walk to large park, 20 minute walk to Avenue Louise. Beautiful lobby in this grand old hotel. Nice bar as well. Rooms were large for Europe. Some […] areas of the room/hall were in need of some fresh paint but nothing major. Ice machine on my floor was broken, but they delivered ice within minutes of my request. Courteous front desk and conceirge. I received an early check for my previous stay a week earlier but this time my room was not ready. I asked for and was given an umbrella from the conceirge desk and took a stroll in the neighborhood, grabbed a cafe and then my room was ready. A great deal given what I paid for on Hotels.com. Mehr

Right in the heart of Brussels, behind the Grand place, the shopping streets and all the touristic places. Courteous and friendly and helpful staff! The room had been newly redecorated in a very VERY tasteful mix of modern and 70's style !!! Beautiful ! Great location, great service but I won't return because they have no WiFi in rooms.

Excellent hotel very conveniently located just opposite the Central Station and in the city centre near the Grand Place and restaurants etc. As I arrived early in the morning the room was not available so I left my bags and went away to a business meeting. However it took three keys to get into the toilet on the ground floor. Also difficulty with the […] electronic keys in the room when I eventually checked-in. Out of four keys three didn't work. Nevertheless I had a pleasant stay. Mehr

I find the hotel to be very easy to find and convenient located. It's just across the train station. The room was a bit small but very clean and comfortable. Internet is not free and local land lines are very expensive. However, I will most definitely stay there again if I do travel to Brussels again.

Had only one night to spend, before flying back to US. The Concierge was so helpfull to find what I needed. Everything was walking dinstace, Gallerie de la Reine, Grand Place, Sablon and the Central train station across the hotel.

Never been to Brussels before, but if I go back I will be staying here again. I think for the location and price it was great. Also the room was BIG! I was surprised. It wasn't like the hotel's in the states, but I wasn't expecting that so I was not dissapointed. I would recommend.

The Le Meridien is a rated as a five star hotel, but I would give it 3.5. Yes, the lobby is very nice, and the bathrooms are spacious and classy. Even the beds are quite cozy, but it all ends pretty much right there. In my room, the AC was non-existent. No matter how low I set the temperature, I still woke up very uncomfortable. Then there's the overall […] condition of the infrastructure. The elevators work off of the room key, but unless you put the card exactly the right way, you could not call the elevator from the lobby level. Staff said, "You just have to learn how to work it." My response: "For what I'm paying you, no, I shouldn't have to figure out." It should simply work, without having to ask for assistance. Then there is the malfunctioning power outlet by the desk. The next closest outlet is a good ten feet away. I am not in the habit of packing extension cords on business trips. When I mentioned it to reception, their response was: "You must understand, the building is old." My response: "I understand that you are supposed to be a 5 star hotel and I am paying you a high price to stay here." Finally, there is the noise. The hotel location is great for accessing the Grand Place and the Central train station, which is literally 50 yards from the front door. The problem is, the Brussels government turned the space between the two buildings from a major road into a plaza, where the city now stages events. It makes it real difficult to work, relax or sleep when the plaza is in use - whether for an officeal function or as a gathering point for the protest/parade of the month. So, there you have it. A great hotel now more or less a good hotel. You can get the same service in a better setting for less money in Brussels. Mehr

Hotel is situated right next to the Conference Center and the major tourist attraction, the Grand Place. It is also located near most of the tourist attractions in Brussels.

The hotel is strategically located: near the train stationa and several of the sights in Bruseels. The hotel however needs a lot of repair and updating: the carpets are worn, the tiles are stained, the furnitures are antiquated, the room is dusty. I was initially charged a bar bill which I contested since I and my spuse did not even set foot in the […] bar or had room service. I called my credit card company after getting an invoice via email from Le Meridien for a bar bill, I then learned that they are not only trying to charge me a bar bill, they also charged the hotel room again that was prepaid through hotels.com. Had some problems. Television went on and off, they tried to book someone else in our room so they attempted to enter in the middle of the night (fortunately we had the chain on). Seemed more like a 3-star than a 5 star hotel.

We had a wonderful trip to Brussels, it was more enjoyable because Le Meridien was right in the spot with good access to all major attractions. The staff were very good and went extra mile to keep us happy. Surely, if we go to Brussels again, will stay in the same hotel.

The hotel has a perfect location, in the heart of brussels just opposite of the main train station. It's clean and well kept. However, the concierge tried to convince me that there was no other way of getting to Charleroi airport at 4:30am other than the hotel limo service that costs 200 euro. To my surprise i found a bus service operated by ryanair […] from midi station (in brussels) that only costs 10 euro. Other than that, the service was good. Mehr
