"Gut, solide... zurzeit im Umbau"Bewertet von hans g aus "Uster, Schweiz" am 20. Mrz. 2012
Positiv: - Schöne Lage gleich am See, zudem in unmittelbarer Nähe zur "Altstadt" - Sauberes Zimmer mit einem freundlichen persönlichen Begrüssungsschreiben und ein paar Süssigkeiten. - Parkhaus (ca. CHF. 20.- p./T.) Negativ: - Nur 2 deutsche Fernsehprogramme (SF1/SF2) und diese sind erst noch wild verteilt zwischen Programmplatz 1 und 100, wovon 50 kein Signal empfangen, und einige franz. Sender 4 mal programmiert sind) - Hotel ist Zurzeit im Umbau (Anbau). Könnte während der Woche störend sein. Grundsätzlich gutes, solides Hotel, absolut empfehlenswert.

Für den Autosalon in Genf haben wir ein Hotel in näher Umgebung gesucht. Das Hotel ist mit dem Auto ca. 15 - 20 min von der Messe entfernt. Das Preis leistungs Verhältnis hat Super gepasst. Kostenloser Parkplatz und recht moderne zimmereinrichtung sorgten für einen angenehmen aufenthalt. Sehr zu empfehlen
Lage
Dieses Hotel befindet sich in Genf. Die Unterkunft liegt in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Englischer Park, Barbier-Mueller Museum und La Perle-la-Lac. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten Kathedrale St. Peter und Jet d'Eau befinden sich außerdem in der Nähe.

Das Zentrum von Genf ist voller gepflasterter Straßen, blumengeschmückter Brunnen und Häuser aus grauem Stein mit Fensterläden. Museen, Boutiquen, Bistros und archäologische Sehenswürdigkeiten drängen sich um den Place du Bourg-de-Four und die nahe gelegene Kathedrale Saint Pierre. Die Kirche nebenan ist der Temple de l'Auditoire. Das Maison Tavel aus dem 14. Jahrhundert ist das älteste Haus der Stadt Genf. In ihm befindet sich ein Museum zur Stadtgeschichte.

Hotel liegt vis a vis des Bahnhofs. Drumherum tost der Verkehr. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber sauber und ordentlich. Wer eine einfache Schlafgelegenheit für wenige Nächte sucht, ist m.E. nicht schlecht bedient. Mit einer Air Condition oder einem Kühlschrank/Minibar im Zimmer sollte man allerdings nicht rechnen.

"Die Lage war für uns ideal"
da wir bloss für eine Nacht in Genf verweilten, unsere Französisch Kenntnis eher gering sind, war die Lage und die Bemühungen des Personals sehr, sehr gut. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, ruhig und das Frühstück hervorragend. Wir können es weiterempfehlen, auf alle Fälle, Preis/Leistung super!

"eine Nacht in Genf"
Das Hotel liegt sehr praktisch gleich gegenüber vom Hauptbahnhof. Wir haben kurz eingecheckt, Tasche ins Zimmer und gingen weiter an ein Konzert. Der See ist ca. 8 Minuten vom Hotel, libanesisches, mexikanisches u.a. Restaurants gleich hinter dem Hotel richtung See. Das Zimmer war sauber und ruhig.

"Klimaanlage fehlte definitiv"
Dieses Hotel habe ich nicht zum ersten Mal wegen seiner Lage ausgewählt. Bisher war ich auch stets zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind klein aber gemütlich und sehr sauber. Auch Reception und Empfangsbereich sind in guten Zustand und das Personal freundlich. Bei einem Hitzetag (32°C° wie am 22.8. ist das Hotel wegen seiner lauten Lage am Bahnhofplatz aber nicht […] sehr geeeignet. Nächstes Mal werde ich mich rechtzeitig wegen der Wetterverhältnisse erkundigen und evt. ein anderes Hotel wählen. Mehr

Buchung/Reservation/Bestätigung - alles perfekt. Hotel aus den 1970-ern mit entsprechender Ausstattung in allen Belangen. Lift, Zimmer, etc. Bettmattrazzen so durchgelegen, dass es bequemer ist, gleich auf dem Boden zu schlafen. Surrender, lärmender Generator/Gerät im Zimmer - die ganze Nacht über. "Bezahlt wird die Lage."
Das Hotel befindet sich direkt am Bahnhofplatz in Genf und ist damit sehr zentral, hervorragend angeschlossen an den öffentlichen Verkehr und auch eine gute Ausgangslage für Spaziergänge. Die Freundlichkeit des Hotelpersonals reicht von gut bis schlecht. Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer ist in Ordnung, die Betten sind dagegen schon sehr durchgelegen, Kissen […] und Decke unbequem. Der Gesamtzustand des Hotels wirkt eher heruntergekommen. Im Ergebnis erscheint das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis als ungenügend. Mehr
"Angenehme Lage und hervorragender Preis"
Diese alte aber gut erhaltene Hotel direkt gegenüber des Bahnhofs Genf ist eine echte Überraschung. Unser Zimmer war für Stadtmitte sehr gross und das Bad riesig. Es fehlte nichts für ein Hotel dieser Klasse. Das Personal an der Reception und beim Frühstück war sehr zuvorkommend und sympatisch. Gerne wieder!

"Günstig, zentrale Lage aber dafür laut"
Die Lage ist zentral am Bahnhof, jedoch sehr laut. Die 3 Sterne sind etwas geschmeichelt, Zimmer und Bad ok jedoch im Frühstücks"raum" muß man oft warten um einen Platz zu ergattern, das Servierpersonal ist nur zu zweit, sehr bemüht aber hoffnungslos überfordert. Zudem funktionierte die Keycard für das Zimmer nicht und es mußte jedesmal die Rezeption […] bemüht werden. Kurzum günstig wenn man nur eine Nacht bleibt, Parkgarage gleich gegenüber. Mehr

"Bernina"
Dreadful. Arrived late and lone reception staff member extremlely courteous. Room v shabby & cramped. Breakfast rudimentary & waiter on duty plain rude. Neighbourhood scary. Avoid.
"Awful sound proofing"
The room was fine, in terms of size (for Geneva) and cleanliness. Breakfast was ok, if rather dull. Staff were pleasant. However, the reason why I will not return was the awful sound proofing. I was woken at 4 am by the snores of the guy in the next room, and then a fight/very noisy quarrel outside at 5 am ensured that I did not sleep. Given that Swiss […] windows are usually superb, there is no excuse for being able to hear road noise when you are 3 floors up. I wanted to like this hotel but the noise levels just ruined my whole stay. Mehr
OK Hotel right across from the train station which is convenient if traveling by this method. Hotel was clean and the room a bit small. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the best in Geneva. Good for a 1 night stay if catching a train or flight the next morning but if vacationing for multiple days perhaps try a different part of the city.
basic hotel near the rail station, very convenient and perfect for an overnight stay. Hotel main areas have been renovated but the rooms, though large by European standards and clean, have no decor and 1950's industrial carpeting. Breakfast was includent and ok. But for longer stays, find a hotel in a better neighborhood.
Very handy location and great value for Geneva. Decor is a bit seventies - retro!

"Hotel in Geneva"
Hi we stayed at this hotel for 1 night only it was convenient for everywhere in Geneva city centre. Another pillow on the bed would have provided more comfort and the rooms were basic but clean. Decor was a little tired but the hotel served the purpose we required.
"Bernina Swiss Q Hotel - Geneva"
Great location, close to the train station for easy access to/from the airport. A few minutes walk away from the lake. Room was basic but very clean. WiFi service was excellent. Good breakfast and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay again!

This hotel right outside (opposite) to Geneva train station. It's max 2-3 minute walk from the station. By the way, its on the left side as you come out of the station and looking across the street. It only says BERNINA and not BERNINA SWISS on the board outside the building. Staff is very friendly. Service was very good. Breakfast was very good. Just […] keep in mind that the rooms are small. Good for 2 people. We were 4 but we managed. It had the best bed and linen/comforters. Very soft and warm. Would highly recommend it. Mehr

Simple but good hotel. Very close to the train station (just across the street) and surrounded by restaurants, Mcdonalds, starbucks etc. ask for a twin bed room because the double was uncomfortable.

"Hotel Bernina Swiss Q"
Very disappointing! Not quite a dump, but close! I realize Geneva is an expensive city, but this hotel is right on the margins of being a flop house. Never again! Don't go there if you want to be comfortable. Beds were crummy, bathroom was cramped. Plumbing weird.
"Good deal, convenient location"
The Bernina is *right* across from the train station, so, depending on what you're doing in Geneva, it's possible that you might not find a better location in town. Also, there is a perfectly serviceable pub right next door. The hotel is typically European in its layout, and so the rooms are modestly sized and the conveniences likewise modest, but […] the room was exactly as advertised and contained all the necessary comforts. My room had a double bed, a TV (which I did not use), and a bathtub (which I did use). The staff was cheerful, helpful, and willing to speak English. Also, they don't charge for Internet access, which is a *major* plus in Europe. The only downside I can think of is that the breakfast wasn't really all that, but... it's a continental breakfast. In this regard the Bernina is at least not worse than other places in Geneva. I would totally stay at the Bernina again! Mehr
"smack bang in the city centre"
A 3 star hotel in the center of it all. Rail station is just across, shopping and restaurants surround the hotel and most of the attraction is just a few minutes walk away. If you need a decent hotel with no frills, you cannot go wrong with Bernina. The only downside is that there is no exhaust in the bathroom and no air conditioner in the room. "Hotel Bernina, Geneva -- close to train station"
So close to walk to from train station, but be sure to print close-up map or ask at information before leaving station. Nice sized room and BIG bathroom! Friendly , helpful staff with electrical converter to lend. Better than average breakfast with fresh fruit. Good restaurants nearby and an easy walk down to the lake.
"Shower"
The shower takes a bit of maneuvering as it is not mounted in typical North American style. You really get a great European feel with the tub however. Some will love it, some will hate it.

First of all, this is more of a boutique hotel, or should I say typical European hotel. The building is older, but well maintained. If you are going in the heat of the summer, beware there is no A/C, but the room had a nice fan and good ventilation. This was not an issue for us in late Sept. The location is convenient. The train station with free train […] to the airport is right across the street, and the train ride is only 6 minutes to the airport. We left the hotel at 9:15 and were at the United Counter in the airport at 9:37. There was no noticeable noise or distraction from the station being so close. The benefits of; free breakfast, free wi-fi, free public transportation passes also make staying here a breeze. Check in/out was painless as the staff had excellent English skills. Walking distance to most everything. 10 minutes to heart of Old Town. I would recommend this to fellow American "open minded" travelers who are ~not~ looking for an Embassy Suites or Spa based hotel. Overall a great value considering Geneva is very expensive. Mehr
"Very thin walls"
I was pretty jetlagged when I arrived in Geneva. It did not help thatvthe walls are VERY thin. I can hear my next room neighbor's every move in the middle of the night-- his snore, his phone buzzing, his footsteps to and from the bathroom, toilet flushing. And mind you, not that my neighbor was loud, it was just that the walls were very thin! I can […] imagine how it could have even been worse had It been a bunch of teenagers partying all night Needless to say, I was ready to move out the next day, regardless that I had already paid for my entire stay. I would avoid this hotel at all cost. It is not in te safest neighborhood either. The only redeeming factor is that, it s very close to the train sation, perfect if you are going in and out of Geneva. Mehr
"Bernina Swiss Quality Hotel Geneva"
Not a bad hotel, and conveniently located just across the street from the main railroad station as well as local transportation to all parts of the city. Breakfast room was a little cramped, but our stay was at a busy time with many tour groups, so that is probably why. Included breakfast is all right, though nothing to write home about.

Hotel is quite close to the railway station. Value for money hotel for very short stay.
Small room, but close to the main train station and nice. Free wireless internet and breakfast.

The hotel was fine, and reasonably priced compared to other options, although I found Geneva to be a very expensive city overall. It is conveniently located to metro bus stops and a number of restaurants.

Room was not one of the cheapest booked on our trip but was probably the worst one - very crowded room in a drab, old hotel. One bonus though was the free wifi internet provided. A reasonable breakfast was also included.
