We had a wonderful stay at the Doubletree by Hilton New Orleans. Upon request we were given a room with wonderful view of the river. It was a little small but nevertheless cozy. The staff went our of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcom. A few examples, our maid greeted me with a "Good Morning Baby"; the bartender recommended "Frenchman […] Camp" where the local sgo and we had an awesome experience the last night, requested scizzors and they went out of their way to find me some. We had an amazing experience in NOLA-everyone needs to visit this amazing city once in their lifetime and while your here, stay at the Doubletree Hilton-great price, great location, great staff, great hotel! Overall fairly nice quality, and an excellent location. Cons: * No free internet * No free breakfast * Bathrooms are small - it's difficult to get around the door and into the shower. I come in town for business every quarter for a week and I've been sampling everything in the area. If they are at the same cost, I'd still pick Country Inn or the […] La Quinta for the amenities and equivalent room quality, trading off the extra couple of blocks to Canal. I read a lot of complaints about the parking taking a while to fetch your car. Although I went car-less and didn't get to experience it, I'd also recommend self parking at the Wyndym/Canal Place across the street Mehr

The hotel is located right on Canal...a hop, skip, and jump from the French Quarter and Riverwalk. Our room was a little small but very clean and overall very nice. We had received such a great rate and did not mind. The staff was phenomenal; when checking in I asked if we could have a room with a view and clerk was more than happy to accomodate us; […] I walked in while our room was being cleaned a received a very warm welcome; when asked if they had scizzors I could borrow, the staff went out of their way to look for some. We had drinks and appetizers at their WOW cafe, it was wonderful, the bartender recommended we go where locals go-Frenchman Street. We did, and our expereince there happened to be the cherry on cake. The Doubletree made our stay in NOLA that much more enjoyable. Thank you DT! Mehr

The hotel was in good condition, the service was friendly and the location was very convenient for visiting the NOLA French Quarter.

Requested a baby crib prior to our stay. After check in and several assurances that crib is on the way, we have been informed that there isn't one available!!! Thank god we had portable playpen for our son to sleep in, but I think this was extremely wrong! Bar in the lobby and food was good but breakfast way to expensive!!! 18 dollars for breakfast […] buffet is way too much! Other then these two things , we loved the location, room was kinda little but clean! Would probably find better place for the same money next time. Mehr

The bathroom was too small.

If you're looking for a resonably priced hotel close to everything this i the place! It was clean, beds were very comfortable, and Most of the stff very helpful and friendly. If not for the rude and unhelpfu front desk clerk we encountered at first check-in I wouldve rated this property higher. Good thing another front desk clerk showed up and found […] the reservation the first clerk insisted wasnt there! I report her to her superiors and they vigorusly appologized. Even sent me a bottle of champagne! This property Really wants satisfied guests. Mehr

Staff at the DoubleTree hotel met and exceeded my needs during a recent crowded stay in New Orleans. Despite everything going on with Final Four activities, the staff was very attentive and responsive to my needs. I would like to make specific mention of Keith in housekeeping and he was able to provide an extra rollaway bed in very short order.

The staff was very friendly and informative. Location was right across the street from the casino and well within walking distance of the restaurants and nightlife of the French Quarter. It was kind of tricky driving to their lobby dropoff and we had no idea where they took our vehicle to be parked.

THE ROOMS WHERE SMALLER THAN NORMAL, AND I REQUESTED A KING SIZE BED AND GOT A QUEEN, WHICH WAS NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL, BUT I THINK THEY COULD HAVE NOTIFIED ME. THERE EXCUSE WAS THEY WERE COMPLETLY BOOKED FOR THE NIGHT.

Overall very good -rooms, Cleanliness, staff. My only objection would be the noise transmission from hotel hallway into the room. Otherwise great hotel

Smallest room I have stayed in lately! Like a large closet, bathroom was smaller than most hotel closets!

The hotel was pretty good overall. The room was clean and staff was friendly. My room was not equipped with a refrigerator and I came home with leftovers from a restaurant. After asking if the front desk could hold my food for me they instead sent up a refrigerator instead! Pretty cool. for the price, this is a very basic hotel, weird bathrooms, and dated. the restaurant was the worst service I've ever seen in my life!

Overall the hotel was pretty good great location. A bit pricey fro such a small room. I probably would stay again for location.

Love Mardi Gras and the Doubletree NO is the perfect spot. The only problem was that we booked through Hotels.com and had to prepay for the rooms. We booked a room with a King size bed but upon check-in were told the hotel was sold out and the only availability was a Queen. Because it was Mardi Gras there were no other rooms in the city so we had to […] take what was offered. We were very dissappointed. Mehr

No communication for guests about altered services during Mardi Gras, i.e. limited room service, limited menu at cafe, less than adequate staffing. Cafe food was deplorable!

I will not be returning to this hotel. My entire stay was disappointing from check-in to check-out. I understand that Mardi Gras is hectic, but the experience was unacceptable. We had to wait for someone to call us and tell us that our room was available for check-in; there was mold on the window sill; we received a letter under the door saying that […] we should be out of the hotel by 8am because the street used for valet parking would be blocked off the entire day and there would be no way for us to get our car after 9am; we waited for 45 minutes to get our car from valet parking (as everyone came and went); and most of the staff was less than pleasant. The service was really nice and the room was very spacious. The only complaint I have is how noisy my next door neighbors were. They had a party and a stereo system was bought in by the guest. The hotel staff was obviously not in control of this, so I imagine there was nothing they could do about it.

Was a very enjoyable experience; the hotel was within walking distance of all the attractions of the French Quarter.

The Hotel was very nice, rooms were big but it's location was a gooood walk ,about 8 blocks from french quarter and about 10 blocks from the square. It's also directly across the street from the casino.

We came on the first weekend of Mardi Gras. The sink was clogged and the ceiling above the shower looks like it's in pretty poor condition. Not a big deal, but when it was time to leave it took 2.5 HOURS for them to find the car. We understand that the parking/valet company is contracted by the hotel, but they still have responsibility over who they […] do business with. And when we complained about the wait, they responded with "you shouldn't have stayed during Mardi Gras", even though it "only" took everyone else an hour to get their cars back from parking. The hotel manager was rude and unhelpful in dealing with the situation, hence this poor review. Mehr

Grossly overcharged for parking, more than one hundred dollars for 2 nights. Some electrical outlets failted to work. Room just appeared old. Grout in bathroom stained. Overall, hotel just seemed old and in need of repair.

I enjoyed my stay at the Double Tree the location was close to all the main sights. I can't wait to go back again.

We stayed in New Orleans 1 night before boarding our cruise. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. For us it was very convenient. We were able to tour some of the French Quarter and then check out and walk to the port.

We went on an anniversary get away with two other couples. We reserved three rooms with king sized beds. Two of us got what we requested; the other couple had to settle on two double beds. We went out for supper and then down to Bourbon Street. One of the couples decided to call it a night early and to their surprise when they walked back into their […] room, they found that someone had entered their room and gone through my friend's purse and stole her husband's iPhone. When they told the front desk about the incident, all they wanted to do was comp their valet. That's not all!!! The noise!!! Every time someone in the hall opened their door, it sounded like someone was trying to open our door. When the shower was turned on in another room, it sounded like someone was tearing down the wall. I will never stay at the Doubletree by Hilton again!!! Mehr

The walls seemed thin. We could hear everything in the next room. Maybe they were just loud. The toilet wasnt clean. They must not have lifted the seat to clean under it. Other than that the rooms were very average. Valet took 45 minutes to get the car when we left.

This hotel is conveniently located to the French quarters and the casino

My son and I were headed out for a Christmas cruise and we stayed at the Doubletree for a day in NOLA before heading south. The hotel is located between the French Quarter and the Port of New Orleans, so we were able to do our sightseeing and then walk to the Port (a bit of a haul, but we did it) from the hotel after checking out. This was an ok place to stay. If you are just looking for a clean place to stay and have a little to spend this is a good place. Probably won't stay here again, but had a good stay. I could have stayed at a cheaper hotel a few blocks away and enjoyed the stay as much.

This hotel is excellent as far as the location. It is across the street from Harrah's and just a short walk to the French Quarter and right by the Cruise termilnals. Service of the personnel was very friendly and accomodating.

Stayed there for 4 nights, our room was only cleaned twice even though we asked for it to be cleaned daily. The staff was rude.

Location of hotel is great. Just across the street from the casino, shopping, close to trolley and good restaurants. Warm cookies when checking in was a nice gesture. Only complaint was the water in the shower could have been hotter. And the restaurant/bar closed too early. Overall though, a very convenient, clean, friendly hotel.

Perfect place to stay if you're going to Harrah's Casino, which is right across the street. Great value. Easy walk to the French Quarter too.

Great Hotel, right next to Harrah's Casino and definitely in walking distance to the Superdome and the French Quarters.
