The hotel was amazing and the staff was just great! You are near many location to eat and just hang out. Your within walking distance to the water and other historical sites. We will be staying here again!

Bathroom way too small

Thought the room was kind of small and was missing the tv remote. The bed was comfy but sagged in the center, which means it felt like I was sleeping uphill all night. Bar was very nice and had a great selection of bourbon; except for the one I wanted. Loved the location so close to dining and entertainment choices. Would stay again but not during Thunder […] weekend when premium prices kicked in. Mehr

This hotel is a gem! It was perfectly located next to 4th Street Live and was great for the NCAA tourney going on in Louisville. Our team did not stay here but we were quickly glad that we did! The staff was amazing! Helping with all accommodations to make our 4 night stay as comfortable as possible. With the bar staff we found more of the same making […] us feel very welcome serving up some louisville hospitality to our small group visiting from Chicago. Note: If your not a bourbon drinker but live by "when in rome" you have to get a horses neck, you'll get a good one here!! Mehr

Great hotel in a great location. Rooms/hotel were nice and clean. My only minor complaint is that the walls are paper thin so you can hear every conversation in the hallway. However, I would stay there again if given the chance. The Seelbach is close to a lot of great venues, food, and bars.

Went to see concert at The Palace, only a block away. Close to many nice restaurants and bars. OK access to interstates. Horribly overpriced as rooms were on par with other 3-4 star hotels. We basically paid for a good-looking lobby, and a polite gentleman to tell us the breakfast buffet would cost us 16 bucks. I don't know when hotels thought charging […] higher nightly rate would also mean they could charge higher for other services too - including 6 dollar bottled spring water in the room, 16 dollar nightly parking, and an automatic .75 cent charge unless you told them you did not want the USA Today that would be dropped off at your door. That being said, I was only disappointed in how much everything cost. I have stayed at hotels in NYC for similar quality and price. Mehr

We stayed on nye to party at 4th street live! Location was amazing!!! Decor of hotel was beautiful, loved everything about it!!

This hotel is gorgeous! When you walk in you don't even notice the reception desk because you are too busy looking at the beautiful ceiling and grand staircase and antique furniture. Also, you hear a pianist. It is quite lovely. My only complaint is that the rooms are small. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff, beautiful lobby, wonderful rooms, Starbucks next door and in the center of town! What more could you want??

The Seelbach is a lovely old hotel, with wonderful staff. The location was great for our purposes. Our only "complaint", is that while we felt the bed was comfortable... the next day, both of our backs were hurting. Maybe some new mattresses are in order?

This is a great hotel. We chose a room with a queen size bed. The room is about the size you typically find in Europe. The bathroom has a full size bathtub to relax in. The TVs are new and don't use Lodgenet. Take some time and admire the reception area, then make your way to the bar. If you're not a drinker, go to the bar anyway. It's beautiful. Also […] take some time and sneak downstairs to look at the Rathskeller. The Seelbach is right next to the Louisville entertainment district, and there is plenty of dining around. You're about a 10 minute walk to the river. There is a bagel shop in the Hyatt down the street if you don't feel like a heavy brunch in the morning. Mehr

the only noticeable improvement that could have been offered is the maid service could be offered earlier in the day. Rooms on the whole were not restored until 3pm or beyond each day.

A lovely step back in time. The lobby is very old world and the doors to the front connote the grandeur of a time gone by. The room was small but efficient. The door even had an old wooden drop box attached for hot water bottle drop off - I speculate. Very clean. would definitely recommend. Also, nice Starbucks in the building for morning coffee.

We enjoyed the character and comfort of the hotel and rooms. Staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect for our visit to Louisville.

The hotel was great! In response to all of the reviews that were talking about how small the rooms are: Choose a room with 2 beds...LOTS OF ROOM! We had a great time and will stay there again!!!

The location of the hotel is great as you are right on 4th street live and downtown where there are various activities however for a Hilton hotel the rooms are way below standard. I would compare the actual rooms with a 2.5 star hotel and not your typical Hilton. The hotel has paper thin walls. We could hear casual conversation and loud drunks in the hallway until about 3:30 AM. The room is in need of a restoration. Our non-smoking room had clearly been smoked in recently. The location is great, but the hotel needs serious remodelling.

Hotel is very nice, very historic and right in the heart of Louisville. Bathroom in the room was small but the room was clean and tastefully decorated with the most comfortable bed I've ever found in a hotel. Good restaurant right in the hotel. This hotel was built in 1905 and has had millions spent on it to keep the elegance and charm of that era and to add the updated comforts that we are accustomed to. If you have a love for old world design such as marble and mahagonny, this is the hotel for you! It is simply beautiful!!!

Very close to 4th Street Live, very clean, very small bathrooms

Excellent location in downtown Louisville. On the corner of Fourth Street Live. The Oakroom is an amazing restaurant. Rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

The room we stayed in was kind of small, but very nice! The beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever stayed in! Usually, when staying away from home, I wake up at the crack of dawn, but here I found myself sleeping well past my regular time of getting up. Will definitely try to stay here again next time I am overnight in Louisville.

The hotel staff were very nice. The room was small & dark & dingy with a poorly functioning drain in the bathroom sink, although the bed was very comfortable. We were double charged for parking, which reception claimed was an "error" when we challenged it. This meant that they would have charged us an astronomical $42 per day, rather than the already […] steep $21 per day. However there was a good bar with live jazz, & when I dropped my wallet in the bar, it found its way back to reception, which I was very grateful for. Mehr

The room we stayed in (Queen) was TINY!!! I would campare it to a cabin on a cruise ship. Other than that hotel was very nice, staff was friendly and location was great.

Staff very rude and unfriendly in the hotel bar area...happy hour is not happy hour evidently....cocktails are overpriced for what you receive....will not return.

Wow! Awesome hotel - had a great stay for Thunder over Louiville. COnvieniently located downtown, and just off of 4th street live for restaraunts, clubs, and weekend fun.

The Seelbach is one of the most pleasant and comfortable hotels I've stayed in in quite some time. As a business traveler, service and convenience are usually my priorities, which this hotel has indeed. However, for leisure travel my expectations include comfort, staff friendliness and "the kid" test, which is whether my children feel welcome and at […] home. Loved having a Starbucks in the hotel. We went to the Improv and it right across the street, walking distance to 4th Street Live. Bathroom is extremely tiny, but other than that loved the hotel and our stay there!!

This hotel is in the best location if you plan on seeing a concert at the Palace or going to 4th Street. The noise from the hallways can be loud, but overall the location is worth the stay.

From arrival to departure I had a terrific experience. The valet's were friendly had had some great advice for downtown eating and entertainment. The check-in staff was friendly and helpful as well. I loved the room and the bed was comfortable. I typically don't sleep well in Hotels, this was an exception.

Best rate for this hotel I have ever seen. Beautful historic hotel with tons of character. Great location. Food from room service was really good and prices were what is to be expected from hotel of this class. Bed was comfortable and decor was lovely. Great flat screen TV. Room was small but overall my stay was great.
