Das Hotel machte einen gepflegten und sauberen Eindruck. Etwas verwunderlich ist, dass sämtliche Lampen und die Klimaanlage rund um die Uhr liefen (wenn die Gäste nicht im Hotel sind, muss kein Licht in der Toilette bzw. im Zimmer brennen). Ein gewisser Schwachpunkt war die Sauberkeit der Tische beim Frühstück, hier wäre es sicher angenehmer, wenn die Tische mal mit einem feuchten Lappen abgewischt werden würden! Das Hotel bot zwei Badetücher sowie alle notwendigen Hygieneartikel (bis auf Zahnputzzeug) an. Auch waren die Zimmer mit einer Minibar und einem Safe ausgestattet. Sehr angenehm war das free - wlan. Das Hotel liegt an der Sixth Ave, wo etliche Busse in die Stadt fahren, so dass man unkompliziert vom Hotel wegkommt.

Sehr schickes Design Hotel mitten in Little India gelegen, das seinen Preis durchaus wert ist. Das junge, freundliche Personal, scheint passend zum "hippen" Anspruch des Hotels ausgesucht. WIFI sowie Minibar sind inklusive. Zusätzlich gibt es jeden Abend Cocktails z.T. auf Kosten des Hauses. Die Zimmer sind zwar recht klein, jedoch durch gute Platzverwendung optimal genutzt. Allerdings können die quasi nicht vorhandenen Abstellflächen bei Doppelbelegung (zwei Personen) nach einigen Tagen sehr nervig sein. Das Frühstück im kontinentale Stil verzichtet fast vollständig auf eine asiatische Note, eigentlich schade. Das Hotel liegt optimal zwischen den MRT Stationen Bugis und Little India, die fussläufig in 5-10 Minuten erreicht werden.

Der Service imHotel hat mich überzeugt, die Reception war sehr freundlich und kompetent besetzt. Die Zimmer waren geräumig und das Frühstücksbuffet gut. Die Orchard Road kann mit dem öffentlichen Bus in wenigen Minuten erreicht werden und der Gratis-Shuttle fährt bis in die Nähe des Marina Bay.
Lage
Swissotel Merchant Court liegt in Singapur, Singapore River, in der Nähe der folgenden Sehenswürdigkeiten: Clarke Quay, Bootskai und Raffles City. Zu den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe gehören: Raffles Platz und Thian Hock Keng Tempel.

Die beiden kosmopolitischen Ausgehviertel Boat Quay und Clarke Quay liegen im Finanzdistrikt am Ufer des Singapore River. Die Uferpromenaden werden von hell erleuchteten Einkaufspassagen mit Restaurants, Bars und Nachtclubs gesäumt. In Clarke Quay können Nachtschwärmer bis in die frühen Morgenstunden feiern. Besucher, die es lieber etwas ruhiger angehen möchten, können eine Bootsfahrt auf dem Fluss unternehmen.

"Schöner Kurzaufenthalt"
Sauberes Hotel, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Praktisch ist die U-Bahn-Station direkt im Shopping-Center nebenan. Genial die Lage direkt am Clarke Quay mit den vielen Bars und Restaurants. Wir waren überrascht wie viel abends los ist. Dennoch war es im Hotel sehr ruhig. Saubere Poolanlage. Sehr komfortable Zimmer. Das Frühstück haben wir spontan dazugebucht. "Super Lage."
Ein tolles, freundliches, elegantes Hotel. Nachtleben (Restaurants, Cafés, Discos,etc.) gleich vor der Tür. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt sind zu Fuss schnell erreicht. Die Mitarbeiter des Hotels sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und ständig bemüht sich um einen zu kümmern.

Swissotel Merchant is very conveniently located right on Clarke Quay and MRT is a short walk away.Marina Bay Sands & Raffles Place are within walking distance along the river.Very nice hotel with pool,gym,cafe and giftshop and friendly staff.Only improvement would be free wifi with standard rooms.

The hotel is next to Clark Quay, a happening place all week, all night. But INTERNET is not free, which it should be in 2012. To most travellers it is as natural as electricity and lights. And the hotel has no fun stuff to offer; no games, not pool table or table tennis or games. Typically business clientel here...

"Good hotel in top location"
The hotel was clean & comfortable. It is in a fantastic location right on Clarke Quay & an easy 10min walk to Chinatown. It is also an easy walk to Raffels or the MRT station is right outside the hotel. After arriving in Singapore off a flight we were checked into the room at 8.30am! This was fantastic. Overall no complaints at all.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The hotel was very nice. It was a pity that wi-fi was rather expensive. One could walk out the front door into the interesting and varied Clarke Quay area. Taxis were frequent and inexpensive.

Excellent location for staying near Clarke quay, with MRT station only meters away. Hotel room was excellent, being large and very clean. Breakfast is expensive but is not necessary with many cheap options nearby. Wifi is also expensive. Will stay again

Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 day stay in this lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help with any problems or information needed. We had booked Swissotel for our Honeymoon. The service was really good and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located next to the MRT Clarke Quay station. We were given a room with balcony facing the river. The view was beautiful. A lightly sore point is that the rooms have started ageing slightly but that visible only if […] you have a very close look. Otherwise the decor is really nice. First of all hotel is well located. MTR station next door to access all Singapore. China town within walking distance (10min) and restaurants & night life (Clarke Quay) basicly when stepping out of the hotel doors. Night life there night disturb some but we didn't find it disturbing evin thought our room was facing bridge to Clarke Quay. Our room was […] nice and clean with small balcany. We stayed for 4 nights. It is a fairly ok hotel, but the rooms need refurbishing, especially the bathrooms. The pool area is nice, and the breakfast buffet is quite good. Service is friendly.

The Reception staff was not very courteous, when they found that I had a pre-paid booking through hotels.com They were not ready to provide me better view rooms on a higher floor, although they were not full. No FREE WIFI, which is surprising in this Cyber world and when Singapore Airport offers FREE WIFI. Not a very friendly and welcoming place.

We stayed at the hotel in Dec 2011. Excellent location right next to the MRT and Singapore river (Clark Quay). Many restaurants along the banks of the Singapore river. It doesn't feel as if you are staying in a city. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and can highly recommend this hotel.
"Too expensive for too little comforts"
The only thing good about this hotel is location! The rest is a mediocre hotel which boasts the Swiss hospitality to no evidence. As start, the AC in our room was not functioning well, and the repair took over an hour in the middle of the night! They did offer to change the room, but my mother was asleep and to move our stuff in the middle of the night […] would be a hustle. The SPA does not employe enough people. We were staying for 3 days and no single occassion any therapist was available. We ordered the kimono which did not come to our room until I complaint several times. Then, the kimono purchase was not included in our hotel bill. We were nice enough to remind them. One of the waitress was rude enough not to let us use the connecting door to reach Clark Quay, thanks God there were other nice waitresses who showed us the shortest way to get out. The location of hotel is good. Within 3mins walk to the nearest station and in front of Clarke Quay. The room is clean and the bathroom is comfort. The only annoying product is the room card. Quite often is doesn't work. You need to try and try patiently. Overall it is still a great hotel with a reasonable price. Recommended.
