Das Horizon am Rande von Palm Springs ist eine Ruheoase. Durch die Fenster der zeitlos gestalteten Rezeption sieht man die schicke und schlichte Anlage, die aus mehreren kleinen Gebäuden besteht, die sich um einen kleinen aber schönen Pool anordnen. Viele hohe Palmen, Kakteen, sehr gepflegter Rasen, schöne Beete. Unser Bungalow 3A hatte ein großes […] "Wohn-Schlafzimmer" mit Sitzecke und Kamin. Außerdem ein sehr schönes, schlichtes Bad mit Innen- und Außendusche. Alles im Stil der 50er Jahre ohne kitschig zu wirken. Auf unserer kleinen Terrasse konnten wir morgens frühstücken - Bagel, Müsli, Joghurt, Kaffee, Kakao. Einfach, typisch amerikanisch - aber ok. Zum Mittag- oder Abendessen sind Restaurants in Palm Springs direkt schnell zu erreichen. Wir haben uns im Horizon sehr sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannend und man fühlt sich unter anderem auch durch die leise Musik am Pool in eine andere Zeit zurückversetzt... Klare Empfehlung für Ruhesuchende. Wir werden irgendwann nochmal hinfahren. Mehr

Palm Springs ist zwar nicht mehr dass, was es in den 50'er Jahren war aber das Horizon hotel ist ein Juwel. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr hilfreich und nett, Alles sehr sauber (ein wenig Sand gehört dazu, man ist ja schliesslich in der Wüste). Wir können es nur weiterempflehlen.

Das Hotel hat strenge Regeln was das Benehmen angeht. Dies kam uns sehr entgegen. Mögen wir es ruhig und sauber. Ein Oase der Stille (Nebensaison). Sehr freundliches Personal. Hilfsbereit. Frühstückszeit kann gewünscht werden. Wird sogar aufs Zimmer oder die Terrasse gebracht. Keine Kinder (Zugang ab 21). Keine Haustiere. Sehr gepflegte Anlage. Wir […] werden wieder hingehen. Kleiner Minuspunkt war das King-Bett. Etwas zu klein für zwei Personen (ca. 1,5 m breit). Andere Zimmer oder Betten stehen zur Auswahl. Darauf beim buchen achten. Reisezeit beobachten! Im Winter ist Hauptsaison! Wir waren im September dort. BTW: Schöne und saubere Poolanlage. Sehr zu empfehlen! Mehr

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at the Horizon Hotel. We stayed a couple of nights during the week. Quiet gated grounds and beautiful rooms with patios. The history and architecture is fantastic; better than in the pictures.

This small, tranquill hotel surpassed our expectations. Located just a little way our of the downtown bustle, with its own secure parking. The airy bedrooms face onto the pool area, but each one is private to its neighbour, and has its own patio. The building itself is a perfect example of mid century modern architecture, and was once frequented by […] many of the main film stars, Marilyn and Frank Sinatra etc. We were sorry to leave. Mehr

Loved having breakfast on the patio every morning. The breakfast itself wasn't anything special, but having it in Paradise was great. If you like mid-century modern architecture, Palm Trees and beautiful surroundings, this is the place for you. We loved it.

this is a lovely little boutique hotel. our room was very spacious and we had our own little patio, where we had breakfast every morning. definitely recommend.

We had a great time. All rooms have their own patio and the grounds are excellent. I appreciate the jacuzzi is open all night. Wish there were coffee makers in the room, but enjoyed the refrigerator. The outdoor-ish shower is a treat! Will be back.

love this hotel I have stayed several times before. I like the fact no kids, very clean quiet and private plus free breakfast. Great hotel

I love all things mid century modern and very much appreciate architecture from the 50's & 60's. The staff at this hotel also appreciates their city's historic buildings and their hotel/property which was built in 1952 (designed by William Cody). The staff can direct you to other iconic hotels and houses that you may want to view while you are here […] (which with their help you can do yourself instead of having to hire a tour guide). The rooms are spacious, nice patios, cool bathrooms, flat screen tv and big gas fireplace. The pool/bar area is very retro (pool is not huge) and there is a fire pit. The layout also includes large lawn areas. We were there during a slow season so the pool/bar area was never overcrowded, it was rather quiet and one night we had the pool to ourselves. The breakfast included is simple and they deliver it to the room which is nice (it's not a full big breakfast with lots of choices, but much better than the average continental breakfast). The bed/pillows/linens were very nice and comfortable. Room has a bar/frigde it in it and a seating area. It looks like multiple rooms can be joined to make a bigger place if you want. Also had a private outside shower which was cool. And secure parking (they provide you with a card to the gate). Hotel reception is not open 24 hours but they provide you with a number to call if you need. Free Internet is provided and we used that daily - it was always up and running. Very nice hotel and very friendly staff (they even let me borrow a book from their lobby overnight). We had no problems or inconveniences here, but don't expect everything to be brand new, this is a historic place (example, the sliding glass door to your patio is big, heavy and does not slide as well as newly made doors). If you don't already love MCM architecture, this place will make you fall in love with it. And the location is excellent, couple minutes drive to the main part of town, easy to get in/out of. What a fantastic place and so different from normal type hotels. All rooms on are on the ground floor and opening out onto the pool area. Breakfast is served either in your room, on your own terrace or by the pool at a time to suit you. Pleasent helpful staff make this a hotel to enjoy and return to.

beautiful place, very stylish, perfect for couples without kids

We'd been looking for a new place to stay on our summer visits to Palm Springs and we have definitely found it. The Horizon Hotel is superb in every way. The rooms are impeccably clean, the grounds are beautiful and the service was great. It's just a short drive to downtown. It's a wonderful mid-century modern gem built by a former Hollywood director […] as a friends/family retreat. It was restored in 2006 from the original plans and old photos with a few modern updates to complete the experience. No children are allowed so the setting and pool remain very peaceful. We were very disappointed upon our arrival. The room was much smaller than we had anticipated. The "kithenette" consisted of a small refrigerator, no coffee maker and no microwave. Also the bathroom was a shower only - no bathtub. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - it was not worth the money!

This hotel was amazing & the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, as no Under-21's are allowed. Having breakfast delivered to our room for us to enjoy on our private patio was wonderful, as was being able to use the pool & spa at any time of day or night! I only wished we could have stayed longer instead of just one night!!

To stay at this hotel was really a treat. The architecture is amazing with the rooms grouped around the swimming pool and everyone has a private patio. Bathrooms have glass walls and you feel like you are taking an outdoor shower (no worries, no-one can look in, though). The bed is super comfy. The hosts made us feel very welcome. Simple, easy, relaxing, perfect.

This hotel is a compound of single-story angular rooms built in pods and set around a huge spacious courtyard with large pool. Stunningly minimalist, beautifully renovated William Cody piece of history. Fabulous bathrooms!!! Private, bright, breezy, and all with direct outdoor access to patios. Extremely kind front desk staff, and other staff rarely […] seen however clean towels appear magically on lounge chairs, breakfast appears magically on patio table, and rooms are spotless. Mehr

We had the entire place for the weekend for a family wedding. What a wonderful place for that. It was all family and friends and everything was first class. Loved the rooms, the pool, the view. I think my room had one of the best views, it overlooked the pool and the mountains. I definitely will stay here again.

A perfect hotel for a serene and relaxing stay in the desert. At anytime you expect to see one or more of the rat pack or any other Hollywood legend walk out of their rooms, Just a perfect place to stay for a tranquil stay,

The motel was very groovy, but felt a bit empty. The bathroom needs a towel rack, but the clean design was great. Very comfortable bed.

As I get older, I'm appreciating more of the smaller things in life. The glamourous hotel with over-the- top ammenities (that you had to pay for) just doesnt do it for my anymore. Boutique hotels are now the way to go. Personalized service, a story, a soul character is everytihng the Horizon offered.Upon arrival, we got iced Lemon water to cool down. […] No a huge deal but very considerate. The thing that made me very excted was the L'Occitane shower products. This brand of soaps and shampoos is very indulgent. This hotel rocks. Mehr

we spent a fantastic week in a king room with open bathroom. very quiet athmosphere and gorgeous breakfast close to the pool. a palm springs paradise.

Tijdens onze rondreis door West- Amerika werden we aangenaam verrast door dit hotel. Eigenlijk is het geen hotel maar een app./kamer complex (19 kamers) verspeidt over een grote tuin en alle app/kamer zijn aan de achterzijde gelegen aan een zwembad. Alle app./kamers hebben een eigen terras. Het is gewoon een plaatje deze accomodatie. Echt genieten. […] Ontbijt kun je zelf samenstellen m.b.v. een lijstje dat je kunt invullen. Zelfs de plek waar je wilt ontbijten kun je aangeven, kamer-patio-zwembad. Van alle accomodaties die wij gedurende onze reis bezocht hebben was deze wel de mooiste en beste. Als je ooit in de buurt van Palm Springs wilt overnachten dan doe het hier ( ook prijstechnisch gewoon oke) Mehr

Cet hotel est absolument charmant l accueil y est parfait,beaucoup d attention ,de gentillesse et de discretion de la part du personnel(de la directrice aux femmes de chambres) Le calme,la quietude de l endroit et absolument parfait. Le petit dejeuner en chambre fait partie de tout ces petits details qui font que votre sejours est paradisiaque.
