horrible place to stay and bring your family, room was dirty, the all hotel smell horrible place did not looked safe at all, in fact we had a terrible experience because our motorcycle was vandalized in the middle of the night and they did a lot of damages to it. I will never recommend that place to nobody!!!

It’s worth to pay the extra money for a better place; who cares if its $100 more just don’t book this place. Pictures online are way more convincing then actually seeing the place in person. The hotel well I should say Inn is secluded back in the woods, just past these two strips of random rooms where like people lived, did not trust leaving my car there when I would go to shore points with friends, since it does stand out like a sore thumb being an Orange […] mustang, but the building is very run down paint chopping off tue building every where , and the room itself was very plain and boring , bathroom reminds me off like a mini prison with its huge steel door....so people its your own call on staying there, but for what I paid a night it not worth it. This is not a hotel for travelers and I'm appalled I just received an email saying this is a "great hotel in egg harbor". These are weekly rental units for people who cannot afford to live anywhere else, and we saw plenty of evidence of this. I am definitely not a picky person when it comes to hotels, at all but would just like to warn others. The pictures […] you see here on this website are from years ago, as you can see the sign in the pic says Howard Johnson. The grounds look nothing like these pics. When we pulled up I had to check my itenery several times to make sure this is the hotel I booked. The grounds look like hotel from the zombie video game my step son plays. Not only do the rooms stink of mildew but the hallways and lobby too. The fence around the non working pool is tied together with trash bags, signs say no pets but we saw people letting their cats out, saw rooms with strollers, shopping carts and grills outside, room windows so dirty you can't see outside! We found mold on the corner of the ceiling in our room, wall coverings peeling off, there was a blood stain on our sheets, could go on and on. I fyou want to see real pics of this place, contact me! The building is not grey, its flourescent orange and purple! The orooms and bathrooms are very spacious so I can imagine maybe in its hayday it was a very nice motel, and the shuttle to Atlantic City was great (although the bus driver was mad crazy). You get what you pay for. There was shopping carts from homeless people outside. I actually saw a homeless person washing his hair outside with a shopping cart and gallon job of water in the parking lot! VERY DIRTY, trash everywhere outside. you know that commercial where the family is afraid to sit on the bed in their hotel...that is this place. it could have been worse but there is definitely better. there was no sign to hang on the door (i.e. do not disturb/please service) but no need to worry because the housekeeping didnt really bother anyway lol they did give us new towels everyday […] but that is about it. two lamps had bulbs that did not work. one lamp had a shade that was torn to shreds. there was a pool but it was surrounded by a fence that was falling apart...oh and it was lacking water. overal it was a little scary so i would only recommend it to a bunch of college guys trying to save money. i really dont think it was worth what we paid Mehr

The first room they gave us was old and dirty. bed cover and sheets old and dilapitated. the bed was old and flat as well and pillows. there was hair in bed. the room also had vomit residue on the floor and a foul stench. we asked to switch rooms and the clerk actually asked me if I was the one that threw up , when we were only in the room for a few […] min. they let us switch rooms. If you like dilaptidated, run-down, unsavory type lo-tels then this is the place to stay!!! I'm so glad I went before nightfall to see my surroundings. My first reaction was literally, "HELL NO!!!". During the night of July 8, 2011 when my wife and I went to check in at around 820pm EST., we cannot get out our car because of water that flooded the entire front area of the hotel. I called hotels.com and somebody from the Philippines answered my call. I explained to her the situation but cannot resolvd the situation because she said she cannot get […] hold of anybody in the US, not even the hotel itself. When I braved the water (of course got wet), I talked to the front desk of the hotel and mentioned to him about incoming calls from (hotels.com-philippines) but he stated to me that nobody, no incoming calls were received by him. While not the cleanest or most technologically up to date, the Courtesy Inn was a cool place for me and my girlfriend to kind of get away from it all. When I arrived it was very late and check in went very smoothly. When I walked out the room and headed towards the stairs, a man was BBQing near the outside stairs. On the day of check out I had a confirmation from hotels.com that said check out is at 12:00 p.m. and housekeeping knocked on the door at 10:30 am and told me I had to be out at 11:00 a.m. […] I told her I had a paper that said check out is at 12 pm and she said no I had to leave at 11 am. Again, I mentioned the paper and 12 pm and she said, "No. You are supposed to check out at 11 am. I told her I would get the paper and show her that hotels.com said check out is at 12:00 p.m. She said, "Okay, okay 12 pm." When I left I looked at the pool and the gate had a plastic bag tied on it to keep it closed and the pool had green, dirty water in it. Mehr

Should have known better when the entire lobby stank of cigarettes. Hotel is WAY off highway, have no idea how anyone even finds them; we got lost trying to get there and called them and they got us there over the phone. Got in late, just wanted to get to sleep; bathtub was filthy, air-conditioner rattled LOUDLY enough we had to turn it off, vent fan […] in bathroom did not work, iron board there but NO iron, bed comforter had cigarette holes burned in it, so THAT went off the bed quick! The good thing: mattress was good, nice and firm, sheets were clean, hot water, shower, lights worked. Guess that is what really matters? Would NOT stay here again. Was a guick last minute internet purchase, needed to find a place for one night, only to sleep, room should have been much lower in cost instead of what was paid, at least half lower for what it is. Convenient location. 15 min to Atlantic City. 25-35 min to beaches. Hotel consists of a main 2 story building and several smaller single story buildings. A little run down, in need of new roofs, windows, doors and paint. Grass needed to be mowed, shrubs trimmed. I stayed in the main building - 1st floor. Check in area / lobby had a strong, unpleasant […] odor. After check in I went to my room – the room was musty smelling and needed to be aired. There was a sliding patio door that opened out onto the front yard so I opened it and turned the A/C unit on full blast, both of which helped a little. The room itself was fairly clean and everything worked as it should - just needed to vacuum along the edges of the room. The sliding door I mentioned only had the security bar – the lock had been broken and removed. Door to the hallway was missing the chain and no “do not disturb” sign. I spoke with gentleman at front desk - was told that there was no one available right then to replace the chain, but that maintenance would take care of it next day. He advised me to use the deadbolt –saying that no one would be able to get into the room with the deadbolt engaged and mentioned that there was always someone at the front desk if I needed anything. The next day there was a “do not disturb” sign on my door but the missing chain was never replaced prior to my checking out. Breakfast consisted of pound cake, corn muffins, cereal, coffee and milk. I won"t put everything that was wrong with my stay and this hotel because they are already mentioned in the other reviews. what I will add is...... 1) They had one iron for the entire hotel 2) The breakfast consisted of cornflakes, coffee, and milk (not that I would have eaten anything there anyway) 3) There were stains on the wall paper and curtains […] that appeared to be blood 4) When driving into the hotel i felt like I was driving through a Third World Country and I would have felt safer staying at the Baits Motel from the Phyco Movies 5) There was what was left of an old falling down fence surrounding a pool that was empty 6) none of the phones worked (if you needed to call the front desk, you needed to use your cell phone) 7) I am not even going to explain what the matresses looked like under the sheets I just want you to know.... I am not a complainer and this is the first negative review I have ever writen. Normaly if i am dissatisfied with my stay I just don't respond. This experiance was so bad that i could not say nothing. I could keep going but I think I made my point nor do I want to keep re-living this experiance. What I will add is....... I would never use or reconmend hotels.com to a friend or my worst enemy. Hotels.com should be ashamed they list the Courtesy Inn. Mehr
