Renaissance Austin Hotel - Austin

Was the most memorable hotel experience of my life. The atrium is huge and beautiful. The restaurant was very refined.

the sink in the bathroom had a crack but everything else was fine. staff was extremely courteous and helpful. i would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed at this hotel on many occassions and it is lovely without being pretentious or stuffy. It's located in a beautiful wooded area of the northwest hills of Austin, surrounded by a well designed neighborhood of shops and restaurants, many within an easy walking distance from the hotel entrance. Major highways are not visible, but very easily […] accessible. Hotel rooms and public areas are immaculately clean and well maintained. Staff is efficient and friendly. Atmosphere is luxurious, but relaxing. Rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend it. Mehr

The Renaissance hotel is located in north Austin and has easy access to highways that take you to all the famous places and lakes. It is also located in the middle of great shopping and eating places. I highly recommend this hotel and my only regret was not being able to stay longer.

The hotel is in a great neighborhood and the lobby and atrium are beautiful, but our room was small, the bathroom had dated pink tub tiles and wasn't up to my standards for cleanliness. The pool is pretty, but the seating around it was stained and the water temperature was uncomfortably cold. You can tell that they are renovating certain areas. We've stayed here many times; this time, although the hotel was nearly empty over the holiday weekend, we ended up in a formerly smoking room that hadn't quite aired out. Hotel is a little dated, but fitness room is superb. Nothing better in the neighborhood. Friendly staff.

This is a great hotel in a great area of Austin. Make sure you ask for extras towels at check in as they never showed up after 2 requests. Late night menu Pizza was burned on the bottom so try something else instead. Other than that everyone was great and room was awesome.

We stayed here as an intermediate stop on our way from the wedding in Waco to our honeymoon on the Texas coast. Our family had stayed here before so we knew it was a quality place. Very satisfied with our stay and the comfort of the room - as well as the restaurants available within walking distance!

The service and the rooms were excellent, but I didn't like the atrium style of the hotel.

Very enjoyable weekend get-away!

This was my 6th annual visit to Austin for ACL and this was definitely the best hotel I've stayed at. Great location for the festival and close to Z Tejas too, I'll definitely be back.

We stayed here for the ACL Festival and it was so convenient, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was perfect. Would definitely stay here again.

No reflection on the hotel, but wireless and valet costs were 2nd highest i have paid anywhere in the US.

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel because I came to visit my sister and her husband who had stayed here in May. It was very beautiful and I was very impressed. Upon our arrival this labor day weekend, we had to wait 2 hrs for our room. Housekeeping was behind... understandable. Got our room, and the room door opened 'OUTWARD' into the hall! […] It was the only one that did! At a 4 star hotel!! It made me wonder if we were given this room because we got it cheap on hotels.com (buy cheap, get cheap??). Asked for extra towels, again housekeeping was behind... well, okay. Asked about ordering snacks at the bar, but were told they were short staffed.. call room service. Ordered room service, waited 2 hrs but never got our food... we were told it was a mistake on their part and we would get a call in the morning and possibly get a free breakfast. Never got the call... Needless to say, our incidentals were removed from our bill as an apology but it was not the kind of experience I wanted at a 4 star hotel... I'm sure this is not something that happens often because as it turns out, they were accommodating the evacuees from the fires in the areas and were short on staff. It is a beautiful hotel and the location is great. Maybe my next visit will be better. Mehr

We came here on a whim, because we love this hotel and had a weekend babysitting my 4 year old grandson. We had a blast! The hotel is gorgeous, clean, close to Cheesecake Factory (we promise to check out Zoe's Kitchen next time), BBQ place, terrific shopping (well, window shopping anyway... couldn't afford Chico's and Pottery Barn...But there's a barnes […] and Noble!) Hotel staff is the nicest, the Piano player in the foyer was excellent. The only bad thing was that the concierge room is closed on Saturday, so although they upgraded us - we missed that... Glass elevator was a wonder for the 4 year old... loved that and the pool and the aquarium. The gift shop is stocked with nice and inexpensive things (got me a necklace, earrings and ring - $60). Love it, love it, love it - will be back! Mehr

Perfect location. So many shops and places to eat within walking distance. Hotel was great and room was clean and comfortable. We will stay at this hotel every time we are in Austin.

We enjoyed our stay at this great hotel. The staff are all friendly and the rooms are all well apointed. The pool and fitness center was better than I expected. The location is close to everything in Northwest Austin. Many great restuarants and good shopping within a mile.

For a Hotel of this type, the price was right! No dissapointments!

My husband and I chose this hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary because we had stayed at other Rennaisance Hotels. However we were very dissapointed with our room. The faucet in our bathroom was clogged and the air conditioner was not working properly. Next time I visit Austin I would rather stay somewhere else.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. The location was Great, the clean and spacious rooms were a comforting, and the peace and quiet time we received from the relaxing stay there was much appreciated. We checked in and went to our room. The room had a strong mildew type of odor in it. We had to request to be moved. We moved to another room and proceeded to takes showers. The tub drain lever was broken. Had to wait for repairs before showering. I have to say that the front desk as well as the maintenance people were very responsive during this time. Otherwise, […] the hotel was nice in the lobby/atrium area with shops and a good & elegant lounge. The pools, sauna and workout rooms were nice. The grounds around the hotel are very nicely manicured. It looked like they had a nice meandering jogging trail through the property. There are many nice places to eat and shop nearby. If they could just improve the maintenence of the rooms, it would be worth what they are asking to stay there... Mehr

The hotel was set in the hills and was the perfect location for exploring from. There are plenty of parking spaces available right opposite the hotel under the shade of trees and free. We ate at Eddie V's just down the road from the hotel and had a lovely evening there. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. Our room did not have a view it overlooked […] the interior of the hotel and was not as large as some we have stayed in but all the same we had a comfortable stay and we would definately book this hotel again. I booked a deluxe room at this top rated hotel expecting to enjoy a great weekend with my wife. I was somewhat embarrassed to find that the room was musty smelling and the carpet had foot prints that someone couldn't quite get up. We turned the air on because it was warm in the room upon returning we found that the room was still warm. To their credit […] they did send up maintenance who fixed the problem. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was just ok, (I have stayed in better accommodations at a Holiday Inn), and spent a lot less money. When I plan another weekend getaway you can bet it won’t be at this hotel. Mehr

Good location. Within 15 minutes of everywhere we wanted to go around Austin, but far enough from downtown to avoid downtown traffic. Easy parking. No crowded parking garage to deal with. Indoor and outdoor pool was nice. Will stay there again.

The staff was attentive, the rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of space to stretch out. We had 3 kids under 8 and the place was great for them. Shopping mall and restaurants were within walking distance and the hotel is right off 2 different freeways that will lead you downtown in just minutes. We will stay here again.

Our A/C had controls; but the thermostat seemed to be unaffected by what ever setting we chose. Generally the room was too warm/hot.

The hotel was right where we needed it to be. It was one of the busiest weekends in Austin. Other than wanting to go downtown there wasn't a reason to leave the area, everything was right there or a few minutes away. The Hotel was beautiful.

I have recommended this hotel to seven people since our stay! It was one of the best times we have spent in Austin! very easy to find, covenient check in and check out, super clean rooms, quiet, comfortably furnished, amazing indoor and outoor pools, anything needed was on or very near to property, friendly staff, willing to go out of their way to accommedate. […] will definitely return to this hotel for get aways and for family leisure. Clean, quiet rooms made our state very enjoyable. I don't like that they charge a fee ($12.95/day) for internet connection so I will probably look around before staying there again.

Everything was excellent. The only issue we had was with parking. Seems like half of the parking is reserved for valet parking. Had to park in the street about a block away.
