Die Zimmer sind groß und die im Obergeschoss haben sogar einen Balkon. Die Matratzen sind gut und 5 Jahre alt. Das Hotel befindet sich unterhalb des regionalen Flughafen...... Der Lärm hält sich aber in Grenzen weil der Flughafen nur von kleineren Flugzeugen angeflogen wird. Von 22 Uhr bis 5 Uhr ist dieser geschlossen. Die Hotelanlage ist sehr sauber […] und aufwendig bepflanzt. Das Frühstück ist gut. Es sind zwei Computer vorhanden die von den Gästen kostenlos benutzt werden können. Wärend unseres Aufenhalts waren die aber defekt. Laut Angaben des Personals werden die umgehend gerichtet..?? Mehr

Das Hotel ist für den Preis ok. Es liegt verkehrsgünstig und ist dadurch bedingt etwas lauter.

In der benannten Travelodge hat man ausgiebig Gelegenheit, sich nachts darüber Gedanken zu machen. Obwohl die Übernachtung hier im Vergleich nicht unbedingt günstig ist, findet man einen Standard vor, wie man ihn im Urlaub nicht braucht. Das Zimmer war klein, abgenutzt, nicht gerade sauber und vor allem unglaublich laut, da es direkt auf die Autobahnauffahrt […] hinausging und ausserdem ab und an auch gerne mal ein größeres Flugzeug drüberrauscht. Möglicherweise sind nach hinten gelegene Zimmer leiser, wenn sich die Lodge also nicht vermeiden lässt, unbedingt im Vorfeld ausdrücklich eines hinten reservieren lassen. Mehr

Absolute Katastrophe, Nichtraucher gebucht- Raucherzimmer mit einem Kingsizebett für 5 Personen erhaltem! Hotel liegt direkt unter Anflugschneise...

I liked how convenient it was to the freeway, Cannery Row and the Wharf. We stayed for two nights and at first was worried about the road noise but we didn't here it at all while sleeping. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room. The bathroom was a little small but not an issue.

Breakfast is too basic. They need to add more choices in the menu instead of old traditional menu ( bread and cereals ) .

The sheets were crisp and clean... the ocean breeze was fresh. and in lieu of the romance of a distant train whistle, we found ourselves about 2000 feet from from the Monterey Penninsula Airport...and directly under the flight path of the incoming planes. (it wasn't so bad...3 large planes over 8 hours)

This Travelodge is quite convenient to Carmel Beach without having to pay the high prices. It is alo pet friendly and the staff is very accommodating. The only drawback is no AC for hot days. But that is not a problem if you are at the beach during the day since it cools off at night.

The hotel was great and it was close to everything

Hotel is old, rooms are spacey, noisy to the room next door, continental breakfast, pet fee is per night, lots of parking, they need DVR for camera's, some one backed up into our vehicle and damaged the headlights n fender $$, over all a good place for the $$

The hotel is in need of updating! Disappointed that the pool was not open even though when I booked I thought there was a pool that we could use. Our room had a smell as soon as we walked in like they were trying to cover up something!! The water in the shower was either hot or cold could not regulate. Good thing the breakfast was free as there was […] not much to choose from and the toasters did not toast only warmed up the bread! Will stay elsewhere next time!! Mehr

The hotel is not bad for the price. The location is convenient. The hotel is pretty dated overall. The breakfast was rather disappointing. There is some airport noise, as the hotel is directly in the flight path. The flights seem to start around 6:30 am and conclude around 11:30 pm. This is one of the few hotels in the area that allowed pets.

Very clean, decent location. Worth it based on price.

The personel at the motel was very friendly. OUr room wasn't ready when we got there. The clerk told us when we check in that the room we reserved had a problem, so they wanted to up grade us. Which was fine because we wanted king size bed in the first place.. Didn't care for the cobwebs above the bed. Didn't like that there is no ceiling light, and […] only one lightbulb in the room worked. Didn't care for the furnace making wierd noises all night. I really liked being able to look out my sliding glass doors at the beautiful swimming pool and all the foliage around it. They had some beautiful flowers. Once I figured out the lay of monterey, had no problems getting around. Found very good maps at denny's and a few other places. All in all we had a blast!!! Mehr

Hotel was very clean and looked newly renovated. Staff was very pleasant and helpful! I didn't know what to expect with the price I paid, but I was very happy with the hotel! The manager was very kind, and everyone was very accommodating. The breakfast was great too! Check out the sushi restaurant adjacent! Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was clean but the tolet did backup and the front doors look like prison cell. Also the walls are very thin and we had neighbors that were extremely loud at all hours of the till 5:30 in the morning. Great last minute spot but if planning spend the extra 20 to get a better place.

Had a 1 night stay here, and it was perfectly fine for us both

I HAVE STAYED HERE BEFORE AND AM COMFORTABLE WITH THE HOTEL I DID NOT KNOW THAT THE HOTEL WAS IN LINE WITH THE LANDING STRIP AT THE AIRPORT. THE BREAKFAST IS NOT WORTH THE TIME. I WOULD STAY AGAIN !

Super clean, felt safe inside, enjoyed breakfast at attached Sushi Bar. Everything was well supplied and clean.

The travelodge was dirty. There are stains on the carpet as well as the comforter and this is the "kids room". I will not stay here again

We were very pleased and surprised with this hotel. It is quite pretty, well maintained and the people at the desk are very pleasant. We had our pup with us and were very happy to find such a nice, pet friendly place to stay. We had a room with 2 Queen beds.

this a great hotel its a short drive to everything beds are comfy. There are refridgerators,microwaves, and coffee makers in all rooms. The rooms have a sliding door to either a small patio or balcony. One note room 143 is next to the service room which has what sounds like a pump that makes a loud noise. I have read other reviews that give bad ratings […] because of loud people. You cant rate a hotel based on a few idiots. Call the office tell them whats going on they will take care of it. Mehr

Although this hotel is close to the city center it does not have easy access. It has an interior lobby but no elevators so you have to walk your bags up to the second floor. The beds and pillows could be more comfortable. The hotel staff were nice though. Also it is near an airport.

very bad experience. first nite bathroom sink backed up & had to repack & change room; torn seat cushion, burn holes in bedspread, grafitti on wallpaper, hotel on airplane flight path & very noisy, noisy elect baseboard heater, friendly helpful staff, close to everything and freeway, great o'sushi restaurant next door.

Monterey Bay Travelodge was clean, comfortable and affordable. The staff were very helpfull. Close to Monterey and the airport. My family lives in Monterey and the Monterey Bay Travelodge is our new "home away from home" every time we come to Monterey to visit.

Pretty decent place to stay for the money, pet friendly, and didn't give a bunch of rules. Did have some trouble using my bank card at their location, they weren't very helpful with that. My card "red flagged" because it was a Travelodge. I wanted to write them a check to take care of the pet fee, they would not accept, even though I was on the phone […] with my bank, and they would verify my funds. Not cool! They "red flag" my card, and didn't help me at all! Mehr

Well, the good news is that our room was clean. The bad news is that there was a lot of road noise that was not muffled as the outside wall is all glass, but what bothers us the most is that we were lied to by the front desk clerk. When we arrived (around 11pm) she told us that it was very slow this month and there were not many guests staying at the […] hotel but that next month (February) they were nearly fully booked because of the AT&T Golf Classic. When we went to check out our room the first thing we heard was a large group of motorcyclists driving past the hotel going onto the freeway that sounded like they were in our room. We went down to the front desk to ask if we could have a quieter room. Imagine our surprise when she said that they were nearly fully booked and their were only 4 rooms available which were next to each other located on the front of the hotel facing the street, our room being one of the 4. We chose to stay in our room, however, the constant road noise and closing of the "security" door were very loud keeping us from getting a restful night sleep both nights. We noticed that two of the outer security doors were broken, allowing anyone access to the hallways. Our room was also very cold and took a long time to warm up. We were surprised that their electric wall heaters were not more efficient - top heat was 80 degrees and that was barely warm enough. As it was an older hotel we did not expect any fancy frills, however, we did expect honesty and security doors that were truly security doors. Their maintenance worker(s) need to keep up on the maintenance of the hotel. We will not stay at this hotel again and will not recommend it to any of our friends. Mehr

Good sized rooms. Electrical outlets sparse. Good continental breakfast. Paper everyday. Free wifi. Very reasonable price. Recommend.

It was a decent place to stay. It is well enough away from tourist spots but they were very easy to get to and worth the price. I would recommend it for families looking for a deal. Not sure that I would stay there long term but it was perfectly fine for 2-3 nights.

I've stayed in a lot wrost for a lot more money. Well worth the price for the location.

This hotel is old but worth the price. Very near to most tourist places. Staff was very helpful n friendly. The breakfast was great.

A great hotel to take your dog. Could use more flat grassy areas with easy garbage access for doggie doo. Didn't realize hotel was on the flight path for landing at the airport. However airport didn't seem to operate too early or too late, so noise didn't affect sleeping.

We literally woke up the morning before new years and decided to go to carmel. We wanted to bring our dog and places were extremely limited. I was worried at first but the agent assured us reviews were fine at this hotel. We trusted him and they were. We usually stay in more upscale places but did not want to pay the price since our plan was to hang […] at the beach at carmel all day. It was clean - nicer than some other dog hotels but bring you own pillows, and we did not eat breakfast there...fine for a last minute booking..great for the price! Mehr

We booked this hotel because it was pet friendly and we wanted something close to the golf courses in Monterey. The hotel has the look and feel of the seventies and the doors look more like a prison than hotel. When we arrived the keys didn't work twice and then the room was not ready. The stuff was friendly and helped immediately, but at 5pm the […] room should be ready. In the room it smelled moldy and the carpet was ugly. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, you find better places in Monterey for that price. Mehr

OK, it's dated - so am I. I remember the 60's, and this motel was really well thought out then and still is. Yes, it could use sprucing up, but really? If you changed the tile in the tub for fake marble does that really make your bath better? None of the re-decorating things that someone will do - and then charge much more for- will make it a better […] room. I LOVED having a full glass wall that allowed the morning sun to provide light. I LOVED having an adjoining adjacent room for my two adult young men. Breakfast was adequate - and just fine - I don't need extra calories or special items to ruin my eating habits. It was clean. It was convenient. It provided privacy from my boys, but the ability to share time. It provided breakfast. And the price? A bargain. I hope to return. Thank you! Mehr

Biking distance to downtown. Perfect for family motel on the cheap. Breakfast is okay though the coffee is terrible both in-room and at breakfast.

Great price- not bad at all. Our room was frigid for the first night though and the heater barely worked. The hotel however responded to our requests for extra blankets immediately without any hassle. Overall this was a great hotel.

The ladies at the front desk were very nice. The airplanes flying overhead were loud but we didn't let that bother us.

My husband is handicapped so we requested a ground floor room with grab bars. We also had a small dog. Our dog was accepted, no problem. But somehow the handicapped request didn't make it through the hotels.com reservation system. The Lodge was able to give us a ground floor room (the last one) on the spot but no grab bars in bathroom. Luckily the bathroom […] shower was narrow, so he could brace against the walls. the room was large, the price was reasonable but they charge too much for the pet $20. and then put us in the back of the building where there is absolutley no grass or area for the dog to do it's thing. They only had rooms with 2 queens for pet friendly rooms, the clerk was going to change us to a standard Kind. but when she found out we had a dog […] she stated we had to have the room with 2 queens ...why? One for my dog?? (she sleeps in her bed on the floor) I also did not know the airport was so close and the planes flew RIGHT OVER us up until 11 pm ...luckily they didn't fly at the crack of dawn.
