Gutes Hotel, in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wallstreet , am südlichsten Ende des Broadway. Sehr nette Bedienung. Enges aber sauberes Zimmer mit zwei Kingsize-Betten.

Großes Zimmer, gute Betten. Bei Zimmern nach hinten raus kann man bei offenem Fenster schlafen. Internet fürs Zimmer zu teuer. Im Bad leichter Renovierungsstau. Frühstück im Hotelrestaurant empfehlenswert, sehr nette Bedienung. Infostand für Sightseeing im Hotel sehr gut. Karten tlw. kostenfrei. Mexik. Pub +Chinarestaurant ca. 200 m entfernt. U-Bahn ca. 400m weg.

Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Das Zimmer war sauber, zweckmäßig und der Service freundlich und aufmerksam. In direkter Nähe befinden sich viele Sehenswürdigkeiten (Stock Exchange, 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church) und man erreicht 3 verschiedene Subway-Stationen innerhalb weniger Gehminuten. Außerdem die Fähre nach LongIsland bzw. den Anleger für die Boote zur Freiheitsstatue und Elis Island. Da an der Wallstreet Abends/ Nachts nicht ganz so viel los ist, kann man - für NYC-Verhältnisse - relativ ruhig schlafen, v.a. im Vergleich mit der Gegend rund um den TimesSquare usw. Ein kleines, aber feines, familiengeführtes (so schien es) Hotel, dass wir auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen würden!
"Alte Bausubstanz mit viel Komfort"
Wer die Hotels in New York kennt, weiß, dass es alte Gebäude sind, in der aber immer darauf geachtet wird, dass die Qualität und der Standard gehalten werden. Das Salisbury ist sehr zu empfehlen, Zimmer sauber und geräumig. Einziger Punkt: Das Badezimmer hat keine gute Lüftung, roch etwas muffig, haben Tür aufgelassen und Fenster im Zimmer kann geöffnet […] werden. Nähe Centralpark und 2 Subwaystationen sind gleich fußläufig 5 - 8 Minuten entfernt. Supermarkt ist auf der selben Straße, 5 Minuten entfernt. Mehr

"Toller Aufenthalt in einem Klassiker von Hotel"
Die Lage is ausgezeichnet. Man erreicht in wenigen Minuten den Time Square, Central Park, Broadway, mehrere Subway Stationen etc. Wir hatten eine Suite gebucht die super groß war und mit einer kleinen Küche ausgestattet war. Dies war sehr fein, da vor allem die Lokale in dieser Umgebung sehr teuer sind und wir hier wenigstens ein paar Snacks und Getränke […] im Supermakrt kaufen konnten und im Hotel konsumieren konnten. Außerdem ist die Lage so zentral, dass wir oft unter tags einen Abstecher ins Hotelmachen konnten zwecks umziehen oder ein Lunchzu uns nehmen. Ich glaube aber dass die Standardzimmer eher klein sind und wenig Komfort bieten. Das Personal ist freundlich und zurückhaltend. Ein kleines Manko ist, dass es keine Bar im Hotel gibt, was abends oftmals für einen Schlummertrunk fein gewesen wäre. Preis/Leistung für NY ist ok - würde jederzeit wieder dieses Hotel buchen. Mehr
"Salisbury Hotel mit guter Lage"
Das Salisbury Hotel liegt ideal in der Nähe des Central Park und der 5th Ave. Zum Times Aquare sind es zu Fuss nur 10 min. Wir hatten eine Suite, die für ihre Grösse fast unschlagbar billig war (wohl wegen der Nebensaison). Die Betten waren gut, der Komfort ok. Eine Küche mit Essplatz ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Schlecht ist die Isolierung der Fenster […] (es wird im Winter recht kalt in der Nacht und der Strassenlärm ist zur Strasse hin relativ stark). Das Frühstück kann man sich sparen. Es wird für 9$ relativ wenig geboten. In New York kann man preiswerter und besser essen! Über alles betrachtet eine preiswerte und gut gelegene Unterkunft mit einigen Minuspunkten, die aber akzeptabel bleiben. Mehr

"super Lage"
Das Hotel liegt in einer top Lage, nur wenige Minuten von Broadway entfernt. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und die Betten absolut bequem. Der Höhepunkt war, als uns eine Stretch-Limousine für den Transport zum Flughafen organisiert wurde! (anstelle eines normalen Taxis und zum gleichen Preis). Preis-Leistungsverhältniss ist in diesem Hotel top.

"Zentrale Lage in Manhattan"
Hotel sehr gut gelegen - Manhattan kann zu Fuß erkundet werden. Räume sauber. Frühstück muss auf Papptellern und mit Pappbechern eingenommen werden. Ebenfalls wird um Selbstabräumung des Pappgeschirrs gebeten. Belebte Strassenlage, derzeit wird gegenüber ein neues Haus gebaut, sodass ab 7.00 Uhr starker Baulärm zum allgemeinen Lärm hinzukommt.

War zum 2. Mal innerhalb kürzester Zeit in diesem Hotel. Hat wirklich eine ideale Lage zum Sightseeing. Hotel ist zwar schon sehr alt, dafür sind die Zimmer riesen groß und es gibt riesige Wanschränke zum Verstauen. Zimmer sind super ausgestattet, mit Flachbildfernseher - in den Suiten sogar 2 davon - Kühlschrank, Mikrowellenherd und jeden Tag frischen […] Kaffee oder Tee. Auch das Frühstück, das um 6 $ angeboten wird, ist ganz nett. Zwar sehr amerikanisch - viele Süße Sachen - aber für den Start in den Morgen günstig. Mehr

Die Lage ist unschlagbar!!! Die Zimmer sind groß und geräumig. Sogar mit kleiner Küche dabei! Auch das Frühstück ist gut! Vor allem für diesen Preis!!Würden auf alle Fälle wieder buchen!

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Midtown - nur eine Querstrasse vom Centralpark entfernt und die nächste Metrostation ist in drei Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. In der Umgebung gibt es einige gute Möglichkeiten für ein Frühstück oder ein Lunch. In der gleichen Straße gibt es einen gut sortierten Supermarkt. "Gute Lage"
Das Hotel befindet sich nahe dem Central Park, dem Time Square und einigen Broadway Theatres. Außerdem sind zu Fuß 3 U-Bahnstationen gut zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind alt, aber sehr groß und mit Mikrowelle und Kühlschrank ausgestattet. Unser Zimmer lag nach hinten raus, somit war auch nichts von Straßenlärm zu hören. Wir hatten eine Suite für 10 Tage im 6. Stock zur Straßenseite. Das Zimmer war wirklich sehr groß und war auch sehr sauber. Das Bad war im Verhältnis aber relativ klein. Negativ empfanden wir einzig den Straßenlärm, der Nachts doch recht laut war, da die Fenster nicht besonders schalldämmend sind. Für $6 gibt es auch ein Frühstück(mit Pappgeschirr) […] welches auch zu empfehlen ist. Mehr
"einfaches Hotel, super Lage"
Also besonders hervorzuheben ist die tolle Lage in Midtown Manhattan, das Hotel an sich ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber für einen Städtetrip optimal. Ich war sehr zufrieden und würde sofort wieder dieses Hotel buchen.
Sehr praktischer Standort, entweder zum Times Square, zum Theatre District, oder zum Central Park. Momentan ist auf der anderen Straßenseite eine Baustelle, und es ist sehr laut, das fängt morgens früh schon an.

Hotel liegt in einer exzellenten Lage – 10 Minuten zu Fuß zum Lincoln Center oder Times Square. Die Zimmer sind weitläufig und sauber. Ich würde dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall Freunden und Familie empfehlen!
Ich mag das Hotel wegen seiner praktischen Lage, aber auch wegen der Freundlichkeit des Personals und wegen der kleinen Lobby und dem leichten Zugang zum Fahrstuhl. Nicht wie diese großen Hotelketten! Frühstück (bezahlt man extra) ist so angenehm und hat eine ansprechende Auswahl.

Beim Reinkommen waren wir geschockt, und sie hatten uns automatisch ein Upgrade gegeben, für ein RIESIGES Zimmer, mit einem grossen digitalen Fernseher in beiden Räumen, Schlaf- und Wohnzimmer. "Great Stay and reasonable!"
The hotel is in a perfect location and is very clean. There was even a little kitchen with a sink, microwave & refrigerator. The elevator was quick and the employeeswere all very nice. It's just old and needs a bit of updating but it wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

I was highly impressed with the size of the room that we had for our stay. It was one of the suites and it was as big as my apartment in dublin. The reason we choose a suite was that we were travelling as a party of 3 adults and an infant.. As such we needed room for a cot and a small kitchen facility.. The cot (although resembling something from a […] 3rd world orphanage) was clean and quite sufficient.. Needing a sink to hold water to clean baby bottle was an issue as the plugs were missing or broken in both the kitchen sink and bathroom sink but after a call to reception this was resolved in less that 10 mins, which was great. The bulding itself is quite old and has some worn around the edges looks in some areas but nothing that would put my off staying here again. The location to all the sights in New York was amazing.. you could easily walk everywhere but for those who want to take it easier the subway is just at the top of the street.. I would highly recommend this hotel and location.. Surrounded by bars, restaurants and shopping it makes for a fab stay in New York for those not looking for ultra modern chic.. Mehr

I took the time to read comments from prior guests and Trip Advisor, and I'm glad I did. The rooms facing the back are much quieter. The front desk help are somewhat cold and have NO personality. The location MAKES this hotel. The breakfast available is well worth the price, IF you are hungry. Nothing special about the rooms, but the LOCATION is perfect! "Good Location - Happy Overall"
Bed was ok, but have slept in worse. I have both AT&T and Verizon data plans and on the 16th floor could barely get internet access. This was the worse thing regarding my stay for me (Daily wifi was $10 and I opted to not pay for that service.) Breakfast was good, well priced and convenient ($9 including tax). The only item missing in my opinion was […] something with eggs for the protein. I loved the location as I had most of my meeting in a 10 block radius. The Room's size was quite good for NYC and had a desk which isn't always a guarantee for NYC. The hotel is a little run-down in the halls, but the staff were friendly and check in/out was easy. I didn't use them - but having a fridge and microwave can be great for leftovers and a nice benefit. The AC was a window unit which I liked for the white noise benefit. Mehr

The hotel was in an excellent location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The suite we had was nice and roomy and reasonable value considering the size, but the accommodation and hotel was in need of refurbishment (at least on our floor), verging on being a "bit seedy". The first night it poured with rain and we were kept awake by the clatter of […] the rain striking the metal air-conditioner box sticking out the window. Other nights we had to put up with a hot room or put up with the noise of the air-conditioning. There were no bedbugs. The continental breakfast served its purpose but the plastic cutlery and paper plates and cups added to the "Seediness". All-in-all we enjoyed our stay in the hotel and have no regrets. Mehr

Stayed for 5 nights in two rooms. Perfect location near the park. Hotel is old, somewhat worn down, but NYC-style charming. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Very big rooms, larger than my apartment at home! Two large comfy beds in each room. Two big TVs in each room. Good service at reception desk. firstly my booking was messed up by hotel.com & after paying more & then being reimbursed (long story) they guaranteed a king bed. i arrived to 2 king singles! the room was a suite so large but the bathroom was disgusting! a clump of hair on the wall & shower clogged with hair. staff were only basically helpful, never going out of their way. the breakfast […] was a joke. plastic utensils & paper plates :/ & the lady made me feel uncomfortable as i was on my own! no warmth or welcome! really disappointed in hotel & hotel.com! From the moment we arrived we felt at home in the Salsbury. The cleanliness and comfort of the room and the perfect location of the Hotel. We were so happy. We highly reccomend this hotel. We stayed at the Salisbury for 10 days so were looking for somewhere we could settle and unpack - it definately fitted the bill with spacious, clean rooms and a very friendly environment. The staff were very helpful and approachable with advice, directions and any other issues. The location we found ideal as it was within close vacinity to Central park, […] 5th Avenue, the subway and Times Square was a 10min walk away. "LOVED IT"
This hotel may not be very fancy but it was clean and comfortable and the neighborhood was great. We will stay here whenever coming to NYC. The wireless is not free but it was only about $10 for the whole stay.
Our suite at the Salisbury Hotel turned out to be the perfect choice for us; four girlfriends on a bucket list holiday from Sydney, Australia. Located close to the subway and with a late night convenience store across the road and down a bit (sells wine but you'll need a corkscrew, no screw tops here!) it is within walking distance to heaps of must […] see and do attractions. The bed and living rooms were spacious (very, apparently, by NY standards) and provided enough cupboard space for the four of us to store our luggage away. It was very clean and quiet enough that we could sleep with the windows open (was that because we were so dog-tired from walking everywhere or that there was so much to see and do we were lucky to average four hours' sleep a night?!) but we did have a room at the back of the hotel. The beds were really comfy (doubles, but could easily fit queens in the room) with lovely crisp white linen. The kitchenette and bathroom were a little dated but perfectly functional and clean. We did have an issue a couple of times with housekeeping only providing three towels instead of four, but that was only a minor issue. Would definitely recommend the suite for friends to share and/or families as the overall value for money was outstanding compared to other 'four share' hotels we considered. Mehr

The hotel is in a good loaction just 2 blocks from Central Park and close to 5th Ave. It is very worn and and in need of a renovation - but still has it's charm. Staff is doing what they have to do - not more.. We recommend to have breakfast elsewhere. Several alternatives in the next block.

The location was fantastic. About a block off Central Park. Just half a block to the subway. The rooms were huge and very clean. Charged $9 for breakfast which we never bought. There's a Dali Market two doors down where you can get breakfast for a couple of dollars. Would definitely recommend staying here especially with kids. Past a certain hour the concierge does not seem to care if you need assistance or have questions. Whether its 1pm or 1 am, a newspaper is not more important than the person that has spent a pretty penny to stay in the hotel. Both were sitting down and annoyed i even spoke to them. I have stayed there twice now and it's definitely my last. Both times […] the cleaning lady walked in my room without knocking or anything so I'm pretty sure they do it everytime...that I don't understand. Beds are terribly hard both times I stayed. Mehr
"Salisbury Hotel, New York. Value for money in NY"
Very clean and elegant hotel. The place has lots of character, being quite an old building, and this really adds to the charm. Room was large with a walk in wardrobe - the check-in staff apologised because, as we were very early arriving, they only had a room without kitchenette. This didn't matter as there are so many cafes and restaurants around, […] along with a 24 hour deli selling everthing you could possibly need just 3 doors down the street, we just went out for any food. The hotel is across from Carnegie hall and just one block from 5th Avenue and Central Park. Couldn't be better placed. Great value for money with no apparent compromises - GO! Mehr
