Although the price is Low, and the location is convenient, this Hotel is Super Old and needs to be remodeled! There were stains on the Carpet and Ants appeared in my bathroom about 3 days into my stay. The staff was helpful and they did change the Linens upon request. If you are not a Super picky person...then this place is bearable. I probably won't […] stay there again though. Mehr

Hotel was a bit run down, room was not stocked with enough towels for the number of guests in our room, had to call EVERY day asking for more towels and wash cloths. It was inexpensive and very close to Sea World, the Zoo, the beach, and even the Wild Animal Park was a short distance. THE ROOM WAS GOOD, BED WAS COMFY. HOWEVER, IT COULD HAVE USED MORE TABLE LIGHTING. MICROWAVE AND REFRIGERATOR WAS NOT INCLUDED ( BIG DISSAPIONTMENT)SHOWER NEEDED A WASHCLOTH BAR. THERE WAS A LOT OF OUTSIDE NOISE, SO POOR INSULATION WAS A FACTOR. WE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH VERY LATE NIGHT NOISY HOTEL GUESTS NEXT TO US , WHOM INTERRUPTED OUR SLEEP SEVERAL […] NIGHTS IN A ROW! Great rates and good restaurants on-site. The rooms need to be upgraded, but the pool & spa area is nice. Convenient location for any destination in San Diego.

We stayed there 4 nights. The price was great, also in a great spot. However, you can hear the cars on the freeway so it wasn't exactly a quite place. Seemed a little dirty but nothing major. We were happy with the hotel for the price. If I was to go back to San Diego I'd maybe upgrade a little but for a tight budget, it worked fine.

Cheap price, but you get what you paid for. The rooms need to be upgraded, badly. Our room was not ready when we checked in. The beds were unfinished, luckily I found a cleaning lady and she helped me quickly. The beds were not as comfortable as the other Travelodges I've stayed in before...not to mention this itchy feeling I kept getting throughout […] the night. Luckily I found no bedbugs. The cooler/heater was barely hanging on wall. The ice machine wasn't working so we had to walk across the hotel and use the one on the other side of the hotel. Some of the wall outlets didn't work or didn't have a faceplate....kinda dangerous if you had kids staying with you. If you are going to stay there or have to, I would only recommend for the night. VERY familiar with this property as I Managed a property across the frwy for for six years, one of my favorite Restaurant/Bars for many years. Was very surprised at the "dated" condition of this property and cannot believe that they get approval from Travelodge. I have Managed six Travelodges and I would have NOT got away with the condition my room […] was in (Manitenance). BUT, it suited my needs at the time. If it not for the experience I had on my last day in the Restaurant I would surly return next month on my visit. Very dissapointed with the service I recieved in the Restaurant (Breakfast) not the lunch/dinner Restaurant, I always enjoy that experience. "Hearsay", who determines THAT? the guest or the employee? This Hotel is a little on the old side but the price is good and the easy access to everything San Diego is perfect!

Its a great place to stay. Nothing fancy but very clean and usually a decent price.

Although the price is right and it is in a convenient location, this place is scary. As I walked into my room, I noticed an undercover cop talking outside (next to my room) telling someone that he was going to have to arrest the person. If that wasn't scary enough, I noticed smears of blood on the bathroom door (not hugely noticeable but still there). I […] would not recommend this to any female staying by herself. Mehr

This hotel would have been great if it wasn't for the noise that cleaning staff make pushing their carts. It is not their fault, but the problem is the ground on the hallways. It is not a smooth surface and therefore the carts make too much noise. If you are planing on sleeping after 8AM, this is not a good hotel for you.

Older hotel with friendly staff. Remodeling had just started. Clean pool and hot tub. Pool is heated for the cool nights. Good deal for the money.

OK, but much better deals available. The rooms were schetchy and blankets were very thin. Look at Mission Valley resort or Kings Hotel instead.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was great and close to everything. The pool and hot tub were heated and a nice amenity to have access to. The walls were a little thin and the cleaners made a lot of noise with their carts in the morning so it was hard to sleep in. Also the were only a couple spare electrical plugs and they were all […] in poor condition and coming loose from the walls. Even with this small maintenance issues the hotel was a great stay for the price and I will definitely book this hotel again on my next visit to San Diego. Mehr

the room was huge. The surrounding area seems kind of sketchy, but there are a lot of hotels and it's right off the freeway, close to the airport. the pool and hot tub are both HUGE. overall, it was much better than i'd expected.

After flashing the toilet numerous times, the waste is still floating in the toilet. Gross!

Very close to San Diego Old Town, right by the freeway only 10 mins from La Jolla or downtown. Good service, good amenities, room could be better maintained (electrical outlets falling apart, damp smell) but more than adequate.

Ok for a cheap place to stay. issues with some of the electricity. light in the bathroom didnt work, some of the plugs in the room didnt work. to many flyers on the floor when you walk into the room. room had a dingey feel to it. with some maitenance the hotel would be a great place to stay.

I was very surprised about the hotel after reading all the bad stuff. It was very clean and nice. I would stay there again. Great place. I would recommend this place. It is not four star but it is clean and not run down. No bugs and very comfortable beds.

This is excellent value for a trip to San Diego for a few nights. It is on the hotels circle with easy freeway access but a ways from downtown.There are bus pickups available for some tours eg The Zoo.

Average hotel inside. Had a refrigerator. No microwave in room, but hotel had a room that had a microwave, washer & dryer, table and chairs and a computer. We could access our boarding pass and print it for FREE. So that's a plus!!! Nice, helpful staff! Beautiful large heated pool, hot tub and 2 cabanas. Lots of chairs and tables with umbrellas, too. […] I would definitely recommend it and will be staying there again next year! Mehr

good location for visiting sea world. older and little outdated, but OK.

The hotel was great for our purposes. We used it just to sleep and get cleaned up in while we did sight seeing. It was in a convenient location... Close to the airport, the harbor, etc. Would stay again for the price...

Average hotel, but clean. A bit far from city center as well.

Mission Valley Travelodge is great. During the 12 hour blackout in San Diego, the staff went door to door to make sure everyone had a flashlight and bottled water. They put laterns in the lobby and were checking people in by hand. Everyone was very helpful in a stressful situation.

Checked in during the major blackout. Front desk was nice enought to give out flash lights. Bed was uncomfortable. But the price was good so I'd take a hard bed. Carpets made feet extremely black. Oh well still would stay here again cuz the price is right.

Unfortunately our stay was during the blackout that occurred throughout San Diego County, Arizona and Mexico so It was not good, however we have stayed there before and had power been on it would have been a good stay!

My teenage son and I stayed here for exploration of San Diego and for a convention at the large convention center downtown. We did not bring our car nor did we rent one. This turned out to be a complication. there is public transportation stops at the hotel next door but it does not run late and not at all on Sundays and Holiday. Our trip included 2 […] Sundays and a Holiday. This ment we had to walk about 1.5 miles to a transit center at Fashion Valley Mall. If we had had a car, it would have been a very convenient location for easy access on and off the freeway. The location is excellent for its closeness to the airport, to Sea World and to Mission/Pacific beaches. It gets a little more complicated to get to Balboa Park and downtown. I understand we saved money without a car when it came to downtown parking. When the buses were running, we were still 1 bus ride and 3 trollys away from the downtown convention center. This took time and energy out of our day. The room was comfortable and clean. Where we were located, directly behind the office, freeway traffic was not bothersome at all. We did have a problem with the digital clock in our room, it kept gaining about 20 minutes a day until we finally unpluged it so we would keep missing the bus. We also had a refridgerator and a microwave in our room. I understand they only have 2 rooms with both so you need to reserve it well in advance like we did. I highly recommend the coffee shop attached to the office, however they close at 4pm. This means the only place to eat on site is a rather pricey steak house. There are nice coffee shop style restraunts on either side of the Travelodge. We ate at one but not the other. The laundry facility is new and nice, at a reasoable price. there is a soap vending machine but not a change machine. I saved quarters for our laundry but I suppose the office would have had quarters available too. The office and housekeeping staff were friendly.
