It may not be the top of the line, but the location was great and so was the price. Neighborhood was safe, and Mexican restaurant on site was awesome. Front desk personnel were extremely helpful and nice. Hotel half a block away was twice as much so this was a great deal.

Awesome 47" Plasma but no HiDef furniture and bed were not very comfortable room was close to the convention center and lots of shopping and restaurants the Galeana restaraunt was excellent for the price staff was helpful and check in was quick limited parking

Horrible wifi service and no free continental breakfast. Parking was tight but hey it's still free. Elevator was a bit creepy. Staff was friendly and rooms were decent. Not my first choice but it was semi convenient and in the better part of long beach.

Not too bad for the price. A little edgy on the neighborhood, but close to the convention center. Plenty of good restaurants close by.

I was a woman traveling alone and attending a conference at the convention center. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The front desk staff was friendly, my room was incredibly clean (albeit old) and I felt like the neighborhood was safe. My bed was comfortable, there was a flat screen TV in the room, I was within a block of a good grocery store […] and two blocks from nice restaurants. The hotel, however, is old and if that is going to bother you there are many other choices in the area. I thought this was an excellent choice for the money and I would stay here again. Mehr

You can hear everything from voices to running water from the other rooms. The street is very loud. It's basically clean and the front desk people were nice. But this is a smoking hotel and it's totally gross if you get a smoking room. Or are near one. I wouldn't stay here again. Location is good but there are others in the area too. And we learned […] that next door the roadway inn is cheaper for about the same quality. a little more quite and its' 100% non smoking. Mehr

very easy to nice restaurants for eating. This was a convinienant place for us to stay the night to board the cruise line the next day.

hotel was conveniently located near the convention center. outside area was clean and streets were clean also. large grocery store in the next city block and was very close and convenient.

Hallways, were very dark and scary. Manager never returns calls. I would not recommend stay at all...HouseKeepers were very friendly, I enjoyed talking to them.

Much nicer than the Travel Lodges that we have out here on the east coast. For the money we spent, this was an excellent choice. We had two rooms and both were very clean and well apportioned. The front desk staff were very helpfull and attentive. The convention center is about a half mile walk and took us approx. 15 minutes each way. There are not […] that many restaurants by the hotel, but plenty of choices right next to the convention center. A very nice grocery store right next door however. I would definitely stay here again. Not at convention center. hallways are darkand ugly, almost scary.

The staff at the Long Beach Travel Lodge were great. It wasn't their fault that we ended up with a smoking room. If they weren't totally booked, they would have given us another room.

Hotels.com got me this room for such a great price I honestly had low expectations for it. I was very surprized to see the sheer size of the room, the abundance of amenities like the mini fridge, HD flat panel TV and granite counter. I can't help feeling naughty, like I got away with something--paying so little but getting so much.

Convenient easy walk to Convention Center. Many other more expensive hotels nearby to choose from, but if you're not planning on lounging around the pool or hanging out in the hotel restaurant or spa, the Travelodge was just fine. Parking is cramped but free - most other hotels charged up to $20/day. There's a large Vons grocery store/deli/bakery with […] an inside Starbucks just one block away. Mehr

Great Location, Comfortable, Free Parking and Internet. No laundry facility even though they state there is.

Hotel staff very pleasant.

I had a problem checking in because clerk could not access my details on his computor. Eventualy this was sorted out and I was able to go to the room. This was clean, the furnishings looked a little outdated but it had a 46" HDTV in the room. Being in a downtown location there was a certain amount of street noise,but I was able to walk to the convention […] center in about 6 mins. and there were resturaunts across the street. Mehr

Older travelodge, but clean room and bedcoverings. (I liked that the mattress and box spring were sealed) Nice granite counters and huge refrigerator. Bathroom is TINY, but we asked for additional pillows late in the evening the desk clerk gave us 2 extra big fluffy ones. Not so pretty on the outside, but a bargain none the less. Great service especially this person is deaf, they can be able to assist with whatever I need. They has been patient with me which is a plus.

The cleaning service was very friendly. Big TV, very nice, iron, hair dryer, the second and third floors are the best because they have little balconies with 2 chairs. The rooms facing the side street are better for sitting on the balcony. Pool tiny on main street, not appealing pool. They did have a restaurant, which we did not use. The rooms are quite clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to long beach, always has parking available. No breakfast though. In short its cheap but decent.

It was a great getaway for me and my boyfriend. The Hotel was clean and comfortable. The area was in the middle of everything. The price was good.

weekends are loud. i did not get any sleep due to the "hotel" parties going on through the night. you can hear full on conversations, people walking past hallways, and people talking on the patios. the noise is my only complaint.

Travelodges used to me nice up to date but not overly expensive hotels. This one was quite old and in disrepair. The bathroom was really tiny and the floor (we were on the second floor) was not level. There were pits in the floor and I was afraid we were going to fall through.

This is the first time I've been at the Travel Lodge in several years. I was pleased with the experience. The room was clean, everything worked, and by comparison to my friends' accommadations further down on hotel row, I paid 1/4 of what they paid. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the Convention Center. The only negatives I can think about are […] the age of the place, its basic design (Parking lot surrounded by a U of buildings, and an initial exterior impression of a little run down. The staff was helpful, the room itself was fine, and I would go back there if I were in Long Beach. The neighborhood is on the edge of hotel row. There are apartment buildings and some shabby buildings near by. There is a coffee shop/diner around the corner. Mehr

I chose this hotel because of the location and close to the beach. The elevator needs to be changed, but otherwise i was satisfied with my stay plus parking is free.

The location makes this a recommended hotel. My room was noisy as there were doors on both sides, but one side also had a small deck, which was nice, despite street noise. Clost to everything and cheap. Internet was very slow and sporadic signal. Staff were courteous and helpful. Few amenities and somewhat dingy furnishings.

All we needed was a place to sleep for one night before taking the ferry to Catalina Island the next morning so this was just fine for that. Great location to the ferry. But this Hotel is very worn down. It looks as though the rooms are cleaned but they need to be renovated. The bedding and furniture looks old and the carpets are "icky". the room was clean and the location was okay but the hallways were pretty dirty. The Internet service did not work until i called the front desk and had them reboot the router. it worked great after that. For the price it is a good deal

The hotel was close to all of the sights that we wanted to visit. The pool was not much but we were very close to the beach. When our toilet got backed-up, and I called the front desk, I was told to "come to the front desk and get a plunger" that was not cool. I expected someone from maintinance to come and fix it. Then when my voice became surprised […] at what I was told, the person on ther other end of the phone told me that when the maid cleaned the room they would fix the problem. That was okay because we were leaving the room to go see the sights. By the time we returned to the room the problem was fix and the room was cleaned beautifully. So we would recommend to others to stay at this hotel. We saved money and it was worth it. Mehr

Good central location. Close to beach. Nothing fancy.

last min. change of plans it works in a pinch.. otherwise there are plenty of other much nicer places to stay in the great town of Long Beach.

It's OK hotel, not too clean or dirty. If something went broken they fixed it fast. Big grocery store in next building, beautiful beach in another direction. My main problem was the wireless Internet because I need to work where ever I go. Just want to warn that you can't even read your email with it because of connection problems. I called to support, […] but they just rebooted it, but that didn't do any good whatsoever. I bough Internet cable for last couple days and with that the Internet was kind of OK, still really slow and that fixed only problem for one computer. If you don't have too high expectations and you get good price I could recommend it. Cafe Berlin was nice place to work, not too far away ;) Mehr

Very very simple hotel that will get you a rate you may need. If going to the convention center, allow time for a 10 minute walk, but still easy. Friendly and no frills. But can work for budget minded travelers.

I was very impressed, everything was clean and new. The surrounding neighborhood is safe, not sure where these other reviewers are from.

We just wanted some place to stay near downtown Long Beach and all other hotels were nearly twice the price (if not more) than this little gem. We were only going down to ride the beach paths during the day and go out to dinner at night. We just needed a place to rest our bikes, clean up before dinner, and relax. This place was perfect for the price. […] There was a small fridge and even a balcony in our room that you were actually able to open the door and sit outside. The only two complaints I have were that the elevator needed to be serviced (the hotel is only three levels and there are stairs, but it was easier to use the elevator with the bikes), and the corridors ECHO very badly at all hours of the night. Just a normal conversation at normal levels sound like it's right in your room. There were people laughing and talking loudly in the hall after hours and it sounded like it was coming over a PA system. It is only due to the structure of the hallway and the material that was used. I'm not sure that anything can be done about it. There is a small mexican-style grill on the property that smelled delicious but our stay was so short that we did not get a chance to try it. Hopefully next time! Mehr
