The Dylan - Millbrae

Ich habe dieses Hotel am Anfang und Ende meiner San Francisco Ferien gebucht, vor allem wegen der Nähe zum Flughafen. Das Hotel ist aber trotz der Flughafennähe sehr ruhig (kein störender Fluglärm) und das Frühstück ist reichhaltig. Der kostenlose Flughafen Shuttle kann auf sehr früh am Morgen bestellt werden. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut eingerichtet […] mit Flachbild TV, Bügeleisen, Teekocher, Wecker usw. alles was man braucht. Das Wifi ist anständig schnell. Zur Umgebung: Direkt neben dem Restaurant ist ein Sushi Restaurant, habe allerdings nicht da gegessen, da ich relativ spät aus San Francisco zurück kam. Die Anbindung nach San Francisco oder Palo Alto/Mountain View/San Jose ist sehr gut, da in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels (ca. 3-5 min Fussmarsch) die Caltrain Station Millbrae ist. Mit dem Zug ist man für knapp $5 in ca. 20 min in San Francisco. Das einzige was im Hotel fehlt (wenn man wirklich was finden will) wäre eine Waage, damit man das Gepäck vor der Abreise wägen könnte. elevator hand rail fell off......elevator is noisy and feels unstable, further investigation showed that it was past due for inspection....bathroom doorway was EXTREMELY narrow.......immediate neighborhood was a slum, makes me glad I did not drive my own vehicle! ..............staff seemed bothered by us checking in, instead of happily greeting us.............cooler/fan […] was very noisy, but it was either have it on, or live in a humid feeling room.......I guess the place serves a purpose. If ur just looking for a place to store ur stuff, and sleep, your golden........ I just wouldnt sleep very well driving anything but a rental car. Im contimplating reporting them for the elevator inspection notice. Mehr

Clean, confortable rooms. Good breakfast. Hard to walk around neigbourhood.

First, the people were great - from front desk to the maids. The room was very clean. However, the location - about 300 yards from the major rail line up and down the Peninsula - means that there will be trains tooting. Not too bad, but it happens. The rooms are not very sound-proof, and during my stay, there were some check-ins and people showering […] at midnight to 1 AM. They weren't loud, but one was aware that one is in a hotel room. Compared to the rates at nearby hotels, I easily saved a hundred bucks, and it was a good value to me. Mehr

Close to the airport, big room and cleaned environment. location is not great to explore and almost motel style with the elevator and layout. but friendly desk and free shuttle to airport. free breakfast and wifi was great. overall good for the price and convienience if staying near the airport.

Convenient with free airport shuttle and real close t BART and Caltrain station. But the service is not as nice as mentioned in previous review. It is good overall. I would say a good choice when all other downtown hotels are so expensive.

Very comfy beds, 5-10 mins from airport and free airport shuttle is wonderful.

Great location (right down the street from our favorite pancake house!), and friendly, helpful staff. Everything I needed was either already provided or brought to me as soon as I asked for it. Found a great deal on hotels.com and never regretted it!

This was our first visit to this hotel and we were extremely surprised. It was very convenient to SFO. Along with the usual supplies i.e. shampoo etc. it had an iron and board, in room safe, hair dryer, coffee making facility, was very clean and free wifi. The quality of the included breakfast was very high. It included orange juice, cereals, croissants, […] muffins, several types of bread for toasting, fresh fruit, boiled eggs and tea or coffee. I will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to any friends traveling to California. For price and convenience a very high 5 Mehr

We were not impressed. Turned out to be a Travel Lodge. The walls were thin, and the grout lines in the bathroom were black the further down toward the bottom of the shower you got. There was no bath tub. The TV card listed HBO (not sure of others), but those channels were not available. The elevator was broken, but thankfully there were only 3 floors. […] The soda machine was also broken, not sure if there was more than one or not. And the staff, though were ok, were not super friendly. Asking any questions I felt more of a nuisance than anything else. The bed was comfortable, but the heat/AC unit was loud and woke us up every time it kicked on. We finally just put it on fan only, but naturally got pretty chilly at night, and just had to get up to turn the heat on in the morning before we got up. It was not worth the money I paid. I normally pick a pretty good hotel via comments and ratings from Hotels.com, but I was in too big a hurry this time, and paid the price for it. Mehr

That's it! The Dylan gave us congenial comfort - at a good price.

We stayed in total 4 nights at the Dylan. In the beginning and end of our 9 day holiday in CA. This was the best hotel we stayed at of all the places. The location is perfect. Good shuttle arrangements to the airport, friendly staff, decent breakfast, shops and restaurants close by. The Bart just a fem hundred meter down the road. Free spacious parking. […] The rooms are ok size. Lovely soft beds. We would definitely use this place again. Mehr

nice location with nice restaurants and a grocery store nearby (I was a woman traveling alone and felt comfortable coming and going from the hotel), nice people working there - very helpful, nice breakfast, nice airport shuttle - prompt with a friendly & courteous driver, nice room, and fresh cookies in the lobby when I arrived. GREAT place to stay. […] Will do it next time!!! Mehr

The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and noise at a minimum considering it is so close to BART and El Camino. Much better than other hotels in the same area that had even higher rates. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Room was clean, bed was good. Neighborhood so so. I called the hotel twice for the shuttle from the airport but they forgot to organize it. By chance the shuttle stopped at the airport. The driver told me the hotel didn't call him.

This is a very nice three-story downtown motel with some underground parking. I call it a "motel" as it does not have interior hallways, and all rooms have outside-facing doors and open into the parking lot. Located next to a Wendy's restaurant, but within a short drive of many other restaurants. Formerly a Travel Lodge property. Some of the signs in […] and around the hotel and on nearby streets still list is as a Travel Lodge location. Some covered parking is available if you drive around to the back of the motel, but it's kind of hidden from view. Very nicely upgraded rooms with large flat screen t.v.s and recently remodeled bathroom and shower. My t.v. had a DVD player too, but I wasn't able to make it work. The furniture in my room was badly scratched, but the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast room was tiny with only four tables. The continental breakfast was actually poorly stocked when I arrived at 7:30 AM. Only a few sweet rolls and some fruit. Otherwise, a very nice place, and I would stay here again. Mehr

I wanted a hotel close to the San Francisco airport that was not expensive. The hotel provided exactly what I wanted, including 24 hour van transfer to and from the airport. Rooms are basic but comfortable.

Great hotel and location freindly staff. I would have never known about this hote if it weren't for Hotels.com

Nice and clean rooms. Fancy Bedding,lots of pillows. Walking distance to Japanese Cuisine,which was very good a resonably priced. We had the desk clerk to call us a taxi and it was there in 10mins. Big spread for breakfast the next morning. great place would go again.

Our family stayed here one night. Very quiet even though we were so close to airport.

I was looking for a comfortable room, next to the airport, with 24-hour desk staff, shuttle the next morning, and a decent breakfast. The Dylan was just what I needed. Thanks!

Nice, rather modest hotel quite close to SF airport.in quiet neighborhood. Very handy rail connections to downtown San Francisco. Rooms a little basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast included and free shuttle to airport. However, nothing much of interest immediately nearby. All things considered, relativly good value for money..

The hotel was very high on customer service. The rooms were clean and the free breakfast was good for a free breakfast. It is located near to everything. The only drawback was the shuttle service from the airport. I had to wait well over an hour, and considering that they are 10 minutes from the airport, that is a disconnection. I would stay here a […] gain. Mehr

We had one night in SF, and this location was very convenient to the airport and to the BART line. Make sure you call the hotel as soon as you land if you only have carry-on luggage as it can take 10-20 min for the free shuttle to come. Ask for an upper level room.

Locked the room, confiscated all the electronics because was accused of smoking in room. Took credit card info and tried to charge additional charges, was not able to sleep in room second day even after I paid for it. They are running a scam.

It was very NOISY. You can actually hear the words from conversations next door. When neighbors close doors, it will wake you. When you close bath door, the glass wall in closet rattles and am sure your neighbors will hear. Bring ear plugs because this hotel has zero sound insulation from traffic and airport. My wife and I keep falling into the middle […] of the bed, because it is SUNK-IN in the middle. If you want good nights rest, go elsewhere. Not enough parking, so you will have to PARK IN THE STREET, up to a block away. The Staff were very condescending, specially the European guy. Mehr

Great location and clean rooms. Checkin staff was horrible. David, the front desk staff was rude, ignored me when i asked him some questions and acted like i was annoying him.

The interior of our room was charmingly furnished. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful...included homemade bread pudding! Only downside was the noisy foot traffic outside our room that night (won't stay on the ground floor next time).

A very adequete hotel. would rate at 3.5. Location is excellant since it is located the bart and the caltrain station. Fair to good restaurants located nearby, convenient to stores nearby. The SFO and Oakland airport is nearby and accessibleThis hotel is a sleeper

Convenient location (proximity to BART station) and decent front desk service, but...price not commensurate with condition and quality. Could not get the rest we needed, as the noise from room above us was very loud! Every footstep, toilet flush, etc. was annoying, and kept us up the entire night.
