Travelodge Calgary South - Calgary

This hotel is OK. My only really big complaint was the heat!! It was very HOT in our rooms, thankfully we could open the window. Breakie was good! The location was excellent for what we needed.

There was a bunch of drunk people in the parking lot that woke us up aound 4am, i had to get up and ask them to leave.

Great Stay but be cautious if need to stay extra nite, you might have to go contact hotels.com. they will not register you at front desk. kind of a hassle but the stay was great just the little glitch.

When we arrived I asked to use the toilet. the older female staff member refused saying there were no public toilets. When booked in the older female member of staff gave the younger member of staff a telling off in front of us. The room coffee machines do not have any tea with them only coffee or Earl grey! I have stayed here before many years ago […] and I must say that the standard as dropped. The breakfast is free and because it is, one can not really complain of its complete lack off British breakfast items. Only pasteries, yogut and bread! Over the road is the Chinook Mall. Plenty of restaurants next door and nearby. The LRT within walking distance. Personally, only the cheap price and location would I stay there again. Mehr

Just stayed here for work. Very convenient location and practical for short term workers. Also, there's an amazing specialty liquor store in walking distance.

I stayed at the Travelodge on Dec 6, 2011. The best part of this hotel is the location- right beside Chinook Mall and several nice restaurants, shops, etc. in a good neighbourhood. However, the hotel itself was less than desirable. Upon entering my room, I nearly feinted with the heat even though the thermostat was turned all the way down. When I called […] the front desk, I was advised to turn on the air conditioner (in the middle of winter!), which was incredibly noisy and seemed to turn on and off every minute. The walls were paper thin, and I could hear people talking outside in the parking lot, as well as a lot of people coming and going at all hours in the hallway. The rooms are also in desperate need of an update. There were stains on the tile floor in the bathroom and along the grout in the bathtub. While the prices are very reasonable, it would have been worth it to spend an extra $40 to get a decent night's sleep somewhere else where I wasn't scared to take a bath. Mehr

Although this hotel is older, it was clean, easy to book and the location was good for shopping and restaurants. It was also very reasonably priced.

The room was very cold and the bathroom was like a freezer. It took a while to warm up but it was so cold outside that it would have been nice to enter a warm room.

We found the room clean, the bed comfortable but for some reason the room smelled like cigarette smoke. Outside the entrance to the exterior of the building there seemed to be a lot of cigarette smoke and that may have drifted into the room as we came in and out. Otherwise the room was quite comfortable.

Good Price and decent location. Wouldn't recommend one of their smoking rooms to anyone that is a non-smoker (it was all that was left as we booked late) it is very obvious that the room is a smoking room, all of our luggage smelled like smoke by the next morning. Beds are relatively comfortable, the continental breakfast was a little slim for options, […] but what was there was good. Overall, this was a decent place to sleep for the money, I would stay at this hotel again (just in a non-smoking room this time!) Mehr

Was not too impressed with this hotel. When I used the bathroom facet, I pulled up on it instead of pushing it up, and the knob came off in my hand. The breakfast was not very good. First there was no orange/apple juice. The milk for the ceral was warm and the cereal containers did not contain the cereal that was on the label. I would like to say that […] the staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful upon check-in, even providing us with a map showing all the surrounding restaurants. I would not recommend this hotel, however, with a couple of improvements I may change my mind. Mehr

We booked a non-smoking room for one night. Three doors down the row of smoking rooms started. The entire second floor reaked of smoke and our room filled with it as soon as we opened the door to enter it. Shower curtain was moldy smelling as soon as the water the hit it. 5 days later we are still waiting for the hotel to return the $100 hold on to […] our credit card when they told us it would be removed the day we checked out. When we called the credit card company they told us they had not had any requests from the hotel to release the hold and have now forwarded the matter to their fraud department. Mehr

This hotel was kind of clean but the staff members were not friendly at all. I was told on the phone that I could cancel 24 hours before checking in assuming it was 24 hours prior to each nights stay as I booked for 4 nights and only needed for two and I was not allowed to cancel the last two nights. There was garbage spilled outside in the parking […] lot and it was there for a afternoon and night hen we left. I did pick up some but not a very welcoming sight for new guests to see. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it. Mehr

This hotel was one recommended by the Rockyview Hospital as being close by and having medical rates for patients. It was easy to find and had a very fine complimentary breakfast. I will be staying there again!

we were in calgary for a wedding. on arrival we felt welcome . the rooms were clean. the staff were excellent and very friendly. it is very close to shopping and many attractions. thanks to the staff fpr an enjoyable stay.

The location of hotel is fantastic and very comfortable and clean to stay

This location in Southeast Calgary was awesome. Close to good shopping, Glenmore reservoir park area and just overall easy to get onto main arteries for access around city. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Decent outdoor pool and basic breakfast met our needs to get the day started.

We were pleasantly surprised at the location and the quietness of the hotel. Being right on a very busy road in Calgary we weren't sure how noisy it would be there but found that we did not hear any of the outside noise. Also it was nice to have a ground floor room and access to outside from the room. Had a short but good stay there and would definitely […] book again. Mehr

The staff when checking in were great. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of towels. In the morning there was a continental breakfast as well as a coffee pot in the room. Would definitely stay again.

This has to be one of the most convenient locations for a motel. It is within 1 block of the huge Chinook shopping Mall, close to the Heritage park and sits between several well known restaurants. However, it is cheap in price and really cheap in Quality so if you expect first class forget it. Maintenance is poor but the room is clean.

...but the staff were polite, the water for the shower was hot and the TV worked. For the budget minded, this works. But don't expect walnut trim on the walls or fancy omelets for breakfast.

My stay here was very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Sara was absolutely awesome!!!! She would anything to help or assist me. I love her!!!

we stayed here and never again.it was just terrible loud and noisy.people upstairs .laughin making noise banning around .you could heard everthing even the bed shake.When it came time for a shower at 6.30 had no water pressure,shower head and and tap where both running.Told the guy at front desk when we check out and all he said was (oh).had know sleep. […] pretty bad when you paid moneyfor a room to sleep and get no sleep. A lovely, large room with a huge bed (I've never seen one that big) and excellent facilities. It's not a grand 5-Star hotel but is excellent value for money, with a huge, light, airy, comfortable and quiet room. Definitely recommended.

The room was okay but the common areas of the hotel were a mess. The bed was a typical hotel bed, way past it's good days. The staff were friendly although not the most professional. I think we'll look elsewhere next time we go to Calgary.

It was fine for the cheap price we paid for one night. Simple room but clean. Decent breakfast

My stay at this hotel was fine with the exception of some unruly tenants above my room who stumped their feet all night when walking to keep me awake, only to continue their disturbance early in the morning having sex as the floor squeaked based on the rythm of their movement on the bed. Other than that, it would have been a perfect visit. On the whole, […] the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff did well to keep the place clean. Oh one more thing! If the hotel have a no smoking policy, then they better ensure that nobody smokes around the hallways for the rest of us to be smelling or inhaling their smoke. The space between the door and the carpet in the rooms is too high and allows the smell of the smoke to enter our rooms as well as the lights in the hallway shining into the rooms at night when you turn off your lights to go to sleep. If these things are fixed, I would like to stay there again on my next visit. Mehr

The hotel has a great location and price if you are wanting to save money. The hotel still has some smoking rooms and even though we stayed in a non smoking room I still felt like there was someone in the corner smoking. The room did need some updating

We were able to get to all palces that we needed to and found the location easy to retrun to. The kids enjoyed the pool and the ground level access as nice, we felt secure in the city.
