Hollywood Vermont/Sunset Travelodge - Los Angeles

Very near to metro station (Managable to hull your luggages from metro to hotel) clean hotel, friendly staff As compared to the hotels in this cost range, i would say its location is safe and convinent, although there are a few homelss people, but given in LA, it's nothing compare to other areas

I stayed there for 4 days and was very happy. The Location is perfect. The Walk of Fame and Hollywood Sign are just some min away. The service at the reception was perfect. When i'm going to LA again, i would definitely stay here!

Old motel style property that meets a "no frills" requirement. I stayed here twice in Jan/2012 and found the rooms clean and the beds surprisingly good. I know there have been issues with bed bigs but I experienced none of that. The property can be noisey as it is across the street from 2 hospitals so ambulances and helicopters can wake you at any hour--although […] this wasn't a constant issue. Parking is free but fills quickly in the on-site lot but there is an additional overflow lot I used that is next door---a good backup for customers. A mediocre continental breakfast is included but is limited to 2 cereals, low quality white and wheat bread, fruits, bagels, and coffee. Not great but it is free and will get you on your way in a pinch. We also had breakfast at "Fred 62" on Vermont which was very good. Mehr

If you don't mind scaled down accomodation, this is a really reasonably priced hotel nicely centrally located. There aren't any extras. Expect cereal and toast for breakfast (bare basics, but more than some hotes offer) and you do get free parking and wi fi. For its price, Travelodge wasn't too bad. But talking with my travel-mate, we would probably recommend some other hotel if they were paying along the same price. There is limited parking available, and the water wouldn't drain in our shower in the beginning. We weren't in for most of the day, so we didn't have the chance to really experience the customer […] service portion of the stay. Free, but slow, WiFi is available, and they serve breakfast (usually a couple fruits, some prepackaged pastries) starting at 6:30AM. We chose this hotel because of its convenient location to Hollywood and it offers free parking (rare for many hotels in L.A) . The hotel delivered. The room had a fridge, microwave, and an easy-to-use safe. The beds were comfortable. We did not use the outdoor pool because it is January. This is not the Ritz, but it was clean and adequate. Not the place […] to take a date, but rather a place to sleep. Plenty of restaurants just up the road on Vermont. We were going to The Vista theatre for an event and this hotel is perfect. There are also lots of great places to eat in the surrounding areas, and lots of stores as well. Old school 2 floor motel that achieves the basics. Nothing extra, but it is a very good value if you want something close to Sunset and Hollywood Blvd's. Rooms had surprisingly good beds and four pillows per bed--nice if you like more than one pillow to moosh around when you sleep. A "continental" breakfast is available...two cereals, bananas, coffee, […] and store packaged rolls/muffins. Cheap white and wheat bread is available for toast. First trip to Los Angeles for my family and I. Location of hotel is close to Vermont Sunset Metro and bus-stop - travelling is convenient and easy to Hollywood Boulevard, North Hollywood, Century City, Union Station. Room is nice and comfortable. Very pleased with the complimentary breakfast. NIce and friendly staff. Would love to return again.

Initially I was a little worried about staying at a Travelodge but I'm glad we did. Every staff member I interacted with was very kind and helpful as well. The room was very clean. I never found a single hair anywhere in the room, and I looked because that is one thing that will completely gross me out. The overall location was good in terms of public […] transportation. After just one day of driving in L.A. I was thrilled that the subway station was a short walk away. The continental breakfast was terrible though and is my only complaint. It was plain instant oatmeal packs, underripe bananas, prepackaged cheese danish, and two types of cereal, and the usual tea, coffee, and juice. Overall, my daughter and I would definitely stay again. For the great rate we got the room at in that area, I can deal with the lousy breakfast they offered. Mehr

Good location, only 4 miles from Universal and that is what we needed. Room is clean and check in/out was easy. Con - Small rooms. Very small. Not a lot of room to move. Water was too hot and In had hard time in the shower.

Had an interview at one of the local hospitals. This place is very close to Kaiser, Children's Hospital, etc. All the basics were included. The internet was slow. There were strange noises outside during the middle of the night that disrupted my sleep several times. I liked how there were a few free TV On Demand programs. The hotel was very basic. The location was ok only two underground stops away from downtown Hollywood and the tube station was a two minute walk away. The neighbourhood was a bit unnerving with all sorts of characters around but LA is full of characters!

I liked almost everything, especially the free breakfast and parking. It was also a very good location for the purpose of my vacation--visiting family and friends. The only thing I did not like is the fact that one day, after coming back from running errands, I turned on the television and found it to be on a Hispanic channel. Normally, the channel […] would be on the last channel I was watching, and this led me to believe that the housekeeper was taking a break and watching tv in my room. Otherwise, I liked the place. Cheaper than the rest and nice location if you have a car. Poor breakfast though, served near the front desk in a place too tight for the number the guests they host.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to all the attractions I was interested in and local ameneties good. If flying into LAX, think twice about a taxi as it was very expensive to get to the hotel. I can honestly say I'd stay there agin.

Great Location for price, only stayed one night, but would go back, rooms were a nice size & clean, free buffet breakfast was an adequate start to the day saving much needed time for sightseeing

This is actually a motel in a very good location. Everything is OK, including the staff, the breakfast and the Wi-Fi. The only problem is the tiny walls, since you hear every noise from outside the room. Definitely I will book there again!

Nice hotel for the price, good location very close to the subway to Hollywood boulevard. Rooms were cleaned and replenished daily. Staff were really friendly and helpful and breakfast is very nice with cereals, toast, danish etc.Not very modern but it's a perfectly nice hotel, my only criticism is that I got the room next to the air con generator and […] had a noisy fridge. Check in was fast and easy with friendly staff. Room was very clean and smelled good. Bed was very comfortable and the a/c worked perfectly. Provided complimentary coffee. The only downside is that it was hard to find parking because it's too small.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hollywood/Vermont Travelodge. The staff was great, and the breakfast was adequate. The hotel was conveniently located to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theater and the Grove. There were also many restaurants within walking distance. Free Wi-Fi was also a nice perk.

At the price that I pay, it value for money but it away from town and no shopping area around. But nearby to Universal Studio.

We arrived only to be told after check-in that the pool wasn't actually open for our stay, a bit of advance notice would have been nice as it was one of the reasons we'd booked to stay there. Room was dim and small for 3 people but adequate. Beds were ok. Hotel location is not really in Hollywood, just outside. But we used buses and trains and so were […] able to get around fairly easily. Spent 2 nights at the Hollywood Vermont Travelodge during a 16day trip to the USA. Location was really good, easy to find and easy to get out and about to other places in LA. The room was excellent, large comfy bed, clean hot/powerful shower, a/c, free WiFi and cable TV. The complimentary continental breakfast was excellent and set you up well for the […] day with a range of fruit, ceral, toast, muffins etc. Staff were friendly nd helpful. I will be staying at this hotel again. Location is good, price was right, beds were cozy, breakfast bar, though limited, was kept up nice and fresh. Best part besides comport, was metro station a block away. Grocery store, and restaurants near by as well. Micro and fridge, awesome cable line up. Table in room! Was really nice for the price. This was a last minute overnight stay - booked easily online and very easy to get to and find. Helpful, courteous desk clerks. Room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The online purchase was easy. I recommend this for a day or two - they even have a pool. A/C worked great (it was 92 at 11pm!). Nice shower and amenities.

I was a little nervous about going there because of the previous reviews I have read. The price was great and my overall stay was great too. The room was compact but I was good for two people. The hotel was what you would expect but the pool was closed for rénovation and no one tought of advising us head of Time!

Stay away!! We had bedbugs in Room 249 -> bites are itchy as hell.

I was a bit worried about this hotel but it turned out to be more than fine. The Hilton it's not but then you're not paying Hilton prices. The room was huge and it was great to have a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was small but clean. Things were definitely a little tired (marks on the paint work, holes in the sofa etc) but it didn't bother me […] too much. Breakfast was pretty minimal but coffee, orange juice, cereals, muffins were all adequate. Free internet for 10-15 mins is a great bonus and the reception staff were all polite and helpful. The location was great, right by the subway station to take you straight to downtown or Hollywood, and on main bus routes. Is it the nicest area? No but as it's near the hospitals it's a pretty busy area and I felt safe enough walking around by myself. My room was on the front of the hotel and I wasn't disturbed at all by sirens. Overall compared to the prices that you pay for accommodation I thought this was hotel was a great deal and would definitely consider if visiting LA again. Mehr

We were close to everything we were interested in seeing. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Before checking out, we did one last check to make sure we didn't forget anything and found a sock and a water bottle under a bed that weren't ours, presumably left by a previous guest.
