Travelodge at the Presidio - San Francisco

Motel und Zimmer zu klein, Dreckige Zimmer, scheinbar dreckige und nicht gewechselte Handtücher und Bettlaken. Insgesamt zu dreckiger Eindruck. Kaum Parkplätze. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Wir konnten unser Gepäck ohne Diskussionen schon am Morgen im Hotel deponieren. Fishermann's Warf mit dem Bus ohne grosse Umstände zu erreichen.

the staff was good. the location was great!!! when we checked in there was a used soap bar in the shower and used wet towels, but we had brought our own so we didnt care for it. but over all it was a nice room.

Standard hotel, nothing fancy. Stay in the city without paying $50 to $75 for parking.

Very close to food and entertainment and excellent places for the dogs to romp.

Off the busy strip of Lombard, next to the park. Nice and quite.

Clean room. Great staff. Very comfortable lounge downstairs with cookies, etc. Free parking. Only downsides -- room is a little small, lounge is small, and the parking lot does not have enough spaces (although usually the streets around the hotel are fine). Oh, and great neighborhood. About 10 minutes to Civic Center BART, etc.

Staff was very friendly. Gave clear directions to nearby restauranst in walking distance.

The building is old but the staff is friendly and helpful. It's a great location right next to the Presidio and convenient to the restaurants and bars on Lombard and Chestnut.

When we entered the room it was freezing and the heat was not working properly, we had to call the office and they had to walk us through their confusing heat set up with a thermostat that did not work corectly. When we were able to get the heat on the curtains that were above the unit, giving the only privacy for the room kept flying up because of […] the fan from the heater. Next the TV did not work, again we had to call the office and the person on the night shift had to come up to the room. She found the electric eye for the remote on the floor behind the wall of furniture and had to pick up the set it in the correct place for it to work. She said the person who cleans the room does this often and we should cement it down as we cement the TV's. There was no coffee or cups to make coffee, but they did supply a small coffee pot and sugar and stirrers. The bathroom was freezing especially the floor tiles which felt like you were walking on ice. We had to put the towels on the floor so we could not touch the floor tiles just to use the bathroom, which we tried to spend as little time in there as possible. The bathroom had peeling paint and needs to be completely remodeled. I want to mention that the people working the night shift were nice enough to come up and address some of the problems the we had, and fix the TV, and tell us about the heat. But, on the other hand, there were things wrong with the room that couldn't be fixed like the freezing bathroom with the cold floor and the curtains flying around when the heat is turned on. Mehr

Travelodge Presidio in San Francisco was a great experience. The staff was so friendly and accommodating--

We were welcomed by Niki and our every need met immediately. The hotel was very clean, the room was small but met our needs perfectly. The room has a mini frig and Niki brought us a microwave. They have fresh made cookies in the hospitality room during the day along with tea. In the morning we had packaged muffins, crossant and coffee. The bed and pillows […] were extremely comfortable. The hotel was in great shape. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Also, Bruce at the front desk was very cordial and helpful. This locaton has the best staff and they really show their customer service!!!! Mehr

#1 Quiet #2 Free parking when you get there early. Free parking on streets on weekends (parking can costs as much as a room in SF). Bathrooms recently upgraded nicely. Service friendly and helpful. Then i came home, i missing my news cardigan, then was stripet and beautiful in brightly coloured, i had knitting then, my suitcase was not lock, i need then, have i forget then? Annelise.

Although Lombard street is generally quite a busy and noisy street, this Travelodge is at the very end of the street where there is very little traffic. Difficult to walk to all the sights of San Francisco, But buses stop almost right outside the door, and it is a short drive to many attractions. The room was nice and clean as well as being very quiet. […] Staff was very helpful and kept the room nice and clean throughout my stay. The bad was also extremely comfortable. I have been to San Francisco many times, but never stayed at this hotel. I will definitely look at staying there on my next trip though! Mehr

Loved the hotel but they only have 17 car parking spots and about 26 rooms. Parking is expensive in San Fran.

The hotel is in good location, just a short taxi ride to most locations. As per most places that we stayed in the U.S, it is not sound proof. Raymond the Concierge/check in guy is full of knowledge from experience. If you want something/go some where, ask Raymond.

hotel is a bit dated and shabby however the beds were comforable and everything worked including free wifi! But in a city like san francisco you will spend most of your time exploring. Ray and Bruce, the staff on duty when we stayed were fantastic hosts. They provided information on request and suggested plenty of things to do and places to go and more […] importantly how to get there! There are several bus stops around the corner and you can get 1,3,or 7 day passes from the desk. The city is then at your disposal. Chestnut street is a block across and down one so eating and shopping are close. Parking is free but tight however the staff will soon point you to the right place to park for free. Overall we will definitely stay again when we make a return trip to SF. Mehr

My husband and I had a great two-night stay here recently. The guy at the front desk when we checked in was so helpful. He spent 10 minutes going over a map of the city with us and highlighting all of the relevant bus routes. The room was clean, though a little bit small. The location seemed perfectly safe and was near a ton of restaurants. As far as […] the included breakfast, be warned that that means packets of instant oatmeal and prepackaged pastries. This hotel was within walking distance of the Exploratorium and I liked that. It was also close to the Golden Gate bridge and the Walt Disney museum as well. Staff was friendly and took care of our needs. They even tried to find a cable for our portable DVD player to hook up to the TV(they couldn't find one). Happy with our stay.

North side San Fran hotel near the presidio was a good choice for us. We were able to get to Alcatraz, fisherman's wharf, haight ashbury, etc very easily. Only complaint was parking. Not enough spots available if they have a full house and you are out late.

This man was the most friendly of staff you will ever find in the state of California! OMG he made the stay! Give him a raise!

We recently stayed for two nights in a room on the ground floor. One morning at about 1:30am, someone knocked on our door. The knocking didn't last long, but it did waked me up and got me alarmed. Try to get yourself a room on upper floors, if you choose this hotel. Free parking was a bonus but the car park seemed always full in the night.

The room was a little small for 3 people, but other than that everything was great. The hotel staff were very knowledgable and so helpful to everyone. The location was ideal.

We went to a workshop at the Presidio and the location was really convenient...we ate around the corner at Liverpool Lil's and the food was delicious. the room had two queens and each bed had four pillows of varying hardness...I was very comfortable and slept well. The walls were thin and I could hear the kids next door, but when we got back at midnight, […] they were asleep. The location was ideal for us. We forgot about daylight savings time and when I got to the breakfast room, the desk clerk told me not to worry and to take my time checking out and he put out more breakfast food for all the "late" risers...again, he was extremely nice! Close to Presidio, Marina, Union St. shopping, GG Bridge. Comfortable, friendly staff, a great value.

Parking is a little tight, we got the last spot in the parking lot, but there appears to be on-street parking within about a block. Quiet location on Lombard St. but just off 101 is nice. It would be hard to get around to sights if you don't have a car, but the slightly-off-the-beaten-track location means it's a great value. About a mile walk to Union […] St. area which has LOTS of great restaurants, shopping, etc. Mehr

Very accommodating and informative staff. The room was clean and nicely appointed, albeit smallish. MUCH more quiet than a few blocks away on the "same" street (see a map). I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

The staff was great. Although I didn't get his name, one gentleman in particular was very friendly and helpful, even going out-of-his way to find tour information on the web. We enjoyed seeing the "wind-pipes" near the Yacht Club.

The room and bed was very comfortable. The location was not the best, but was good for the price for the bay area. Parking is free but limited to a small lot. You need to look for parking on the street if the lot is full. For the price it was great.

This hotel experience was great. I have stayed in many places in the City, and this was the best deal I've experienced. The hotel was affordable, recently renovated, very clean, and the most helpful staff I've ever had anywhere. Raymond in particular was a wealth of knowledge, even for myself (who lived in the City for 15 years). The hotel is located […] just a half block from the "locals" entrance to the Presidio, and two blocks from the busy part of Lombard, giving a quiet spot in a busy part of the City. I highly recommend this little gem, for location, staff, and cleanliness. The one drawback was that the rooms are a little small and ours did not have a bathtub (shower only). Amazing location - the Presidio entrance was only steps away, and the neighbourhood was quiet and beautiful. If you want to stay somewhere away from the crowds, this is a nice choice. Good access to buses. The staff were extremely freindly and very helpful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable in talking about their city and things to do and see. The room […] was adequate - not much space, but that seems to be the case for most reasonably priced rooms in San Francisco. Nothing fancy or luxurious here, though. While the neighbourhood is relatively quiet, the rooms are not very soundproof, so don't expect complete quiet (this is a big city, after all). The continental breakfast offers very little (a couple choices of cereal and packaged danish). The rooms did have coffee makers and there was free access to a computer off the "hospitality" room, if you don't have a laptop to take advantage of the free wifi. If you come here for the location and staff, you will not be disappointed. If you're looking for more from the room, expect to pay more and go elsewhere. Mehr

Room is small but adequate.Hotel provides Parking, a huge bonus in SF.Front office service was terriffic.Breakfast minimal but adequate.Free internet.Overall a great stay here, value for money and close enough to fishermans wharf with out the being in the centre of it.A 10$ taxi ride away. location was fine...amenities were terrible..this an old joint that is being refurbished on the run...beds were comfy tho..very small rooms. Bathrooms were real tiny and dingy. Parking was free but difficult to negotiate even for small vehicle...definitely not worth the price quoted by hotel.com.

This location is one block from the entrance to the Presidio, one of SF's more delightful areas. From here you can easily access by car or bike the area's museums (the Legion of Honor, the DeYoung and Academy of Science) and attractions (Exploratorium, Lincoln Park Golf Links, Crissy Field, Lucas Tech) and so on. Go over the hill a few blocks, turn […] right and wind up in the "new Chinatown" area of W. Clement Avenue and head towards the beach and zoo for a day's outing. Go towards the bay to Chestnut for the cafes and over to Fort Mason Exhibition Hall as well as heading for shopping and entertainment down along the waterfront. The rooms are clean but small and the service non-existant. If you are looking for lodgings this is not a bad choice but skip the "free breakfast- orange-flavored water for juice, brown water for coffee and Danish pastries right out of a vending machine.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood off the busy and noisey main street. The rooms are very reasonably priced, the hotel is clean, parking is easy, the location is excellent to get to any place in the city with ease, and the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and kind. We have stayed there only 1 night, but we enjoyed it. No problems with parking; very helpful and nice staff; comfortable and clean room - what more to say, we got a good deal and were very happy with it.

I would recommend this hotel location any time. Tyler was completely professional and helpful. Richard was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make our stay awesome. Steve did a great job of making sure we had a place to park even after returning rather late at night. Thanks to all the great staff at the Travelodge at the Presidio!!!

The rooms may not be the nicest but they appeared clean. Complimentary breakfast is not something to count on as it is packaged sweet rolls and cereal. But the staff is very nice and the location is perfect for walking tours of the SF area. It is a dog friendly hotel and our pups were welcomed with water and treats. We will stay there again. Our group needed accommodations for one more guest....this would make 5 people in the room set up for 4. Staff provided plenty of pillows, blankets etc....so someone could sleep comfortably on the rug.
