Wife and I spent a day and night. We loved the hillside layout of the hotel rooms, with patios facing the bay view. The salt water pool was awesome. The room and service were a great.

Lovely, moderately priced hotel, right next to the beach. Breakfast at the Inn was very good (included). Very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.

Very friendly staff, rooms were clean but are long overdue for a freshening up. Think 1980s styling. Hotel is on the inland side of Hwy 1, restaurant (free sit down breakfast was included with our room) and market shops are on the water side. No beach access within walking distance as you're at Bodega Bay, must drive a few miles up Hwy 1 to get to the […] beaches. Mehr

If you love the water then this is the place for you. Nearly every room has a wonderful view of the Bay or the swimming pool. The Inn is right on the water as is the restaurant--actually two restaurant options. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi are beautiful! A great place to rest, relax and contemplate life.

We have stayed here many times at different seasons over the years. We really enjoy the coastal flora on the property, and this time we were even treated to the sight of a large deer casually grazing it's way through the landscaping outside our window, and rabbits running through the field next to the property. It was very relaxing. We were greeted […] at the desk by a very friendly young lady with a good sense of humor. The room was on the second floor at the top of the hill, just as we requested when making the reservation. It was mid-week in June, and it was quiet. The room was clean, and well maintained, and the heating in the room was pleasingly quiet, which is unusual for a hotel. We slept well, although the queen bed might be ready for an upgrade. We slept well though. The room came with the usual morning full breakfast at the restaurant across the street, and the food and service there was very good. As always, as we were leaving we looked at each other, and said We'll be back. Mehr

While the hotel is nicely kept, its age is beginning to show, at least in the room where we were. Honestly, the bed was comfortable, and the room was acceptable. The hotel's restaurant located across the road was lacking something I can not put my finger on.

I loved the actual location of the hotel and view!!! I have two minor complaints. The heater would click all night which made it difficult to sleep and the check in being at 4pm and check out at 11am. I hate this protocol and it feels like a little bit of a rip off, but again, the view was great and I would stay here again just based off location but […] I might research another place before deciding to stay here as my first option. I had booked this hotel because everyone spoke so highly about it, but hadn't stayed in many years. I'm sure this place was amazing years ago, but it needs a few upgrades to be considered "Good" for the price. Not a cheap place to stay at all, so I expected more than what I got. The first thing I noticed as soon as I walked into the room was an overbearing […] smell of smoke. Our room came with a fireplace, so it made sense but I assumed they would have used some sore of deodorizer to help clear up the smell between guests. The complementary bottle of wine was a nice touch and the ocean view was great. The bathroom was very dated and the shower was no exception. I actually opted out of my morning shower and waited till I got home. The free shampoo and soap were in no way luxurious. A small upgrade that would make a bigger impact as a whole. The pool and jacuzzi was fun and I even used the hot sauna. If it wasn't for the smokey room and below par bathroom, I would have enjoyed my stay a little more. I will definitely try a different location the next time I stay in Bodega. As for the Tides Restaurant, its not worth your hard earned cash. Overpriced, no flavor, and terrible service. Made me wish I ordered delivery pizza instead of trying to plan a romantic dinner. That's a place I wouldn't even eat at if the meal was free. Sorry if that came off as harsh, but the restaurant was the nail in the coffin for me. Mehr

The room was very noisy not sufficient insulation to block their sound the staff did not assist us when we complained about noisy neighbors to the point of dismissing me on the phone. Staff was told by my husband to apologize to me he never did apologize to me But instead insinuated that we would need to move not those causing the problem. Very poor […] management housekeeping was nice. Because of all this especially managements attitudes I would not recommend anyone to stay here. The lady who checked us in treated us poorly not professionally not with this customer service orientation total disdain. At $250 a night we expected a lot more Mehr

Good overall stay. The heater in the room did not work at first, apparently the pilot went out. Staff promplty came and relit it. In the morning, shortly before checkout, all the power on one side of the room went out, including the TV. Not a huge problem. Great staff, great pool and amazing views from up on the hill.

I booked a handi-capped room for 3 adults. two nights=$507 includes a free breakfast. The Inn knew nothing of the above. The king ste we booked was upstairs and they charged me $40 for my daughter's "free breakfast". Mother's day we went to their restaurant for breakfast. They handed us a limited menu. My husband asked to sit at one of the 20 empty […] window seats. We were told they were all reserved. We found out that if you had the "free" menus you sat in a walled off section like 2nd class citizens. My husband asked to sub lowfat link for the bacon and was refused. Dinner was worse. We waited in the bar a 1/2 hour to be seated. Then we sat 35 mins, w/o water, or menus...no greeting or contact. FInally rec'd menus no water. The restaurant was not busy! Another 20 mins she took our order. 15 mins until salad. She asked if we wanted bread and fresh pepper we said yes and we didn't see her again for abt 30 mins. when we received our cold entree. My daughter politely complained to the mgr. He discounted the meal. Yes the room had a beautiful view but I paid extra for my daughter at booking , then more at check in and they didn't prep the room with 3 glasses or towels, the carpet was stained, the no smkg smelt like cigs ..being treated like second class citizens throughout our stay was humiliating. We will never return to this establishment and will not recommend it to anyone. Mehr

Stayed in a room on a second floor. Nice view. No air conditioning. Bad smell, really old building with a clear lack of maintenance over the years. Unfortunately, there is not much hotel to go in this area. We paid 200$/ night should have paid 100$...

This hotel offers a fantastic location. All the rooms are facing the ocean or bay. The rooms are all original (1960 ish) and really need to be updated. We found some things in the rooms did not work or worked poorly. One day the housekeepers forgot to clean our room. We arrived at the room that night and one of night managers (overweight Mexican guy […] wearing a sports coat) told us housekeepers are gone, and "no one is here that does that kind of work". He actually suggested we stay in the dirty hotel room with dirty towels, up-made beds, ashes from fireplace, stopped up bath tub, etc. We had to point out we were paying $225 per night for ?. Eventually, a younger male clerk upgraded our room to a suite after overhearing the manager treat us like we were homeless. Again, it's a great location, but I bit pricey considering the quality of the rooms and the staff is made up from "cheap labor" and they are not very well trained. Mehr

The staff, the view and the breakfast were excellent but the rooms were very dated. The room was big and clean but it did feel like stepping back to the 80s. If you want a clean room in a good location with a good view stay here and just ignore the rest.

The hotel view and grounds were very nice. The service, from check-in, to the restaurant and bar, to check-out was excellent. My wife commented the sheets felt like parchment paper. I likened them to rubberized crib sheets. Both beds had the same-feeling sheets. Other than that, it was an amazing view and a great complimentary breakfast.

I haven't been to Inn at the Tides since the late 90s. I was happy to see that the grounds, facilities and the room (at least ours) was very well cared for. I didn't recall from my other visit that breakfast is included (I've had better, but it was fine) and a lovely bottle of wine was provided in our room. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and […] will definitely return. Such quiet and lovely surroundings, and the staff is friendly and professional. Loved the view of the bay. The restaurant and bar crew was great. The full cooked breakfast was awesome. Of course...the view of seabirds and sea lions diving for breakfast while we ate put the morning over the top.

When we booked our room, we were not aware of the large property and the multiple buildings. It was like we had a private apartment next to a field with cows, frogs and birds. We could hear the seals in the bay along with the foghorns. The view was nice and the included breakfast was delicious with multiple choices on the "free" menu. My daughter and I see each other very infrequently. Part of the problem is that she lives in a tiny studio apartment in the LA area and I lived in Mexico with occasional trips to the SF Bay Area. This past meeting we spent […] a brief weekend at The Inn at the Tides. Besides being located in a charming California coastal fishing village, the amenities at the hotel delighted us. A huge heated pool, a sauna, hot tub and a well appointed, spotless room, complete with fireplace, robes, a bottle of wine, huge tv and coffee pot, were more than we could have hoped for. This was a very nice hotel with many nice amenities, such as complimentary bottle of wine in room and breakfast. Bed and linens were very nice. All rooms have a view. Only negative was the ice machine was right outside our door. Otherwise, I highly recommend this property. Great value for the price.

The view was beautiful. You could the bay and the ocean from our room. Did not go in to the hot tub. People were partying down there.You could hear them so we stayed in. Had dinner at one of the nearby restaurant. Very Good.Will go back again soon

The staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable and it was nice to have a fireplace. Although either the wood was too green or there was a problem with the ventilation because the wood would not stay lit. The view was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. The hotel was nice came with a compementary bottle of wine, bath robes. Tha hot tub was broke during our visit and when we were loading the car there was a creepy maid who stood and stared at us. This lasted about 15 minites. She sould be working not hanging out near the bushes and staring.

Very quiet could not hear other guests in room. The only bad ghing is bedding really dated and fog horn goes off all nite. 1st nite woke in middle of nite could not go back to sleep. 2 nd nite asked for earplugs and probldm solved. Overall nice hotel and free breakfast was a plus

My wife and I stayed there two nights and had a very nice stay. The room was very spacious and comfortable. They had the makings for a fire all ready for us and the bed was great. The grounds are impeccably manicured with lovely trees, flowers, and bushes. It's a short walk across the highway to The Tides gift shop and restaurant, where dinner was so-so […] and a bit over-priced, although the free breakfast the next morning was great, and we were treated to the antics of water fowl and sea lions just outside. The history part is very cool, being that Hitchcock's The Birds was filmed there (they should have that available for viewing in all of the rooms!). One thing that was quite bothersome was a horn or beep that we heard every 8 seconds (I counted) throughout the night. I forgot to ask what that was (a fog horn?) but it made for a less-than-perfect night's sleep. It's a bit of a remore location, but if you travel north up the coast, there are incredible sights with HUGE rocks dotting the shoreline. If they'd do something about the "beep" I would highly recommend it and stay there again. Mehr
