es ist ein älteres Hotel, es wird auch nicht gepflegt, für das Geld was ich da ausgegeben habe ist es nicht wert. es war auch einiges los in New Orleans, es kann aber nicht sein, dass der Preis am Wochenende mehr als das 10 fache ist. durch den Tag ist es mit dem Buss ereichbar ansonnsten ist man auf ein Taxi oder Auto angewiesen.

This hotel was freaking horrible! I slept straight up the chair against the wall because that was the cleanest place to lay my head!!! This hotel should be demmed "unStayable"!!

You get what you paid for! Hotel is really in bad shape, rooms are big but poorly decorated and towels and bed are in bad condition. The only good thing is that you have free parking and to go to french quarters takes you 5 minutes and a 10 dollar taxi.

The location is not very convenient, there is no restaurant near by. The room is just ok.

This is a well used hotel, over-used actually. We checked in the day after the Final Four and things were slow to be readied for the next guests. Our first third floor room facing the inner courtyard overlooking the pool, the one we selected, was not made up yet and it was 6PM. Back to the front desk, they seemed surprised and somewhat annoyed the room […] was not ready, to be given a different room. This time on the top floor, no king bed just two doubles. Room was large but mostly unfurnished, window rattled noisily in the wind, the towels are very small but clean and the bed linens were also clean. That is more than I can say about the carpet though as it was extremely dirty, so much so that I would not walk on it in bare feet! There was a huge storm that night with almost continuous lightening and thunder accompanied by heavy downpours; being on the top floor it was particularly disturbing as the ill-fitting venetian blinds did little to dull the brilliant flashes of lightening, the booming thunder also shook the whole floor while the driving rain lashed against the rattly window making it even more noisy. Sleep was a rare commodity that night but it was more the storm than the room. They seem to be trying to upgrade this aging hotel a room at a time but it seems to be a party hotel with cheap rates so even the 'upgraded' rooms are becoming very well used. Perhaps closing a whole floor and revamping everything at once would help. When we arrived, before the storm was even a thought, there was a group of teens using the pool and they seemed to be having a great time. I cannot speak to the possible thinness of the walls as we did not have any nearby neighbors. All in all, you get what you pay for - we didn't pay much and we didn't get much. Mehr

This place is horrible!!!!! In our room the AC didn't work, the hot water in the shower was broke, there was no smoke detector, the light was out in the bathroom, and the floor looked liked it wasn't vacuumed in at least 6 months. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

This is absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed. I should have heeded the other reviewers advice, but we were there for the Final 4 and by the time we realized how bad it was we had very few options. Know that we are male, college coaches in our late 20's or 30's so we're not prude or soft by any stretch of the imagination. These were the problems […] with our stay: 1. Bed bugs in our room 2. Toilet stopped working 3. Shower was grimey and dirty and you didnt feel clean after you used it. 4. Towels we're dirty and rarely replaced. 5. Room was damp and dirty. I walked around our room in our bare feet and they were black when I went to shower. 6. It's located in a terrible and unsafe area. 7. None of the outlets worked in our room. 8. Our neighbors room had no phone. I could keep going, but just know that we felt like we were escaping prison when the Cabbie took us to the airport. Mehr

I'm not particularly diva-ish, and I was just looking for a last minute deal for Spring Break in NOLA. I was a little apprehensive about Midtown Hotel after reading the online reviews, but the stay wasn't that bad. I had a clean place to sleep and shower, and I spend most of my days in the Quarter, so it all worked out well.

This hotel is in a very sketchy area, next to a nightclub. There were things from past guests left in the room and the windows didn't lock. The overall look of the room/hotel in general was dirty. I left this hotel immediately after checking in.

Worst hotel we've ever stayed in. Clean lobby, but hotel itself is old & rundown. 2nd day, bed was made, but zero towels left. No amenities. Shady neighborhood.

i have been coming to new orleans for over 25 yrs. this hotel use to be a most premium hotel. through the years it has changed hands and after the last hurricane the midtown hotel name took over. i would recommend this hotel for couples or single guys. not for single women or children, not that they woudnt be welcome or wouldnt be satisfied, its just […] that now this area and hotel are more geared for couples and grownups. also if i had a wife or someone i was trying to impress i wouldnt take them there, unless they really loved me so much they didnt care where they stayed. This hotel was ghetto style. It was near Xavier University but still in a bad part of town. The room smelt like mold and mildew, and was unsecured from the outside balcony making it easy for someone to break into the room from the balcony, the balcony deck was dryrotting and scarry to walk on, there were bugs in the room, there was no refrigerator or […] microwave, the ice machine in the corridor was unplugged, the floor upon entering the room was squeeky, there was no telephone in the room. This place is nasty. Our room did not have a window to the outside (but there was a window out to the hallway so people could see into the room). The entire place stunk like mold and cigarettes. It was humid and gross. My hair went from straight to curly just being in the humid room, because we could not open a window to air it out. No hot water. We […] found a bug and went to change rooms. We had to stand in line with 3 other people complaining about worse stories in their rooms. No phones in the rooms. My favorite was when the manager explained that it would cost $39,000 to get phones in the rooms. HAHA, well I guess you shouldn't waste your money then! On the contrary, we were nice to the hotel employees and they were very nice and moved rooms for us. They also helped us with transportation and knowledge of the area. The location is great. Every half hour a public bus comes by and takes you to bourbon street for $1.25. No need to get a cab. Still- too gross to book here. Mehr

They were all over. We chose to throw our luggage out than risk taking the bugs home

Got there, got to the room opened the door turned on the lights roaches were running wild, no phone in room went down to front desk told the young man, he said they know, and said I could change rooms but they are there in there too. we slept wth our clothes on and did not open our bags until morning.

This hotel is a crying shame, i hope nobody ever decides to stay there. I had to pay $25 extra for a crapie room that i didnt even stay the whole night in. i waste my time and money. the room had roaches and cracked walls and the shower was dirty with hair in it. it smell so nasty that we used our own air fresher and my boyfriend and daughter had to […] find another hotel to stay in which was so much better im so dissapointed and i told the guy at the desk and all he said was i appolgize didnt try to refund or anything please thank twice beware Mehr

This hotel was horrible! First we showed up one hour early to see if we could check in they said the rooms arent ready,no problem so i went to the bathroom there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the restroom in the lobby! When we finally got check in we go to the room i put the key in the door go to open and it would not open so i try again push […] a little harder this time no dice! so i try a third time this time i put my shoulder into it and the door finally comes open. They had painted the seal shut on the door! so we go in the room smells like a gym locker room! i go to the bathroom and there is no shower curtain! Really no shower curtain! I call down stairs they say they will get one up to me. They never did get me one! This is honestly they nastiest hotel i have ever had the pleasure of staying at!! Mehr

It's not a good sign when you walk into your room and the bed isn't made. No apologies were made for this. I was simply put into another room. Unacceptable.

You will be so disgusted with this hotel. Hair all over the bathroom floor, dirty towels, cracked fixtures, NOTHING WORKS (vending machines, ATM, change machine, elevator), broken purple tv with no remotes, drilling in the ceiling at 4am, they booked us in the same room with other people, no housekeeping, wet spots on the floor like a pipe was leaking […] under the carpet, RUDE AND IGNORANT STAFF, the pool looks like someone puked in it, and they charged me an extra $215 after I had already paid through hotels.com. Oh, and the surrounding neighborhoods look like a war zone. Really. Cars blown up and on cinder blocks... AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Mehr

I've been going to NOLA for close to 20 years but had a hard time finding a room so I did a search and this place popped up. When we opened the door to the room, you could tell that very recently someone had kicked the door in and they repaired it by nailing the broken pieces into the frame. I asked to be moved 7 times and was told each time "you'll […] have to speak to a manager". Well guess what? The manager was NEVER on-site and never attempted to make contact w/ me. The shower flooded each and every time and when you went to the front desk to complain (yes, you have to go to the front desk as they don't have phones in the room), guess what? Yet again you had to speak to the mystery manager and it never got fixed. The smell?!? I've never smelled anything like it. Want a non-smoking room? You're out of luck at this place. Do NOT stay here. Let me repeat that; DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I don't care why you're going to NOLA but this is not the place for anyone. We ended up going out very early and coming in very late just so we did not have to stay in this dump... Mehr

The location is excellent. But the hotel is remodeling for the next six months. The room smell like panit, there was a squeaky noise, didnt bother but i dont know where is was coming from. The restroom door didnt close because of dried paint. I dont think i be staying ther no more.

The first thing was the customer service, they were rude. Their housekeeping staff was rude, and outright lied to me several times about bringing me more towels and changing the bed. I found a cigarette butt in between the sheets after the lady had already told me the sheets were new. The shower had inconsistent temperature, and pressure, so halfway […] through a shower I was scalded and frozen. Overall horrible experience and I advise hotels.com to remove them from their searches. Mehr

On the plus side, this place is dirt cheap and only three miles from downtown New Orleans. We were able to walk to the trolley from the hotel to get downtown and take a pretty cheap cab to get back. We felt reasonably safe at the hotel, although we definitely wouldn't have tried to walk around at night. The woman working at the front desk was very pleasant […] and helpful. On the negative side, it is pretty gross. We brought our own sheets and towels, which was good b/c our bed didn't have a fitted sheet (just a flat sheet) and only one towel for two people. The shower didn't have a have a shower head (just spewed water at you) and didn't drain properly. I wouldn't stay there again, but I would say if you're in a crunch and need somewhere to stay for one night it will be ok Mehr

This hotel gives hotel.com a bad reputation. This hotel is very misleading. My stay here was awful. I could start by saying the front desk ppl had the worst attitude i have ever seen, the area is terrible part of new orleans, the rooms did not have a telephone clock or towel and the towels they did have well they came from wal mart. Not to mention the […] showers did not work the water did not drain out the tube. we had to take a bird bath... this place needs alot of work. Mehr

This is the worst hotel that I have stay in. The room and bath room were dirty and they only provide one bath towel for two people. Bad! Bad!!!

Hotel was pre-paid through Hotels.com and upon check in front desk still was trying to charge me!!! So she "gives" us the room and the next day another hotel representative said we owed a balance. The employees there are horrible! We ended up getting a free night bc management saw we were indeed already paid for. There were no big towels only hand towels […] the whole weekend bc their "dryer" was broke! Homeless people are given vouchers to live there so you can only imagine the type of people "hanging" in and around the hotel. Crack heads and prostitutes! One guy asked to use our car!? NEVER again!!! U truly get what u pay for!!! Worse hotel I've ever stayed in in my life!!!! Please spend about 20 dollars more and stay in a nice hotel!!! Mehr

Only positive was that the hotel is about 1 mile from downtown, and pretty cheap. Other than that, there's not a lot of good to say about it. Run down, no fridge/microwave, no hot water, and very questionable neighborhood. Not recommended

that hotel reminded me of a hotel that you pay by the hour..i realize that they were remodeling,but no amount of paint and wood will help that place..the lock on the room door was very loose.i wasn't sure if the door was locked or not.i booked that room over the phone sight unseen.if i'd had the time and money i would've taken the loss and found another […] room.there were rooms on my floor that appeared to be in the process of being repair,but the door to the rooms were left standing wild open at all times..even some occupied rooms had the doors wild open and people looking to see who's coming and going.. no sheets on bed just a blanket on top of it .hot tub was just for looks, it or the pool wasnt working .before u rent a room look else where

Midtown Hotels New Orleans is HORRIBLE! The Hallways are disgusting and so are the rooms. The room we stayed in was filled with stains EVERYWHERE, on the carpet, blankets and chairs! Our toilet was out of order and the bathtub was disgusting. The rooms have no phones, forcing us to walk downstairs everytime we needed something. And when we requested […] fresh bath towels, they told us they had run out. Our room was NEVER cleaned throughtout our entire stay! The hotel employees had NO customer service skills what-so-ever! I wouldnt suggest this hotel to my worst enemy. Mehr

Discusting does not begin to describe our room when we arrived. The floor was filthy, there was toothpaste still stuck on the counter, the door looked like it had been kicked in, and I would find later that night there were blood stains on my sheets. We also arrived wanting to shower, but since the tub was so gross we were just going to use the sink […] and a wash rag. We noticed we had not a single towel or rag. I tried to call the front desk, but there was no phone. I walked down to the front desk to ask for towels. She said they didnt have any clean but were washing some and would bring them to us. Twenty minutes later a man brings us one small old beat up towel and two wash rags for two people! We got dressed as fast as we could as we did not want to stay in the room. We were scared to return to our discusting hotel room so we stayed out as long as we could. When we were too tired to stay out any longer we returned to the room. We layed out our clothes on the top of the bed and slept on those. My sheets were covered in blood stains!! The only thing good about the hotel was they had a safe, but when I tried to use it it was broken! They claim to have a restaurant, but they do not. The pool was in decent condition. Mehr

This hotel was very nasty. They never came in and gave me clean towels, and it was in a very bad neighborhood. I caught head lice while at this hotel. I have stayed in a varity of hotels in my life, but none was as bad as this one.

I understand you get what you pay for but this was ridiculous! To pay for a room where the rugs feel moist and filthy against your feet is no BUENO! or to have roaches just chillin' like we are the un-invited guest..another NO BUENO! and to lay down in a bed where there are burn holes all over the comforter..is once again a no BUENO! Definetly had trouble […] sleeping there. Fortunately, it was a short stay. I could have gotten a better price somewhere else. The only plus was its location for me..close to the event I was attending! Never again! Mehr

We reserved 4 rooms one for guys one for girls...one of the rooms the battery went out on lock on door and all of our personal belongings where in there...the girl told us that the guy said he was not coming up there till the following day & if he had to call pop a lock we would have to pay for it & they would not refund the room...I would sleep in […] my car before I stayed here again....horrible horrible experience would not recommend to ANYONE!!! The hotel is older, and somewhat run down. The bathroom wasn't very clean. The desk staff was courteous and helpful. It met my needs as an inexpensive one night stay.

There were roaches everywhere. Even inside the bathroom. Carpet was black due to dirt and filth. Horrible place.

This hotel is NOT in the heart of New Orleans but rather in the heart of the ghetto. The doors were broken and didn't lock , sink was held up by 2x4's, sheets were dirty, rooms smelled, no air and they had bugs. Needless to say we DID NOT stay and this hotel I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
