Days Inn Orlando Universal Studios North - Orlando

The hotel was right next to a prison, once we get passed the checkin and into our room at 3am, the toilet had urine all over the lid and toilet. Needless to say we checked out one day earlier, we looked to another hotel to service us the proper way...with a "clean" room. Days Inn needs to really analyze their "cleanliness" promise.

NOTE: THIS PROPERTY IS ADJACENT TO A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY. Had I known that upfront, I would not have stayed here, but unfortunately this information is not readily apparent on the website. We just needed a cheap room for one night due to a late arrival in town. The room was clean although outdated. We had a problem with the toilet overflowing. Since […] it was the middle of the night, we used towels to clean the floor but it would have been helpful to have a plunger in the room. During checkout in the morning I overheard the desk clerk telling maintenance that other rooms had plumbing issues w/their toilets too. The continental breakfast served its purpose. The place is a horror movie, next to a CORRECTIONAL, Is only one person’s in the front desk, and he is the manager, and the one who answer the phone and received all the complaint, and make the check in….!! The bed was horrible, smell so bad, even the bed, I slept whit a towel on the pillow because the smell was terrible.

Yea, they don't mention that they are on the same exact block as the Orange County Jail. Sirens were going off all night, I got no sleep whatsoever. Thank goodness we only had to stay there one night. The room was not nice. The comforters on the bed were in horrible shape. One of them had a huge rip in it that instead of replacing, or even having someone […] fix it properly, it was horribly stitched back together. Stay far away from here!!! Mehr

Place was the dirtiest place we haven been. I even found a roach in the bathroom. We always bring in our own bed covers ; thank goodness since they dont change them unless you ask . Pretty decent for the price.

Basically shares the parking with the prison. Comfy beds but the bail bonds next door and across the street was too much of a turn off, that and the jail right next door.

This was the worst Hotel I have ever seen, been a person that travels extensively, not even in the poorest of countries have I, seen such filth and disrepair. 1-The rooms had a very unpleasant smell. We booked 3 rooms, and were appointed rooms 245/429/431 even though we requested to be on the same floor. 2-Room 429 the toilet was not cleaned, we had […] to call service. 3-The elevator looked like it had never been cleaned the whole structure was in total disrepair, the floors approaching the elevator had water all over. 4- When I made the booking I, was not informed that my credit card was going to be charged prior to my check-in but I, can understand why. We were like Hostages we had no other choice either you stay or lose your money. Room 245 was facing the pool, it was very noisy. In my opinion this Hotel was not worth what we paid. Located directly behind a prison. Paid for 3 days in advance online, when we checked in, there was an additional $2 a day fee. Breakfast substandard, rooms mildly clean. A/C was outstanding, good water pressure in shower, although shower smelled musty and there was mold growing on the walls. Won't go back, and won't recommend.

I booked with this hotel before reading reviews because of urgency of my trip and my limited financial resources. It wasn't a planned "Disney Vacation" trip. I wasn't there as a tourist. After booking and THEN reading some of the reviews, I thought "Oh No!" It was too late........no refunds and I had to go. I was pleasantly surprised. Not a 4 Star Hotel […] but it was convenient, clean (no evidence of "bug" or "mold" in my room) and affordable. There was a misunderstanding about an additional per day "fee." Not a huge financial burden but should have been told "up front" when I booked the room. Also, when I booked I was told I would have a fridge and microwave. I wasn't told those "amenities" would cost an additional cost per day. After discussing this with the front desk, I was not charged the additional fees. Mehr

room had nasty stains on carpet and springy, old beds. smelled bad too. staff were not entirely friendly but weren't outright mean. generally, an old, musty, warn Days Inn with a face-lifted front desk area.

staff was very helpful, especially with directions. The only thing that was a drawback was the pillows were too hard for comfortable sleeping. Otherwise, we were happy with our overnight stay, and the price was very reasonable.

Our family decided on the same day to head to Orlando for some family time. We were very happy with the location and price of the hotel. The best part was that it was just minutes away from the park, we didn't have to drive far after leaving the park exhausted from all the walking. We would definitely recomend Hotels.com to our family and friends.

This hotel was horrible... The pictures up on the website were beautiful it seemed like a very, very nice hotel. When we got there it looked nothing like the pictures it wasn't less than a mile from universal studios and it wasn't less 5 miles from Disney world magic kingdom. The only thing close to it was an Ihop and orange county jail. Also there […] wasn't any Wi-Fi. We called up to the check in and check out desk and they never fixed the problem. So overall it was a horrible experience and I won't ever go back there and I wont recommend this hotel to any friends of my or any family. Mehr

Reasonable rate and room. Not reasonable breakfast. No oatmeal, eggs, or fruit, just white bread and carbs.

The price was very reasonable - probably due to the location right next to the county jail. This is the most secure hotel in the area. Also an IHOP right next door. Stayed in pet friendly room - no odor presence found - no mold - pool was lovely! This hotel was around the corner from a prison and in a very sketchy neighbourhood. We couldn't leave this hotel fast enough!!!

Just OK... Could nicer cleaner for similar $$$

This hotel is very easy to get to from the highway. However, there is a massive jail directly behind it and police cruisers constantly patrolling the road. There were tons of bugs in our room. We were on the ground floor and sunlight streamed in (along with bugs) from under our door. We could hear every word of conversations occurring in the hallway […] outside our room and next door. The most inconvenient part of our stay was their "wireless Internet". This was a completely false claim - as the hotel had no Internet the entire 2 nights we stayed there! Each time we contacted the front desk the staff were curt,rude and dismissive saying "it's in the process of being fixed ". This hotel was a complete disappointment!!!!! Stay away! Mehr

the room was not completely cleaned when we checked in. the maids never cleaned the room, just knocked on the door and asked if we needed new towels. beds were very uncomfortable, felt like being hit and run over a few times after the first night due to the mattresses are terrible

Bad choice on our part since we are Caucasians and this hotel attracts Hispanics and black people. As such the staff was not very friendly and the front desk gal was rude. I wished we would have stayed at the other Days Inn a mile away!

To start out with, when we arrived, the hotel in NO way resembled the picture on the website! Not to mention that it is located next to a corrections facility! My reservation was prepaid, and I arrived late at night on a Friday and had a conference the entire weekend, so making a change would have been a big deal and costly. I WAS STUCK! To make things […] worse, we found another persons clothes in the draw and shoes under the bed. It was a non-smoking room, yet the bedspread was loaded with cigarette burns. AS I said, I was at a conference all weekend, so I had very little time in the room. So I didn't address these problems until I checked out. I saw no reason to address the them in the middle of the night when I was returning to my room to shower and sleep. Or early in the morning when I was leaving again. I was told that since my reservation was prepaid they could do nothing at the time. They would have to investigate my complaints and someone would contact me. Not being used to the roads, we missed a turnoff and did a bit more driving to get back, but otherwise, we enjoyed our 1-night stay. Many fine restaurants in the immediate area and our area was not too noisy. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Orlando.

The hotel itself was great for the low price, wasn't expecting anything better as it was a Days Inn. The continental breakfast was too simple. The only thing I didn't like was that it's right next to a jail.

When you first find the hotel theres billboards advertising bail bond connections (first Clue)... if you don't know the area you'll be lost in a bad neighborhood. Check in desk was very helpful and nice,but we stayed three days and there was no room service,(fresh towels, fix beds ect.). I liked the Hotel but outside the rooms specially the parking lot was very messy. The people in the reception (not the workers) I guess they were guests? they looked creepy.

the hotel location is so practical.Next to Airport and attractions,this is the best choice.We find a nice room at 4th floor and pool view.At breakfast,we invade the lobby.By night,the Island bar and grill,dance class like showtime.Or the restaurant I-hoop,nice cuisine.We come back to Orlando and stay at this Hotel.

Days inn north of Universal - You definitely get what you pay for. Sirens all night. Noise from housekeeping staff rolling their carts. I will definitely spend a little more and stay at a better hotel.

i hated everything about this hotel

The beds were extemely comfortable. The room was clean and everything there for us. The exterior door has a gap at the bottom, so a little draft came in, but the room was nice and warm(it got cold that weekend). Very close to all the Orlando entertainment things.

Our family booked this room for a weekend trip to universal studios. Other than being about 10 minutes from the resort, it came to a big surprise that the local next door neighbor to the hotal included a correctional institution. Our room looked clean, but the smell was far from it. We booked two rooms, but apparently couldn't keep the rooms within […] 10 feet of each other.After asking to get a room closer to one another, they informed us there was nothing they could do. The continental breakfast consisted of ceral,muffins, bagels and mini plastic wrap danishes, and juice ( no fruit ). The only thing the made it some what bearable was the fact that a breakfast restaurant was available next door so that we didn't have to subject ourself to the same food 2 days in a row. Being that we were unfamiliar with the orlando area, it was a bit upseting to see that another Days Inn within a much shorter distance to the park. Mehr
