Omni Shoreham Hotel - Washington

sehr gut. In diesem Hotel für einige Tage abzusteigen ist wirklich ein Genuss. Die anfänglichen Bedenken in diesem Hotel nicht das Dinner oder gar das Frühstück zu bezahlen waren völlig unbegründet. Ein Wermuthstropfen ist der teure PKW-Parkplatz.

Das Hotel zählt zu den Spitzenhäusern in Washington. Zwar liegt es etwas abseits des Zentrums (3 Metro- stationen), dafür aber auch ruhig. Die Hotrelhalle ist riesig, das Hotel auch, trotzdem hat man nicht das Gefühl von Massentourismus. Mein Zimmer war im Verhältnis zum Preis riesig, sehr sauber und ruhig.

The folks at the reception were nice, but....They took $39 for 24 hour valet parking and then took almost one hour to get my car back from the parking lot when I checked out. It was absolutely chaotic in front, with 50+ people checking out at the same time. One passenger from a limo had to come out to clear traffic in front of the hotel because he was […] getting late for his flight. The hotel should have better valet service than that. If they charge that kind of money, they should also provide good service. I am not going back there again. Mehr

The hotel is a lovely old hotel in excellent condition. The East entrance is a beautiful, park-like setting beautifully landscaped. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The metro is just across the street, and there are lots of great restaurants in walking distance. My only complaint is that the only hotel parking available is expensive […] valet parking, but we parked in a garage up in the Cleveland Park area near our son's apartment very inexpensively. Mehr

This is an impeccably maintained old-style luxury hotel., well located, well-run, and a pleasure to stay at. Every facet of our stay was top-drawer, except the price, which was more reasonable than newer chain hotels. The hotel is just steps from the Red Line, & was convenient to everything in DC.

We stayed in a Classic Suite. Being a family of 5 we needed the extra room. My only complaint is that the pull out sofa was ancient and the mattress was so poor no one could sleep on it. We crammed 5 into the 2 queen beds. Spending the extra on the suite did not pay off. Also, there was a large convention going on that made it hard to catch one of the […] only two very small elevators to get to your room. If there was anyone other then us in the elevator the stoller was impossible to fit. I don't know that the hotel is as family friendly if your family is young as it promotes to be. Mehr

Our room was in the newer wing. It was small for 2 adults and 2 kids but very clean. The pool was a big hit and nice to come back to after a day of sight seeing. Convenient to the metro, fun neighbirhood

Great hotel. Very friendly staff. Wonderful location and surrounding neighborhood. Family friendly environment.

Beautiful hotel, pleasant staff, fantastic breakfast. Lived up to all expectations.

Well situated to metro,zoo and bars with good happy hours. Parking is pricey, but Dc is a major city

This is an excellent classic hotel that has a lot of elegance and style. I suggest all try it out, and it is in a good location. The staff was nice and the rooms are a good size. Black Vulcan

Stayed here several times over past few years. It's a great summer vacation spot for families that would enjoy National Zoo in morning and like to spend the heat of the afternoon in the resort style outdoor pool and lovely grounds. Need to take taxi or metro to get to mall area and other DC sites. My family thoroughly enjoys these trips and summer rates […] are usually quite reasonable. Mehr

I did not research thoroughly about the parking in this hotel. I thought the place was far enough the distance from the capital that it would offer free parking. When I arrived, I asked for a self-parking and the attendant simply told me that there is not any. That led to another unpleasant discovery and surprise that there is an additional charge of […] $38+ per day for valet parking alone!!! So all the appearance of a good deal online and was my deciding factor of choosing this hotel was basically a sham. It was such a hassle having the car in the valet. When I got to my room I remember that I left some stuff in the car, so I had to call the valet ahead of time and waited on the lobby for my car. The next day, I forgot to take my water bottles and the same thing happen all over again. The breakfast was $20 per person. What a rip off. Homewood Suites have better value with a free breakfast and a lite dinner and you would get a suite with two beds and a sofa bed with comparable price and closer to the attraction. I was disappointed that there was no more cherry blossom to see. The hotel garden compensated the experience with its beautiful tulips that were in full bloom. Everything in the neighborhood was expensive and designed for tourists. Even the gas station nearby is also a rip off with 98 cents/gallon above the normal price. This hotel is 3 miles away from the National Monument. There is a rent-a-bike station and Metro very close to the hotel. But if you're traveling with kids like me, your car is your best bet. Mehr

The Omni Shoreham is in one of my favorite neighborhoods in DC. At the special rate we got through hotels.com, it can't be beat! A beautiful luxury hotel with lots of history. It is one of the grande dames of DC hotels, built around 1930. The rooms were charming, comfortable, updated, and spacious. The breakfast buffet is absolutely wonderful, but expensive. […] There are, however, other breakfast alternatives in the surrounding neighborhood. The hotel looks out upon Rock Creek Park in the back, and also has its own beautiful garden. Only complaint is that the parking is valet only and about $30 a night. Otherwise a wonderful experience! I had two complaints. For the room rate, I ought to have decent pillows and a functioning thermostaat. Also if the pool is open, the pool bar need to be open I was told to order room service which took almostn90 minutes. The hotel was beautiful, well maintained, great location and I hope to return.

I liked the hotel overall. A little intimidating walking in with the big chandeliers and everyone walking around in business attire. Got to the room (king bed) and was decent size, big bathroom And had an old-fashion feel to it. Had to ask the front desk for a disposable razor and they quickly confirmed they had one and to come to the concierge to pick […] it up and got there and they couldn't find it. It was delivered to the room sometime after but we already left the hotel. Went to Robert's Restaurant for dinner and got dressed up thinking it was a big deal but really wasn't. Wine was way overpriced and had a small selection of food on the menu. We skipped the appetizer (nothing looked too appetizing) and both got entrees. My girlfriend got the salmon ($34) and it was cooked perfectly and had great seasoning. I got the stuffed shrimp ($36) and it was very good but only 3 shrimp so was not worth the money. No sides offered but came with some kind of vegetable medley which I did not even try. The hotel is located between Georgetown and a spot the taxi driver called Adams Morgan. We went to Adams Morgan for drinks at night and was a fun time. Went to Georgetown the following day for a relaxing stroll through the old City and was pretty neat but take plenty of money and be ready to be around some wealth. Mehr

The lobby area reminded me and my friend of our trip to Vegas. From check-in to check-out, we could not have asked for a more convenient and well kept hotel. We will definitely be returning to this one next time we are in D.C.

Shower was backed up. Took shower standing in a tub of backup from drain. To make matters worse, we had to ask 3x times (over 3 days) to get someone to fix it. Hotel had alot of nice extra stuff but seriously lacked in the basics. In addition, they hijack you (with nothing stated in advertisement) that parking is $32 a day. Not worth it!!

The hotel looks and room are just awesome.

I have stayed here before and because I had such a positive experience I was willing to return. The service the attentiveness and spacious rooms are superior. I also always have room service and it's always on time.

The rooms are quaint. Nothing special but did have a nice tv. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the hotel does have a lot of character and history. It is also right next to the metro so it's easy to get around.

Lots of famous people including the Beatles have stayed at the Shoreham. It's now updated and seems to be in very good shape. Everything was perfect -- especially appreciated the on location shoe-shine guy (I think his name was Tony?): super nice guy and the service really helped with wintery grime on the shoes. Room was very spacious for a DC area hotel.

Recently stayed at the Omni Shoreham for a conference nearby. Upon a late night arrival, the staff were wonderful and friendly. The rooms are older, but updated and comfortable. Bed was very comfotable. While the floors can be a bit creaky, the rooms and the hotel in general were very quiet. Food at the restaurant is solid. The breakfast buffet is a […] nice option in the morning. Overall a very peaceful hotel in a good location. No hustle and bustle, but stately and quite. It felt luxurious, but was reasonably priced (off-season, anyway). The hotel food was obscenely expensive, but who cares in a neighborhood with so many places to eat and rink? I would stay again.

We were pleased with the staff and the king bed room was very roomy.The only thing that was difficult was the bathroom was small. It was hard to enter due to the placement of the sink and door. We enjoyed our stay and had no problems getting around to see the city.
