Great newer building. I thought it was advertised as adults only above age 18, but that was not he case for the weekend in the breakfast room, maybe it was adults only just for the quiet top floor where I was. I have stayed here a couple times, and this motel is always clean, convenient and the price is definitely right. If you must stay in a motel (not a full-service business hotel), you can't beat this one.

Good place to stay with a good price

Surprisingly pleasant facility. Why? It's located in an odd neighborhood but also extremely convenient to Old Town Sacramento, the Capitol, Arco (or whatever its current name) Arco Arena, American River Park, andf Arden Fair. Don't discount this little gem from your travel plans.

I did some consulting work at UC Davis Medical Center for several months, and this was a great place to stay. Very convenient location right off of I-5, and there is a McDonalds right in the same parking as the hotel. Front desk staff was friendly, and the hotel does look nice, as it has just been renovated. The carpets do need to be replaced though. Be […] careful in the shower....I think someone flushed the toilet in a different room, and I was somewhat scalded by the sudden temperature change. I have stayed here many times, and it only happened twice though. If you are someone who likes to go directly from work to the hotel and just hang out in your room (me), then this is a great location. If you like to wander around the neighborhood at night, probably not the best decision, as the neighborhood is not the safest. Overall a great stay at an amazing price! Mehr

We'd read previous reviews and were a little nervous, but the price was so attractive that we decided to stay anyway. We were very pleasantly surprised! The room was newly refurbished and clean, beds were fine, if you like a fluffy pillow, bring your own. Breakfast was great, woman taking care of the room was very attentive. An amazing deal!

We just needed a place to crash and this was perfect. It's newly remodeled so it looks pretty clean inside. Strong water pressure, firm bed, free wifi. The only thing "bad" was the really loud mini fridge. They even installed an ornamental cabinet around the fridge to deaden the sound, but that doesn't help at all. The room was spacious, clean, and pretty quiet, although the noise factor was probably helped by a low occupancy rate on this particular night. The continental breakfast is definitely weighted toward carbohydrates and not proteins. We would stay here again.

Great place to stay for a very reasonable walk-in rate! The facilities were more than satisfactory. We slept on a great, clean bed in a large, comfortable room. Absolutely will do this one again as a stop over on the way to Portland!

What made our stay so wonderful was the staff at the hotel. They were very polite and helpful and went out of their way to give us the support we needed. Thank you!!!

The Governor's Inn is a quite nice place in an area of budget motels. The rooms are nice, the breakfast is pretty good, and the hotel is kept nice. The rates are very reasonable. It feels like a hotel that would be more expensive. It is located close to downtown and all the action, but not close enough to walk. There is a large police station right […] next door to add a level of security. The surrounding area isn't ghetto by any means, but it's a little rough around the edges. Free shuttle to airport is very nice. The hotel is prefectly located if you are flying in and/or attending an event at Arco Arena, and also going downtown. Mehr

The hotel is clean and comfortable, but the fridge and heating were LOUD.

GREAT PRICES AND SERVICE! NOT DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH. Your only about a mile away from downtown.

Very updated and modern hotel, quiet rooms and friendly service. Was great for a layover from the Sacramento Airport. Free shuttle to/from airport was a big bonus.

The hotel staff were friendly, the entire place was clean and the room was nice. The only real downfall were the beds and pillows. The pillows were flat and lumpy and the beds were extra firm - next time we would bring our own pillows if we were to stay here again. The location was easy to find off the freeway, the room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was adequate and rate was good. That's about all I ask for. There was a little traffic noise, but it wasn't bad, we also had the side away from the freeway. I will stay here again next time I'm in Sac.

Came to the hotel for a Meeting in sacramento. My daughter was with me and we loved the hotel. I have no complaints. Would definitely stay there again. My daughter felt the same way, we were sad we could not stay longer.

The hotel was easy to find was right off the freeway. Unfortunately the room was not heated by the time we checked in that evening & you need to run the unit all night to drowned out the freeway noise. Was clean comfortable and easy to get around. Breakfast in the morning was very accommodating.

This was a very nice place for a short valentine getaway stay for our 44th Valentine's Day as Mr. and Mrs. Thanks for your hospitality!

Very clean and new. They have large public space, like lobby, breakfeast room, hall way, etc. The room space is also kind of big. There are a couple of gate to access to your room at different places. Feel pretty quite and private. Breakfast have bagel, muffin, yogurt, coffee, juice,milk, apple, cereal, etc. You can also make waffle yourself. Coffee […] is good. The hotel is by I-5 but I did not hear any traffic, probably because my room is on the other side. My room on 3rd floor is very close to the ice machine, which makes loud noise sometimes. But it did not bother our family too much. Mcdonalds is on the same lot and police station is next to it, so should be safe. Mehr

Loved this hotel! The staff was so friendly and accomodating. The bed and bedding very comfortable. Will definitely stay again when in the Sacramento area. Only neg. was the water in shower turned hot/cold thru-out showering, not a deal breaker.

I thought the Governor's Inn clean & comfortable hotel at a reasonable price. The neighborhood is a bit iffy - lots of walking transients, but I did not feel threatened at all. It is very convenient to the airport and to downtown Sacramento if you have a car - but within walking distance there is very little. An entire row of restaurants stands empty […] across the road, with only a McDonald's, a Cannery Row & A Southern BBQ place to choose from now. I suppose when the trams are fully operable, one will be able to get out to eat if you walk the 4 blocks to the station. Warning: Everything shuts early on Sunday - it was most disconcerting to get there hungry or wanting a glass of wine after 8 pm. The continental breakfast is very limited, and the coffee was not wonderful. However; again, the price was good, and the hotel staff were very nice. Mehr

we decided on the last minute to stay one night in Sacramento. the hotel offered a good last minute deal. rooms are big, clean, comfortable. no bath, just shower. good breakfast, good location, very friendly and helpful front desk.

Stopped over while travelling with my family. Just needed a place to sleep and eat, but this would have been a great place to stay a while. Checked in at 1am, but felt safe. Extremely convenient to I-5, large, stylish & clean rooms, comfy beds. Nice breakfast variety. Small but workable exercise room. Good staff. Would definitely stay again.

Although the immediate vicinity (a petrol station and a MacDonalds) is not much to look at, the hotel has a frequent shuttle service and pickup. THe room was excellent and the attention to detail superb (even the towels were daily folded into interesting patterns). The breakfast buffet was excellent. Well worth the price. This hotel is appropriate for travelers with car. Only restaurants to walk to are BBQ, seafood (pretty good) and Mexican. Mc D next door, big service station across st. My room was recently renovated, very clean and comfortable. Nice bed, linens. Good choice of tv channels. The girl in reception was very understanding and nice had a "GREAT" time could use more food for the breakfast but overall HAD A EXCELLENT TIME!!!

The hotel itself was fairly OK for the rates charged - location close to downtown, fairly clean and helpful staff. On the downside, we had a very noisy fridge, HAVC and freeway noise that kept waking us up a night!
