Hotel Lord Berri - Montreal

You get what you pay for, ist eine Binsenwahrheit. Hier habe ich aber eher mehr erhalten, als ich bezahlen musste. Das Hotel ist neben der wichtigsten Metro Haltestelle Berri-UQAM und daher bestens geeignet, die Stadt per öffentlichem Verkehr zu erkunden. Mein Zimmer war ruhig auf die hintere Strasse hinaus. Einzig die Klimaanlage war etwas schwach. […] Der Parkplatz in der Tiefgarage kostet rund CAD 17 plus tax, das war aber keine Ueberraschung. Ich würde nächstes Mal wieder dieses Hotel wählen. Mehr

It was just great. Loved the restaurant

After booking this hotel without ever being there, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was in a good location (as one of us arrived in Montreal by Bus, and the bus station is just three blocks away, it worked out perfectly!) and is a good option for that that need a comfortable bed, TV, Desk, Internet and a clean bathroom. I will say that the bed […] on the 7th floor was MUCH more comfortable than the one on the 10th. The only reason I didn't give it the highest score was the paid-parking situation - as people clearly can't park their cars properly, the hotel wouldn't do anything to fix it and so my car had to remain outside, unsecured, at the same price as if I could park underground. However, if a car is not in the picture, we will definitely stay at the Lord Berri again! Mehr

Conveniently close to the Metro. I've been to this hotel before and had amazing service when Luke worked there, since he's not there, we had very strange service. Room is average, terrible bedding and towels [don't remember it being like this before]. Despite our DO NOT DISTURB sign being posted outside the door - housekeeping woke us up at whatever […] time in the morning. How hard is it to train someone to learn what DO NOT DISTURB sign means? Knowing that I can get the same rate for a different hotel in Montreal - I will most likely not return unless my option is absolutely limited. Mehr

Close to the Old Montreal, Our only complaint is that the rooms smell like pestecide the first day, but overall the room is confortable and clean.

First I had reserved a room with a queen size bed. Instead I got a room with two full sized beds which made the room very cramped. The hotel was noisy with parties going on most of the night. When I notified that hotel desk they said they would take care of it but the noise continued till 3-4 am. This hotel is great for college kids out for a good  […] time Mehr

This hotel was a pleasant surprise as it was close to St Catherine Street the Main street in the City Area leading to lots of sights Lots to see and plenty of Shopping etc The only thing I was diussapointed in was that you have to pay TWO DOLLARS to access the Internet Some of the cheapest hotels allow FREE access to the common computer How does it […] profit a Hotel of thid caliber to charge a token fee for what is common place in this age of technology ???? Like a hotel is good and clean but there are another inconveniences. It is not a very good parking lot. A lot of thiefs and you have to very carrefull with people around you. The safe parking lot is very far and very expensive.

Excellent location. Desk person helpful and responsive. Room amenities should be improved: consistent number of towels, better soap, lotion, shampoo. Sink water spashes onto counter and wets the tissues in the dispenser attached to the counter. what about tea as well as coffee? But, over-all we were pleased with our stay.

If you don't mind constant traffic and hallway noises, this place is perfect.

This hotel was in a great location. Our room was spacious and clean. We had a great trip, this hotel was within walking distance to everything. We enjoyed the night life of Montreal but our hotel was quiet when we got back every night. It isn't the newest or the fanciest but it is a good value and we will stay here again on our next trip. The hotel was right in the heart of downtown Montreal. The conditions, however, were mediocre at best. The carpet was stained and there were holes forming in my bedsheets. I could also hear everything that went on in the room next door.

A pleasant hotel - clean room etc. Access to wi-fi but expensive to use the hotel computer if you don't bring your own. Near the metro and lots of good eating establishments. Helpful staff.

Probably the cheapest hotel in the area, the Lord Berri had a very European feel, the rooms and beds were comfortable, the restaurant was good and the front desk staff very helpful, friendly and funny! The surrounding area was a bit dodgy - w/ some homeless souls milling about - nothing threatening though.

I went to Montreal for my bachelor party weekend with 7 other friends. We booked at the Lord Berri hotel because the pictures looked good and I had walked by this hotel before a few months earlier when I stayed in Montreal and the lobby and look of the entrance to hotel looked very promising. When I got into my room, I was very dissappointed because […] the quality of the room was not what I expected. Our T.V. was less than 20 inches and fairly old. There weren't many channels to watch and all were in french. The room itself was quite small, and the windows do not open! I thought the window had to be broken, so I called reception and was told that the windows are not supposed to open and if we want some fresh air we have to step outside of the hotel. This I found to be quite ridiculous that I was not able to crack open a window to let some fresh air into the room. However, I should mention that my friends were lucky enough to get a slightly upgraded room with a flat screen t.v. I found this unfair that they paid the same amount as us but were provided with a better room that us, but not by much. Just a better t.v, better lamps, and maybe better wallpaper. What I mentioned above are the only complaints that I would have about staying at this hotel. However, I probably would stay here again only because only because of the location. As long as you are not expecting much and are mainly in this hotel for the awesome location and plan on spending most of your time outside, you should be fine. Mehr

There were eight of us in two rooms. Hotel was a good party atmosphere. We met other young people there and were able to party between rooms.

Lord Berri is conviniently located within 15 mintes walk from Old City and port, two blocks away from Latin Quaters neighborhood with plenty of cafees and restaurants and copuple bocks away from central street with bunch of shooping areas. There is an undergrond parking inthe hotel for additional 17$ a day, but it's a tight spot for only 10 cars. There […] is an outside parking privately own right by the hotel for arond 15$ a daycash, but we preferred to park inside. If you like bicycles, thre are plenty of places to rent in Montreal in a special places, two blocks away toward Old City, just ask the hotel staff they were vey helpfull. Mehr

The front desk staff were very nice and accomodating. Everyone was bilingual and anwsered all questions promptly and was very helpful. The location of this Hotel was great. It was on the Metro route so anywhere in Montreal is accessible with a short 1 block walk to the metro station. Very close to Old Montreal so it is a very good location for vacationers. […] Overall a very good experince. Free Wi-fi accessible from front desk who will give you a password. This hotel was extremely convenient for walking to the university (UQAM). It is also right off the Berri airport 747 bus stop. The neighborhood is vibrant and fun and not very expensive. The room was small and not particularly pretty. It smelled a bit musky. There was no iron, even though there was supposed to be, and they could not deliver one except […] during business hours. The Hotel Lord Berri is conveniently located just steps from the Metro and is close to most attractions. The room is comfortable and spacious but the bathrooms could use a bit of sprucing up and upgrading on shower heads, sinks and tiles.

This hotel is located about a block from the Berri UQAM metro station which makes it very convenient to get around (even to Old Montreal or Downtown). The size of the room was good and the deal we got on the room could not be beat (we were in town for a conference). We had friends who were staying downtown for twice what we paid and a room that was […] half the size. Close to good (and affordable) restaurants on St-Denis. Would recommend. Mehr

The hotel was confortable. The rooms were clean but the corridors of the hotel smell as if they were really dusty. the red blanket of the beds was heavy and dirty, so we didnt like it.

It's a block from the metro where you can catch two different lines and also a block from the express bus station to & from the airport. The hotel is in good shape. There were kids partying next door but you couldn't hear them through the walls. It's also a couple of blocks from Le Village & Rue St. Denis if you need a late nite dinner. Me and my partner stayed at the hotel for the Victoria Day Long Weekend and had a great time! We didn't spend much time AT the hotel as we were out exploring Montreal, but when we were there the staff was super helpful and friendly. Our tv remote wasn't working and staff came to fix it within 15 min of calling the front desk. Our bed was super comfy, […] the shower pressure was decent and even though the AC unit was somewhat sketchy looking, it worked just fine. It's no boutique hotel, but we didn't mind since we were out and about most of the time anyway. The location is amazing for walking to restaurants and nightlife and for jumping on the metro! Even the restaurant staff was super courteous and cheered along with us as we stayed in to watch an NBA playoff game. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Mehr

For the price this is a good hotel and conveniently located within walking distance of Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and the waterfront. Pleasant clean rooms and restaurant on site.

hotel is close to everything in the downtown area, a block away from the subway and bus station, the restaurant in the hotel lobby is great the food is excellent, I can't wait to visit it again.................

Before I decide to stay in a hotel I do the mattress test. Always check for bed bugs. The hotel room was spotless! The location is great and close to the subway. The staff were very friendly. The room had all coveniences which included a dvd player, bar fridge, flat screen tv, desk, and an Italian restaurant accessible through the lobby. The restaurant […] must be good because it was packed and it also had a small bar for those taking a drink instaed of a meal - room service is available till 11PM. I will definitely stay there again. Also, I have to say (because I have asthma) that the room had been sprayed with room freshener that I can't tolerate - the windows open so I could easily clear the air and truly fresehen the room. Some of the sidestreets are sketchy so stay on rue Berri instead of taking shortcuts through any alleys if you are walking alone -` which is fair advice for any hoilday anywhere. Mehr

Only stayed at this hotel for a night but it was enough to know whether it would be worth it to stay here again or not. Got a good deal through hotels.ca. Check-in was quick and easy, although the reception person that night was absolutely useless - she didn't tell us when check-out was, when we tried to call her twice that evening she did not answer. […] Then around 9:30pm the fire alarm went off in the entire hotel. My boyfriend and I ran downstairs to the lobby where there were other guests but NO STAFF TO BE SEEN, ANYWHERE. We went outside because the fire department showed up (5 trucks!), after a few minutes they came back out and left. Still NO STAFF TO BE SEEN. Not one single staff came to talk to the guests in the lobby. Talk about fire safety! The morning staff was more competent in his job. He was friendly and even let us check out an hour later than usual. The hotel also provides a luggage storage if you have a few hours to wander around before leaving and not want to drag your heavy luggage everywhere. And there is free wi-fi for the rooms. The main subway station is just a minute walk away. There is an actual grocery store (IGA) about 5mins walk. Overall, I'd stay here again provided the incompetent staff was no longer working there. At the front desk everything was nice and clean. Friendly welcome. When getting of the elevator into the hall way, the hall had low light quality witch helped hide the stained hall way carpet. The bed room was also poor in lighting, and also stained carpet. the room was a bit aged. the beds where clean and me my wife and daughter did sleep well. the […] best part of the stay was the restaurant, great food and service.
