Das Hotel ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und nicht immer ganz sauber. Poolanlage außen auf dem Dach im 5 Stock ist sehr weitläufig. Leider sind zu wenig Liegemöglichkeiten vorhanden. Anlage war sehr sauber und gepflegt und alles wie Handtücher etc. war vorhanden.. Zimmer war sauber und die Einfichtung ok. Leider sind die Preis im Restaurant/Bar […] sehr hoch. Aber in der Nebenstraße keine 2 min haben wir ein sehr gutes Frühstückslokal entdeckt. Die Zentrale Lage zur Innenstadt sowie zur Waterfront ist optimal. Für einen Chicago Kuztripp ist das Hotel optimal. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Werden bei unserem nächsten Chicagobesuch wieder diese Hotel buchen. Mehr

+: Das Hotel ist an guter Lage, wir waren viel zu Fuss unterwegs, z.B. Navy Pier ca. 15 Min., Grant Park ca. 20 Min., Hancock Tower ca. 15 Min. Personal war sehr freundlich, -: was im dazugehörigen Restaurant Einstein nicht immer der Fall war. Die Zimmer sind sehr ringhörig, man bekommt alles mit. Die Hotelzimmer sind sehr sauber und schick eingerichtet, die Lobby und Reception machen einen sehr edlen und sauberen Eindruck. Von der 5. Etage aus erreicht man das Pool Deck, das man als Hotelgast bis abends um 10 Uhr benutzen darf. Die Lage des Hotels ist extrem zentral. Den See und das Navy Pier erreicht man zu Fuss in 5 Minuten. In 15 Gehminuten […] erreicht man das Watertower Shoppingcenter, den Millennium Park, den Hancock Tower, etc. Falls man das Hotelzimmer ohne Frühstück bucht, gibt es im Hotelgebäude neben der Lobby ein Café. Dort bekommt man frische Bagels, Muffins, geschnittene Früchte, und Kaffevariationen (kalt und warm). Sehr empfehlenswert!! Lecker! Mehr

Came for a Birthday weekend with 3 other girls. This hotel was located in a perfect spot to walk to everything. Clean rooms and queen size comfy beds. It was great and I would stay here again.

For the most part, it was very good; clean, good service, good location, etc. However, 2 issues brought the overall score down from a solid 4 to a 3. 1. The drain stop in the tub didn't work (they "fixed" it for the next morning by pulling it out and leaving it lay in the tub). 2. The HVAC is very old. In my room, the fan sounded like a belt was loose […] as it made a screaching noise every couple of minutes which made it difficult to fall asleep. Mehr

Got a very good discounted rate. Beds very comfortable, very knowledgeable and helpful concierge, pretty good location. Do not think the wireless internet service should be a charge, but it is available for free in the lobby. Room service prices very expensive.

We booked this hotel because of its location, and at the time there was a special offer on rates. We had actually stayed at a nearby more expensive hotel previously, but i prefered the Doubletree. The staff were really friendly, the hotel was very comfortable and the location is perfect for shopping and sightseeing. And you get a warm cookie on check-in […] - a small treat but very welcome. Can't really fault this hotel, except that to avail of the free wi-fi, you have to go down to the lobby each time as it is not available in the rooms. i would recommend this hotel and i'll stay here again on my next Chicago trip! The only thing that stops me from rating this a 5 is the concierge, which I felt to be rude, uninformed and just down right bad at his job. The porters were great as, as they provided accurate, detailed information in a way that didn't make me feel like a total moron. The overall feel of the hotel was fantastic, and I would and will visit this hotel […] again. Mehr

We just returned from a 5 day trip to fabulous Chicago. So happy we chose this hotel. It was in a great location - walking distance to many sights. We took cabs a few times but mostly saw the city on foot. Within walking distance to Miracle Mile shopping, Yolk (great place around the corner for breakfast), Hancock Bldg (go to the lounge on the 96th […] floor for a drink - best view ever!). Concierge was very helpful and staff very attentive. Safe area and so beautiful! We will be back. Mehr

The lobby staff was incredibly friendly and were always there to help in any manner they could. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is fantastic. It's only a few walking blocks away from Michigan Ave and the Chicago River but is still more affordable than many of the hotels in the area. The hotel rooms look a bit old and it can be a little cramped […] with the desk chair sometimes getting in the way of a walking path in front of the bed. The pipes in our shower tended to scream at us in the morning, making a high-pitched noise when the water was set to a warm temperature. It was surprising at first but we got used to it and the noise lessened with each person taking their turn to shower. I found the pillows to be very thin and uncomfortable. However I found out the last night of our stay that the other bed in our room had much fluffier, thicker pillows so it looks like they put all the thin pillows on one of our beds and the thicker pillows on the other. It may have been a much more comfortable few nights if I had noticed that earlier but it may have been a mistake. Just make sure to keep an eye out for that in case yours is the same way. They do, though, have an Einstein Bros. bagel shop in the hotel, which is great for a quick breakfast. All in all, the hotel room was average but the fantastic service, personable staff and central location all made it very worthwhile. If you're only staying in Chicago for a few days and you're looking for a good deal, I would recommend this hotel. Mehr

The Doubletree was outstanding. I received a warm cookie upon my arrival from the staff. They accommodated our party of 7 with a limo to restaurants. The room was super clean! It is the perfect location for anything you want to do in the city! The rate was spectacular!

Had to ask 3 times to have the light bulb replaced in the hallway entryway. Spacious room, clean, excellent location.

Besides being conveniently located and a beautiful hotel, it was the best smelling hotel we've ever been to! No, it wasn't the warm chocolate chip cookies they give you upon check in, it truly had a very nice fragrance that reminded you of a nice, clean place.

I mean... they great you with warm chocolate chip cookies!!! That alone is the reason to stay there. But seriously, this hotel was perfection. Everyone was friendly and helpful and it was very central to EVERYTHING. I am most definitely staying here again on my next trip to CHI-Town.

This hotel has a great location for access to MIchigan Ave. The beds were very comfortable. Our only complaint was that our room was not stocked with any bath towels and we had to call twice before they were delivered. The hotel staff was very apologetic however and brought extra. We'd stay here again!

This was not the hotel we thought we had reserved, but it ended up being a nice stay any way- the staff were so nice and helpful- top notch! The restaraunt was excellent for a quiet lunch, but way overpriced for breakfast- and two of us ended up with food poisoning from the breakfast on our trip home. Also, the maid staff came in while we were at breakfast […] and removed all of our remaining belongings- we had taken our major luggage to the car, but had toiletries and paperwork- including our citypasses- left to pick up and use after breakfast- so that was not a nice surprise to end the trip with. Place was great, but once in the room there were things that were set up to get you trapped into extra charges. The food was set up on a pressure plate system and the paper was not displayed readily. (We actually incurred a charge because we picked up a bottle of water to read it then set it back down before we read the paper about it). The t.v. was […] set up where one could have easily been charged fees if you punched the wrong button (T.V. remote was jinky--slow) It seemed to us that the this hotel in particular was trying to make an extra buck. We were attending a conference in Chicago and this hotel was really reasonable, well appointed, immaculate, in a great location between the Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile. Good value!

Great hotel, extremely clean and modern decor. Staff very friendly!! Travel with spouse and 2 teenage daughters to Chicago several times a year, will definitely stay again.

We were working at Northwestern. This is two blocks from the lake and very near the Navy Pier. When I go back I will stay here again. The only negative is that the handle on the shower was loose. I noted it to the staff upon departure.

The only thing this hotel was missing was an indoor pool. We sacrificed that so we could have two queen instead of two double beds. Just a personal preference. This hotel was clean, close to everything, and the linens were very comfortable. I would recommend this to a friend and would stay here again.

This hotel has convenient access to the Lakeshore walking/biking path. Also close to Magnificent Mile and the River. The staff is accommodating, but nothing special. We were on the 18th floor, and the water pressure was minimal.

Staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and polite. Helped up concerning travel in the city, where to go and what was available. Overall very impressed with personnel.

Close to everything, few blocks to mag mile, red line... Millions of restaurants near by. Quiet. Clean. Spacious. Would have liked an in room fridge and larger tub. Would have liked free wifi, but forced me to wander around to seek some. Would stay again.
